Best Heating & Air Conditioning/HVAC in Phoenix, AZ

I hired these guys a while back to give a 2nd opinion on an outrageous quote given to me by another HVAC company (whom I have also reviewed). They said the quote I got was bogus and I just needed some basic maintenance (clean coils, etc.). They could have just agreed with the first guy and swindled me for the job. HVAC has been working fine since. Appreciate the honesty and will never use anyone else.

Today I had the line from my R O system to the back of my refrigerator replaced because of a leak.   My technician was Javier.   He was polite, knowledge, got the job done and gave me hints about our soft water and R O systems.   I've used AHW for years and will continue.

Our AC motor went out, Juan their repair technician replaced the motor, wanted $700 for the motor. The motor was way to loud and next day it started going out, so we were without the AC all night and next day thanks to their work. When I called the next day and complaint asking them what kind of motors do they install that only last one day, they told me they don't know and to find somebody ales to fix it. So this is what you gonna be dealing with if you go with them. Stay away from this company.

If you're reading this review it's most likely that, like me, you've had pretty dodgy air conditioning guys try to price gouge you for something you're not even sure is needed; you probably, again like me, think that an honest, ethical and highly skilled HVAC technician is an urban legend.
I spent a few days this time trying to make sure that wasn't going to happen to me again and I read hundreds of reviews for HVAC companies so you don't have to, aren't I kind?
Beware of all those 5 star rated companies that somehow manage to have an abundance of 1 star reviews at the end of all their normal reviews that aren't included as they're 'not currently recommended' - I only found out about this anomaly after reading 198 mostly positive reviews of another company only to find 72 'not currently recommended' reviews containing absolute horror stories.
Another company had 420 mostly lovely reviews but then, again, at the end of all those were 377 more 'not currently recommended' reviews containing some hair curling reviews that would have people like me and you avoiding them at all costs!  
I called Johnny last Friday afternoon expecting to leave message and to my surprise he answered, I thought I would be leaving a message - I told him I wanted my two units to be serviced and that I was in no rush; I thought he would tell me he wouldn't be able to come out for a week or two as I'd left it too late as the heat has already ramped up, nope, Johnny said he'd be out yesterday, Monday morning.
Johnny showed up on time, was courteous and set about servicing my units in a most professional and knowledgable way; he and his partner gave me advice on temperatures to maintain my home and how often to change the filters so as to maximize the life span of my units, they also gave me the diagnostic readings and showed them to me when I enquired whether the numbers were within normal range - I've never experienced a HVAC engineer willing to share this before.
There was no rushing through the service to get to the next job, just thorough and thoughtful professional service.
If you look at my reviews I have only posted a few of them as I am naturally lazy, you have to be really great or truly, epically awful for me to bother: Johnny is absolutely deserving of all of his 5 star reviews and I am thrilled I found him - hopefully you will be able to use him and, like me, have the anxiety of calling a HVAC person removed without having to rely on Xanax to get you through the process!

This is the fourth time I have called Hays with some type of heating or cooling issue. Their customer service on the phone is wonderful, the technicians are respectful, and I trust them 100%. I have had problems with other companies in the valley, and I highly recommend them.

We had other companies come out and look at our AC unit because it had stopped working.  We were told by 3 different companies we had a bad unit, and a leak in our system because we were missing about 10 pounds of coolant.  All three companies recommended replacing the AC unit, which would have cost about $8000 to get our AC working again.

Upon a referral from a friend, we called Arizona Air Experts.  Caleb came out and spent almost 2 hours investigating the issue.  We had a value that was creating a blockage, so our system wasn't working correctly.

Caleb came by the next night after 6pm and stayed until he replaced the bad part in our system, and added the coolant that was needed.

He could have tried to up sell us like the 3 other companies with saying we needed 10 pounds of coolant, at $150 a pound.  He could have said we needed a whole new AC unit, which would have cost thousands of dollars, just like the other 3 companies said.

He didn't.  He simply was honest, found the root cause of our issue and fixed it.  The whole job was about 15% of what the 3 other companies wanted to charge.

It was great working with someone who really takes pride in their work, is knowledgable and honest.  I won't call any other AC company again, and will refer anyone and everyone I know to Arizona Air Experts!

I requested quotes from several companies. Cool zone was the first to respond and had the soonest availability. I was told a tech would be to my house between 3-5pm the same day I requested the quote. I was delighted at 1:30pm when I got a call saying the tech could make it earlier. It was nearly 90 degrees inside my house when Ryan arrived. He got right to work and had the problem solved and repair completed before 3pm! He stuck around and chatted for a little while to make sure that the temp was dropping in my house. He was very nice and professional. I would definitely recommend cool zone to anyone needing AC repairs!

Technician was great! He repaired my AC unit swiftly, even went  the extra mile to make a return visit later that evening  when the temperatures  the house was not holding. He ever contacted me the next morning  to assure my AC  system was working perfectly.

Apologies as I am a couple months late here but couldn't miss giving Gladiate Air a review... Back in early winter when we had a few cold snap days, I turned on the heat on our dual HVAC systems. I was surprised to see both systems failed exactly the same way. Not being an HVAC person, I was pretty well convinced the problem was in our thermostats since a coincidental furnace failure of the same type in both furnaces would be against the odds. After a week, I gave up being a furnace expert and called Gladiate Air (thank you, Yelp). A quick, smart professional showed up right away and diagnosed our problem as a faulty control panel on each furnace... most likely due to age (12 years) and dust accumulation. One panel dead and I sure appreciate his efforts to resurrect the second panel... but ultimately both replaced... and his supervisor stopped by to check on the work being done. Price seemed very fair and house was left clean by our polite, friendly fixer. Thanks Gladiate Air!

These guys are legit, the guy that came knew his stuff, was super friendly and was in and out very quickly. Showed up in a mask, didn't make a fuss about it, and educated me on a couple of things. fair price, good people, will be calling again if i have an ac problem

I found This company online after another HVAC company was unable to figure out why my AC unit was leaking from the return vent. David was able to figure it out and corrected the problem. After doing that I had him service the unit. He informed me at that time there were many issues with it. So I had him replace with a brand new one. Upon the first installation attempt, he was able to see a plumber was needed to cap a water line. He was able to refer a plumber who capped water lines and wound up replacing my hot heater that was in VERY bad shape. All this was especially helpful as I am an absentee landlord. Excellent service, great work and reasonable pricing. Highly recommend!

The quality of their work cannot be beat. When no other company could figure out what was going on with our A/C, they had it diagnosed and working in 20 minutes. They now have my total business for all A/C and Swamp Cooler problems as well as doing regular maintenance on the system for the future. I highly recommend them.

Chase was awesome. The cooling function of our AC unit went out and Chase was at our home within a couple of hours. He diagnosed the problem (which was on the roof), found and purchased a new condenser fan, and had the repair complete within two hours total! They are communicative, knowledgeable, and friendly. Pricing is fair, especially for emergency services in this heat. Would use again and recommend to anyone in the area.

Sometimes the best AC guy is the one you don't end up using. Our AC died the other day, obviously a huge problem if you live in Arizona. We didn't end up working with him, but I was super impressed with his honesty and advice. He made a real effort to get the AC manufacturer to get us a new unit via warranty. In the end, that wasn't successful, but he shared his insight into how much we should pay for a unit and how to proceed. I wouldn't hesitate to reach out if I needed AC help.

Ideal Energy has excellent customer service.  I had my air ducts and insulation replaced and that went great. Everyone I worked with was great. The overall cost was pretty pricey but did fall in line with the other estimates I'd received. The only issue I had was after the air ducts and insulation had been replaced, by whole house smelled like gingerbread.  They came out to check it out and said everything was fine. I'm not sure where the smell was coming from but I do know it wasn't there before the ducts had been replaced.  It's since disappeared though so that's good.   Every so often, when the air kicks on, I'll hear crinkling noises coming from the vents but I think that just the new duct work moving.   I don't know how well I'll do on my electric bills as it's not peak time yet but time will tell if this was a good investment.

I moved into a new home that had a single unit on the roof with two stories, and my main concern was air flow. I had 6 different companies give me a diagnostic and quotes (the high end being 12K to fix duct work and add insulation) and nobody had one singular way to fix the problem I had. I reached out to Desert Comfort and they sent Sean, their air-flow guru to take a look at the system. He explained the poor design, the lack of access and the air flow issues. He also was realistic about what results I could expect, and how my system was choking with only a single return. He obviously had been doing this for decades and can work by feel. He said he would write up the scope of work.

I worked with Joseph Albertson who is the Customer Relationship Manager. He was nothing short of fantastic. We traded multiple emails back and forth,t he quote was upfront and reasonable, and I ended up adding on a few services and he guided me away from options that would only cost me money.

The crew arrived at 6AM, Sean and a partner. They go in my attic, added a new return, did an air balance, added a remote thermostat. While on top of the roof checking the system they spotted an issue with a line backup and a pound of refrigerant being low. Everything was informative and no salesmanship, I opted to have them take care of the issues on the spot. Joseph's first concern was our experience with the onsite. It was fantastic. E-invoice was easy to pay, clear to read, and this company was a pleasure to deal with. They don't advertise and they work via word of mouth and by their yelp reviews. Compared to the dozens of shady outfits in PHX that crowd out the good providers, these guys are a great provider.

What a pleasure to deal with a company that communicates so thoroughly. I made the appointment and they scheduled a service call the very next day, immediately confirmed via text, with the name and photo of the service tech. Also, texted me when he was on his way. Joseph was one of the most professional service techs Ive dealt with in a very long time.
He completed every aspect of the serve call, explained each step and ensured that I had no questions before he left.

I had attempted to install an ecobee3lite thermostat and had difficulty and was stuck.
We had previously had Rising Sun air, out for an unrelated problem so I called them for help.
Pam in the office said she thought a technician was currently in Scottsdale and asked if she should contact him, I told her that would be appreciated.
As it turned out the technician could be at my house within the hour (my lucky day) to help me out.
As it turned out he determined that my air conditioner was incompatible with the ecobee3lite themastat, so he reinstalled my original thermostat for a modest service fee.
I'm totally happy with their service and personal and will highly recommend them to family and friends.

The communication with the office and the field technician  could not have been better or clearer.  I'm very satisfied with the service and will be sure to highly recommend them to family and friends.

Recently moved to AZ and of course, our AC has an issue.  Matthew from. Sure Temp Air was out on time, diagnosed the issue quickly, and executed the repair.  znixe to know we have a reliable AC vendor so close.  I highly recommend them!
