We've never felt it was important to spend a lot of money on advertising and promotion because in doing so, we would have to take our prices up to cover the cost. Instead, we've built our business strictly on referrals! For us, quality customer service is more than just being satisfied with the service you received. Our ailing 15-year old AC unit finally reached end of life (i.e. bad compressor), so I logged into Yelp to search for options. I quickly identified 5 heating & air conditioning contractors with Yelp ratings of 4.5 or better, and 50 or more reviews. I also reached out to friends and family for recommendations.

Alan's Air presented with 91 Yelp reviews and a 5-star rating. A visit to the Better Business Bureau website revealed an A+ rating, and the Arizona Registrar of Contractors website showed no adverse actions. Alan's Air (Alan and Mike) was the first of the 5 candidates to respond by email, appear on the property for an inspection, and provide a written proposal. After carefully evaluating all offers, I accepted the bid from Alan's Air based on their (i) impeccable record, (ii) long history in the Phoenix Metro area, (iii) prompt responses and (iv) competitive, straightforward pricing.

Alan's Air technicians Bill and Mike appeared on the property today and completed the installation flawlessly.

This is the best AC maintenance and repair company I have dealt with. They are prompt, knowledgeable and ethical. They will not upsell you thing that you don't need. I manage a couple of rental units and I recommend them to all the yelp community.

Update on my review. Even though it's not fixed, they went above and beyond. Alan has come to my place 2 times to attempt to fix it. He has tried different methods, the issue is not with my unit but it is with the HOA settings for my chiller unit. Unfortunately out of my control, however Alan offered so much support and he attempted to flush the system in hopes it works. Thank you so much for trying!!  
Not to mention, he came on Father's Day. I felt so bad because it was not my intentions to make them come on a Sunday but I am overall grateful. Definitely will use them again.

Sometimes the best AC guy is the one you don't end up using. Our AC died the other day, obviously a huge problem if you live in Arizona. We didn't end up working with him, but I was super impressed with his honesty and advice. He made a real effort to get the AC manufacturer to get us a new unit via warranty. In the end, that wasn't successful, but he shared his insight into how much we should pay for a unit and how to proceed. I wouldn't hesitate to reach out if I needed AC help.

Fantastic service, timely work and arrival, great communication, will be using Alans air as long as they are around. Having a good AC guy in the state of Arizona is a lifeline in itself so do yourself a favor and give them a call if your AC needs servicing You will not regret it

This is the third time I have used Alan's Air and they have never let me down.  They are always on time, friendly and love dogs, great pricing, do not try to rip you off and did a great job fixing my heat pump. Alan's Air is the company you need to call when you ac acts up. 5 stars.

I called Alan's Air to have an A/C unit repaired. Bill came out and told me that my A/C unit was froze up, that it needed freon, and that my expansion valve was leaking and needed to be repaired at a cost of $800-$900. Thankfully I had called another company to get a second opinion. That company was able to get my A/C working, double checked  my expansion valve, and confirmed it was not leaking. He also said that Alan's Air put too much freon in and over shocked my unit which could have done damage.
Feels like Alan's Air was trying to sell me something I didn't need.
Not sure how this could have happened given all their good reviews, but I can't recommend them given my experience.

Can't say enough about Alan's Air. I called them from out of state because my elderly mother, who lives alone in Scottsdale, was experiencing problems with her air conditioner when the temperatures were well above 100 degrees. They sent someone out right away, identified the problem and gave her an estimate that was thousands of dollars below an earlier estimate she had received from another company. Outstanding customer service. Highly recommend them.

One of the worst experiences I have ever had so I had to write a review.  For a solid week in late June I did not have air because of their poor communication and them not caring.  The red flags showed up early when they were suppose to show up at 9am but didn't show up until 4pm.  At that point it was too hot to fix the problem so I had to deal with a 90+ house and oh yeah they charged a service fee. They showed up two days later to fix a fuse that popped less than 24 hours later and guess what charged a service fee.  Showed up two days later to tell me they will not return and guess what charged another service fee.  Called another company that showed up the next morning that fixed the problem a fuse and one bad wire. What a disappointment Alan's air was. Wasted so much time waiting around for them and charged me so much money to do barely anything.

I've worked with Mr. Allen (not Alan) on two different occasions. One was during the summer when my AC stopped blowing cold air. Mr. Allen properly diagnosed that my freon was out and he refilled it right away.

The second occasion was yesterday. Water was leaking from my AC filter. Again, Mr. Allen was able to diagnose that there was clog and he was able to identify that the clog was in my bathroom sink. He vacuumed the clog out of my sink and my AC was magically working again with 0 leaks.

I'm not a 15 year old boy, but there's only one word for Mr. Allen: clutch.

This company really saved the day. My a/c went out and the first thing I did was contact my home warranty. The system was running but not blowing cold air. Then my home warranty sent out a company 3 days after my air went out only to tell me that it was going to take another 3-5 to fix the problem, so I had to take another route. On top of that they told me they had to complete a 300 dollar maintence charge in order to fix the problem (which was not true). I contacted Alan's air and they responded immediately and were able to give me a quote for what the home warranty tech told me it would be. Gave them the model and serial number of the unit and gave me a quote through Yelp. Since it was over 100 degrees each day and 95 degrees in the home this had to be fixed immediately. Alan's air was able to come out the next day and complete the job. They were very nice, efficient and fairly priced and were at my house the next day. Problem fixed in a couple of hours! I will defiantly use them again for any HVAC problems I have. Thank you!

I can't say enough great things about Alan's Air!  We've been using them for years, from basic preventative check-ups on our units to full replacements of a furnace and compressor in two diff. homes.  They are super responsive when you call them, and Bill is able to diagnose the issue each time within a few minutes. Then they're able to fix the issue right away, too!

Alan has a customer for life! Fuse kept blowing on my AC and the company I normally use recommended replacement on a 7 year old unit. Called Alan for a second opinion and he a) discovered the issue immediately (faulty wiring) and corrected it and b) called Trane and found out the unit was under warranty for another 3 years. I would recommend Alan and his team to anyone and everyone!

Alan's air is legit. They came out to help my father in his time of need. We had 2 other companies came out prior to Alan's Air and offer a bid. They were way above what my father on a fixed income could afford. Alan's air came out and quoted us multiple options for us. Their pricing was beyond fair. They also rushed the order and installed it super quick due him being elderly, which was impressive (they run a small crew). Bill, Alan, and marcel (Scheduling) definitely rock. We would definitely recommend.

Alan's Air was amazing. Alan answered my call on a Saturday. He then checked out what we needed to get done the following day Sunday. Then he got Bill to come out that next day Monday and he started working on our vents!

We needed our job done quick and with no notice. Alan's Air was there to save us. Every other company that came out to the job kept saying we needed a new A/C unit; which was SO not the case. We knew we only needed new duct work. Alan's Air was one of the only companies that actually listened to what we needed done. On top of that, they were extremely well priced!

Bill was super communicative and so nice. I really enjoyed working with them and will continue to seek out their services for our future projects; as well as, recommend them to my family, friends and clients.

Alan Schwandt showed a complete disrespect for my time and my property.  He arrived 32 minutes ahead of the appointment time and then called me to ask where I was.  I informed him that I was just 2 minutes away on my way home from an errand.  When I drove up, I  found him making himself comfortable on my front patio furniture (he set up cushions that I normally have folded away when not in use) instead of waiting in his van.  What a careless and disrespectful attitude, especially during this Covid spike!  I can't imagine what this guy would do once inside your house.

WOW! 10/10 service from Alan's Air!

Our AC broke around 7am and I called them around 8:30am. Alan's Air said they would come between 12-2pm. I assumed they said that time frame because they would be coming at 2 BUT NO they came at 12!! I was pleasantly surprised and soo happy that they were there- the man that came to fix the AC was so friendly and got right to the problem and knew how to fix it- he was probably here for 30-45 minutes max to fix everything we needed. He was interactive but also knew he was there to get a job done. I will be calling Alan's Air for the rest of my AC troubles because the process was so easy. I would give them more stars if I could! Our AC has been working since the moment he left. The pricing was reasonable and it was an overall great experience.

After an inspection from another company told us we needed a new blower motor for our AC, we got quotes from many providers in the area. Alan's Air gave us the best quote so we knew right away they weren't up-charging. Even better, when they came out to install the new blower motor they discovered that we didn't actually need one at all, and did a simpler, much cheaper repair for us. They were friendly, honest, and did not try to up sell us- even when we were the ones requesting a new motor because of what the other company had told us. It's hard to find customer service like this nowadays. We will be sure to use them for all of our HVAC needs in the future.

So we just got back from vacation on Friday and then Saturday afternoon one of our AC units started making a pretty loud sound from it. i checked the air and it was still blowing cold air. 30 minutes later there was no sound coming from the AC unit but it was still blowing air, just not cold anymore.
i went on Yelp and reached out to a bunch of different AC companies but Alan's air answered my call immediately and said they could come over Sunday morning. On top of that they were by far the cheapest company to come out on a Sunday.
The next day came around and Alan himself called me letting me know they were running a bit late but would be over as soon as they finished another job. An hour later Alan showed up and was super friendly. They heard what we said was going on and hopped up on the roof and diagnosed it pretty fast as a we needed a new starter kit and dual capacitor. He could've easily told us we needed a new compressor or more but was super honest. Him and his partner finished the job by checking our other unit as well and added freon to both. Alan said everything else looked fine with the units and we were all set. great experience and we will use Alan for all of our AC needs in the future. Thank you Alan!

We highly recommend Alan's Air! Their response time was great...they followed through and showed up when they estimated. Their customer service is on point. We ended up changing our plan at the last minute (and went with an authorized dealer so we could save $ and be under warranty, ) and they were understanding and so kind. They gave us a portable AC unit in the mean time (until our appt) and we will highly recommend them to everyone that asks!

Alan showed up wearing a mask and on time! We have had issues with our air conditioning off and on for 5 years now and havent had anyone out that I felt confident was giving me sound advise. I searched Yelp and found Alan's Air. I am happy to say that I finally feel like I have found a company that knows what they are doing, can do the work that needs to be done and offer great pricing! Alan was great!  Our AC went out and he was here the next day. He diagnosed that it was a broken fan motor and then worked with the manufacturer to get the part covered under the 10 year warranty. He communicated with us the whole time and the entire experience was great!  Highly recommended!

I've had a fantastic experience with these guys. They're extremely responsive, friendly, and efficient. Each time I've had a problem with my A/C, they've responded within an hour (even when contacted in the evening) and been at my house within 18 hours. They haven't tried to nickel and dime me or sell me on an expensive solution I didn't actually need; their focus was solely on helping me fix my A/C problem. Highly recommend!

My AC stopped working and the house was 90 degrees. They came out and in less than 20 minutes it's up and running again for way less than I was expecting. Happy to recommend to anyone.

In a world of HVAC companies that just want to sell you a new units Alan's air is the outlier. He has fixed three of my units which other companies just wanted to sell me a new unit. One unit I was told was leaking and it would be so expensive to find the leak and then if it leaked out again... Alan came out and put a starter kit on it (it was full of freon!) and now it's working perfectly.

I am SO GLAD to have found Alan's Air to come out and service my rooftop Trane AC unit!

Last week I had called another company (Day and Night) to come do a check on my unit, since I had just moved into my house and wanted to make sure there were no major issues before the summer heat really set in. They said the unit is working well, but was very dirty and needed to be cleaned soon to keep it from breaking and running at peak efficiency. The red flag came when they quoted a price - $800 to clean the blower fan and coils! Since that seemed very high I declined and called around to a few other companies.

Fortunately Alan's Air was one of these companies and quote me $250 to clean the indoor coil and blower fan (even I knew that the compressor coil was on the outside of the unit and easy to clean myself). Bill came out the next day, took a look at both parts of the unit, and found that the indoor coil was a little dirty but nothing major and the blower fan was nearly spotless. He cleaned the indoor coil, telling me that its actually very easy to do this unlike what Day and Night said, and since the blower fan was already clean and didn't need to be cleaned only charged me half of the original quote too! This is a perfect contrast of the best and worst in HVAC contractors.

I'm absolutely going to use Alan's Air for any maintenance or repairs of my system as long as I live in the area. I'd recommend everyone else do the same!

Thank goodness Alan's Air is open on weekends! Woke up on a Saturday morning at 4 am to the sound of drops of water coming from my a/c filter vent. Shut down the thermostat and found what turned out to be about 10 gals of water in my HVAC ductwork directly over our living room. While I wet-vac'd the water from the ductwork, Alan's Air sent Bill out within a few hours; before my house even heated up 10 degrees from the morning. Bill immediately found the problem: a clogged drain on the unit and fixed it. He was here and gone in about 15 minutes. The cost was even less than I was quoted on the phone! We're going to need to replace our A/C unit in the next year or so, and Alan's Air will be our first call for an estimate.

Based on the other reviews here I scheduled Alan's Air to inspect and service my A/C system (maintenance check up) and repair the damaged fins.  I spoke with Alan -- he seems like a great guy who knows his stuff and I was very much looking forward to him doing the work.  

Alan referred me to the office manager Marcel to schedule the appointment.  I was scheduled for last Tuesday.  Marcel called me the day before to tell me they had to reschedule due to a truck issue.  I said no problem and we rescheduled for that Friday.  I called to confirm the appointment the day before and Marcel told me oh, I was going to call you to cancel.  Marcel said they received some last minute A/C breakdown calls that (according to them) take priority over maintenance and repair calls, even though it wasn't that hot out during those days.    That policy would have been good to know in advance so I could have avoided losing a week of time.

I asked if they could come over on Saturday -- Marcel said they were booked up.  I asked when they could reschedule and was told he had no idea.  He told me that if they received break-down calls any appointment I had would get cancelled and pushed back....not a great option to leave me hanging indefinitely.  I asked Marcel to let me know by the end of the day (Friday) when they could reschedule my appointment as I needed my A/C serviced/repaired and couldn't / wouldn't wait indefinitely having already waited patiently for a week.   Marcel never called back....so much for customer service!

I reached out to Alan's through yelp for my commercial space. They worked with me on a date to come out and service my office units. We scheduled this by email and I gave them the point of contact to call for the person they would be meeting at our office. Today was our appointment between 9:30am and 2:30pm. No one showed up. I called at 3:30 and the first person told me that they came to my office and no one was there so they called and when they couldn't reach anyone they rescheduled the appointment for the following day. When I told them that it was insane to reschedule an appointment without checking with the customer they told me that they were in a meeting and would have someone call me back later. Someone else called me back and then told me that no one actually showed up to my office. They called first and when they couldn't reach anyone so they cancelled the visit. The visit that had been scheduled and confirmed by email and confirmed again over the phone last week. No one attempted to reach me by phone or email. They just decided not to show up wasting an entire day for us. Very disappointed.

ALWAYS get 3 opinions!

I was referred to Alan by Johnny's Air, another local guy who does repair and had great reviews. We recently bought a new condo and was told by two repair companies that the entire unit (wasnt blowing warm air) needed to be completely replaced for over $7000, or they could repair it for several thousand.

Alan came out to check it out, and was super impressed by the rare and unique system. He said that although he had only seen a few of them like this, he thought he could fix it.

Sure enough, he could and the price tag was substantially less than any other quotes - which were just lazy in my opinion!

Absolute life savers! Our AC unit died right before the 4th of July. We tried calling around a couple places and Alan's Air was the only one who responded. They got us a quote super fast and the price was very fair. Because the wearhouse that had the unit wasn't open they couldn't do the install for a few days, so they came and dropped off a portable AC unit to get us through the weekend. We wouldn't have made it through the weekend without it! They just finished up an install that took a fraction of the time we expected and our new unit is pumping out blessedly cool air. We can't recommend Alan's Air enough. From top to bottom everything was fantastic!

After a power hit last week Sunday our A/C would not come back on after repeatedly trying, the A/C system is just 3 years old. Found Alan's Air on Yelp. Two techs, Alan & Drew showed up within promised time. They were both friendly and professional. While Drew was on the roof checking the unit Alan turned the air on... it started working. They went ahead and inspected the  system, got into the attic and made sure there was nothing obviously wrong. I worried because of the nightmare experience we had with Parker & Sons 3 years earlier not to mention the expense. Alan made himself available in case the air stopped working again. My husband determined from their conversations  that Alan was very knowledgeable and experienced. Alan's Air is now on my contacts list of my phone.

About 11am this morning I noticed my thermostat creeping up and the compressor not sounding right.  Bill from Alan's air just left, now 1500 and all is working fine!  Great price and great, honest service. The old capacitor went out and that caused the compressor to overheat and flip the thermal switch.  Thank you!  Will be recommending you to any and all that need AC repairs.

Had my annual AC tune up few weeks ago, that company said it was low on coolant and there must be a leak somewhere. Their estimate was extremely expensive, so I looked for a reputable company for the service call. Found Alan's Air and setup an appt.  Alan checked the system, found it was not low on coolant, meaning there's no leak at all.  I'm so grateful for their honesty!!  I will definitely call them in the future for my AC tune ups!

My AC unit started dripping water and had another company come out to take a look. They charged me almost $600 for a recharge, and told me I'd need a new unit in another year or so.  A week later, the same issue started up again, and that company quoted me a new unit that I thought was priced high. After looking at some reviews, I called Alan's for another quote, and am I glad I did. Bill came out later that same day, explained the issue, and what was involved in replacement. They then told me it would be almost $2000 less! Unfortunately, I didn't call Alan's first, and paid the price. I couldn't be happier with Alan's honest, professional service, and will definitely use them for all future maintenance and repairs. They are the best, and I'd recommend them to everyone.

I had condensation line pouring water into the dining room. Called Alan's Air and he was able to come over within 1.5 h and fix it beautifully in a matter in 15 min. Not only that - he explained what I can do in the future to prevent this from happening again. I HIGHLY recommend calling Alan if you have AC issue, I will definitely use his service if I have any other type of problems with my air conditioning. Thank You!

They where professional, called before they came to my apt. They call if they're gonna be late or running behind from a previous job. No complaints at all from me with Alan's Air! Quick, honest, affordable and efficient service!  My Air Conditioner broke during this extreme heat and Alan's Air was out in a jiffy. They showed up as scheduled, with masks (which had to be horrible in this heat) and had everything repaired in less than an hour. I will definitely use them for any future needs. I only wish all service calls went like this.

Ok, this place is AWESOME! I called them for a 2nd opinion because the other company I called said that we needed a new unity. Bill came over right away and fixed the problem right away. I was referred to Alan by Johnny's Air, another local guy who does repair and had great reviews. Alans air fixed my ac problem with honestly and professionalism. I will use them again. Its not easy to find honest service providers you can trust. My first estimate from another company was $1700.00 but Bob came to the house and fixed my ac for $320.00. Thanks for being honest.

Friday night around 10pm my air handler began making a clunking noise on startup.  I called Alan's air in the morning at 8am and they scheduled me for a visit in the next 3 hours.  Bill gave me a call around 10am and showed up as agreed about 30 minutes later.  He listened to the sound and immediately knew what was wrong.  30 minutes later he made the repair and the air handler was quieter than before the issue started.  The cost was under a $100 and I got back to my Saturday with no stress.  I will always call this company for my ac needs in the Scottsdale area.

My upstairs A/C unit was making a louder than normal noise and I had to get someone out to take a look.  Called Alan's Air around 8 am and they were able to get someone out same morning.  Turns out Alan, the owner, came out along with another gentleman.  Alan immediately diagnosed an issue with the motor and said that it wasn't worth it to repair now.  It could last some time and when it goes out then replace the whole unit.  I also had water in the garage by the air handler.  This was not related to the A/C motor and as timing would have it, the drain pipe for the air handler was clogged which caused water to build up and spill out.  Alan was able to tell me what happened and fixed the issue.  What's most amazing about all this is that Alan did not charge me anything for the service and help.  Truly great customer service and someone I will definitely be calling in the future.  Thank you Alan for the help!

Alan called me back on a Sunday!  I decided to make an appointment for during the week due to scheduling conflicts.  The tech called after finishing his previous job to let me know he was on his way.  The tech was quick to diagnose a lack of refrigerant due to a missing O-ring, and replaced both.  Quick, friendly, honest, and professional service.  I will be sure to do business with again.

In town visiting my elderly father's house. AC was pumping heat not even room air temperature. I arrived to a 94 degree house on an 80 degree night.

Called at 9:15 AM. Got an 11:00 AM appt. Bill called first and then showed up exactly on time.

The AC unit is 25+ years old but Bill identified the unusual failure, ran to the shop to get the part and fixed it quickly.

Will definitely use them again. No brainer.

Alan is the best! A/C went out on a Wednesday morning, I had another company come out that afternoon and tell me that the compressor and fan motor were broken and that I'd need a new $5,000 air conditioner. I called Alan's Air that night at about 5:00pm to get someone out there for a second opinion, and Alan was out there the next morning at 8am. Turns out the compressor was not broken at all and just the fan motor needed to be replaced, for a fraction of what an entire new A/C unit would have cost. Alan was prompt, professional, and excellent at his job. Alan is extremely trustworthy and will be my go to person from here on out, thank you Alan's Air!

Thrilled! Came next day, speedy check, nominal cleaning and see ya in winter to make sure switch to heat goes fine. I have tried soo many companies- one told me to call back next week bc they couldn't be bothered to schedule me when I called. Another quoted me $2000 for preventive maintenance on units that are still running fine, Alan's says they don't even need freon. Found my new a/c company!!!

I have a home warranty (Home Choice Warranty) - my condo AC unit stopped blowing cool air (it's 117 outside).  I called the warranty company for service.  Six hours later - they said the soonest I could get service would be 3 days from the time I called.
Another local AC company recommended I call Alan's Air.
They arrived and fixed my problem within 3 hours of my call.  They also charged a very fair price for the immediate work and Relief received!
If I have any issues with my AC - I'm calling Alan's Air!!  They were professional, prompt and saved us from this terrible heat. Thank You!

Cannot say enough about Alan's Air! He gave me advise over the phone as to how to check something on my AC unit and saved me a ton of money! Other companies were trying to charge me a service fee to come out and $500+ to check the unit! So many of these companies are a scam, even ones with good reviews. I will only be having Alan's Air come out from now on! He is a small business, only has 4 employees and they don't work off commission!

Called Alan a couple weeks ago after buying and moving into a new house because there was no air blowing through the vent in the master bathroom.  He asked if I could meet him the next morning at 8am, I drove over to meet him and he was there right on time!  He checked out the problem and called me to say the duct was crushed and just needed a small new piece of duct.  He tried to find the exact type of duct but they don't sell it anymore so he ran a new duct line and did all this for about $100, I was expecting much worse.  He is honest, well priced, and a great guy to work with.

I just called him back this afternoon and he was here within a couple of hours when I asked if/how we could get any more air to the bathroom so he came and adjusted all our vents so that all rooms are getting equal air and it is now working great!  He gave us a few other possible suggestions on how we could improve air flow easily and went out of his way to make us a happy customer, this is 5+ stars in my book, especially for a contractor, he is great!

Heat pump went down on Sunday morning and I called Alan and he was at our house in 2 1/2 hours.
Fan motor on outside unit went out also checked out second unit and found it was low on freon.
I recommend Him highly. He knows his stuff.
Very fair on pricing. No like a lot of companies in the pass that ripped me off.
I have been in Az 44 years and know about the other companies how they operate out here.

Had another company cancel twice on us for an AC repair/problem.  Waited a week, and got nothing. Found this company via yelp after calling 5 others that were too busy.  Most folks laughed when I asked for same day.  (Late July in AZ 117 degrees) These guys came out twice in the same day to figure out my condensation valve issue.  Will use them and them only form this point on. I was desperate and price wasnt even a concern but these guys were priced very very fair, for sure.  Super nice people, you can tell its a family run business.  Not one issue from the initial phone call to the final visit.  They called, texted and emailed to keep me on the loop as to when and who to expect visits from.  Awesome!!  All in the same day

AC kept blowing warm air during afternoons. Had 4 different companies come through home warranty, all would come in the morning even though i asked them to come in afternoon so they could see the problem. They all said I could take the appointment I got or wait days for an afternoon one. Of course none of them found anything wrong with it. Called Alan's air out of pocket and they called me back the same day, tech (Bill) called to ask what was wrong and he told me to call him when it was blowing out warm air. He came out at the end of the day within an hour of me calling him and was able to diagnose the problem, overheating compressor. They changed out the part within two days. Awesome customer service.

WOW!!!  It doesn't get any better ~ came home on a Saturday afternoon to find that the AC unit wasn't working ~ during the hottest week of the summer!!!  Called Alan at 5 PM, he picked up the phone himself, said he was finishing up a job just 3 miles away and would be over.  At 5:40 PM he had been here, identified the problem, fixed it and was on his way home!  After a quick review, he determined it was a swollen capacitor ~ and then he opened the unit, and there was the swollen capacitor.  Friendly, pleasant, prompt, efficient, knowledgeable ~ exceptional service in every way ~ would highly recommend!!!

I called customer service to set an appointment for an estimate because i needed a new hvac system to replace the old worn out one. Bill arrived and was the one who installed the new system. So refreshing to have a competent, reasonably priced, friendly and prompt A.C. company.  Alan and Bill are super nice and thorough.  I wanted to buy a new A.C. since mine was from the mid 80's and he explained the different types as well as ways to install which after a few estimates, allowed me to understand the short cuts other companies were making.  The price was very competitive and they have been very responsive the entire time as well as after install.  I will definitely use this company ongoing for any service I may need!

Fast service, reasonable priced and friendly service. He's the only air conditioning guy I will ever use from now on. Fast service and he was so HONEST. One of our units went out and our home warranty wouldn't get someone out till Monday. We called Alan and he was out within an hour and a half. He explained everything to us and made sure we understood what we needed and why. If we would have waited till Monday it would have been 1500 or more! SO GLAD we called him. My air conditioner stopped blowing cold air, I called Another LARGE company to come out and take a look. The other company's technician told me that the motor is completely fried and I have no Freon. He said it will cost me thousands to get up and running and because it's an old unit, it wouldn't be worth it. I asked him if he put Freon in it, if it would run, and he said no because the motor isn't running, and I would need 9 pounds of Freon. He said my only option is to get a new unit, and his supervisor will come tomorrow to give me a quote.... I paid the diagnostic fee and he left. I then called ALAN's AIR, told them that I would like a quote for a new AC, when the tech Bill arrived he asked me what I was diagnosed with, I explained the motor and Freon issue. He said he saw Freon in the unit, and the fan is blowing so the motor is fine. He said let me REALLY take a look. He found one of the wires was bad, and ONLY put a couple Pounds of Freon that it needed. After my AC was working like new... Alan's Air went above and beyond, I didn't even ask for a diagnosis or repair, only a quote for a whole new unit, they could have went the easy route but they were honest!!! The other large chain company blatantly lied to me, made up a complete false diagnosis, and insisted my only option was buying a brand new unit. Alan's Air saved me thousands, repaired my current unit, and had integrity! I would recommend them!!

This is a real story from today... I had gotten a quote from AC by J just two days ago.  They charged me $135 just to come look at the unit. Then these jokers quoted me $7-8k to replace my AC.  Seriously, that's $8,000 dollars.  

Alan's Air fixed it for $450.  He honestly saved me $7,000.  The guy is honest, fast, reliable, and just a real nice guy.  I will always call him going forward!!!!

I sent a request for a quote to Alan's Air early on a Sunday morning after my A/C quit working during one of our wonderful 115 degree days. Alan called me back within an hour and was out to my house within 3 hours to fix the problem. They changed my capacitor and my A/C was cooling my house within minutes. Alan was courteous and his price was reasonable especially given it was a Sunday and he was slammed with everyone having problems with their A/C's due to the extra warm weather.

we contacted Alan's air after having another company come out who quoted us 5 times to fix our AC unit.  The other company even suggested we replace our AC unit at $8k since they mentioned the repair costs would be over third of the cost for new unit.

Alan was able to just replace the capacitor in under 30 min and costs me 5 less than what AC by J quoted in shorter amount of time.

What a fantastic company!  I discovered one of my units not working on a Sunday.  I read several yelp reviews of AC companies, I chose Alan's Air to contact.  Alan promptly answered the phone and had one of his tech's, Phil, call me.  Phil was at my home quickly.  He was very friendly and informative.  He replaced my AC motor in less than an hour!  I felt that the price was very fair, and honest.  Phil was great!

We discovered an air filter was never installed in a house we acquired.  The house was flipped three years ago and the filter was never installed.  When I installed the filter, i started to get whistling noise, so I called Alan (he answers all of the phone calls!),  He diagnosed the problem over the phone - he was sure it was because of the dust that had accumulated in the furnace due to lack of a filter.  Alan promptly sent one of his service people who cleaned out all of the accumulated dirt.  Not only did the whistle go away, the furnace is running much better now.  I could not be a happier customer with the great service, prompt attention to the problem furnace, and quick resolution.

My actual rating is a 4.5 out of 5 stars....but they didn't give me an option for that.

With the recent cold spell (12/31 to 1/2), we had been running out heat quite a bit.  Unfortunately, my heater started to act up on New Year's day.  On Jan 2nd, it no longer produced any heat.

I called two other places first because they were in Fountain Hills and I thought they might be able to come over sooner.  No such luck.  Then, I called Alan's air.  

I was fortunate to catch Alan while he was near my home.  He was over within 45 minutes of my phone call.  From my view, this was EXCELLENT response time and much appreciated!

Within 1 minute, he was able to show me the problem which was related to wiring connected to the Thermostat.  Within 10 minutes, he was able to tighten up the wires and get the heat flowing once again!  I felt he was friendly, honest, and informative about the issue.  He showed me exactly what the problem was and how my unit was occasionally shorting out.  Well done!  Service earned 5 stars in my mind.

The only deduction I could make was 1/2 star for the visit charge of $90.  The charge was in line with other companies so I feel it wasn't unreasonable amount.  For me, this was par for the course in the repair industry with charges for a site visit.  

I feel like maybe he could have given me a little break on the $90 because literally, it was less than 15 minutes worth of work.  But again, I can't fault him for charging full price when all his competitors would do the same.

Alan was great!  We had a problem getting our A/C to turn on as Spring came.  I called him up and he swung by that day to take a peek.  Friendly as all can be and very informative.  Turns out it was a problem with our Thermostat.  He is very reasonably priced and always willing to help find a way to make things the most affordable in any situation - while maintaining excellent quality and service.  I Highly recommend Alan's Air for any of your conditioning needs.

I had another AC company come out to do a tune up.  Less than 24 hours later, my AC (which previously worked fine) stopped blowing cold air.  Alan came out and identified the problem immediately.  The other guys had drained my freon.  Alan helped me understand the issue and advised me on how to get it fixed... Without charging me a dime.  I was able to get the first guys back out to fix the problem they created, but I never would have been able to do that without Alan's honesty.  I will be relying on him for all my AC needs from here on out!

Had a longstanding service agreement with another company, and on their last visit the blower motor *coincidentally* went out.  They tried to sell me a new A/C unit (for more than $7k).  Thinking that I was getting conned by this other company, I called Alan to get a second opinion on the unit.  He came out promptly, and fixed my unit for $90 in less than an hour.  The service was prompt and on time, and he saved me a fortune.  Thank you Alan for being awesome and honest.

Our A/C stopped cooling in one of the units at our house in Scottsdale.  Prior to calling Allen we called a company who said they would arrive by 5 p.m.  They showed up at 9 p.m. and looked at the AC unit in the dark to tell us it would cost around $1500 to repair a leak  and recharge refrigerant.   We told him no thank you and the next day found Alan's number on line.  I called and left a message.  He responded immediately and was at our house in 30 minutes after giving me the choice of that appointment or the next day!!   It took him 20 minutes to test 4 units and recharge one  for a total cost of $200.  BUYER BEWARE of those other companies - call Allen, his service is beyond exceptional - what a difference.

Alan's Air is Awesome!!!  I called Alan's Air on a Sunday morning when my air conditioning stopped working and temps had been in the triple digits for days. Alan answered the phone himself and when I told him the symptoms he first walked me thru what I could do myself to fix the problem, thinking it was one of the fuses to the compressor. I was so impressed and thankful to find a person who would even take the time to tell you what you could easily do yourself to avoid a service call. I did what he said and when that did not work he stopped by within an hour and solved the problem. Alan is a dedicated professional with 35 years of experience and a very kind and honest man who I will recommend over and over!

Horrible customer service.  They did come out the next morning when I called them on Wednesday evening, so their one star was earned for that.  Alan came out with another technician (who left a cigarette butt in my yard right next to my a/c).  He said we needed a new circuit board as ours was fried and he'd call me within a couple days when he receives the board.  He did not give me an estimate at this point, my mistake for not asking for one.  He was at my house for about an hour.  He rigged my air conditioner to run constantly and my husband or me had to go out to the unit and pull the breaker in order to shut it off, making us human thermostats.  Thinking this was only for a day or 2, I was thankful to have a/c at all.  I did not hear from him Fri, Sat or Sun.  I called on Monday to ask about it and did not receive a call back from anyone.  I called again a few hours later on Monday and did not get a call back again, Marcel informed me that they were busy with it being super hot and all and please be patient.  I wait Tuesday, no call.  I call them again on Wednesday and tell Marcel that nobody has still called me back.  Alan finally calls me back saying he just got the board in and wasn't going to pay the $65 to overnight it so he had them regular mail it.  He never communicated this to me until almost a week later, once the board had already come in.  He apologized for not calling me and said someone in the office should have called me, then he assured (he used the word assure) me that they'd be out the following the day to come replace the board.  I arranged to be home on Thursday.  Thursday around noon I still had not heard from them so I called the office and spoke with Marcel, he was very nice, called Alan for me and said that someone could be out there on Friday.  I was livid, I had already arranged to be home on Thursday and could not arrange to be so again on Friday as I had a meeting.  After trying to demand that someone come out Thursday like I was assured they would, I agreed to let them come out on Saturday morning (9 days after they originally came out).  Bill texts me on Saturday morning and tells me it would be $532, and had I gotten an estimate.  I told him no, I was livid once again.  I'm not sure why Alan would not have mentioned the price if it was going to be so outrageous.  Alan called me because I was so upset and said that the best he could do would be to take $50 off of the labor of the bill, but since he had no control over the price of the board, that is all he could do.  Again though, I did not ask for an estimate, so I agreed to this.  Bill shows up to look at the unit and replace the board and tells us that it doesn't even need a new board.  He saw that only one connection was fried and it had other connections that he could use.  He hooked it up, it worked.  Finally.  The board was no longer needed, so they took the price of the board off of the bill and charged me $340.  I texted Alan myself after this to make sure he let Bill know to take the $50 off of the bill, like we had discussed.  He told me that since we were paying so much less than the $532, that was no longer an option.  I texted him back that I was under the impression the $50 would come off of the labor as he had no control over the part price, and he just flat out never responded to me.  Bill spent maybe 30 minutes at my house.  That is 1.5 total they spent at my house, my bill was charged for more than that.  I will never use Alan's air again, and frankly, I am relieved to be done with them.  I then get a bill from them in my email today, 18 days later for $480.  I call the office, livid once again, and Marcel figured out for me that it was an error that Alan made and that I can disregard the bill.  Horrible communication from this company, mainly from Alan himself.  Marcel and Bill were excellent at communicating and very helpful.  I did not find Alan helpful in the slightest and he even told us a new board was needed when one wasn't.  I think Alan needs to retire.

Alan has been servicing our AC for years. It is so nice to know a reliable, friendly, honest and well priced AC man. I will always use Alan and Bill for all my heating and AC needs.

after i cleaned my air ducts and found that there was mold i called Allan to fix the water leak i had in my a/c he was very nice and fix the problem
also did some other things for no charge

Alan is the BEST!!  My heater broke down last year and I had CPM Air come out to look at it and after a year of trying to get them to fix my heater which they quoted me at $650 to replace a part and to replace the thermostat that they replaced last year that doesn't even work, I finally decided to get someone else in after several futile attempts to get them to call me back.  I found out in the process of calling around that I have a very unique chiller system that is rarely used anymore and not too many companies will or are able to repair these units. I ran across Alan's Air on Yelp and he was the only company out of the 4 companies I called that would work on my type of system. He came out, took the piece off and took it home with him and repaired the unit, and came back the next day and installed it, instead of telling me to replace it like most companies seem to do these days and also gave me a new programmable thermostat saving me $400!! I am so glad I stumbled across Alan and I will never use anyone else!!

Of course after running fine for years, my AC decides to die right at the start of June, just as it gets super hot. I found myself in the market for a new repair man. Based on only a few other reviews, I took a chance and called Alan's Air. Well, I'm glad I did. Alan is a genuine, nice person. He explained the problem with my AC unit clearly, and he got it fixed good as new. Reasonable rates. Support your local small businesses; call Alan.
