Horrible customer service. They did come out the next morning when I called them on Wednesday evening, so their one star was earned for that. Alan came out with another technician (who left a cigarette butt in my yard right next to my a/c). He said we needed a new circuit board as ours was fried and he'd call me within a couple days when he receives the board. He did not give me an estimate at this point, my mistake for not asking for one. He was at my house for about an hour. He rigged my air conditioner to run constantly and my husband or me had to go out to the unit and pull the breaker in order to shut it off, making us human thermostats. Thinking this was only for a day or 2, I was thankful to have a/c at all. I did not hear from him Fri, Sat or Sun. I called on Monday to ask about it and did not receive a call back from anyone. I called again a few hours later on Monday and did not get a call back again, Marcel informed me that they were busy with it being super hot and all and please be patient. I wait Tuesday, no call. I call them again on Wednesday and tell Marcel that nobody has still called me back. Alan finally calls me back saying he just got the board in and wasn't going to pay the $65 to overnight it so he had them regular mail it. He never communicated this to me until almost a week later, once the board had already come in. He apologized for not calling me and said someone in the office should have called me, then he assured (he used the word assure) me that they'd be out the following the day to come replace the board. I arranged to be home on Thursday. Thursday around noon I still had not heard from them so I called the office and spoke with Marcel, he was very nice, called Alan for me and said that someone could be out there on Friday. I was livid, I had already arranged to be home on Thursday and could not arrange to be so again on Friday as I had a meeting. After trying to demand that someone come out Thursday like I was assured they would, I agreed to let them come out on Saturday morning (9 days after they originally came out). Bill texts me on Saturday morning and tells me it would be $532, and had I gotten an estimate. I told him no, I was livid once again. I'm not sure why Alan would not have mentioned the price if it was going to be so outrageous. Alan called me because I was so upset and said that the best he could do would be to take $50 off of the labor of the bill, but since he had no control over the price of the board, that is all he could do. Again though, I did not ask for an estimate, so I agreed to this. Bill shows up to look at the unit and replace the board and tells us that it doesn't even need a new board. He saw that only one connection was fried and it had other connections that he could use. He hooked it up, it worked. Finally. The board was no longer needed, so they took the price of the board off of the bill and charged me $340. I texted Alan myself after this to make sure he let Bill know to take the $50 off of the bill, like we had discussed. He told me that since we were paying so much less than the $532, that was no longer an option. I texted him back that I was under the impression the $50 would come off of the labor as he had no control over the part price, and he just flat out never responded to me. Bill spent maybe 30 minutes at my house. That is 1.5 total they spent at my house, my bill was charged for more than that. I will never use Alan's air again, and frankly, I am relieved to be done with them. I then get a bill from them in my email today, 18 days later for $480. I call the office, livid once again, and Marcel figured out for me that it was an error that Alan made and that I can disregard the bill. Horrible communication from this company, mainly from Alan himself. Marcel and Bill were excellent at communicating and very helpful. I did not find Alan helpful in the slightest and he even told us a new board was needed when one wasn't. I think Alan needs to retire.
