Best Heating & Air Conditioning/HVAC in Phoenix, AZ
This is long over due since he fixed our AC three weeks ago! We got a quote from Yelp for help when it was slowly getting warm and he came and fixed it that day. Also he was fair priced and on top of that he only fixed what was necessary and didn't pressure us to buy a new AC. He gave his opinion and said we should save for a new AC since it will last maybe another year. I appreciate the honesty and straightforwardness.

Brian gave us a great price on 2 new units after ours died on us. His team was able to get them both of them installed in one day much to my wife's relief. We had been using a different company prior to this but with the service we received there is no reason to go back.

CW came to repair my home AC this past Tuesday and installed a totally brand new Trane system by 2:30 P.M. today, Friday! The service was both personal and excellent. And, of course, the total contract price was $2k less than I had anticipated. I am ultra pleased with CW, their work, service and cost. I would recommend them to anyone! I got a bargain and am very pleased and satisfied!

Loved John Carey. My heater was blowing cold air. I knew it would be bad as the unit is 15 years old. I'm in a terrible position. Just widowed and laid off off work. He fixed it due to my circumstances from the owner for no charge. Made me cry even more. They are angels. Im truly blessed. I will see if the city has a program. If they do I'm recommending this company to do the job! I will be forever grateful!!

These guys responded very quick and came out same day to fix my AC problem. They gave a second opinion to a different company and fixed the issue.

I had a broken kitchen faucet that was refusing to be removed within its tightly confined home, even with the use of the specialized tool required to do such task from the manufacturer. Edward was not going to be defeated and eventually he found a way to remove the faucet so the new faucet could be installed. Although it took much longer than normal to remove the old faucet the price for the job did not increase and was very reasonable. I would use E. H. Plumbing and Drain Services again when the need arises.

I ordered my new AC unit through Steve at Desert Diamond Mechanical, which has been on back order for about a month. My current AC stopped working, the company sent someone right away to fix the issue and they didn't charge me anything. They took care of me, when they had no obligation to. This is a great, stand up company. I highly recommend them!

Highly recommended for Cooling and Heating services! I just had a complete new system installed and I couldn't be more happier. The process was easy from start to finish. The prices were great along with the service I received. Personable, professional and reasonable.

Just finished having our central air and forced air units checked by NVM. We were very pleased with the thoroughness of the technician, David. He did a great job at listening to our concerns and explaining his process and status. No bait and switch tactics here...just honest folks trying to exceed their customer's expectations.

When they say they warranty their work, they really do! We needed a slight change to the original work (not an error, just some tweaking), and Dave came straight out to help. He found out that we were low on Freon, and that there was a leak from when the original builders installed our unit. He hooked us up with what we needed for a great price. AND fixed our leak for free!! Always such a relief to find great companies to work with. :)

We needed an Ecobee installed at our new older house. Having previously installed one, we attempted to install the new thermostat, but the wiring did not match the instructions. Johnny came out and was able to quickly get it installed and running at the price of a service call. Very happy with the service. Will definitely call again.

Terrific service and unmatched price.
I had my rooftop AC replaced. I obtained 7 quotes.
I obtained several quotes from the AC companies that advertise heavily on TV. Not surprising their quotes were significantly higher (to cover their advertising costs).
I also obtained quotes from AC companies with strong online reviews. Only one company came somewhat close to American Cooling's price but couldn't match American Cooling's warranty.
American Cooling is run by Scot. He picks up the phone when you call. All the other companies I called had a dispatch person answering calls.
Scot has an extensive background in designing and installing large commercial AC jobs. So, residential work is very simple for him. He patiently answered all my questions and promptly responded, even on weekends. I'm so glad I went with Scot's recommendation on unit size and unit type. He didn't try to up-sell me (to make more money) and he didn't try to down-sell me to make a quick sale.
I would trust Scot to replace my elderly mom's AC and highly recommend him to my friends. He relies on word of mouth for business, not advertising. So, he has a strong interest to make sure his customers are happy.
Scott requires his installers to text him a complete set of photos of the finished work before the installer can leave. Scot makes sure the work is done right. He did just that for me. As soon as the work was done, Scot registered my unit.
My new AC unit is 4 months old now and it's keeping me nice and cool during this hot summer.
If you read this far... here's a tip. All AC brands, including Trane, use the same parts. Trane's advertising makes it seem like they're a premium brand. As a result, they're able to charge a premium price. Scot does installs Trane. He quoted me the best price on a Trane unit but he quoted me an even better price on a RUUD unit. Very glad I went with the RUUD unit.

*Same review posted on their main company profile, it appears they have two Yelp profiles*
In late JUNE (it is now August 8th) I had an AC 'elbow' structural repair job quoted, scheduled and confirmed to start this morning on a date when my roof repair guys could also start their job so that the elbow could be foamed over the day it was to be replaced.
Well, this morning I received a call stating they were going to have to cancel the job because the owner did not see enough profit margin on the job and they wanted to perform the more expense repair option they offered me which would have offered a better overall AC air flow but had a significantly higher cost... They had weeks to figure this out to give me a heads up so that other arrangements could have been made prior to getting my roofers out here for no reason. It is also concerning they would approve and schedule this job weeks ago to begin with if the owner would eventually 'turn it down' the day the job was to begin.
I even offered to pay Howard Air $300 extra to do the job that was quoted and scheduled which would be on top of the 400 originally quoted so they could make more 'profit' because time is of the essence and I had my roof guys on site.
I've contracted many jobs on my home and have never had an experience like this come up which is why i created Yelp account to write my first ever review. I'm sure this situation is an outlier for Howard Air but it is flat out ridiculous for them to do this to me and go back on their confirmed and scheduled job in the early morning on the job start date, especially when it involved another roof company to co-coordinate a start date.
Again, they had multiple weeks to figure this out and should be eating any cost on this one since it is 100% on them, they quoted a job and I accepted. My roof guy even talked with them yesterday evening to confirm that we were still good to start this morning for which they said, yes.
Thankfully, my roofer is a very good guy and has told me not to worry about it and we'll re-schedule the whole deal once we figure out the AC repair- He even had his guys on my roof pre-prepping and cleaning the roof so it could be foamed for around 2 hours. If you're in the market for foam roof repair i HIGHLY recommend you call Frans at Ultra Foam.
Howard Air is sending a consultant out this afternoon to re-quote the job but based on principle I highly doubt I'll consider their service, unless they compensate me in price for this whole situation. I'm also still debating whether to write a BBB review based on this experience.
To conclude, if you choose to test your luck with Howard Air, I'd recommend checking in daily prior to your job start date if the actually start date must be meet as they may flake on you too.

The technician was great.
The process in which to get the new tankless hotwater heater is very frustrating. I was lead to believe everything would be completed within a day with a team of technicians. Actually one individual showed up and installed it over two days. The electric plug installed on another day . I also was informed after the install that the gas company inspector would be out within two weeks to inspect the new gas line and then a gas company technician would connect it to the meter and tankless heater. The installation that I was lead to believe would take a day is turning out to be 4 days. The finished installation will not be completed till at least two weeks. However, the technician had me sign the documents saying it was completed (stating it was his installation part that was complete).
Also, I never received copies of the document(s) I signed at the beginning of the process..
Update: After emailing (which was not answered) then calling I was again informed of a different process to complete the installation of the tankless hotwater heater. It will not take at the most 2 weeks and 1 visit it will take the following steps to be completed 1. The permit needs to be approved by Clark County (can take up to 2 weeks). 2. Once approved Goettl will send their inspector out (most of time 1 to 2 days after permit is approved). 3. After inspection wait at least 3 days for ME to call southwest Gas to schedule appointment to attach the new gas line to the meter and water heater. (They do not know how long before southwest Gas can schedule). This is so frustrating especially since I was not informed of any of this during the initial estimate.
They also invoice (due in 10 days) immediately upon the technician installation not the
