Best Heating & Air Conditioning/HVAC in Phoenix, AZ

I hardly ever write reviews. The service has to be extremely poor or good make it worth my time. Cool/Hot Guys Heating and Air were amazing. There were honest, timely and performed amazing work.  Our AC went out at the tail end of the record setting Phoenix summer of 2020. They were able to replace our entire AC with a Trane unit for thousands less than competitors.  I'd recommend them to anyone who is either experiencing an emergency in 110+ temperatures or looking to replace their unit as part of scheduled maintenance.

I called the other day when my AC wasn't working. The person I talked to walked me through narrowing down what the problem was...  two other companies I called wouldn't do that... they were only interested in setting up $100 appointment just to diagnose the issue.

These guys were very helpful and patient and spent 15 minutes with me on the phone, just explaining to me what the problem most likely was and the costs involved in fixing it.

When he found out I had a home warranty, he advised me to go through them, since it would save money on my end. Super great guys... I'll definitely go through them if anything else happens to my AC.

We found mold under some crumbling paint while prepping to paint a bedroom. Wanted to have someone come out and fix as we know how dangerous mold can be. Kyle came out, was extremely informative and alleviated our worries in terms of what needed to be done. Did not try to oversell or do unnecessary work. I would definitely use this company in the future and recommend to others.

Super prompt and honest. Derek was a life saver after our home warranty company left us with no A/C for two weeks. He immediately reached out to schedule a time. He was actually able to arrive before his estimated window of arrival. He diagnosed what was wrong and gave us our honest options rather than the run around we kept getting from other places. He fixed the issue right away which was amazing. I definitely recommend Derek and this company. Phenomenal service

I contacted Cooler Tymes based off of their Yelp reviews.  We had one of our A/C units stop cooling yesterday.  I had my wife contact this company today.  The technician, Mike, came out and my wife said he was very polite and professional.  

After checking everything out he told my wife the TEV or (TX Valve) was clogged and needed to be replaced.  He quoted us a repair (with parts) at $595.00.  My wife told him she would talk to me.  After she called me I said that seemed high and I wanted to discuss with Mike.

I called Mike and asked him what the price was based on.  He went into his industry jargon.  I think they do this to make our heads spin.  I really do not need to know the psi of the Nitrogen he will be using, but he certainly let me know.  I told him I would talk to my wife and get back to him.  Then Mike offered me a deal.  Straight up $500 to fix the unit.  Had to be cash though.  I told him I would get back to him.

I was working and talked to my wife about 30 minutes later and she said she spoke to Mike again.  Now he was offering to fix everything for $400.

So...$595, to $500 and then $400....

Hmmm...sounded sketchy.  It was.  

We called another company and they came out.  Not only was the TEV (TX Valve) not needing to be replaced, but he said that was a scam that some companies use.

He checked the clog and cleared it.  Did a full system check.  Price?  $50.  With tip it was $100.

Very disappointed in what Mike from Cooler Tymes tried to pull on us.

I am all for a company making money for services rendered; however, when the drop the price $200 in 1 hour it seems shady.

If you use these guys, I highly recommend you do your research.

Great service at reasonable prices. Arthur showed up to my house early the day after Christmas and resolved the issue quickly. He cleaned my HVAC system and tested it to make sure it was working at peak performance. I would strongly recommend RMIII AC and Heating. A+

James was very responsive from the beginning and was able to schedule a duct cleaning service fairly quickly after my house was painted fairly. Did a bunch of quote requests from Yelp and James' quote was the most reasonable.

The actual job was done on time and perfectly. Dustin and Chris the two technicians took care to not leave my house dusty after the cleaning and also took care to not damage or scratch my freshly painted walls and ceiling.

Remote diagnostics that were attached to my AC units showed me all the functions were within parameters and there was never an attempt to upsell anything.

We even get pictures of all the vents in all their gory details post job.

Just had an HVAC guy here to do a summertime check up on my A/C unit, before the unit has to work hard over the next few months.  It was a good thing I had him out, he showed me melted plastic and melted wires he found inside the control box.  That's replaced!  Keeping Molly 'n me safe. I've used this company a couple of times since moving in two years ago and have always been happy with their service and their prices have been fair.  They come out the same day or next day of when I call.

The technician never showed up. The picture in this review clearly shows an email with an appointment at 8 AM. At 1050 AM, I got a call from this company dating that their technician was running late but he works be arriving in about 30 minutes. He still never showed up. I posted a bad review here and the owner replied adding that his morning appointments go from 9AM until noon and I canceled on him. Not true. A woman from the office even called me to apologize. Why would they apologize if they did nothing wrong? Normally I would let this go but I won't be portrayed as a liar. The guy was a no show.

Tom was great, called him at 3:45 on a Friday and he helped me find the best solution.  I didn't hire them, but would be at the top of my list.  He was intent on getting me the best solution not just selling product.  

I was looking for a mini-split but sounds like moving ducts on my existing central air is the best choice.  

Thanks Tom for pointing me in the right direction, even if that isn't a sale for your firm.   I appreciate great customer service and honesty.

The day before I was scheduled to move across country, I was informed that my a/c unit had leaked into my downstairs neighbors condo causing damage to their unit. It was a Saturday in August in Arizona. I called another company first who I previously used and was told they couldn't help me until Sunday night. When I contacted Pineapple, I spoke to John the owner who said he would come to my place that night. He came and quickly diagnosed  then fixed the problem. He also did the repairs to the pipe that runs through my neighbors unit. The cost was so far below what I was imagining for an emergency weekend call. I highly recommend Pineapple for the efficiency of the work, the cost, and the kindness they showed to accommodate customers.

Good communication and professional. Wore his mask the entire time which I very much appreciated due to high risk children in the home. He was honest and straightforward with no pressure. Pricing was very reasonable. Definitely be using him for any future AC emergencies or needs.

Excellent timely service in every respect.  Staff and crew very professional.  Took time to explain what they were doing.  Highly recommend and would use them again in future.

Spoke with the owner on the phone. We are another business and need some on going thermostat installs. Gerald was straight forward and polite and said we wouldn't be a good fit. But good dude and would call him for other work and didn't waste a bunch of my time.

Great Company!  Came out quickly and was very fair Pricing and great communication.   Did a tune up on our unit!

Kyle and Jarret showed up on time to install our American Standard 18 SER. Variable Speed Platinum Series Air Conditioner and Heating Unit.
They are very professional, courteous and patient when it comes to answering question us lay people ask, right.
They are very organized, clean and clean up entire area on which they were working.
I also dealt with Garret Cosgrove, there spokesperson at Trilogy at Vistancia. He is very honest, sincere and extremely helpful when looking at air conditioning needs. He is not pushy, very patient and great st follow-up and follow through.
A couple of things to keep in mind, it takes pretty much all day for the install, be patient and understand the pickup of the old unit may not happen till the next day. So be it.
Also the repair, finishing work on the entry to the attic is done by a finishing carpenter and that needs to be scheduled so there are a lot of moving parts be patient, kind and goods things will come your way from this great privately owned business.
Kyle needs to update his photo as he now has 4 youngsters to occupy his spare time.

After much research - both on Yelp and other website searches - I narrowed down my pick to a few companies.  After talking to each of the companies on the phone, I was most impressed with Sorensen.  The lady was helpful, thorough, and knowledgeable - the only one with all three qualities.  Honestly, the other ones had no redeemable qualities whatsoever and they all sounded annoyed to even explain what's included in their maintenance package.  Really?

I basically wanted them to come for an annual maintenance check before the summer heat really kicked in.  We had a rough start.  I was cancelled on then rescheduled; I didn't pick up the phone and respond in time on the rescheduled date to let them know it was OK to come so I was cancelled on again and had to wait another week before they could come back out.  I really just wanted to go with someone else at this point but decided against it - good thing.  TIP: RESPOND to their phone call!!  If not, they just go to the next appointment.  

So third times a charm.  Now, I don't like dealing with A/C people.  We've had issues in the past with other companies and I always feel like they are selling me something I don't need but when you don't know anything about how stuff like this works, what are you going to do?  You know when your A/C works and you definitely know when it doesn't.  That's the extent of my knowledge.

Needless to say, when Brian started telling me everything wrong with our units, I could feel my blood pressure rising and our wallets shrinking.  BUT ... I will say this, he's the only person who has come to our house and explained stuff that was wrong with our units by giving us a straight answer.  How do I know they were straight answers?  Well, I guess I don't.  I may not know much about how A/C units run but I usually do pretty good when I go with my gut and my gut felt like I could trust these folks.  I've always been given the run around about why the heck our units leaked Freon and always thought something was wrong that we had to keep getting it topped off every year.  Brian on the other hand told me exactly what he would do to fix the Freon leak - something that should never happen to your units by the way, which I knew, but no one has ever properly fixed, even when I asked about it.

Even though this visit instead of costing us a few hundred turned out to be a few thousand, we were given an honest answer on our repairs, I felt.  Our living room never feels like it's cooling down during the height of the summer heat.  Even though we're not at peak heat season yet, I really do feel like the units are all running more smoothly.  I guess only time will tell if the repairs really helped but I'm optimistic that it did!  So we had to forgo our Hawaii vacation and opt for something closer to home this year but if our units continue to run as smoothly as it has for the past few weeks, it was certainly worth it!

I will definitely use these folks in the future.
