We had a gate replaced recently.  I did a search via Yelp and contacted a number of professionals.  Lev responded and came over promptly to give us a quote. We chose him and were not disappointed.  When the gate was ready he came to install it. It looks great and works very well!  I'd recommend him.

First Impressions was an alternative to the builder's preferred vendor for our new home, whom we chose for cost reasons. Huge mistake. After initially quoting us approximately $1800 for a custom iron gate for our courtyard, we followed up with them over several occasions during the year it took to build our new house. Every time we checked in with them, the price for our gate went up.  Steel costs, labor costs, different sales guy, who knows. We decided to continue pursuing it with them because they were still cheaper than the builder's vendor. Ultimately, we found a gate/door on Pinterest we liked and asked if they could replicate it. Nope. The curves were too complex, but they offered us something similar with straight lines, for a huge $5300. We swallowed big and signed off, asking for it to be built. During each conversation, we discussed that we wanted a Smart Lock, like those made by August, so we could control the gate access with Amazon Alexa or a phone app. No problem, although they couldn't do it, (why? who knows!) they said we could mount our lock after installation.

After the contract was signed and a $2650 (1/2) deposit was made, the problems began. We were given 3-4 different dates for the installation, each time they either failed to show up as promised, or responded to my phone calls that the gate needed additional work, with barely an acknowledgement that we had waited around all day for them to show up. On the day of the install, the installer was kind of an arrogant smartass to put it bluntly. He said the gate wasn't going to fit in the opening (the sales guy measured wrong, or the construction of the door was wrong). He cut the opening with a lot of damage to the surrounding stucco walls. No they're not responsible for the damage, it's in the contract, you'll have to hire a painter or stucco guy to repair that, I was told. After fuming at the install process with the delays and damage, I acknowledged that the door opened and closed properly and paid the balance of the $5300 contract. I then spent a day with stucco patch and paint trying to make the best of the installation damage.

A few days later I obtained and went to install the August smart lock, only to discover that they hadn't left space for it to be mounted on the back side. The strike plate was in the way, and the frame around the glass protruded into what should have been a standard sized mounting plate. I sent an email to the sales guy and asked it they could correct it. He came and took measurements, and several phone calls later I was told that any changes to the door (so I could mount the lock I'd asked from the beginning!) would result in additional service call and fabrication fees. What? This is a $5300 custom gate. After all their excuses about what they couldn't build, huge cost escalations, delays and damage on the install, I'm being asked to absorb the cost of their failure to listen to and build what I asked for. I couldn't be more disappointed with this company and the way they do business. I was not asking for anything I had not specified from the beginning, and with a custom build, should have been provided with. Phone calls with their customer care were worthless, as was sending them a copy of their own original bid showing extra charges for this type of lock. I was wrong to trust them. I was wrong to pay them before I knew the lock would fit, and they have earned nothing but another bad review for the way they handled this. DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS.

Abraham responded to my request very quickly, came out to assess the job the following day, and completed the job before the end of the week. We flipped two side man gates to swing toward the street and installed self closing springs and gravity latches. I would highly recommend Abraham.

What can I say... Bob and his team were absolutely wonderful!  It took them about a day to install the whole pool fence.  My husband and I love the way it looks.  Bob even came up with a design I hadn't thought of and it worked out perfectly!  I would recommend to anyone looking for a pool fence to call but one company, ACE Fence Co.

You get what you pay for and this project was worth every penny. Although it took a little longer than we thought, Shawn kept us up to date throughout the process. We usually hate dealing with contractors, but you guys are the exception! Thank you!

This company was excellent to work with. They responded quickly, communicated frequently throughout the process, very easy to get a hold of. We even got the gate installed a few days earlier than estimated. The quote matched the final price, and the gate is beautiful! Hope to work with this company again in the future. Paul is the man. After literally spending 4-5 months trying to find someone to build custom cabinet frames for the inside of my VW Bus, and having professional after professional waste my time and jerk me around for weeks on end, I called Paul. I had little hope after all my past attempts with these professionals. I sent him the measurements and was shocked to find he was more than willing to come to me and take his own measurements to make sure. I was pleasantly surprised to see his hippie/Buddhist appearance and demeanor, because to me, it meant decent morals. The work was done VERY timely and finished result was excellent at a MORE than fair price. He came over and installed them and they are rock solid and actually noticeably stiffined the chassis of my tin can on wheels, 73 VW Bus. I'm truly happy to know I have someone like Paul to go to the next time. Sadly its rare to find professionals like Paul, I confidently recommend him to anyone I know needing ANYTHING to do with metal.

Amazing work. I called to have my RV gate fixed after it fell over. Quick response and good price. Alex came out and did such an amazing job, nice to meet and have someone who takes pride in his work. Alex even anchored the pole as it should have been and put in the pipes for the RV gate rods to sit in. Will definitely use Alex for any future gate needs and refer to others in need.

They did a beautiful front porch railing fabrication and installation between two arches.

These guys do great work, everything from removing the old, worn panels to prepping to frame for painting, cutting the new panels to size.  Like-new condition with a fresh coat of paint and composite panels to withstand our brutal sunshine.  I couldn't be happier with the outcome, and highly recommend Gates by Geoff for your gate refurbishing project.

Excellent work. Said it would take 2 days, it took 1 1/2 days to do our 100ft of block wall. Great work, cleaned up well.
I checked out several places, asks for bids.  They were the most expensive, but were the most reliable as well.
Use a licensed contractor, you'll be thankful.

Super responsive and awesome work. Called Ron on Monday gates installed and done before noon Wednesday. Gates look great and seem heavy duty. I would absolutely recommend Ron, he's friendly and fast. One thing he said that stuck with me was get it done right the first time and let me tell you, he doesn't disappoint. Great job Ron!!!

After all the great reviews I set up an appointment with Michael. Unfortunately he never showed up for the appointment and never reached out to reschedule. Eventually we ended up going with another company. I understand sometimes things come up but the total lack of communication was very unprofessional.

I received a quote from John for some door handle swaps only. Unfortunately, the bill reflected the cost was per door swap and not for all 4 even though I specifically asked this question. I spoke to Gina who made excuses but did not resolve my issues.  I think the company should back the quote that was given or at least make a compromise and agree to disagree but that did not happen

The result was $300 is cost for no supplies and 20 minutes of work. Quote was for $75, much more reasonable.

Also paid $340 for sliding latches.

I hope you have a better experience. I also recommend a quote in writing it would have made the transaction more clear.

We love working with Gabe. We hired Dig It Design to completely redo our front yard. Sacred Steel handled all the custom steel work, including edging and planters (rectangle and V-shaped). Gabe was very knowledgeable and executed the work beautifully!
