Best Heating & Air Conditioning/HVAC in Phoenix, AZ

We became familiar with Larson Air because SRP assigned Larson to our home to conduct an energy audit that we requested. A little background about the audit: SRP offers a $99.00 audit (which I later learned usually runs $400.00+); when I first read about the offer, I was skeptical of both the usefulness of an audit and any contractor that we might get assigned to our home, but our curiosity overrode our skepticism. Here's the summary of that process: I'm now a convert to having an audit done, and to working with Larson. The audit was fantastic, and Larson Air made the experience a real pleasure.

Now for working with the lovely people at Larson. After SRP assigned them to our audit, but before I spoke with them, I looked at the reviews here. As I said above, I was skeptical of potential contractors. But the reviews here on Yelp were stellar, so I was hopeful. Then I spoke with Jamie. She was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable; moreover, she seemed enthusiastic about what an audit could do for us. I explained to her that we are aware that we don't have an efficient a/c or pool pump, but that we were not in the market at this time to replace either; that instead, we were interested in finding out problems with our home that we could solve with less expense than replacing an a/c. She didn't seem annoyed by the fact that we weren't planning to use them to replace our a/c, which was gratifying (but I was still concerned that once we had the audit done, the person doing the audit would try to pressure us into making such a purchase).

She set up the appointment and told me that the process would take 3-5 hours. After I got past my initial stunned reaction-- I really expected a quick run-through of our house with some basic hints--e.g., change your light bulbs to LEDs. You really need a new a/c. Put some insulation in your roof. Good-bye.-- I told her that my dad would probably be in town visiting and would like to watch. I was prepared for her to express some doubt or annoyance, but she brightened up and said, We encourage people to walk around with technicians and see what they're doing and what they find! She was not wrong on either count. The process took a little longer than 5 hours, and the technician encouraged my significant other (S.O.) to walk around with him. My S.O. thoroughly enjoyed the process, and thoroughly enjoyed talking with John, our knowledgeable and helpful technician.

Why did the process take 5+ hours? Because John brought all kinds of equipment, including infrared cameras, and a fake door with a fan in it! He put the fake door in place of our front door, and then used the monstrous fan to pull a draft through the entire house so we could see where all the leaks are. (Oh, there are many. So.Many.) He crawled around in the attic. Poked around here, there, and everywhere. Looked at every possible factor relating to energy efficiency. And when he was finished, he had fantastic recommendations. What about the hard-sell for a new unit? None. Not a bit. He said, I know that yall aren't in a position to replace your a/c or pool pump at this time, so here's what you can do now. Wow. Seriously? No pressure? Again, stunned.  

But wait -- that's not all. John sent a follow-up email and asked for our 12-month SRP usage; once we get those data to him, he will then complete a full audit report and send it to us.

One other nice touch: on the day of the appointment, I received both an email and a text that included the name and photo of the technician who would be arriving. That's a reassuring approach that lets one feel more comfortable about opening the door to someone one hasn't met before.

If we ever  need a/c work done that's not covered by our home warranty, we will use these wonderful people. And I will be recommending them to anyone who needs work done.

Bottom line: If SRP is your electrical-utility supplier, take advantage of the energy audit. And cross your fingers that you get Larson Air. They are knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely lovely people with whom to work.

Our AC went out, in July, and the inside temperature of our home was in the high 80s.  We were in desperate need of a repair and saw the positive Yelp reviews for 1st Choice Mechanical.  I reached out and was able to get in touch with someone right away who scheduled an appointment for us.  Within a few minutes, I received a call back that they could get someone out within an hour which is a VERY pleasant surprise.  The technicians were extremely professional and knowledgeable.  Unfortunately, we did need a whole new system, but they were able to create a solution to kick start our existing unit and get some cool air flowing while we waited for the replacement.  I was extremely pleased with all aspects of their service and will absolutely be keeping their information close by for the future!

I love these people!  Fran worked me in on short notice, Juan fixed the problem, my house has never, ever been this cool.  Absolutely zero hassle, just fast and totally effective service, and I doubt you will find a better price for high quality service.  I will never go anywhere else.

My AC unit stopped working over the weekend and Johnny came out on Sunday, was there when he said he would be there and had it fixed quickly. He was very fair with what he charges and you don't feel like you were taken advantage of. Also gave me some additional tips that will help with cooling my house down better. Will continue to use him for all of my HVAC needs as well as recommend him family and friends.

**Above and beyond** My AC had stopped working. Jerry and Nolan came out, listened to all the things I had already tried, breakers, batteries in the thermostat.  They immediately got to work and realized there was a hole and I had a leak. They didn't have the part, but would have it next week.  My biggest concern I explained, was that my daughter was in the hospital battling COVID would hopefully be coming home soon and the attic opening is in my her closet.  After a few minutes, they told me they found a part in AZ and would drive to go get it. Jerry stayed, and started removing the bad part, while Nolan drove to pick up the part.  Let's just say by end of day, my AC was working and they have a very loyal customer who would highly recommend them!!  I can't say enough, thank you so much!

It's very refreshing to met a honest AC repair company.  I have used other AC companies in the past due to free or extremely cheap AC system inspection the repairman always turn into salesman. Celeb was straightforward and found part that was starting to weaken but did not pressure to replace it.

We had a fantastic experience with Dave. He was friendly, informative and helpful. The technicians that did our install were also very friendly and polite. We talked to multiple other companies but decided to go with cool zone because of the amazing customer service experience and competitive prices. Dave even came out after the install to make sure everything was up and running and help us set up our new thermostat. We're glad we went with such a great company and will definitely use them in the future!

So my thoughts are when the house hits 102 degrees, call Heath at Arctic Fox Heating and Air, (623) 533-5718, because he is seriously the best - and honest - and reasonable - keeps you updated, and does what he says he's going to do. We've had experiences with less than honest technicians from other company's and it's just not worth it.  We just gave him keys to the house for three days, and we stayed in an air conditioned hotel!  We completely trust Heath and his team, and have total respect for what he does.

This company did not figure out how to fix the unit and we stayed without AC for 6 days. The person answered the phone was unprofessional. I am not responsible if other people came to the property without permission while the technician was there. The police was notified of this right the way . That's not a good answer!

Dukes of Air handled my air conditioning issue with kid gloves. They scheduled service promptly, they arrived on time (even a little bit earlier than promised), and they did not try to upsell any services.

Kalem was professional, courteous, and polite. He diagnosed the problem, explained what needed to be done, and went about fixing it. When he left, there was no debris left behind.

Wow!  David was awesome and I am now going to use him for all my air conditioning needs!  He was super responsive and went above and beyond what was expected!  He is more than fair.  I was surprised that there are still people out there that go the extra mile....that was David!  Thanks again to David at Biltmore Mechanical!  Happy customer here!

I sent an email that I needed service and was immediately called back. They had same day service appts available (in AZ in the SUMMER!!!) The tech arrived at the exact start of the time window I was given. He was friendly and informative about my AC unit. I will use this company from now on- thank you :)

My husband and I highly recommend Cave Creek Cooling Company.  Mike came out within an hour of our telephone call.  He even called and let us know he was within 10 minutes of our home.  He replaced our blower motor and another part and was done in an hour.  Another company said it would take two and a half hours to replace the blower.  He also said he would not replace our 14 year old unit.  Saw his good reviews on Next Door Fantastic, Fair, Reliable. I called customer service to set an appointment for an estimate because i needed a new hvac system to replace the old worn out one. Bill arrived and was the one who installed the new system. He was very professional and he knew his stuff he was not a pressure sales person and i felt comfortable with his knowledge. The next day i got a reasonable estimate i was happy with. The installation went smooth and the system is blowing ice cold air.

Ideal Air Conditioning just amazed us.  We had a new system put in several years ago but Ideal Energy and they did a great job installing the system at that time.  But fast forward to Tuesday this week and our AC went out!!  It is miserable in Phoenix right now and we were furious, stressed and miserable.  We called Ideal Air and Adam came out Wednesday to fix the system he did some repairs they system was up and running!  However, but the time we got home the system had gone down again.  We called Ideal Air again and they said they were going to have to replace the compressor but that would take a few weeks due to ordering and shipping.  We obviously can't wait 2 weeks for a compressor so we set up a call with the owner of Ideal Air Alex and we went over all the issues we were experiences and some were our fault (as the customer) not being timely replacing the filters but there was an error on the companies side as well with setting up maintenance.  So we did have quite a few issues to work through, but we did and Alex wanted to make us happy, and he succeeded!  He had Adam come out Thursday morning to replace the whole AC unit we have a brand new Tran AC unit and they (Adam and a few other technicians) installed in less then 4 hours.  We honestly could not be happier with this outcome.  Alex really made everything right for us.  We will not be using another company again, we will be customer's for life due to the companies hard work and dedication to us customers.   Thank you Ideal Air for getting us a new system, being so cooperative, responsive and customer friendly.  Alex and Adam have really gone above and beyond for us and we are beyond grateful.

As a lesbian couple and as a woman veteran myself, thank you for your professionalism and respect for our home. We have had other service providers come for repairs who have tried to nickel and dime us with potential emergencies that need a man to remedy if nothing else.

All we want is an honest effective repair without the added drama or headache of worry. Thank you, Fidel, for arranging the service call, for forewarning us of potential delays, for calling before arriving, for arriving on schedule, for patiently listening to our concerns and assessments, for carefully inspecting the entirety of our furnace system, for thoroughly explaining the scale of the problems and most of all, for offering us fair options to resolve our HVAC issues.

I wish more repair technicians and business owners were real leaders in the services like you are.

So far we have used ProSkill three times. Our latest call out was for a clogged drain. The technician was super nice and professional. No BS. No upsell. He was in and out in less than an hour and our drain is running great. He left zero mess behind. Also, the office does a great job of notifying you admit who is coming and when they will arrive.

Amazing, reliable, honest and went above and beyond. I highly recommend their services.

Keith and Sure Temp literally SAVED ME OVER $1000!  I had another company (that I had used before) diagnose an AC problem and quoted me a really high price.  I called Sure Temp for a second opinion and quote and I'm sure glad I did.  Sure Temp was very responsive, gave me a quote that was much lower, and came out the next morning to help.  Turns out the other guys were wrong (and way overpriced anyways).  Keith fixed my ACTUAL AC problem on the spot and saved me well over a grand.  This is definitely my HVAC company for life.  They're very responsive, but even if they're busy next time I need them I'll gladly wait because I know I'll be getting awesome, honest service.
