Best Plumbing Services in United States
EDIT: Wanted to come back on this review and upgrade the one-star rating due to the follow-up. Owner called immediately after I posted my original review and promised to fix the problem, citing that the plumber who did my work was new. He had a different guy come out by 8am the next morning with a new pump (the right kind -- an ejector pump). It turns we had rocks in the bottom of our pit (not typical, and we didn't know because we've recently bought the house). The new plumber drained the pit, emptied the rocks and made sure we were good to go.
While the follow-up was great, I was still originally charged for the (higher-quality) ejector pump when only a sump pump was installed, and paid $100 for a $10 plastic cover. I would have liked if the owner had detailed invoicing with actual pricing on parts, plus labor, plus overhead -- I understand businesses need to make money -- and had properly trained his new staff. If those things had been done well (and the previous tech had checked the pit more thoroughly), another visit wouldn't have been necessary.

Rocket Plumbing completely ripped us off -- and didn't even manage to fix our sump pump.
When our sump pump failed just before Christmas and our basement had water, the service that dried our floor recommended Rocket Plumbing to us. The plumber showed up and replaced it. We were told we needed an ejector pump since the washing machine drained into the pit, meaning it would be more expensive than the normal one.
The special pump we needed? A Flotec E75VLT, which we were charged $667.00 for. He also installed a plastic cover for the pit at a charge of $105.00.
Not two weeks later, our new pump failed again.
We looked up the prices of the pump and pit cover and were shocked at how much they had been marked up by Rocket. At Home Depot, the pump costs $207.00. The plastic cover costs ~$20. Even adding in the cost of labor, we felt ripped off -- which, unfortunately, was confirmed by a plumbing friend of ours.
So, we called Rocket to schedule an emergency visit so they could correct their mistake, but we got a recording that said they were backed up for two days due to high demand. (Maybe we weren't the only ones with this type of experience.)
Here we are with a still-broken sump pump (that we paid nearly $900 for) and a basement that will flood unless we have a professional come out ASAP. If you're considering Rocket Plumbing, save yourself a headache and a lot of money by looking elsewhere.

Another plumber that dropped the ball on getting back to me and organizing the time to go out. Another plumber who wants to assume work is required without doing the basic problem solving beforehand.

Jose, Brian, Manny and crew restore my faith in the trades. Charged me less than they estimated. Completely responsive. Stellar service and really nice guys to boot. I will recommend these guys to everyone I know!

When I did hear back they said they wouldn't be able to come by for six days. Couldn't go a week without water.

We hired Kevin to do the plumbing when we rehabbed our kitchen. He moved our sink over two feet along with all the water lines and installed a dishwasher and garbage disposal. The job was more complicated then what we originally talked about but he was very flexible and did a great job. His estimate was accurate and the amount he charged for his services was very reasonable. His work was high quality and he was prompt, reliable, thorough, and courteous. Kevin also did us the added favor of cleaning our pipes to restore water pressure to our second story unit. I would recommend Kevin, without hesitation, to anyone in need of plumbing services.

Honest and responsible professional. You can trust Jesus. He paid us a house call after we had a frozen pipe. I was out of town and my wife had to deal with it with two little kids.. He had advised us to run the dryer and put space heaters in the laundry room to thaw the washer line and it worked but only after he was on his way. He arrived when he said he would and found the pipe to have thawed. HE DIDNT CHARGE ANYTHING FOR THE HOUSE CALL!

I've never met a store that has told me to not go with them.
We had some pooled water in our crawlspace, I tried to fix it...you know the rest. After breaking a lot of things, I called Green Tech. It was on a Saturday. They were on the phone and troubleshot what was going on. He basically said: 'You don't need us. Go to your hardware store and do the following...' After I told him that I broke a lot of things, they sent someone out on a Saturday and in 15 minutes fixed our problem. Saved us a lot of headache and possible house damage. Honest, upfront, intelligent group that will take care of any issues you need. If I have any future issues, I'll be going with them for sure.

Mike and team are extremely responsive, professional and accommodating. They do an excellent job in troubleshooting and explaining to you the actual problem and your potential solutions and options.

Adam and his colleague did an excellent job! They were quick to respond when we had a water leak coming down from the ceiling. Communication was clear and they were very transparent on what needed to be done. They went above and beyond and helped us even move an old car and then cleaned up afterward! Highly recommend

Of course when it's 90 degrees and 100% humidity all of our window AC units suddenly stopped working! Darrell came to our rescue and quickly assessed the circuit breaker and outlets and resolved the issue. I was so impressed that he answered the phone right away and came right over, despite it being 7pm. He was very knowledgeable and knew exactly how to proceed. So thankful we called Sims and Sons!

Showed up with a mask on and put booties on to ensure floors stayed dry (it was raining). Quickly snaked our drain and confirmed with me the issue was resolved.
960 S River Rd Des Plaines, IL 60016
Poor communication also. Dimitri said he'd think about it, when I proposed a resolution where they paid for part and I'd pay for part of it. Then ghosted me. Also was very aggressive and mocking on the phone. Not someone you want to do business with.

Very good will recommend him anytime I need a plumbing service

A few weeks ago my sump pump gave us issues and A&Y plumbing was quick to respond. They came by the next day and were able to fix my problem within a few hours. They also provided me options with different types of solutions based on my budget. This made me feel great about the solution and provided me peace of mind that I was getting a good deal.
Now when it rains I no longer have to check it my sump pump is running or close to giving up. Thank you A&Y!

I have used Noel from Five Plumbing twice in the last couple of months, both times to diagnose and fix leaking toilets. On both occasions Noel was prompt, professional and communicative, showing me what the problem was and what needed to be done to fix it. He worked methodically, quickly and left the bathrooms clean and tidy when he left. I have had no recurrence of the leaks in either case. I was completely satisfied with his work and he will be my first call for any plumbing needs I have in the future. Thanks Noel!

Our hot water heater had an end of life event at 5am. We called several places around 7:30 and Geoff responded quickly. He was at our house around 10:30. Was amazingly able to find a replacement 75 gallon tank and had old removed and new installed by 4pm. Really good guy, and knows what he's doing top to bottom. Great communication and would absolutely recommend using Apex and Geoff for all your plumbing needs.

Vanguard replaced two water heaters and revamped the set up. in my condo building. We received quotes from other plumbers and it was clear that Vanguard was far more experienced and skilled than others we spoke with. It was a big project - in terms of both time and money - that Vanguard implemented successfully and professionally.

Victor was really great. We called him about backed up pipe at my mom's house and he was there in no time, even with the snowfall starting last week. He was really thorough and was really helpful at communicating what was going on to my mom. He fixed everything and did not leave any mess. Highly highly recommend these guys

I found Fixer by searching Yelp reviews of local contracting companies. Overall, I would say my experience wasn't terrible, but I left underwhelmed with the experience.
I had a pesky window frame that needed to be repaired and I was struggling to find someone who could help within a reasonable timeframe. I chose Fixer because the reviews seemed fairly consistent and they seemed to have the most availability.
When it came to scheduling, they have options that say you can request a timeframe of 6-7 CST on weekdays, but then you get a text from their system saying they typically only book 7AM-3PM. Their 6-7 CST appointments was a factor that led me to choose them for services. I found out later that on rare occasions there can be some appointments that fill that time slot (as well as weekends). I wound up choosing the earliest available appointment window of 7AM-8AM where a worker would arrive. Come to the day of the appointment, I get a text saying the worker Miguel was on their way at 7:03AM. Come 7:45AM, still no update and I started calling/texting the numbers that had communicated with me. They knew that Miguel was not coming and had not communicated this issue with me until I started texting. It was very frustrating that they knew he was not coming, yet they did not communicate this issue to me earlier.
They sent another worker (named Beck) out at 8:08AM and Beck did show within 20 minutes of this time. The window frame fix took less than 20 minutes. So I suggest that if you book them, try to have a few tasks in mind that they could work on because they charge a minimum of an hour (and the cost was expensive). Admittedly, I didn't know how long the window fix would take so I didn't think having additional tasks through very well. Beck was polite and kind when I spoke about my issues and suggested I reach out to management. Beck also said this issue has happened with appointments scheduled with Miguel before.
About an hour later, a manager named Jayme reached out to me and informed me that they have an automated text that goes out the morning/time of your appointment that says a driver was leaving. They are aware of that if a driver calls off, the message still goes out. Jayme was apologetic and gave me a discount for the issue I experienced. However, I was really disappointed that they knew about this automatic text issue and did not reach out to me when they knew Miguel would not be able to keep the appointment.
Overall, I get that issues happen. The company owned up to their mistakes and remedied the best they could. Truly appreciate that. Given the experience, I think I am going to try a few other contracting companies. I'm not going to rule Fixer out completely, but I felt the pricing was truly a bit steep unless you have a few things for them to fix within the hour. Beck's quality did hold up for the service, but the scheduling and timing issues have deterred me from keeping Fixer as a go-to contractor.

Great service and very knowledgeable. Very prompt and explained everything. Cleared the drain and identified an additional issue that they said could be a problem and provided options to address vs others that would just upsell
