Alex was great from the start with communication through yelp and text.  The door to our courtyard was rusted and had broken a hinge.  His team fixed the door, replaced the hinge, and also gave it new life with a fresh coat.  The timing was to be expected with a fix and we are happy with the finished project.  We would recommend IMS to anyone looking for a gate or repair.

Working with Hernandez Ironworks was AMAZING! I had worried about finding a professional gate company to make custom gates to fit my vision, style, and security needs and Hernandez truly delivered. I texted their office frequently to discuss materials, colors, and sizing to make sure they offered exactly what we were looking for in our backyard. They were so helpful in finding the right solution for our gates.

We ended up getting 3 custom steel gates with them to pass our city pool inspection. They turned out beautiful and they are all amazing quality, knowing they will last forever and provide security and aesthetic appeal in our backyard. They also followed up with me a month later to grease our springs and repaint any areas that had been scuffed during our yard construction. I would highly recommend Hernandez Ironworks to anyone looking for gates in AZ!

Someone on Nextdoor recommend Pool Remodeling Brothers. Based on their recommendation I reached out to Jose for an estimate. They were responsive and got our pool fixed within a week of contacting them. We had some cracks in our pebble in the steps and we couldn't get anyone to call us back or do the job because it wasn't worth their time for what they would make on the job. Because they took on our little job we will be using them for our pool remodel in 2-3 years because our pebble is old and wearing out.

Checked the roof and it looks good.   The seams around the vents look very watertight.  The shingles looks like it's held down tight.  They also do wood work.  They removed my old, unused swamp cooler and put in an additional wind turbine.  They're registered with the state of AZ.  They're certified GAF shingles installers if you decide to get GAF shingles.  They also finished within 2 days.

We HIGHLY recommend Aztec Decks! Ray and his crew are absolutely amazing. They updated our 24 year old cool decking around our pool with travertine tile around the pool and our whole backyard patio. We have a brand new backyard living area and are extremely pleased.  Ray was very professional and friendly. His whole crew worked so hard and their craftsmanship was amazing.  Ray was always checking in with us to make sure that everything was what we wanted, which it was, PLUS more!  Thank you Ray! Joel Brust deserves this Yelp review simply due to his excellent work, transparency and punctuality. He walked me through the costs involved during the quote process here at our home, which were perfectly reasonable. Within a week he was here on the dot of the time scheduled. He spent the next 3 days building this absolutely stunning Redwood Privacy Fence that is floating above our short cinderblock wall. The engineering in his design, being that our wall (as shown in the pics) is tiered-down to different heights with multiple steps-down to each tier--was highly impressive. Joel delivers extraordinary custom work and reliability to say the least. Not your everyday carpenter. You won't find a better Fencing & Gates Contractor in San Diego.

I just had my observation deck resealed, and it turned out great. Adam workers did a great job and barley knew they were there, no banging or dropping tools. The project took about four days with the drying of the stuff they put in the roof, but showed up and completed the job very professional. I would use him again, and Adam will Answer his phone when called.

Jonas did an awesome job of repairing after I had some plumbing work done through the middle of my pool decking.He was priced reasonably and very efficient got the job done in more than a reasonable amount of time I would certainly recommend and use him again.

Simply, the best I've worked with. Brings great attitude and energy, he also considers you as a client foremost.  I couldn't get anyone to work on my exterior door without having to buy a whole new door, because other guys don't have the skill or the willingness to do the actual carpentry work.  Jason is fantastic, it was energizing to me to see a master craftsman at work, I can't rate him highly enough.

We made arrangements during the summer to have the deck redone November. David provided good pricing and the work was completed by 2 guys over 5 days. Workmanship is excellent. David with some negotiation added some small details that helped finish the deck the way it should be. Some small issues with the workmen using my tools and bucket in the backyard and not cleaning them afterwards.

We had First Impression Security door install a screen door and side gate at home in December 2011.  The installation went very smoothly and initially we were pleased with the installation.    The door was around $1800 and side gate was $900 installed and we received what amounted to a 10% discount.

In December 2013, the door closure failed and the heavy iron screen door slammed into my heel.  Thankfully, I was startled but not hurt.  Called First Impression Customer Support right away and was very happy to learn of the free screen door closer swap-out program.  It works like this: If the closer fails, remove it and take it to the nearest showroom and if they have a new one in stock they will swap a new one for your old one.

The new closer worked for over a year, but has just failed again on June 30, 2015.  So I'm headed to the showroom in Gilbert to swap-out another closer.  

About the time that the closer failed in 2013, I also noticed small areas of rust on the iron door and gate.  The showroom salesman promised to send out some touch-up paint.  But we never received it.  I just got off the phone with customer support and was told they will mail some out to me in the next day or two.  This time I set a reminder!

I seal the redwood on the gate each fall, but it is really very thin wood.  It looks pretty but it is just so thin.  I will have to replace it soon.  

We also have this devilish issue where the key get stuck in the lock of the security door and will not come out.  Have worked with First Impression a number of times to resolve the issue.  If I am very patient and if I work with the key gently and diligently I can usually  it to come out of the lock... with a little luck... eventually.  But it's just a matter of time before the key gets stuck again.  As a matter of fact, it's been stuck in the lock for about 5 months now and I still can't get it out.  LOL!  A security door with a key in it!  

Anyway, First Impression is aware of the issue and explained that the key stuck in lock issue impacts customers where the lock was re-keyed at the time of installation.  But the lock is out of the warranty (two years - but this lock issue has been an issue since shortly after the installation date) so to fix the issue, I'll need to get a locksmith out to remove the key from the lock.  Ugh!  

As of last week (June 2015), I also discovered that the side gate no longer latches. Customer Support advised me to file the hole just a little wider and try the latch again. If it doesn't, CS will be happy to set up a service call.

To sum this up, at first, my husband and I were very happy with our First Impression screen door and side gate.  The installation process was smooth and the door and the gate worked reasonable well for just two years.   In retrospect, perhaps I should have made a different choice of gate latch or been more vigilant with respect to the installation of the gate handle.  I should have paid more attention to the type of wood used in the gate.  Maybe I should have selected a thicker wood... or perhaps an artificial wood slat instead of redwood.   Perhaps I should have insisted that the door lock be replaced as soon as it started to get stuck in the lock so regularly.  

Overall, I'm coming up with a fairly neutral rating for a very pricey product and a general sense of disappointment. At one time, I would enthusiastically recommended First Impression to my friends and neighbors. Now, when people ask me about either my gate and or door, I still say that I like the products, but they have both required more maintenance than I ever expected from a door or a gate.

Geremy installed floating wood shelves in the kitchen and did a good job. They're sturdy and look good, but could have been finished better in the end. Putty was left to dry and I had to have my handyman sand it all down as well as add more where there were some noticeable gaps at joints. I didn't ask Geremy come back to finish because it wasn't the end of the world to have to have someone else finish, it just would have been nice if he had completed the job himself. There was also an incident where he accidentally leaned against the stove knobs, turned on the burner and melted plastic on my brand new stove top that had never been used. It wasn't able to be cleaned up complete which is a bummer, but the worst part is he didn't tell me about it- I had to hear from my handman.

I hired him for a second job- a pergola over my back patio. After he rescheduled a couple of times and then didn't show up another one or two times, he finally came, but came so late in the day that he ran out of time and couldn't install my string lights. I went ahead and paid him the full amount for the job but I've never been able to get him to come back to finish the lights that he said he'd be back to hang the following day. After a lot of excuses, several texts and a phone call and continuing to tell me he'd come back to hang them, he still hasn't finished the job. I've been waiting since May 20th and now he isn't responding to my messages at all.

It's a shame because his work is good, but reliability and communication are terrible.

Excellent service, decent price, marvelous Gate! You get what you pay for. So from cheap materials from TNP Gate LLC to quality products from First Impressions, we are finally satisfied customers.

So after posting my initial review, First Impression contacted me to arrange having a technician come out to fix the stucco patch.  The technician arrived as scheduled, fixed things up and now we're satisfied customers.

As noted in my original review, the door itself is fantastic.  Very well-made and a beautiful design. We were always happy with the door.

I do encourage First Impression to rethink their policy on stucco patching.  This was a large project that cost quite a bit of money.  It simply makes no sense to not ensure the final result is polished and perfect.  

But, all's well that ends well and I appreciate First Impression standing behind their product.
