They're great! Saturday night I noticed a substantial leak in my hot water tank. I called for a plumber and Joel got back with me in less than 20 minutes. This was a big problem. I had no hot water bc the tank was flooded. Joel came out Sunday morning, further assessed the situ, went and got a tank and installed in about an hour. Nicely done Captain Rooter! I slept well Sunday night!

Just want to say THANK YOU to Adam and his coworker who helped us on the leak we had at our place. First, they were able to be on site right away. Second, very responsive and they communicate well. Do not use this company! They use unlicensed plumbers that have significant criminal history that caused over 25k of water damage in our condo! (You can find full names of workers in other reviews...doing a quick google search will show you that they have robbed stores, drug history, etc).
We called captain rooter to fix a leaky faucet on 2/15. They send Dylan and Jonathon. They had to cut into our walls by our toilet and faucet because they said we had a bad shit off valve. They cut the pipe out around our faucet. All fine. They were going to come back the following week to fix it. Never heard back from Dylan. We called the main line again. They then sent us Adam and James. Adam then said if we pay him directly, he can do the job cheaper. Fine! We don't care! Just want the job done. It had already been 2 weeks with holes in our walls and no sink upstairs. We paid him $1300 in cash. He put 'shark bites' in our walls. We thought the job was fixed and then woke up on a Saturday morning to water leaking in our downstairs foyer ceiling...upstairs floors ruined. Downstairs floors ruined. Called Joel again from Captain Rooter...he then sent Andrew. Andrew came in and could not believe the damage and destruction that the previous 'plumbers' caused. Andrew was there all day fixing the problem and then charged us $2028 for the job.
We are currently dealing with our homeowners insurance and all sorts of damage done to our condo. Joel from Captain Rooter has been less than helpful. He states it's not his fault.
Just an FYI, I learned a lot about plumbing law during all of this. Whenever you get a plumber, ask for their license and COI. You can also look them up on IDPH website by name to verify.
Do not use this company!!! If any one wants more info, I'm happy to share...just don't want to be a total Karen. Just trying to save someone else from going through this DISASTER.
Every plumber they send us was not licensed. As a consumer, we had no idea this was a thing! On their website, it clearly states licensed, bonded, insured. They are most definitely not.

I left a message on Yelp 4/12 re: a noise made after flushing my toilet and using my sink. They came promptly on 4/13 and the tech was nice, friendly, prompt and stated that the pump needed replacing. The amount of $320 was quoted. Not sure if that was more than what I should pay but since I wanted the noise to stop, the tech was friendly, I went ahead with them. Since then I have had no issues with job. Will use them again.

We had a gas leak over the weekend, which resulted in our gas shut off. I was able to contact Captain Rooter and someone who is able to come out quickly and identify that there were multiple leaks. They return the following day and were able to address all the leaks and found a couple of more. Very fortunate that this did not turn into a fire or worse.
Special things to Manny and Brandon for all the hard work, especially during this time of year. They were nothing short of excellent and fantastic, hard-working individuals.

Trust-worthy business, very responsive to customers' needs, high quality work, and great value.

I have an old building. I noticed the basement dirt ground seemed moist but did not pay much attention. Then few months back, things got a lot worse. First, the ground was sinking fast, then the sewer water started gushing out whenever I use water.

I contacted two 5-star popular plumbing services on Yelp. They looked at the situation and told me that they need to dig down at 3 spots and replaced sewer lines there, but it will take at least 2 days to finish the job, and they cannot start until next week. They also tried to rot and jet, neither cleared the line. Frustrated, I searched again on Yelp and found Capitan rooter, and it turned out to be the best choice I made.

Joel was able to provide a quote over the phone based on problem described. A detailed proposal was sent shortly. The very next day, Oscar and the crew stopped by and started on the job. The crew were the most efficient plumbers I met. Oscar immediately identified the main spot of problem, which was different than the spot identified by the other two companies. I am so glad he made the right call because the other spot did not have the sewer line under the ground at all, which meant if I were to hire those companies, they would have been digging all over my basement.

Once the crew rotted line clear, camera to locate the issues, each started digging and replacing the broken pieces. They were very careful handling my sewer line as those were made of clay; they replaced the broken pieces with SCH40 and made significant improvements. They installed a new opening for rotting. Oscar also replaced an incorrectly installed kitchen drain line. By the time he reached the broken line, the replacement line was far more than the initial quote covered, but he completed the job anyway because he wanted to be sure that I could have a functioning line on the same day. After the job was completed, they installed new cement and even cleaned up all the broken pipes, cements, and dust. I cannot thank the crew enough for their outstanding work, professionalism, care for the customer and their property. It was a very pleasant experience.

They also gave 5 year warranty on their work, but I am sure it will last much longer than that. In addition, they also offered 2 free follow-up maintenance rotting. The company also offer 18-month financing for those who need it. Did I mention their pricing was better than the 2 other companies I noted?

Overall, I would highly recommend Capitan rooter to anyone with sewerage problems. They offer the best combination of quality, value, efficiency, and reliability.

Absolutely Terrible! Do not let this outfit SCAM YOU like they SCAMMED ME! I was referred to a legit plumber from a friend the other day. When I googled to get the number and placed the call somehow I got rerouted to this Captain Rooter unknowingly! I was so out of sorts while it was raining poop water in my basement I didn't even catch it. The following morning captain Rooter shows up. I was confused and asked why and it's because they grab the phone calls and steal them, WOW!

I cannot help but think that the plumbers from this company had me waste money by insisting I needed to fully replace a toilet that likely didn't need replacement. My dual-flush toilet was periodically running because the seal from the flushing mechanism wasn't good. I explained this to the plumbers and they said that I needed a new toilet. Fast forward a few years and this same problem is happening with the same model toilet in a different part of the house. I used the service Fixer and they were able to repair the toilet with a $35 replacement flushing mechanism and an hour of labor. I am upset that the plumbers here wouldn't even entertain the idea that the toilet could be repaired. Service cost me over $1000 dollars and I feel like I way overpaid for what I needed. The service they did perform was solid and everything they did worked well. I definitely recommend getting a second opinion if they are proposing an expensive solution.

My toilet had been leaking every time I flushed it; going onto the bathroom floor. Stopped using it for a month, since I was busy traveling back and forth from Chicago to Detroit to help out my father, who was in the hospital for over a month.

Captain Rooter sent out a great service technician in Adam A. He did a tremendous job in quickly analyzing the situation and applying a fix to the problem. He worked fast and was clear in his explanations. I would highly recommend Adam, if you call Captain Rooter.

He even threw in a free part he happened to have to help with the cost. He was friendly and efficient. He provided info on home owners insurance and recommended a good company too. Overall a great job!! I'm very relieved to have this taken care of.

I have had at least a dozen inspections done on properties over the years. Professionals document their work and don't just flick on the water and flush toilets to see if they work! They take photos and include them in the report! The report that you rush sent me after I pointed out that you never sent one in the first place was 1 damn paragraph?!? One paragraph poorly constructed is your full report on a three unit property?!? Come back to the property and do a REAL inspection and I'll pay you plus a late fee! FOH otherwise, I can't even use your bs report!! I sent it to my and attorney and they both laughed and asked if you guys were a real company.

Sure enough there were scheduling issues on my part.

That aside do NOT, I repeat DO NOT hire these people for any sort of inspection! They rushed through my inspection, did not provide sufficient documentation to satisfy that they even did any inspection!

The gentleman I spoke with OF COURSE got rude and defensive when called on the BS!

I am to believe that they FULLY inspected a 3 unit building with 6 bathrooms, 3 kitchens in FIVE minutes!?!?! FOHWTBS!

Toilet backed up on a Sunday and I needed it fixed the same day. Adam from Captain Rooter called me soon after my inquiry and explained what he thinks the issue is and how it would be resolved.

He texted me when he was 5 minutes away and arrived at the time he said he would. He came in with another nice fellow and they got right to work.

They got the toilet working perfectly again, triple checked to make sure the issue was resolved, cleaned up after themselves and thanked me for the business. This is what great service looks like, huge thank you to Adam and team for turning my messy ordeal into a pleasant experience!

I used Captain Rooter to assist with the reinstall action of a washer drain/line, sink set up and faucet in stall. I was easily able to connect with Captain rooter via Yelp and advised them of my needs. Many other companies had dispatch fees and this is ultimately one of the factors in my choosing of Captain Rooter. I received a confirmation call yesterday for my appointment and today a 30min ETA. This was truly amazing. For my appointment I worked with Mike and he followed all COVID-19 procedures. Gave me a honest and transparent pricing and completed the work in a timely manner. He checked all systems to ensure no leaks and informed me of everything he was doing and why. Captain Rooter is truly a rebuttable company that I believe in and recommend.

I brought these guys in for a second opinion on a job to clear a slow drain in an upstairs bathroom. The tech that came out was pretty condescending. He didn't clear the drain, which was not his fault, but he gave us an estimate 2.5 times higher than the first company we brought in, AND after he did whatever it was he did, we have standing, rusty water in our bathtub where we we had none before. The attached picture was taken 8 hours after he left. The drain used to run slow. Now it's completely stopped up and a total mess. On top of that, his high written estimate was $200 more than the verbal one he gave me a few minutes earlier. May have been a mistake but certainly left a bad taste in my mouth.

Update - now the sink is backing up into the tub. Never did that until these guys came to our house

Update 2 - we had another plumber come out. He fixed it. Said it was tough but not impossible and the resolution that Captain Rooter suggested (over 3k) was completely unnecessary.

The owner of this company, Jesse, called me to apologize on behalf of the contractor who charged me for not doing anything. He confirmed that the initial consult from Captain Rooter IS free, and promised to issue a refund. Removing one star due to the earlier experience, but adding three to my overall rating because it meant a lot to me to get that call. If I end up using their services for another project that goes well, I'll update this again to reflect that.

PREVIOUS REVIEW:

I've never left a bad Yelp review (it's true, check my profile), but I want to warn people because I hate contractors that do this (and Captain Rooter said on the phone that they were different). I woke up to a very loud persistent jackhammer type sound coming from the bathroom around 4AM. It eventually stopped an hour or so later, but it was alarming enough that I called Captain Rooter's 24/7 line during the chaos and booked a 9:30AM consult, which I was told was free.

The guy arrived this morning, and looked into the toilet tank (I had removed the lid already). He then diagnosed it as trapped air in the pipes and said there wasn't really anything to do. He said if it happens again, it's a whole building problem and I should contact building management. He then said I owed him $125 for coming out, but if I had $50 in cash he would take that instead to save me some $$. I don't have cash on me, and said I didn't think there was a charge. He said he would call the company and I could Zelle them. The lady on the phone was like, Yep, there's a $185 service fee, here's where to send the payment -- when I corrected her and said that the plumber had said $125 she went, Oops, yes, it's a $125 service fee if he touched anything. At this point, I have been on the phone paying longer than the plumber looked at anything.

I paid, he left. But I feel really taken advantage of. Being a solo female homeowner is a privilege, but it also sucks, because contractors see you as just someone to charge $125 for two minutes of no work for during a free consult.

We've basically had two separate complicated and emergent issues that Adam from Captain Rooter diligently worked on. He's truly a conscientious, dedicated technician and I would 100% recommend asking for him when calling Captain Rooter.

We had a drain fly issue that had persisted for over a year. We suspected it was a plumbing problem coming from the mechanical room but had no idea where. Adam came and did not give up. He was determined to find the source. Not all technicians would have that tenacity and it was much appreciated. He even went above and beyond and implemented other measures to ensure the drain flies couldn't get in. He was great at explaining what the issue was and how he found and fixed it, with total transparency.

We called Captain Rooter another time and asked for Adam, specifically. Two toilets in our basement had stopped flushing. Our plumbing situation was pretty extreme as it wasn't noticeable for a while. Adam was, as expected, diligent and determined and explained that our ejector pump had stopped working. Before installing the new one he showed me the broken one and explained the mechanism that was causing the issue.

Adam truly puts my mind at ease because I trust his dedication and quality of his work. He's extremely personable and professional as well as trustworthy and dependable. It's worth repeating that you should definitely request Adam to help whenever calling Captain Rooter.

Fraudulent. Illegitimate and Not Sorry About it at all. Buyer Beware

They will not honor their warranty. They will take advantage of your emergency situation and diagnose non-working repair suggestions that you don't need, like: $1,500 hydro-jetting, when all you need is a simple rod at $450. They will not talk about it with civility over the phone. They will be rude and indignant. They will not take any responsibility for a mis-diagnosis and they will make a mountain of excuses as to why nothing is their fault. This company should take more honor in their work, but they likely won't. Therefore, until then, save your pockets and save your time by going with another firm

Ridiculously fantastic.
So, we live in an old bungalow. We purchased a new range for our kitchen - it was delivered, and beautiful, and basically sat in the middle of the room - ok, I may be exaggerating a bit - but it did stick out a good 4 from the wall. The gas pipe coming up through the floor was to blame. Ugh. We called our usual plumber, they took a week to come out to tell us it would be super expensive, they would have to come back a week later to do it, it would take all day, and they would have to go through the exterior bricks of the house.

I felt like this seemed off. After a quick yelp search, I found Captain Rooter, a phone call, a knock on our door the next morning, an estimate of LESS THAN HALF and the job DONE in less than two hours - gas pipe moved over, no disruption to exterior bricks, and oven range in place snug against the wall. So happy.

Previously I wanted to install a ejector pump with a check valve. They quoted $5000. This was after them visiting my property and assessing the situation. On the day of the job they said that they wont be to install the pumps and charged me $4700 just for the check valve. Of course only having the check valve didn't solve the issue. And I again flew all the was from San Francisco to meet these guys to come up with a better solution. They said that installing a lift station will solve the problem. And it has been 3 weeks and i am yet to receive a quote or a start date for the work. Wasted $4700 and flight tickets. Very unprofessional behavior. Now they are not responsive at all. Never trust these guys!

I had a pipe leaking so I called Captain Rooter. I got ahold of someone who took my info and told me that someone would call me back in a few minutes and they'd be able to be there within the hour.

40 minutes later I had yet to receive a call, so I called back. They took my info again and told me again that I'd get a call back in a few minutes and that person would be able to come within the hour.

This time I wouldn't be fooled though, I reached out to a different plumber who called me back in minutes and was able to help. It's been a day and I still haven't heard from Captain Rooter.

Brandon's team saved us last month when our sewer line started backing up. Of course it was over New Year's Eve and a weekend, but they came out right away and the price for emergency services was on par with what we expected.

Unfortunately it was an issue we soon found that would require a lot more time and equipment than they could get that day, as everything was closed for the holiday. They quickly lined up the shovel and pipes they needed and came back as soon as they possibly could (which was the Monday or Tuesday immediately after the holiday). They worked TIRELESSLY for days to get us the use of our drains back, staying quite late.

Wonderful caring company and team and we will absolutely be using them again in the future.

They sent someone out who tried to scam us. He attempted to charge us $1600+ for a sump pump replacement. We called and they sent someone else out who took care of it for less.
However, they still charged us most of the costs from the first repairman. We called and were promised a partial refund. Over a week later, we are still awaiting our promised partial refund and will update this review upon the receipt of that restitution.

Great service and price for a gas line installation. I was originally quoted $2.5k by another plumber and it didn't feel right. I spoke with Adam over the phone, took pictures and gave him an rough estimate of the distance for the piping required and he quoted me a price. He came out in a day and held the price we agreed to over the phone. What better service can you ask for cost savings and quick turn around. I will highly recommend them in the future.

Do not use Captain Rooter Emergency Plumbers!!!! I called them today for a backed up sewer, price 298 the tech ran the rod one time, told me he hit something that snagged his line and that I would need another service that cost at least 1300..that my pipe could be broke (yada yada ya) now my basement has been flooded many times and we have rented a rod ran it several times and clears the blockage..... DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS.... I wasted 298 and will still have to go to Home Depot to rent a rod and clear my drain......my husband rented the rod and cleared the drain in 30 mins!!!!!

We had a plumbing situation that required a plumbing staff equipped with setup and clean up materials for a messy job, especially entitled Captain Rooter. There is nothing pristine and greaseless about that job! I was very appreciative that they could come right away the same day and help clean our pipes from our hvac closet and clean up build up also in our W/D closet.

At the beginning of the job, the tech took out large grease removal equipment and needed to borrow additional bags for all of the greases removal. If this was the case, why was no tarp laid down to line the floor, on a white carpet? We had just had steam cleaning completed a few weeks prior, however there were walls with grease prints, grease splattered on equipment and back walls of the hvac and W/D closet. The floors were coated in grease. Low and behold...grease beads in chunks all over the carpet for 12 feet. No covering!

Mid-way through the job I asked the tech, You are going to clean this all up, right? He told me yes, for sure. Seeing that hardly anything was clean and grease was smeared on one door, I asked him about it, he said it was a very messy job. It was definitely time for him to go.

I called the management, but was told I should have kept him there and called. During COVID, I don't keep workers in my house longer than needed. I would hope there is protocol the company has in place and proper training and materials to show their workers how to protect the homes they are in. They are quick and efficient but not the best pricing in the market. My tenant said that the service man was rude and in her face about trying to replace a garbage disposer for which they charged me double the market rate.

I will add that the scheduling is amazing online and great follow up. That is why they have two stars instead of one for the behavior.

Joel and his team at Captain rooter did an amazing job and their pricing was the most competitive. Our sewer main collapsed and was partially broken for the condo building and they were able to come out and dig it up, completely replace it, pull permits, and redo the cement on top all in about a day and a half. Although this was not an emergency job, they worked really quickly and were easy to communicate with and really straightforward. I highly recommend working with them because they're in Chicago and very responsive and competitive on price, but high in quality.

I had been trying to get a plumber from other companies come to my place for a couple of days to fix my toilet with no luck -- no answers, no returned calls, even from online scheduling. When I called Captain Rooter, the scheduler answered after a couple rings, booked me with Adam at a time that worked for me. My work ran late, so I missed his first call (which was right on time). He did another job, then still came to my house and fixed my toilet (quickly) after his work time. He and his helper cleaned up before they left. Adam was called to our condo to fix what the gas company was calling a leak in the line. He pressure tested the line and there was nothing in the line itself that was leaking. The leak was traced back to the furnace. He came back over later that evening to replace the lines and re-seal everything in and around the furnace connectors. Would highly recommend; professional, courteous, and completed the job all within a day.

I was supposed to write this review yesterday, but I was way too busy enjoying my hot water and full pressure shower thanks to Adam A. at Captain Rooter. Adam was nothing but professional, courteous and friendly. He was able to come the same day that I called and pinpoint the issue, and even let me know that he felt we needed a larger tank based on the usage in the house, which I was grateful for.

My kids thought he was cool, and I basically wanted to marry him after he fixed our hot water tank that had been out for 2 days (but I'm sure that's was just the toxic smells coming off of us making me talk crazy).

The only thing I was disappointed in was the lack of butt crack. I mean... plumbers, amirite?

We had an emergency pipe break in our basement and water started spewing everywhere. Our water shut off wasn't working, so I frantically searched the internet for plumbers who could be there quickly. We had a plumber from another company come first and he said he had no idea how to fix the problem (thanks) and left. Next, we called these guys who were here in under an hour. LIFESAVERS!

It turned out that our b-box (city line shut off valve) was super old and messed up and that was preventing us from turning off water to the home. The team worked late that night and were here at 9 am the next two mornings to help us resolve the issue really quickly and run new piping from the curbside into our home.

Adam specifically went above and beyond, checking in with us frequently to keep us updated on costs, ETAs of when the team would be here, and more. He explained the whole project start to finish. Thank you so much, Adam!!

We will be calling again for drain/sewer cleaning in the future (and hopefully not many more emergency projects)!

I had a tub drain blockage that I was unable to clear with a snake and it was only getting worse. I called several plumbers, but none of them were available for several days. Captain Rooter was able to squeeze me in same day. No only that, they were scheduled to show up at 4:00 (not some vague three hour window of whatever) and they arrived at my place 10 minutes early. (They actually got to my place before I did!) Adam came in and busted the clog within a few minutes. Now I can take a shower and stop smelling like a three day old burrito. Great service.

We had gotten Captain Rooter for a service in fixing our toilet plumbing, it was quite pricey and ended up being 800$ for what it was. The repair work itself was fine just the price was hefty but then we followed up since we had some water pooling around the toilet after they had made the repair and we asked them about it. They were not responsive or communicative in the aftercare unfortunately. We tried to get them to come out and take a look, the issue ended up being a non-issue in the end but they also never responded or came out to take a look if it had been an issue after several days. They kind of just forgot about us.

I dropped an earring down the drain. Not worth a lot, but very sentimental. I submitted an inquiry through Yelp and 4 out of the 5 companies got back to me right away. (The one who didn't respond until much later had a very rude woman handling the phone. Good luck if you happen upon them). Extremely impressed with all of the others, but I went with the first one which was Captain Rooter.

Captain Rooter asked all of the right questions and gave an approx quote. The process was surprisingly fast. They were out the next morning and found the earring in approx 15 minutes.

I was extremely happy with the experience. I contacted the manager/owner later in the day to let them know how happy I was with them and he was so kind in thanking me for the feedback.

Will definitely connect again if I need assistance.

I contacted this company based on there reviews because my basin was full and not flowing to ejector pump. Bob arrived assessed the problem then rodded the line, water started to flow. However 4 days later, water returned in basement. Open cap, full again. Called company back Dan was sent out. Dan rodded from front clean out, ejector pump, water flows out. Now today, March 29 the pump is FULL NOT FLOWING TO EJECTOR PUMP. So, we are again with high water in tank, not flowing, minimal usage of water. How many plumbers does it take to resolve this issue in a 1200 square foot home, with 2 bathrooms and 4 occupants? I am extremely frustrated.

As a result, we are looking for another company to investigate the root cause of these plumbing issues.

Very satisfied with the work they did, I called them for a pipe that busted on my kitchen sink they were able to come out the next day and get it fixed before anymore water damage was done, I gave 4 stars instead of five because one of the technician had car problems and didn't make it to the appointment time and they didn't tell me until hours later but the dispatcher or the lady that answered the call was really nice and apologetic and was able to send a replacement out right away, I will definitely call them back!

I had an initial good interaction with Captain Rooter (see first review, which also came with a discount). They replaced the pipes under a kitchen sink that they said were installed wrong. About a year later, the pipes they installed came apart at one of the seals, causing water damage. They came out and fixed their old work then routed the line. A few months later (and almost $1,000 in), the same seal has broken again, causing more water damage. I called Captain Rooter again, and they said they'd call back about getting it fixed. They never called back. After working with another plumber, they said that Captain Rooter had actually installed it wrong and that why it kept coming apart.

We somehow flushed a washcloth down the toilet without realizing it. (Let's chalk it up to fog-brain as a result of being a month into shelter-in-place.) Jesse came out in less than two hours, fixed the problem in less than five minutes, and did it cheaper than other services we could find, especially on such short notice.

I was happy that they sent someone out the same day, but the purpose of the job wasn't addressed. I let Adam know that one of the owners was having an issue with their basement toilet. Adam had the main sewer hydro-jetted, but not the extension that goes to the bathroom with the issue. When the owners got back in town yesterday, they let me know that their problem still exists. Its exactly the same as it was. So while we likely needed the main sewer cleaned, if problem wasn't addressed, let alone resolved, why bother spending $745. I wish I had been told before, not after, that the line in question wasn't cleaned. It also puts me in an embarrassing situation for hiring them to do the job.

My sewer line along the house was blocked and required hydro-jetting. It was starting to become an emergency.
Power rodding has never been successful on my line.
I had reached out to these guys because my regular plumber kept blowing me off for over a week. Then the Arctic deep freeze came and nobody was working outside. Every time I flushed a toilet I feared the backup into the tub. My 15yo was restricted to 5 min showers which was a miracle in itself.
Luckily, Jesse got his guys over the same day to clear the line. The line was cleared quickly and efficiently.

My residential building had a clogged kitchen drain line that was causing water to pool back up in my sink. The first plumber I had out claimed that there was no way to get a rodder where it needed to go to clear the clog. So obviously I needed a second opinion, and I am extremely thankful I got connected with Adam at Captain Rooter! Adam and his team came out for an initial consultation within 12 hours of me reaching out. Adam gave me a detailed analysis and breakdown of my options - they were going to try rodding through some other access points, or they were going to need to escalate to hydrojetting. What most impressed me is that when Adam and his team came back the next day, they were prepared for either option - basically, he was going to make sure my problem was solved by the end of the day. And they did exactly that, just in time for us to host Christmas dinner. There are a bunch of plumbers out there, but if you are looking for a no BS / super quick resolution to your plumbing issue, look no further than Captain Rooter, and ask if Adam is available.

I had a frozen pipe going to the outside spigot that popped at the connection, and despite the crazy snow storm, Adam with Captain Rooter was able to get out quickly and replace the section of pipe so we could get our water turned back on. He did a great job and even checked some of the other sinks and fixtures to make sure we didn't have any issues. Polite and professional. This company broke a line while cleaning and caused another trouble.
Water got stuck in my bathtub and called them right after Christmas. The guy came to fix it quickly. He charged me $350. One month later, I found water leaking from hallway and living room. I actually found out that one joint under bathtub was broken. It was obviously that the damage was caused by their repair guy but the customer service said they were not responsible for any damage. High cost and no warranty at all after the job. I had to spend another $1,000 to replace the piece. M worst experience ever in repair.

Giving this company a 3 star due to prices seem a bit high, total was $365 for a flap and valve replacement, $325 after the new customer discount from Yelp. Issue was the toilet would not fill up properly and also would not flush without pouring water in the toilet. Pat showed up within a half and hour and job was complete within an hour. Good customer service. This is a good company for emergencies, but their prices are higher than average.

I took time off work and the plumber did not show up for scheduled appointment nor did they provide any type of update.

Update: Changing from a 1 star rating to 4. I was contacted after writing the review and they apologized for their scheduling mistake. They offered to provide a discount so I decided to give them another shot. Chris was able to resolve the leaky shower faucet issue and constantly running toilet issue. I wish they told me there would be a 10% credit card fee up front as I would have prepared a cash payment.

When prepping our house to sell, I had no idea the amount of roots that can develop in sewer pipes. After calling to have our pipes inspected, Adam Avizius arrived to assess any issues and leveraged their camera to identify blockage under a 100-year-old tree in our parkway. He then used their Hydroblast technology to blow out all roots and deliver a clean pathway for our sewers. I would HIGHLY recommend Adam and his team. Great experience. I got a follow up call from Captain Rooter at 9am and had a technician at my home by 11am. They assessed my hot water heater, it hadn't been producing hot water for a week, it's over 20 years old so I figured it was time to replace it. Andrew? the technician stated it was a simple element piece that had gon bad, ran to the local hardware store, and replaced it within an hour. Saved me hundreds of dollars by not having to buy a new hot water heater.

I was experiencing regular sewer backups and called on several plumbing/sewer companies. Andrew responded for Captain Rooter. He was very responsive, pleasant to work with and he has excellent communication skills. Andrew patiently explained the cause of problem and the best way to resolve it. He also did what three other companies did not do and that was to look at the backwater valve through the access box. Taking that necessary step and reviewing a previously recorded camera inspection, he quickly pinpointed the cause of the blockage/backup. The major work the other companies said had to be done was not necessary significantly reducing the amount of time and cost to complete the work. Andrew is the real deal and one of the best service providers I have ever contracted. If you need a sewer expert, I am confident he is knowledgeable in all aspects of plumbing, I recommend you consider Andrew.

We had a distressing evening full of gas leaks and a late night shut off by People's Gas. Captain Rooter was the first emergency 24/7 plumbing provider to return our call. Adam was an exceptional resource and help on a difficult project. He and his colleague David assessed, provided a price upfront, pressure tested before and after the work, and labored diligently for three hours to complete the job. People's Gas came and verified a job well done and our gas was reconnected less than 24 hours after the turn off. ORIGINAL REVIEW: The charge $400 to fix a wax ring on a toilet. It only took them 10 minutes to fix it and they did respond within an hour of me calling but that is way too expensive for the job.

We were having a hard time opening the inlet valve after trying to clean the air filter ourselves. It was hard to open, we had another company come and they were unable to open. We called captain rooter and they right away responded. They ended up sending Adam in less than an hour. It was a tougher and it took all his sweat but he was able to finally turn the valve and make our water heater operational in no time. We have a small baby and without heated water, we were really struggling. So, Adam was our savior for the day!

The customer service and professionalism we received from this place was top notch! We called for an emergency plumbing issue and needed someone out as soon as possible to take a look and hopefully fix. The 2 service techs, Jesse and Joel, arrived within an hour and a half of calling. Then, they had the issue identified and fixed within an hour of being at the house. I found the company on Yelp. My shower stopped working and I wanted free estimates to assess the issue and hopefully get it repaired. The company responded and had free estimates and dispatched a plumber out to me in 24 hours or less. The plumber was on time and called before coming. He arrived and assessed the situation and had some diagnostics or ways to attempt to remedy the situation. He was clear in the costs and what he was doing. However, my issue was more complicated than originally assessed. It was determined that to fully solve my problem my wall with tile would need to be cut to access the pipes but the company because it's a plumbing company would not be able to re-tile or put drywall back up which is not economical to me. Most plumbers probably don't do drywall or tiling so I understand. The plumber was knowledgeable and not above or scared to go into a crawlspace to look at the pipes. He wore shoe covers going in and out the house. He wore his mask about 95% of the time (I wore mine the whole visit and kept my family in their rooms to be safe). I ended up paying $515.00 for a new part in my shower knob and he did blow compressed air through the pipe. But I am still without a shower. I got a quote for $1,400 to fix the issue by cutting the wall and changing the pipes to copper without replacement of my tile or wall. I am going to more than likely get a bathroom contractor that can do it all (the pipes and tile) if I must spend that type of money. I would recommend this company for plumbing emergencies or if you are looking for a plumbing company that offers free estimates before you decide on a plumbing job.

After the gas co. found a leak in my line on Friday eve and I started to fear cold showers all weekend, I called Captain Rooter on Saturday. Adam was responsive about letting me know when he would arrive. Adam and Hector came out within a couple of hours, did a pressure test on the system and found the leak behind the stove, which the gas co. had overlooked. They repaired it, re-tested the line and I was able to get my gas turned back on the next day, before the hot water ran out! Thanks guys.

I had a quarantine project go wrong and needed a quick rescue. Will and Joe were out at my place in 45 minutes - they provided both excellent service and perfect work with the added bonus of good humor and some much needed pleasant human interaction. We all wore masks and it was weird. Quarantine life. Will definitely call back when I replace my bathroom faucets. Thanks so much for a great experience!

We had an emergency gas line leak in our basement a day before we were supposed to go out of town on a Saturday. After confirming the leak with People's Gas, I quickly searched through YELP reviews and liked what I saw with Captain Rooter. They called back right away and within a little more than an hour, Patrick K. showed up at our door, quickly confirming the diagnosis and working skillfully to get it repaired. He answered our questions, did great work, and reassured us that it was all fixed. Problem solved -- very, very rapidly. It doesn't get much better than that.

Adam and his colleague did an excellent job! They were quick to respond when we had a water leak coming down from the ceiling. Communication was clear and they were very transparent on what needed to be done. They went above and beyond and helped us even move an old car and then cleaned up afterward! Highly recommend

This company came out with same day service at no extra charge to fix a leaky valve that I needed repaired. The job was completed fairly quickly and the technician Pat explained how to properly move forward to avoid any damages in the future. I received a great price compared to competitors and I would definitely recommend giving them a call for any plumbing issues that need to be corrected by a professional.

These guys were AMAZING. Called at 11am on a Saturday and they had a guy out here by 230pm. He quickly figured put the issue and was super knowledgeable about my tankless unit. These guys are the total package. They respond quickly and have rates that arent trying to bleed pockets. Huge shout out to Ronnie who came out and assessed the situation in minutes and also gave some insight on how horrible my contractor was which was very well needed. He even explained how some of my systems worked for me since my contractor never said a word to me. My contractor never installed a drain kit on my tankless water heaters. Rooters, Ronnie, will be back to install these for me at a great price. I will never call another plumber again. I will recommend these guys to anyone I know.

Cannot thank Adam enough for his quick and effective work! I had a kitchen sink pipe that's been slowly leaking, and he was able to come out immediately to take a look and replace the part. Super fast, friendly and easy, would definitely recommend these guys :)

Adam was courteous and responsive. He came late on Halloween night and had to return In the morning to finish the job. He was able to recognize that the leak in my sink cased water damage to my home and recommended a water restoration company. He worked clean and professionally. Kept this number in case!!!

Borderline scam company, interested in selling high priced services not fixing customer's problems.
Paid $425 for a service call they could not resolve. They tried the $1500 upsale for jetting service which was not required.
The next day I called Willies Drain cleaners who properly worked the tree root issue and pulled 6 clumps of roots out of the drain.
Fixed the problem Captain Rooter wouldn't and for $225.00.
Beware!! Not a good service. I gave one star since ZERO is not available.
Use a regular drain cleaning service before ever calling this bad company.

thank you Captain Rooter! We were having water coming up from the drain and it wouldn't stop. Adam came out very quickly and worked very hard. Very honest guy that did not over charge us. would recommend
