5 stars all around for Sound Plumbing! I requested a quote through Yelp and within 20 mins was scheduled for the following day. They offered same day but I wasn't home at the time.
Prompt arrival within the 1-hour window, removed shoes without asking, got straight to business and resolved the clogged tub right away!
10/10 will call again for any plumbing issues and you should too!
Sound plumbing does great work. We've had Mitch over to the house for several different jobs and he is excellent. He's straight forward and explains everything. Terrific experience.

Sound Plumbing came out again for a potential water leak that I've been losing my mind over for 6 months. They were kind about opening holes in the wall in unseen places so I wouldn't have to patch and asked me to confirm I felt I needed to open a visible hole elsewhere with their recommendation/insight before doing so. VERY professional and easy to work with.
There's no leak but Mitch winked at me so it was worth the $300. Literally any of this staff can call me anytime. Thanks again!
This outfit is amazing! I used them twice in the last week for some plumbing repairs and the removal of a stacked washer/gas dryer. Very responsive and super easy to schedule. I was able to text them photos before hand. Plumber was knowledgeable, worked clean, and did a great job. Really felt like he knew what he was doing and didn't waste any time doing it. Will definitely use them for any future plumbing issues.

This team is courteous, takes their time to explain options, and is price competitive. They have done renovation and sewer maintenance work for us and it's been a stellar experience all around.
I called the office and Debbie was able to get someone out to inspect a possible leak that day. Mitch was dispatched to our apartment to look for the leak. He was prompt, professional and knowledgeable. I had already removed a section of the ceiling to expose the pipes. He spent about an hour looking. Although we didn't find the source of the leak, Mitch suggested I not close up the ceiling for a while. It's been about a week and no leaks. He said it could have be my upstairs neighbor. Since it hasn't happened again, I haven't ask them. The cost of the inspection was very reasonable. I will definitly use Sound Plumbing again.Thanks Mitch.

If I could give 6 stars I would. I needed new valves under the kitchen sink and all new parts for my shower. Mitch and the Sound Plumbing team responded to my call immediately and got to work within a day. Their team is one of the nicest groups of people around and the entire experience was amazing. I will use this shop for all my plumbing needs in the future and highly recommend them to anyone.

Very happy. Small job, needed a new sump pump. Scheduler said they could have someone over pretty quickly. Technician came out within a couple of hours although I told them it wasn't an emergency. We talked about repair vs replace. I thought he was very reasonable, no high pressure sales / anything like that.
Installed a new pump, tested it out. Everything working great.
Scheduling was super easy.
I really liked the technician.

Its hard to find a great plumber - after being ghosted by the first, the second was clueless and left me with zero confidence, sound plumbing was my third attempt to get my water heater leak fixed. I was hopeful based on the previous reviews. The company were amazing! Quick, responsive and reasonably priced. The gentleman who arrived was polite, courteous and professional but most of all he knew what he was talking about. He resolved my issue quickly and didn't try to sell me on a solution I didn't need (unlike the other company). Highly recommend and will for sure use again!

I hired sound plumbing to install new pipes for a bathroom I was building on my second floor. They were incredible to work with. Kevin was a helpful collaborator who worked around my DIY project and even gave me ideas on how to make it better. They were transparent about their pricing and worked with me to come out under their original estimate. I hired Sound for two jobs--one doing some small repairs on sinks and toilets, and another installing a new faucet on my kitchen sink. The booking process was quick and easy, and the plumbers who came out were efficient, friendly, and knowledgable. I will definitely work with them again!
Finally I have found a plumber that I can trust. I needed a saddle valve replaced. They responded and scheduled quickly and then completed the job in less time than they estimated. I had a different plumber replace a saddle valve in the recent past that cost me hundreds more!

I used Sound Plumbing to inspect the plumbing at a property I was buying. They did a thorough job, scoped the sewer with a camera and checked all the accessible pipes and insured me everything was in good shape. I would use them again.
Great small business. Will definitely use them for future issues and improvements. Very responsive.
I arranged everything over a couple of quick text messages, which is IMHO just the best and most relaxed way to set up appointments. Neil showed up next day promptly at the agreed upon time window and quickly identified and solved the problem, he was in and out in less than an hour. No upcharge, no random 'gotcha' surprise issues. Just straightforward service and good vibes all around. Got my invoice within 1-2 hours of the appointment, paid online, and that was that. Would definitely hire them again.
Excellent service, saved us a ton of money by helping us navigate getting a replacement part that was covered, excellent service all around. And genuinely nice people to work with!

Just want to give a shout out to Mitch and Neil for a great job installing a laundry for me. The company is very responsive and upfront with costs. They were also able to get out to me within 48 hours. They were on time and professional. Will use them again.
Sound Plumbing did a fantastic job replacing a toilet. They worked around my schedule. Mitch was fantastic and extremely professional. When I ordered the incorrect toilet he went back across town to get the correct one and didn't even charge me double for the extra delivery. Will be using Sound Plumbing for all future projects.
My experience with Sound Plumbing:
* Provided an accurate and reasonable estimate.
* Showed up with everything needed to do the work.
* Utilized state-of-the-art copper crimp fittings. Really cool stuff.
* Utilized the proper tools for each task. Had a puller for compression washers and angle stop wrenches. The crimper tool is mesmerizing.
* Very accurate placement of fixtures. Everything is plumb, flush and level.
These guys really give a shit about their trade. Instead of having to interrupt when things aren't done properly, I spent my time learning a few things.

I love these guys! I have used them 3 different times for various issues at my properties and would use them at my home if they were willing to drive to the burbs. They have been great! Always on time, professional, neat, super friendly and fairly priced. Most importantly, they do a great job and are super honest. They will even refer you to plumbers they like if they are unable to work with you due to their schedule or whatever. Extremely trustworthy! It is awesome to be able to work with professionals you can trust.

I should have reviewed this a long time ago - my disposal started leaking under my sink...I posted on yelp for quotes or people that would be interested in my neighborhood for this small job. I got a few responses but Sound got back to me right away and was able to come the next day. He offered to bring a comparable disposal or if I opted to get my own he would install. I let him do it all. Not only did he come and do the work fast and efficient - he also fixed the pressure on my sink that has boggled my mind since I've lived here. Great guy - highly recommended.
Thank goodness for Kevin & his awesome team. I've used them many times over the years and have never had anything but a 5-star experience. They're all super nice guys who do great work without trying to gauge you on the price. After bad experiences using other companies, I will NEVER use anyone else in Chicago.
Sound Plumbing sent someone within hours of our request for service. Mitch was able to get our problem resolved quickly and efficiently. He was also very knowledgeable and didn't mind me asking a lot of questions. I would definitely use them again in the future.
Called for a routine toilet fix, had to come back twice because it was being finicky, but came back in the same day without extra charge. Even showed me around my house in terms of water main shut-off, tutorial of my homes plumbing, etc. A+ service, and price was reasonable, will use again instead of trying to fix the toilet myself and making it worse off than it was!
Great service so far. Asked them out late to fix a shower and said they could come back to care of a few other issues but they just took care of pretty much everything. Guys were efficient, courteous and appeared to do good work.
Our sink backed up in the middle of COVID lock down - these guys came quick, well prepared and got everything working well! They were dressed in protective gear, and had us open doors / gates for an easy, no-contact fix! Thanks gentlemen -will be calling you for our next plumbing needs!
Sound installed a new hot water tank and pump for our 110-year-old condo building the Summer of 2018. They were outstanding from my very first conversation with them, and their work was impressive despite the challenging idiosyncrasies of a large, old building. Their quote was competitive and the work finished right on budget and time.

I feel that continued excellence always deserves an updated review. It is hard to go though Yelp reviews and decide who you want to choose. If you are looking for a place that will never let you down, this is it. Kevin and his crew, including the person that works with scheduling are amazing to work with. Polar vortex, frozen busted pipes at 6:00 am in the morning. The entire condo buildings water supply shut off until the repair could be made. That all happened. Sound plumbing came to save the day. I could not recommend a business anymore than this one. Always a super end to a stressful experience. Amazing.
Mid-kitchen remodel, I realized I needed the gas line to my stove moved about a foot to accommodate new cabinets. I contacted four different plumbers who quoted me a minimum of $400 to do what I knew would be less than an hour's worth of work. When I contacted Sound Plumbing, Debbie told me they charge by the hour, and the job I was asking for would be two hours max. All in all, it took an hour and a half, and they prorated the half hour on my invoice. The work was top notch. Now I know who I'll go to if I need any other plumbing done.
I called regarding a leaking pvc pipe under my kitchen sink. Debbie was able to get Neil over within 20 minutes after my call. Issue was fixed within 15 minutes! Great plumber and company. Thanks!!
Awesome experience with Kevin and Mario! My hot water heater went out and I called a few plumbers, having to leave voicemails for each. Called Sound Plumbing and Kevin answered the phone, asked me some questions and was able to diagnose the issue. He came out within a few hours, cleaned the flame sensor and the water heater started working again.
Unfortunately, it went out again after an hour, so the next morning he sent Mario who wound up calling GE tech support to determine what to do. I was able to order the part and Kevin instructed me on how to install it myself. It has been several days and it's still running, but when it's time to replace, I will definitely call Kevin.
Did a fair job on some simple plumbing repairs. Way too expensive though. You can find just as good of plumbers elsewhere for cheaper, which is my plan. They did make mistakes on some very simple stuff. If I didn't catch it, they would have had to come back out again. Also, didn't have a simple part (a cartridge) for fixing a leak from sink. Not sure if it's common not to have parts like that readily available but would seem smart to do so. Thus, had to make time for plumbers to come out twice and their hours are very limited. They don't work after 4:00 PM or weekends. Doesn't fit my schedule too well. Must say workers and appointment scheduler were all very polite, pleasant, and attentive.

Sound was prompt and fixed a broken external faucet that had been leaking for a while. Everyone was very friendly and pricing was fair.

During the cold weather we had a pipe burst. While they were very busy due to the high volume of pipe bursts in the city, they were extremely late in making our appointment. We weren't given an estimate to fix the issue and instead were sent a $400 bill to stop the leak. What we late learned was that the plumber didn't even re attach the pipes so that we could use our washer and dryer. Net net, we had a late plumber, a $400 charge to stop a leak and not even fix it.
Not recommended until your issue is not urgent and you receive a firm quote beforehand.

These people are over the top. We have used them several times and have always had our expectations exceeded. Will not use anyone else as long as they're around. Hats off to Kevin for finding the best team members!
Sound Plumbing is the best! Anytime we have an issue (and we bough a house with some issues...) they come out quickly and solve it efficiently. They have also enhanced our home with a few projects to add water and gas to outdoor spaces. They leave the house very clean, accurately and fairly quote the work and are always friendly and helpful.
I've worked with Sound Plumbing on a number of occasions and have had nothing but positive experiences. Their 5 stars are well deserved. Everyone I've interacted with has been professional, courteous and most importantly competent. They're efficient while still taking the time to explain what they're doing and why. The pricing was competitive when I first hired them to replace a hot water heater and it's refreshing to have someone I can rely on whenever a plumbing issues arises. I cannot recommend Sound Plumbing enough. If everyone operated like they do, we wouldn't need to depend on Yelp to find good help.
Oh jeez, just reminded that my last review for Sound Plumbing was 7 years ago. Yes, I'm a negligent homeowner. Kevin came out and rodded/cleaned out our main stack, out to the street, pulling out beginnings of tree's. Already put in a calendar reminder. Again, awesome communication from scheduling options to what is going on and what needs to be done. Thanks Kevin/Sound Plumbing!
While this wasn't a perfect experience, I was happy with Sound Plumbing. Originally I sent a picture of the cast iron flange in a guest bath I needed repaired and they gave me a quote. When it came time for my appointment, they called and asked if they could come an hour early. I rearranged my day to accommodate... then waited half an hour past the earlier time they were supposed to come. But when they did show up, the guys were friendly and professional. Got straight to work. Being nice to my overly-friendly dog made up for the lateness. They installed a new flange, and it was so well done we joked about not setting the toilet at all so I could just show guests the flange. However they did slightly chip the tile, and if anyone looks closely enough the chip is visible even with the toilet installed. Then I got the bill, which was almost 3x as much as I was quoted. At no point was I informed about the cost going up so much. The owner did review the bill for me, explained why it had been more than expected, and brought the price down to meet me somewhere in the middle.
Ultimately the work was as beautiful as a closet flange can be and these guys are clearly good at what they do. And I completely understand that a cast-iron flange in a 100 year old building gave them more trouble than your average repair. I would probably even use Sound Plumbing again, because the guys were great. But I have to dock a star for asking me to rearrange my day to show up early, then not showing up much earlier. And for the fact that no one told me either before, during, or after the repair that it was going to cost so much more than I'd been quoted, until I got the bill. I really appreciate the owner working with me on the cost, but I feel like you should be warned at some point if the bill is going to be more than 10-20% over. And DEFINITELY if it's going to be 300% of the quote.

These guys are legit! We were experiencing issues after a remodel where we weren't getting any cold water. Kevin and his team were very thorough and was able to locate the issue. Unfortunately we had to cut some walls and break down some tile, but Kevin was able to fix it in little time. I would certainly recommend Sound Plumbing! They are really efficient, effective and very affordable! Thank you!!

Kevin and his team are fantastic! We have had a couple of leaks corrected and a water heater installed and they are always prompt, courteous, and are very competent at their craft. I can be somewhat neurotic about our house and appreciate that Kevin is willing to help out and give tips to make sure things are maintained correctly and always willing to answer my questions.
Amazing service. I ran into an issue with my new stove. The gas pipe needed to be moved. The owner, Kevin, accommodated might tight work schedule and completed the work the same morning. Another contractor provided an outrageous estimate that was extremely over complicated and unnecessarily destructive. So glad I contacted Sound Plumbing for a second opinion. It saved me hundreds of dollars and tons of heartache.

I have been far from the most active member of the Yelp community. But today I had the pleasure of connecting with Kevin at Sound Plumbing and felt moved to say a few kind words. As most of you know, it's generally miserable to deal with contractors when things go wrong in your home. You don't know where to start, you don't know who to trust, and you feel like everyone is giving you bad information. We had some pretty bad water coming from around the shower and had Kevin take a look. Kevin helped get to the bottom of the issue, and quickly identified the 'real' problem, even if it wasn't a problem that resulted in much (or even any) plumbing work for him personally. I'm appreciative for people like Kevin that have such professionalism. And while I hope for no future plumbing issues that require his services, if they do arrive I know where to go.

Immediate, responsive and highly responsible! Thank you to Kevin and his team to come out today with a leaked pipe from the two flat. Kevin was the only person in this 10 Yelp list of plumbers in the area to pick up the phone and come out within 30minutes of helping to fix the leaking problem! The job was well done, neat, careful, this is an old building and he knew how to manage the job! He gave me an estimate of low to high and it came under! Quick in texting and was able to pay through quick pay with bank! 21st century plumbers! Highly recommend and already now our plumber!

Unfortunately, after several voice mails and a conversation over the phone I couldn't even get Kevin from Sound Plumbing to 1) understand what my problem was or 2) be interested enough to come out to provide an estimate (for a job that likely pays over $1k). In my book, that equals Fail.
I will certainly not waste more time in the future by trying to contact this company.

I love the idiot that gave Sound Plumbing one star. You can't make everyone happy I guess. Especially that moron. You should read the rest of his reviews, that guy wouldn't give 5 starts to his grandma for a home cooked meal
Good thing I took that dip wads review with a grain of salt. I have hired Kevin for some smaller demo projects of my old bathroom and kitchen. I will be hiring him for the trim portion of my said kitchen and the new bathroom that I intend on installing in the near future.
I'm in the skilled trades like Kevin and I know for a fact you can't find much better of a craftsman or a more honest and down to earth guy.
I'll refer him to everyone I know needing a plumber.
After 10 years in Chicago, we finally found our plumber. Kevin was prompt and communicative, and our plumber, Arturo, was spot on and FAST, which is great when you're paying by the hour! All told, we paid half of what we were quoted by two other highly rated plumbers on Yelp.
Best plumbers around. Peace of mind. Exceeded expectations with new sink rough-in that made a floating sink setup really look incredible. Took their time to make it look clean and didn't just slap it together.
Kevin and his guys are too notch . We had to have our tankless water heater replaced only after 4 years . My Husband did all the research and coordinating . Kevin gave us several options to choose from . We were done dealing with the tankless water heater from hell, quietside!! We found out this brand should have never been installed in our climate. The final bill was lower than we thought it would be. Kevin is very reasonable . We will continue to go to him for all future plumbing needs.

Having done a gut rehab I've dealt with tons of contractors and have become fluent in contractor speak: I'll be by at 11 means some time @ 3pm, I'll be there tomorrow means some time next week. So what a nice change to find someone who actually does what they say! They showed up on time, came back when they said they would and did a great job. Highly recommended!

I have used these guys three separate times (including 2 emergency plumbing issues) and they have been fantastic. Each time I have called and left a message, heard back immediately and someone has arrived at our door step within the hour. Guys are friendly, knowledgable and reasonably priced. Very trust worthy. They have fixed a toilet that had been leaking water all over the floor, replaced a kitchen faucet, repaired a running toilet and a shower handle. We haven't had any problems since.

I was recommended Sound Plumbing and I couldn't be happier. Kevin was incredibly helpful and gave me a good, better, best scenarios for the job we asked of him. This is my 2nd time using Sound. Water heater went out on Sunday. Noel was kind enough to call me on a Sunday night, and make time to come out the next day. 18 year old water heater - when we opened it up, there was a lot wrong with it (melted parts, etc); it was unsafe.
They walked me through options, and in the end - it was just better/safer/cheaper to replace. They were able to work around my schedule. Quality of work is fantastic; these guys are honest and fair. They came in under the estimate on cost.
Wouldn't use anyone else.

Kevin is a amazing. He's helped us a few times with plumbing tragedies. When we first called him to figure out why our washing machine wasn't draining he fixed the problem and rerouted the mess of pipes under our sink in a more efficient way. He's done some other work for us, always friendly, and always reasonably priced. He responds quickly and always tries to work us into his schedule whenever we have an emergency. He's a great find.
I've never had more confidence working with a contractor, period. Kevin clearly knows his stuff, and enjoys sharing his expertise with others. Fair price, straight-shooter, came on just a couple hours' notice, and got the job done right. Easy decision.
We have used Sound Plumbing twice now. Both experiences have been excellent. The first time they responded promptly to a leak and repaired it quickly. The second time we called them to upgrade our kitchen faucet and bathroom shower. Both times we received prompt and friendly five star service.
Used Sound Plumbing today to change a kitchen faucet and troubleshoot a toilet not working right. This company is very easy to make an appointment with and arrived on time. Both jobs completed and all is working fine. I felt the price was fair. Very happy and I would recommend them.
Very impressed with the high level of professionalism and the end product. Both Kevin and Moe were willing to work during the middle of the night to get the job done. Kevin also maintained an open line of communication with the flooring guy who also was sharing the work on the project. The cliché that its hard to find good help is notwithstanding with Sound Plumbing - my staff & I are delighted with the high quality and craftsmanship.

Yelp was right again!!! I read the reviews and really preferred someone in the hood. I saw the positive reviews for Kevin and gave him a call. When I called, he was driving. He went out of his way to pull over to listen to my issue and make plans to come and look at my plumbing problem. We planned for the next day as my issues was a slow leak and not an emergency. He was great to talk with, did not make me feel rushed, listened to my issues and graciously offered to come and look at the problem.
He showed up on time and, in fact, he was here early. He looked at the problem, identified the unique challenges of the tight space he had to work in. Before he got deep into the repair, we discussed an estimated price, barring any majors issues. He performed the work and actually went so far as to make an added enhancement. (My copper pipe was touching a galvanized metal air duct. He fixed the leak and also rerouted the pipe about 2 inches so it would no longer touch the duct and potentially corrode the less noble metal.) The repair went as planned and the cost was what he originally quoted, with no surprises. He supplied the parts and did a very neat and clean job on the solder joints. In fact, his work looks MUCH better than the original developer's work.
Ultimately, the price was very fair and I cannot be more happy with the job Kevin performed. I would HIGHLY recommend him to others looking for the right person for the job at a fair price.
Kevin fix my clogged bathtub and was wonderful! He was flexible with my schedule, called to check in before he arrived and showed up right on time. He even checked the rest of the plumbing in my bathroom and tightened/fixed a few things that needed adjustment. I would recommend him to anyone. Thanks Kevin!

I hope I never have any more plumbing issues but if I do, I know the first and only person I will call is Sound Plumbing. I had an issue with my toilet not flushing properly. I describe the problem over the phone and Kevin quoted me a price. And I won't state it here because each plumbing issue is unique, but after the work was done the final bill was only slightly hire than the quoted price. Found out the toilet was not installed properly. (Doesn't surprise me since the developer of my condo is pretty much a crook). And not only did he fix the toilet, but as he was repairing it he explained his reasoning for what needed to be done. I never felt ripped off. The other plumbers I called and I called a quite a few, told me they would charge $40 -$50 just for coming out, and this charge was a totally separate from the bill I would get to fix my problem. Plumbers get a bad rep, but I wanted to give my review of one of the good guys. Thank you Sound Plumbing

I had to have a garbage disposal replaced... they were so easy to work with. I called for an estimate which was very reasonable but then I always assume the work will end up being on that high end but it was actually lower! They called bc they were running early!! So nice to not sit around and wait until the last second of the time window on whether or not they will show up. He was very efficient, gave me options for what could/could not be done and cleaned up. I would definitely recommend them.
I called very last minute and Kevin and his partner had no problem making time for me even though it was well into their day. I really appreciated it. They did great work and were both super professional. I highly recommend them.

Kevin and his team are awesome. I've used them twice now - once to snake a tricky drain and now to replace an old and broken shower diverter and faucet. Kevin is prompt to respond and does the work that is needed quickly. The quote was reasonable and the work excellent. His diagnosis of the issues are honest and transparent. I would use Sound Plumbing in the future.

Kevin rocked our world. Our slow drain in the bathroom crawled to a stop and he was there the next day in a snow storm to make it all better. Kevin returned my phone calls and texts immediately, charged us appropriately for the work and was simply a kind, affable guy throughout the process. I will not only use him in the future but will happily recommend him to friends.
Since I used Yelp to find Sound Plumbing, I thought it was only fair to register and echo the reviews of others. Despite it being Saturday afternoon, Kevin responded to my voicemail promptly, arrived at our place in Edgewater just a little later and had our kitchen sink up and running (with a much-improved pipe assembly) in no time. Icing on the cake was a his incredibly reasonable price for a job well done. HIGHLY recommended!!
I live in Berwyn so I wasn't sure if Kevin would want to come out to the southwest side to do work. It was no problem for him and he came and replaced my old, leaky toilet. He was prompt, knowledgeable and courteous and even hauled away my old toilet so that I didn't have to deal with discarding it. While he was here, he was happy to look at other areas of my house that I'm having issues with. I'll most certainly hire him again!

Kevin knows his stuff. Made time that worked with our unusual schedule and took care of our repair though what was a particularly challenging impediments. On time, on budget, and the repair is gorgeous. Also, a really nice guy. No need to call anyone else.

We had a lot of plumber-related work to be done on our place.
We bought a bank-owned home, so we weren't really sure what we were going to get. As he was opening up some walls, our carpenter noticed some strange plumbing things going on. We knew that would probably happen, so I hired Kevin based on about five interviews with other plumbers.
Kevin did the following work: ran gas lines to install a gas stove/range and also for a fireplace; ran gas line outside for a grill; re-pitched our sink drain running from the kitched (which was a problem he had another house in the neighborhood); installed new showerhead, new temperature guage, and three independant shut-off valves in master shower; ran 3/4 pipe to master shower; resolved cold/hot water issues and other water pressure problems throughout; he expanded the drain mouth in same master shower; fixed gas-capture elbow joint in same master shower drain.
I'm sure he did more things than those listed, but this was the bulk of it (or what I can remember). In fact, he came back to fix something extra I didn't even know was wrong, and he did it free of charge. Overall, I think Kevin's work ethic is what separated him from others. He never ceased until he was satsified that the job was done perfectly. He genuinely seemed to care that he fix the problems in our place and cared that he did them properly and to a high level quality satisfaction. His charges seemed fair, but then again, I don't really have a lot to compare them with. But,
I would definitely hire Kevin in the future. In fact, I have to call him soon to fix yet another plumbing issue.

Kevin did an amazing job modernizing/ retrofitting the pluming in our condo. Other plumbers walked away from this job but Kevin thought creatively and did a wonderful job installing a brand new shower where one never existed before, putting in a new washer dryer set up where it never existed before, and replacing the old piping with copper piping for our tub/shower. I was thinking later about why I was so pleased with his service and realized that it was his attitude (along with his obvious skill). Other contractors I had come in to look at various parts of the job (particularly the plumbing) were snarky to rude about my budget and the fact that we would be doing most of the construction work ourselves. Kevin was always professional and helpful.

Kevin has done 2 repairs for me over the past year and they were both great experiences. He's very professional, reasonable and helpful. The most recent repair got a little complicated due to my building's water pump system. He came in the next day after the repair was completed to help us figure out the water pump - something that my own building maintenance man was unhelpful with. Now, not only is my bathtub faucet working, our building's water pressure is amazing. Very happy.

I just had the best experience working with Kevin from Sound Plumbing. Due to a leak and some minimal water damage, I needed both my bathroom toilet and sink replaced. Kevin was prompt in returning my call, coming in for an estimate and getting the work done in a jiffy. His work is top notch. Last but not least - Kevin's prices are beyond reasonable. I can't wait to have a friend who needs a plumber so I can send him their way!

My experience with Sound Plumbing was as follows - we own a 2-flat building with friends, and Kevin worked on the plumbing when the upstairs bathroom was renovated. We liked the work we saw, so hired him to work on our bathroom - first floor unit. The work began with a large plumbing stack being re-situated and re-set into the basement floor. Then Kevin re-rerouted all 4 of the major points to the new bathroom - sink, tub, shower, and toilet. So the work was considerable.
He is detail-oriented, and treats plumbing as a science.
Most importantly, Kevin does not appear to take shortcuts, he would rather do the job correctly the first time than come back to work on it again.
Strong work, and everything happened within a relatively short timeframe. Kevin also worked well with the other workers on the site - Carpenter, Electrician, etc. This was crucial because they sometimes overlapped on the job, and some flexibility was required.
I would highly recommend giving Kevin a call for any plumbing work you need done.

I work at a non profit art gallery in the river west area and had to finish installing an exhibit for an opening two weeks ago. After arriving early in the AM to finish installing the show, I noticed that one of our toilets was not flushing. In fact, it started overflowing into the bathroom. I had too much on my plate and immediately knew I needed a plumber. i called Sound Plumbing and talked to Kevin. I was on the way to his next job and he said he'd be right over. Kevin showed up less than 20 minutes later, snake in hand, and got right to work. Within minutes, he cleared the obstruction and had the toilet working fine. Problem solved. Never before have i had such a professional and prompt response from someone in the trades. I will definitely use Sound Plumbing the next time the need (and waters) arise.
I had several Plumbing Companies look at and bid on my project; completion of a custom shower so installation of the trim and fixtures. It was however a complex custom shower including steam, a ceiling rain shower unit, body spays and more. During the bid process I encountered indifferent, snarky and demeaning plumbers who were not even familiar with the new/ current fixtures. Not Kevin and company, they are current, up to date and knew exactly what to do. Kevin took on the challenge with out blinking and was genuinely and sincerely interested in the challenging job and making us thrilled with the results. The attention to detail and the quality of work delivered was exceptional. When they saw a potential problem they figured out a way to move past it quickly. They were transparent about cost, arrived on time and were a most excellent value based on some of the bids I recieved. Don't trust your home to some out dated, snarky, indifferent plumbing company, no need to call anyone else.
I can't recommend Sound enough! We've hired them for two different issues in the last week. (Loss of water to building/leak & leaking water heater and replacement) They're smart, friendly, very reasonably priced, trustworthy, and fast. I'm so happy to know they're in the neighborhood!
Sound Plumbing did a great job fixing my leaking and broken toilet. True professionals through and through, they explained every portion of the repair as they went through it and then told me how I can maintain quality of my pipes after they left. Excellent A+ service.
We hired Kevin to do the plumbing when we rehabbed our kitchen. He moved our sink over two feet along with all the water lines and installed a dishwasher and garbage disposal. The job was more complicated then what we originally talked about but he was very flexible and did a great job. His estimate was accurate and the amount he charged for his services was very reasonable. His work was high quality and he was prompt, reliable, thorough, and courteous. Kevin also did us the added favor of cleaning our pipes to restore water pressure to our second story unit. I would recommend Kevin, without hesitation, to anyone in need of plumbing services.
Kevin was super responsive! He called to ask me if I minded movings things around since he had an emergency issue come up but was very respectful if I couldn't move things around. After getting an outrageous quote for a leak repair in my master bathroom I found Kevin of Sound plumbing on yelp and called him immediately. He came out and assessed the situation, talked me through how to remove old caulking (so I would save money on labor) and gave me a fair quote to fix the leak. I definitely will be calling him again if any more issues arise in my condo.
Kevin did a great job replacing some pipes in our basement. He was very cool and gave us a good price and I'll recommend him to anyone!

I interviewed 5 plumbers before deciding to work with Kevin on our kitchen remodel and updates to two bathrooms. Kevin is fantastic. He's meticulous, taking care not only to get things done right but also to make his work look beautiful. That's no easy feat in a vintage building with old pipes, but he managed to do it. I have already recommended him to our neighbors.

Kevin is knowledgeable, hard working, and a nice guy. I have hired him for several jobs and will definitely use him in the future.
Kevin replaced 2 toilets and 2 faucets. Was responsive and timely and left the house in great shape. Highly recommended!
Kevin fixed our plumbing problem however the reasons for my 3 star rating are the following:
1. he was almost an hour late and he told us he'll be late 5 mins before the scheduled time.
2. he ended up charging us way more than his initial quote. Granted that his initial diagnosis was wrong, we ended up not having a choice since he was already there. He said the parts were more expensive, etc.
3. we referred him to other people and I think since he felt we were already committed, he wouldnt schedule an early appointment any more so my neighbors ended up waiting a week.
4. Our trusted plumber costs almost 100% less than him. The reason why we hired him was because it was an emergency and we wanted the job done ASAP and our plumber couldn't do it ASAP. As an example, our plumber charged us $80 to replace our toilet. When we asked Kevin, he quoted us $150 AND if there are any complications in changing the toilet, it might be more.
5. he didn't give us a receipt. He said he'll email it to us but he didn't even get our email address!!!
