Juan was very responsive. He explained the process to me and even went to buy a new toilet once we decided I needed a new one. He and his brother worked quickly and was very respectful of my home. I will definitely call them again when needed.

I had a simple job: a water shut off valve and line from my sink to the refrigerator. Juan responded quickly and thankfully came out the same day. He diligently found the old line valve and eliminated it, installed the new one and check for leaks with every change he made. He must have checked for leaks like 5 times to make sure it was all sealed. He also cleaned all areas when he was done.

Five stars all the way! I had a clogged shower drain. Called Juan yesterday.  He answered right away. Offered to come same day, but next day was better for me. Stated he would be out between 8-9am and was there ready to work. Fixed our problem quickly,  and gave a good price for the work done. Also gave me tips to prevent problem from reoccurring,  so he was also honest. I am not wishing for any more plumbing issues, but if I will choose his company again.

I have had Juan come out twice to look at 2 issues. He used his camera scope to diagnose a drain issue and also installed a new sump pump for me.

All around one of the best experiences I have had with a contractor. He was helpful in sharing his knowledge. He didn't take on work where he felt it was outside his expertise. When he did the sump pump install, it was very detailed and the price was very fair.

This is our second time using the same service, and they have provided a wonderful experience again.

We messaged for a quote at 11pm on a Thursday night and they responded within 10 minutes and came out the next day. They came out for a quote but ended up fixing all issues (even small ones I didn't initially ask about)

These guys are what customer service should be. In Chicago right now it's colder than a polar bear's a**. My water heater decided to not stay lit so I can have hot water during the coldest days. I have American Home Shield, but they haven't scheduled my service within 24hours so that will be a different review. However, I sent a message on Yelp and this was the second company to respond. I didn't like the first company's set up. I hate paying for people to just come out so I went with this company. There wasn't a negative review to be found, and I can see why. They are quick, efficient, and reasonably priced. It's hard to find good help. I will use them again; hopefully no time soon, and recommend them as well. When I like you, I'll support your business. Juan came out because one of the toilets in my home kept running. The water kept running. Juan replaced the fill valve, flapper and supply line. He even looked at the walk in tub/shower drain in the same bathroom. He told me he can fix it and it won't leak he gave me a price. He told me if he can't fix it he there would be no charge. He tried to fix it but he checked and it still leaked after he fixed what he fixed. That was no charge. The toilet he fixed it and I am very satisfied with the work Juan did and the price was very reasonable.

Amazing customer service! Expert knowledge, very thorough and patient! Homeownership of an old house from 1930s, even in normal times, can be nerve-racking with many unknowns causing stress and difficulty in risk management. Juan came out and did the most thorough cleaning of the pipes. Inside, outside and to the street. I've got a lot of roots and with his camera, he showed me exactly where the problem areas are and was able to show before and after.

The ability to clearly communicate and answer my questions was super. I highly recommend this company. It is never cheap, but is a great investment to ensure years of problem free plumbing.

Great place. They had to come out twice. We had water noises, bad smells, and bubbling through our toilet. They came out and identified 1 significant contribution. They corrected the problem for the price the quoted and they outlined what they may need to do next if that didn't resolve it.

It didn't resolve all of the issues, so they came back out the following week. Did more work again for the price they quoted.

Not only did they do a great job at a fair price, but they explained everything to me along the way. Probably spent 8-10 hours working and explaining.

I had Juan and his team to replace a kitchen sink for us. The team was the best. Juan and the team did an excellent job, and they were really fast and made everything look really nice. And they cleaned up everything after they finished. I would definitely recommend him if you need to hire someone for sink installation, the price was reasonable among all others that I requested. Juan and company were great. Contacted them using Yelp and he was out here the next day with a free estimate. He was able to start immediately which was also helpful and unexpected.
They fixed a severely clogged sink. Some copper water piping replacement that was showing signs of corrosion. Inspected what I thought was a severe leak that only turned out to be a slow leaking outdoor faucet. Even took the time to give me a helpful tutorial on adjusting the water level for my sump pump.

I found Juan originally for help on a toilet leak, and now he's my go-to plumber. He's amazing at explaining exactly what's going on, has a patient demeanor, and is extremely professional. I trust him on all his diagnoses and fixes. Our home is in great shape thanks to him!

Juan and his colleague went above and beyond on a service call! I needed a toilet installed in my elderly parents bathroom. Juan assisted me through the purchasing process, advised me on how to measure for proper fitting, evaluated pictures I sent, and answered many questions. He was reasonably priced and offered to come out the next day.

Because we weren't sure if an elongated toilet would work in this small space, I purchased two. Juan installed the base of the elongated so my parents could actually see how it fit. We went with the round toilet and Juan also took the time to install safety rails on it and advised my parents not to use as a support bar to get in the shower.

Lastly, any business owner who actually takes the time to reply to his customer's reviews, shows how he cares about them. We'll have Juan back for another project for sure! As others mentioned, they came in mask ready and were incredibly polite, efficient, and cleaned up. Thank you!

Juan and his team are top notch.  After promptly responding to my request for a quote, he came over the next day to inspect our broken faucet, drain issues, and shower leaks.

He described why the problems were happening, and explained the fixes in plain language.  This helped me understand what was behind the costs he was quoting.

A few weeks ago my sump pump gave us issues and A&Y plumbing was quick to respond. They came by the next day and were able to fix my problem within a few hours. They also provided me options with different types of solutions based on my budget. This made me feel great about the solution and provided me peace of mind that I was getting a good deal.

Juan was great to work with.  He came out within a day of me asking for a fix for my shower cartridge (not an emergency either). The cost was what I expected, and he completed the job faster than I anticipated.

Juan replaced my 75-gallon water heater. It was a more complex job than initially thought, as it required numerous adjustments to existing gas and water pipes to accommodate the new unit (of a different brand), but Juan was patient and thorough to make sure the job was done right (despite the extra time commitment required). This was the third large plumbing job that I've hired Juan to tackle. I always find him to be extremely responsive, friendly, knowledgeable and more affordable than others. He takes tremendous pride in his work and never looks for the easy shortcut, which is why I continue to make him my first/only call when a plumbing issue arises. You won't regret doing the same.

Had a backed up ejector pump that was causing backups in the furnace runoff...Juan contacted me immediately and first of the projects I set out to bid and happy to see he was highly recommended...he came out in less than 12 hours and was able to address the issue and took great care of installing a new pump that should last much longer than the cheap plastic one that failed.  Really happy with the outcome and no more issues

A friend tried to help us fix a water filter issue and inadvertently caused a leak that made the kitchen unusable so we needed to call a plumber as an emergency that could be dealt with immediately. Juan & coworker assessed what was needed and were able to do a repair quickly and at reasonable price. While they were fixing it they noticed a problem with dishwasher hook up done by prior owners likely as a DIY job as it was done incorrectly (hazard). They went to buy a part, and came back and did that in the same visit. 100% recommend.

We appreciate the professionalism and resourcefulness that Juan and his crew demonstrated throughout the whole process. They are not only very respectful and arrived on time, but also very good and thorough at what they do. We had a leaking garbage disposal that we found out about on a Friday night. Juan came out the very next day and replaced it for me at a very reasonable price. He also fixed a p trap that was about to leak with some spare parts that he had in his truck.

On top of that he also gave me some great advice on some other plumbing projects that I'm working on.

About 1 week  ago my water heater broke ... I called several plumbers and they were the only ones to respond right away and come out same to replace the water heater.  Most other companies told me it would be a few days.  Plus their rate was definitely reasonable.  I would recommend, refer, and use again if need be.

He responded quickly came out the next day knew actually what the problem was. Also he was mask ready and I have no shoe policy in my home and I didn't have to tell him anything he came with the footies on. Definitely recommend him!

I had a leak in my water heater and put a request on Yelp for a plumber. Juan was the first to respond and gave me a quote over the phone. 30 minutes later, he was at my house doing a hands-on inspection. He came back the next morning with a new water heater. He noticed that some of the pipes attached to the old heater were out of code, so he replaced them at the original price he quoted over the phone, even though the job took much longer than expected.
he noticed a small gas leak coming out of the area where the gas shutoff valve was and he replaced that as well. There was an extra charge, but I was happy to pay it.

Juan came out to replace a wax ring on a toilet. He quickly did the work and the toilet is now very secure. He was  friendly and able to do the work with a days notice. Reasonable price and very responsive. I would definitely use him again for any plumbing work I need done.

Juan & his son were AMAZING! This company should be called Heaven Sent! They were such a blessing to me and my family. I am so thankful to Juan and his partner for their assistance with finding the orgin of leaking pipe that was the cause a lot of problems and repairing it at a fair and reasonable price! Although, they are a small independent business, they out perform the larger plumbing companies that will come up when you do a Google search! They are polite,  professional and knowledgeable. After having the other major plumbing companies come out and not find the orgin of a leaking pipe, Juan had it pinpointed in about an hour! Him and his partner then repaired the problem in about 2 hours (with no breaks.)  They left all work areas spotless and were very considerate about Covid precautions.  I wish I would have found them sooner!

Juan is the only plumber provided the estimate of the water heater model that I wanted.  He arrived on schedule and performed the installation.  The unit was defective, not Juan's fault, where he called Rheem to expedite the part.  The part arrived the next day and Juan came the following day and got my new water heater resolved.

All the prior five stars reviews are correct. Juan and the gentleman that accompanied him did a fantastic job putting in a new toilet for me. Efficient, cleaned up everything afterwards, friendly, and most important...knowledgeable about plumbing. Extremely fair pricing. You get the sense he is a very honest individual and I sometimes get vibes from other professionals that they are trying to extract every dime they could from a job. I did not feel this at all with Juan. I didn't know anything about toilets and Juan spent time on the phone with me before I had even booked him for a job explaining details to look for that I wouldn't have known. Contacted him back once the toilet arrived and he promptly responded to my text with a day and time. Even took time after he finished the job to explain a separate issue I was having with one of my pipes regarding the washer (went down to the basement, etc.). I've stored his number in my phone and won't hesitate to call him back if any further plumbing issues should arise. He will be my go-to guy from here on out. 100% highly recommend.

Now a days, it's VERY difficult to find a plumber that's even interested in doing a small job, let alone for a VERY reasonable price.  Without hesitation, call A & Y Plumbing if that's what you're looking for.  I'm sure they can do the big jobs as well.  I was quoted a very reasonable price and Juan and his team were good on their word.  They were on time, very polite and mannerly, very efficient and did the job just perfectly.  I needed my kitchen faucet tightened, it was very wobbly and also the arm on the faucet was off position.  Now, I see why everyone gives them a 5 Star rating.  I was SO happy with their work and they couldn't be nicer guys!  I highly recommend A & Y Plumbing!

Our water heater stopped working about two weeks ago.  Since that time, we've tried several of the different large plumbing services who were providing large estimates without even looking at my issues.  For me, the very last straw was when I called one of the services I used at the very start of my issues.  The new technician explained to me that the technician that the firm sent out the first time didn't do the work correctly but he (from the same exact company) would fix me right up for an additional $4,000.

It was at this point that I knew I needed to try a very different approach.  I opened Yelp and placed a query for a plumber.  Juan from A&Y plumbing and Sewer Services responded to my query.  Let me just say that if you are a homeowner in need for quality work by someone who not only explains to you what needs to be done but also treats you with respect - this is the  company for you.  I have noticed in previous projects at my home that some of this large plumbing services assume that if you are calling them, you are so desperate to end your problem you will pay any ridiculous cost.  I've owned my home over twenty years.  I have at least a couple of instances where I knew I overpaid for subpar work and I was determined that I would be treated fairly in the effort.  With Juan I felt in my gut that he would be trust worthy because he started out with let me see if this can be fixed and if not, we can discuss other options.  This was In stark contrast to the other service where the gentleman immediately told me, this isn't something you repair, it is something you replace!.  He hadn't even come to my home yet.

In short, Juan was able to fix it.  He then walked me through the process he followed to trouble shoot the issue and correct the problem.  I have an advanced degree in information technology so root cause analysis is something I truly appreciate!  It doesn't mean i expected to walk away knowing how to troubleshoot this issue myself but for someone to just give me the respect of fully explaining what was happening and why we needed to fix/replace things.

For me, during a time when I felt like other services were treating me horribly - it was absolutely refreshing to be treated with kindness and respect. The cherry on the cake was that Juan's cost was reasonable and his work was awesome!  This was one of those times where I very gladly paid his fee and I am already referring him to my friends and family.   This is company is definitely a keeper for me!!

Responded promptly, identified and repaired  the issue with my tenant's water heater and the job was done within 3 hours of my first phone call. I called late in the afternoon and still got same-day service which was helpful because two plumbers cancelled on me and if someone didn't come that day, my tenant would have been without hot water for over 24hrs.

Explained the problem said he would be here later in the day called me back moved his schedule around to accommodate us sooner very much appreciated.  Unclogged the outside connection and showed us everything he did step by step, first time home owners so appreciate the time he took with us. It is hard to find words adequate enough to describe how truly awesome Juan is. I hired him to install a new toilet in my home. I had seen the wonderful reviews about him here on Yelp, and that made my decision much easier. Juan utterly exceeded everything I was anticipating. He was very responsive and communicative. He showed up on time, and even waited patiently outside when I was delayed answering the door. His son was with him, and was such a kind and proficient helper. They both had masks on the entire time they were on and in my property. I had bought this house earlier this year, and the old toilet was an utter mess. It had obviously not been maintained for years, and the wax ring had likely completely deteriorated. Needless to say, it was a very messy removal. However, Juan and his son very carefully removed the toilet, bagged it up, and then took it outside and into my trash bin. They then carefully cleaned the entire surface of the floor underneath the toilet before installing my new one. The installation was not straightforward because the plumbing under the toilet was slightly askew, and also about 1/2 too close to the wall. Juan explained the situation to me, and gave me some options. We came to an agreement, and things went perfectly. He also went above and beyond to ensure that the new wax seal under the new toilet was as tight and leakproof as possible. They also cleaned up another area of my bathroom floor where foam spray had fallen a couple of weeks earlier, and had left some very resistent residue on the floor surface. I was not looking forward to having to try to remove that residue myself, and then lo and behold, Juan and his son just removed it for me. Juan is the type of contractor that you will wish you could hire to do all of the work in your house. He is a true diamond in the rough -- an extraordinary contractor and an extraordinary man. Highest praise possible!

I was having issues with maintaining hot water in my condo unit.  After reaching out to numerous plumbers and receiving a variety of pricing I decided to hold my hopes up in Juan at A&Y Plumbing and I am glad I did.  Juan and his son Andy were couteous and knowledgeable. What i liked about Juan was that he stuck with his original quote even though the job took longer than expected due to piping issues. How often does that happen?  Most contractors I have dealt with in the past always tried to upsell and you end up arguing with them and who needs that stress?  Not me, thats for sure but Juan was so easy going he made the whole process painless.  After job was finished he explained thoroughly exactly what the job entailed.  Another thumbs up for Juan.  So in summation, I Would definitely RECOMMEND A&Y Plumbing services to anyone who wants an easygoing process, knowledgeable employees and work finished beyond compare.  As Juan said before he left.  I want to make sure everything is done right and my customers are my top priority.  No lie there

A&Y was the first to respond to my request for a quote (to replace one toilet and repair another) and gave me what I felt was a good price. Juan and his assistant showed up in less than one hour and performed all necessary work very efficiently and with no surprises. They cleaned up after they were done and I couldn't have asked for more. They are now my go-to plumbing company. Highly recommended.

My basement flooded after a night of rain. Called Juan to come give an estimate and he was at my house within the hour. He was very thorough and knowledgeable and replaced by sump pump right away. I will definitely recommend Juan and will use him for all my plumbing needs.

We began calling multiple companies as we had limited time in Chicago with my 95 year old aunt before heading back to Florida. Juan was quick to respond and come to give us an estimate. We showed him 3 areas on her 90 year old pipes that had leaks and he gave us a price. During the repair he found the leak was way inside the wall. He said he'd try to reach it through an access hole already in the wall but may need to go by the actual tile/tub side. Oh no we thought. He did repair using the access side. Every step of the way he explained what he needed to do. We also threw in a possible kitchen sink and cabinet replacement which he was ready to tackle with his teenage son and my husband but we decided not to do it in the end. He had already cut a hole in the counter top which was perfect and we are holding onto it for future use. His son Eddie, was a great laborer and very polite.
