TLDR; the plumbers at Avant don't seem to know what they're doing and will try to up sell you on services you don't need. Also, don't rely on the reviews here because they called me and offered to refund me 50% for the bad experience and take down my review. (This happened to me and I compromised my journalist integrity and removed my review - they never refunded me. Sorry yelp community)

Backstory:
I called Avant Rooter to come out and do a cctv inspection of my sewer line because I had just finished construction so LADBS required a sewer line inspection. I wanted them to come out and do an inspection before I scheduled the inspector to come out in case there were any issues in my sewer. They were quick to respond and scheduled someone to come out. The first plumber wasn't able to get the camera through to the main sewer line and told me it was due to a blockage and so they had to hydro jet the pipes, so I agreed to this service and paid them for it. The plumber then came out again to run the camera and still couldn't get the camera through and said it was because there might be a crack in the main sewer line which is why the camera is going into the ground instead of through the pipes. This time he tried charging me $397/hr to go digging around my foundation to look for where the issue was which is absolutely insane!

Eventually I called another local plumber to come out. He was able to get the camera through using a string to pull the camera through the area in the pipes where there was a crack. They were able to tell me where I had a crack in my main sewer line instead of digging up everything. I was then able to contact my contractor and get the main line repaired.

I called Avant to come out again to run the CCTV camera along with the inspector because I had already paid Avant for the CCTV inspection that was never completed. The inspector and Avant both arrived to do the inspection and THEY STILL COULDN'T GET THE CCTV camera through! So I had to call and reschedule with the inspector, get my contractor to dig up the sewer line, and then Avant was able to get their camera through and finally we completed the inspection.

All in all, thanks to my local plumber and my contractor I was able to pass inspection. Avant provided the cctv camera.

Had a bad leak in my shower for months. Tried to change the stem and washer several times with no success.  All it took to fix it was advice from MikeE asking if I changed the seat. I was tempted to just have him come down to fix it, but he was very honest saying it was simple and if I could change a stem I could change a seat. I was very surprised that he did not try to sell me on coming over my house to do it and charge a fortune, which at this point I was ready to do after dealing with this problem for months. He was very knowledgeable about plumbing and very friendly to talk to.  I appreciate all his help!! Thank you!!!

The Canadian Handyman helped me out last minute when I was in a jam and no one else would come. I definitely appreciate the fast service and super friendly and helpful nature of this company. I have recommended to all my friends and family and they havent been disappointed! I'm very fortunate to have run across him. Thanks again for your help!

Olson Superior Plumbing resolved a soffit water leak in one of my rental houses by sending me Phil McIntosh.  Phil met my tenant , at the house,  diagnosed the problem, and provided me a reasonable quote and thorough explanation.  All without me being on the scene.  Both tenant and I will be keeping Phil's number close for our next issue.  It's nice to know I dont have to look any further for a plumber.

I needed a Plummer same day and he came right away. Great customer service! Then, he saw each of my problems and solve each one right away. Executed all my issues quickly. Definitely recommend his services.

Great service.  Mick replaced my water heater and gave a great deal.  There was a little bit of miscommunication with the timing, so he even offered to provide a few free services, which we were extremely grateful for.  Seemed pretty honest and will work with you to ensure you're happy with the work.

Albert was amazing- I requested a quote and, within 2 hours, he was here at my door (exactly on time). He snaked the drain in my shower in no time at all and was LOADS cheaper than any other plumbing service I had received a quote from. So awesome!

I had an issue with my toilet and ended up turning the water valve off. After turning it back on, the valve had a small leak so it had to be replaced. I got so many quotes from different places and they were all trying to rip me off. So glad I found Harry on yelp! He had the best and most reasonable price! Finally a honest plumbing company you can depend on. He responds very quickly on yelp and was able to show up the next day. He was so respectful and even took his shoes off before entering without being asked (Asian household). Highly recommend his services!!

Armando's was great! Scheduling was actually pleasant. His wife was very nice  (sorry I forgot her name). She called him and Armando came promptly, as promised, made a quick diagnosis and solved the problem in a flash. His fee was reasonable and he was very courteous. What more can you ask for? 10 stars Armando!

Teddy actually saved me money by replacing parts of the bath doors and sliding doors instead of all of the doors. I needed the same day service and he was able to come same day. He is reliable and responsible. I will use him in the future.

These guys are terrific. They descaled my tankless water heater and showed me how to do it myself next year. They also fixed a couple of other things around the house. Definitely my go to guys for plumbing needs.

We found them on Yelp. We gave them a call and they were available to come in the next morning. When they came they were very nice and explained to us what was wrong with my shower and toilet. Turned out the main sewer running from my bathroom got disconnected some how. You can imagine the mess that was under our home. They told us they would come back in a couple of days so that the soil could dry.  They even took video and showed me the disconnection.  The day Diaz came to fix it Adrian called me to let me know they were on their way. Once they came they fixed the problem in a flash. They really know what their doing.  I would recommend them to my family any time! Thanks Diaz Plumbing for fixing our embarrassing problem :)

Pat is the first honest plumber we've dealt with in this city.  We called Drain-EEZ after having two other plumbers examine our bathtub over the course of four years.  The first ones charged us hundreds of dollars to snake the drain, didn't fix the problem, and told us we had to entirely re-do our condo's plumbing in order to get the tub to drain.  A second plumber offered a similar diagnosis of our non-draining tub, only by his assessment we only had to partially replace the plumbing.  Pat was skeptical of these accounts over the phone, came by with his kinetic water ram and fixed the drainage issue in 5min.  And charged less than either of the other plumbers to do it, by the way.  We've since employed him to replace a leaking faucet as well, with similar great results.  Pat does quality work, won't hesitate to tell you if your idea isn't a good one, and we appreciate his honesty.  And having hired a lot of plumbers, his rates are on-market, but we'd pay a premium for the honesty.

My hot water tank was on the fritz! I called several plumbers with decent ratings here on Yelp, none of which answered. It was either a VM message or someone telling me that they would call back. Then I called Fastplumbing. What a relief. Mack answered and was at my home within 2 hours! He diagnosed the problem and explained every step as I watched him clean and troubleshoot my hot water tank. Long story short, I needed a new tank. The following morning he arrived with a helper, took out my old one and installed a new one within a little over an hour! Done! Eventually I'll need to replace another hot water tank in my building and I will certainly give Mack a call! I would highly recommend Fastplumbing for this type of work! Hands Down!

I called on a Sunday for an issue with my leaky sink, they said they could have someone out within a few hours - impressive!

I was able to wait a day and scheduled a time.  Pete Ismail showed up within that window, identified the problem, and had it fixed in under an hour.  He explained what the problem was and showed me where the leak originated.

He also politely pointed out a safety issue with my garbage disposal that was within a few issues of the leak.  So glad he did!!

He was very professional and knowledgeable and was clearly willing to go the extra mile if need be.  I highly recommend!!

Our toilet flooded in the middle of the night on a Sunday. I didn't want to risk serious water damage, so I did a quick search & found fast response from Discount Plumbing. I requested a quote on yelp and they responded within minutes & they said a technician can come out & gives me a FREE quote with no obligation. They arrived in minutes and my toilet soon was able to flushing like it was brand new! I appreciate them walking in with booties and walking me through the whole process & answering my questions. Definitely took the customer service to another level with that. Plus, the 10% coupon helped..

We've used Scotty for years and absolutely love him.  He is super professional, prompt and great at what he does.

Ultimately drain cleared so going to write this off to initial frustration

Owner has been highly professional

Only major rec. is that workers more diligent in putting down tarps to work on and clean up

Initially the service seem to be a high-quality responsive service

On the first round of repairs things were left messy and unfinished and we had to clean up

on the second visit they double charged us for the exact same process on a sink clog with no results

Our overall cost was in excess of $700 to simply clear out blocked drains

We were told on the second visit for the blocked drain they were bringing a camera and a special rotor

They never did that and the extremely slow process by the was it disappointing and infuriating with items being forgotten trips up and down the elevator nothing brought all at once

We were not given what we were represented as being given and would not recommend this company again
