I discovered this business through Yelp in an emergency situation. Our basement was flooding due to blockage of the sewer/drain pipe. I received a response to my inquiry early in the morning and had an appointment not long after. David and the team determined the probable issue quickly and were able  return to fix it by mid day.  He told me from the start what the cost range would be, depending on whether they needed to unclog from two places or one, so when they need to go to the second option, I already knew the cost and could agree quickly.

I highly recommend this business!

I give them high marks for being thorough, very responsive, had a competitive quote, and I really appreciate the window they promised to arrive in was a 30-minute window, where most plumbers gave a 2-hour window.

I was having an issue with the drain in my utility room. I called Chicago Sewer And Drain and they came out in a very timely manner David. and his partner Listened to what I thought the problem was. They looked at the situation and made the proper suggestions to me. David  told me the fee up  front. They went to work on the problem. I like the way they worked as a team helping each other along the way. The job was completed with efficiency always  keeping me informed along the way. I would highly recommend them. Had a repair done a few weeks ago where the old pipe was corroded. They came out on time and got a tough repair done, as the plumbing hardware is extremely old (100 yr old bldg).

I had a water leak from my basement drain standpipe. I called Chicago Sewer & Drain, and David and his crew responded. After making an assessment I was quoted a price that included televising and water jetting to clear the clog. Unfortunately, the waterjet pump failed. The same crew returned several days later to finish the job. The lads on the team were all professional in explaining the problem and fixing it. I had a flood control in the front yard that was where the clog started I was reminded that only toilet paper is to down the toilet and not all things that are flushable can get past the flood control device.

First time dealing with sink pipes and corrosion.  I found this company on Yelp and I spoke with 4 companies total.  Thomas picked up my call, looked at my photos, and shared his recommendations.  He was transparent, explained the reasoning for his recommendations, and worked with me on my requests.  Same day...David and William came out for the service.  They inspected all of my sink pipes, shared their observations, and worked on what needed to be replaced.  The three gentlemen answered all of my questions.  

I highly recommend this company to anyone who needs a plumbing service.  They were responsive, professional, efficient, patient, and thorough.  I'll be working with Chicago Sewer and Drain Professionals again.  Thank you, David, William, and Thomas!

Thomas was very communicative, he came out to the property to provide a free quote, and he promptly sent the quote pdfs. I was disappointed after talking with another plumber at how Thomas seemed to be trying to up-charge us for repairs and procedures that were not necessary to fix our problem. I don't think I will reach out again to Thomas, despite his good communication, as trust was broken by the amount he was proposing charging.

For potential clients reading this review: A year passing since this quote was sent makes my review all the more relevant. We ended up having the check valve and sump pump replaced for $1300 total. Chicago Sewer & Drain quoted us $1100 for camera/hydrojetting the main sewer line, $1600 for an ejector pump replacement, $1200 for a sump pump replacement, and the check valve replacement would be included with other repairs. We had significant savings with the approach we took (over $2000), and everything works perfectly fine over a year later. This is why I characterized the quotes as upsell.

I was cleaning out pipes under the kitchen sink when I noticed the pipe extending out of the wall was very loose. I cut through the back of the kitchen cabinet to see what was going on and the pipe was not even attached. It had become unattached because it was apparently never installed correctly by a DIY project before we lived here. I called Chicago Sewer and Drain Professionals in the evening and they were able to come out the morning of the next day. JR was very helpful and fixed the issue. We then noticed that the water was not draining very quickly. He ran the pipe snake and found the largest most disgusting clump of hair far down the pipes. All is fixed now and I would definitely recommend this company and we plan to use them again for some plumbing work we have for the future.

Quick to respond via yelp and helped diagnose the issue via chat. Had someone here the next day on time (even a little early). David and his team were here and diagnosed the issue quickly, provided and quote and completed the work in about an hour. Would highly recommend and very knowledgeable!

I found Chicago Sewer And Drain Professionals from a Yelp search. My neighbor had water leaking into her unit, and I needed help identifying what was causing the leak and fast service. I loved this company because they were highly professional and quick to respond. The owner had excellent phone etiquette and answered my call right away. I called around 6 am, and the company came out around 9 am the same day. I wasn't 100% if the company did plumbing in bathrooms because the page is marketing as sewers; however, they did. The company identified that my bathroom faucet needed to be replaced, and they would not find the exact model I already had. The faucet was replaced, and I was delighted with the service.

I'm removing a star because the price was not competitive, and I believe I was overcharged. For the level of service and quick turnaround, the control should demand a competitive price, but I was charged ~$350 for the service and $417 with parts. The company did not overcharge me on the pieces because I went to Home Depot the next day and saw comparable prices. The average cost to replace a faucet in Illinois ranges from $150-$350, and I was charged on the higher end of the estimate. Also, I was told I had two bad water valves, which would be an additional $600. I opted not to change the valves by Chicago Sewer And Drain Professionals and had another plumber come out the next day. The second company informed me that I only needed one value replaced and charged me $50. That is a dramatic price difference. Also, the second plumber told me that he could use the old knobs from my previous faucet so I wouldn't have to change the double faucet to match. I wish  Chicago Sewer And Drain Professionals would have shared that option because I discarded the old parts out.

I would recommend quick, professional service, but be aware  of their pricing model.

David and the crew were great on time and ready.Very good detail explaining my issue, my main line clogged he clean it and made sure the pipe was good to go turn out to be on the city end of the pipe had thick roots.

Another plumber that dropped the ball on getting back to me and organizing the time to go out.  Another plumber who wants to assume work is required without doing the basic problem solving beforehand.

Dan Molina showed up on time.  We took some time to figure out where the leak was coming from. When he cut out a piece of pipe that a previous plumber put some putty on, the water was still leaking. We found that directly above that pipe was the actual leak. He fixed that one and another one near it. He did great work, and has a good attitude. A consummate professional. I would recommend him to anyone, and wouldn't hesitate to use this company again in the future.

We had them come out for hydro-jetting. We have the 1st floor condo in a 3 unit building. The 2 units upstairs have garbage disposals which lead to lots of food buildup in the pipes. We had backup into our kitchen sink (all the smelly food particles sitting in the pipes). I called Chicago Sewer and Drain at 6pm and they came out the next day at 11:30. They jetted out the pipes and had the sink working again. He was also helpful in providing suggestions for how to clean the pipes more regularly so they don't have to come back to hydro jet again. If only the upstairs units would get rid of their garbage disposals...

We had a strange sewer smell coming out of laundry room that kept us up at night. We called Chicago Sewer and Drain and they were amazing. They came over within a few hours of getting in touch and gave us a number of options on how to deal with the smell and fix the problem. They were extremely professional, courteous and knowledgeable. Needed a semi-urgent sump pump repair. The team did an awesome job. Very easy to schedule, came quickly and on-time. After an inspection they gave me an estimate and completed the job the same day. The result looks professional and well-done and the team was courteous, professional and knowledgeable.

Thomas is incredible! When I first called him, he offered me advice on how to unclog the pipe before even sending someone out to me. He said, let me save you money, if you do this and it doesn't work, feel free to call me back. Well I needed his services so after a week, I called him back and he sent his team in THAT DAY. Within 30min my drain problems were gone and it was all because of Thomas and his excellent team.

Thanks fellow Yelpers! This one is a keeper. I needed help quick to resolve a backflow problem in the basement. David, Dan and another guy ( sorry I didn't get his name) came right on time as scheduled and started up their magic to analyze and resolve the immediate problem and identified what will continue with the city. At least I know what's going on and feel educated enough from my crash course w/ these guys to talk to the city. They explained and answered all our questions. I'm happy now, lol.

Dan was fantastic and professional. They gave me an estimate on paper, explained what they meant, came in very competitively priced and were an absolute Breeze to work with. They also gave me a real appointment time, not a window, and showed up right on time.

They then set up an appointment for the next day, and they arrived when they said they were going to arrive. When looking for the source of the leak, David and his partner were thorough. We had water coming through our living room from a second floor bathroom on Saturday afternoon. We called several plumbers who promised to call back and never did. Chicago Sewer and Drain answered the phone and scheduled to have someone come out within a couple of hours. David arrived early, figured out the problem and took care of it. They were very professional and we'll be using them in the future. Highly recommend.

I had water backing up in my basement in Pilsen area and needed help quickly. I put a request on Yelp that sent to 7 different companies and these guys responded under 2 minutes it was crazy fast. David came out the next day and had to trouble shoot a few things because I have an odd setup in my basement. He figured it out fairly quickly after some conversation with his manager and they ended up having to hydrojet my pipes because we use too many flushable wipes. (Ladies and gentlemen learn from us those wipes are NOT flushable. Well they flush they just don't break up as easily as toilet paper) I really appreciated the fact that David took the time to explain that to us. We aren't plumbers and just go about our days. He sees this Sh!+ (pun intended) on a daily basis so to hear what caused the issue has already changed our bad habits. David fixed the issue and even came back the next day with his manager to make sure it was all good for us. I will use Chicago Sewer and Drain Professionals again. Hopefully not too soon but will recommend to family and friends.

Another HuGE note here is I have had plumbing issues in the past because I had a bad contractor so had to have things rechecked and redone the right way. In the past I have always felt bamboozled or swindled by having to purchase something more or felt as though the issue was bigger then it really was and therefore cost more money then originally quoted. I can tell you I didn't feel taken advantage of Infact I felt the price was extremely fair here for how quickly they responded and had my issue rectified.

You want a great plumber? Call Thomas and his team. They are truly the best guys out there.  They will fix any problem you have. They are real professionals that have the latest equipment, experience, manpower. They are respectful of your property. I had a complicated situation with all these obstacles in one of my rentals. Thomas was a hero and I called several plumbers before hiring Thomas. They will get the job done the right way. I promise you that. These guys were great at assessing and solving our problem (mainline clog). They were very thorough and hydrojetted the pipe all the way to the city sewer and showed me the video identifying the problem areas that may need repairs in the future. They spent a few hours working on the job and remained patient and thoughtful all the way through (which is impressive considering the nature of the task). Price ($875) was much better than some other estimates. Highly recommended!

The condo building I live in had a serious sewer backup issue that impacted two garden level units.  We called around to a few places, and Thomas was quick to respond to the initial request.  We spoke one evening, and he was out out the next morning (with a couple of employees) to diagnose and provide solutions for the issue.  We did our due diligence by getting estimates from a few other vendors, but went with Chicago Sewer and Drain Professionals as they provided the most comprehensive fix, with plenty of details on the process.  Thomas was also very patient with the many questions we had.

As the company name says, they really are 'professional'.  Everyone was polite, and focused on their work.  The job was done within the expected timeframe and for the amount quoted. Chicago Sewer and Drain Professionals got the things done for a great price, and I highly recommend them.

Need more details?  Here's an example:  When getting a quote from another plumbing company, I described what Thomas and his team did to diagnose the problem.  The rep for the other company looked at me and said, Oh...they (referring to Chicago Sewer and Drain Professionals) were using some of the best equipment possible.  I don't even have that sort of stuff on my truck.  If that's what they found, then that really is the issue.  It helped our HOA make our decision on who to go with, and we are all very happy with the results.

I had a major blockage in my sewer line, lived in my home for over 25 years and never had an issue until recently - needless to say we had a problem.  Two different plumbers came out and immediately gave us worst case scenarios, neither bothered to rod properly nor use a camera to see what the issue was.  David suggested we start with hydro jetting first to see if the line could be cleared, after 45 minutes the blockage was removed saving us thousands of dollars!
I am so happy I continued my search and found this company. They are honest & I cannot say enough good things about them.

I called Chicago Sewer and Drain Profesional because I had sewer backing up in my basement.  They came out the same day and solve the problem.   Very friendly and professional people.

Yelp is the best. They responded asap and came out a day later. Understood the issue right away and that I wanted Toto parts for the repair. Bought them from the nest place and texted/ called when done. Probably more expensive that the others who responded but I felt confident and it was DONE!

They responded to my message quickly. Once I was ready to make my appointment, it was easy and the time that I requested was available. There was an issue as far as meeting at the time that was selected but sometimes technology fails us and I wont fault them for that. Once the issue was brought to their attention, it was resolved right away. Dan came out and did a great job. He was thorough in his explanation of the issue as well as the solution and got it done it one visit. I would definitely recommend this company but would just suggest confirming your appointment time the day of.

We had an emergency where our pump for our basement toilet stopped working. They responded right away, gave us a quote and came the same day, a Sunday. Truly an amazing company.  I originally called Chicago sewer and Drain for an issue I was having relating to my furnace drain in the wall.  My home warranty company later assigned their own technician, so I cancelled my appointment with Chicago sewer and Drain.  The company selected by my warranty,  didn't do anything so I called Chicago Sewer and Drain back and they were able to come same day.  That was truly amazing.  With in a matter of minutes he was able to diagnosis the issue and give me an upfront transparent price with no hidden hourly rates or fees.  The technician was honest, transparent, and confident.  I also forgot to mention I'm active duty military and this is a rental property, so we were able to complete the entire experience via phone.  He additionally documented his work by allowing me to see the issue via video and to hear the problem.  I've never had any technician go above and beyond like them.  They are trustworthy, honest, fair and I will use them again and highly recommend.

They came out the same day, much faster than they anticipated to take a look at our issue. After assessing and not being able to reproduce it, they recommended we keep an eye on it and not move forward with any additional services unless it happens again. There was no charge for the consultation, and they didn't want to do anything that would cost us a service fee until they were confident it would fix the issue. They seem trustworthy and we will definitely contact them again if we have any future issues!

Very quick and responsive.  Dave took the time to explain everything he was doing and answered all the questions we had.  He made sure he identified the problem and once identified, had a systematic plan of attack to resolve it.  I really liked how he explored all options to fix the issue without having to break open any walls or remove the toilet.  Other companies wanted to break open walls right away.  I definitely recommend working with Dave and will use them for routine maintenance services too!!

We had a nasty problem with our plumbing. Apparently, when the house was built 77 years ago, there was a problem with the pipes underneath our basement floor, which came to a head and caused drainage problems in our basement bathroom. Two different handymen were unable to unclog the pipe, so we called in this company. They were incredibly patient and professional, moving from a simple fix to more complicated, and finally doing the necessary work of digging into the basement floor. Throughout this whole effort, they were extremely courteous, concerned about bringing dirt into the house, and communicated with us regularly about the progress of this project. I highly recommend them. And, they like brownies.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars! First of all, Thomas and his team are the third plumbers we had come out after buying a gut rehab back in 2019. We had flooded MANY times since then. It was a literal nightmare over and over. No one could ever find the issue and fix it once and for all! We would have saved ourselves a lot of pain, money, and heartache if we had found this team first. Finally, NO flooding. Thomas came out the same night I called him, because it was raining and he wanted to see if he could figure it out as it was starting to make puddles in our basement. We did not have an appointment until a few days later, but he called and cared so much about our issue and said I will be there in a half hour. No charge! He then got his crew out there within a few days starting on one of the two problems that NOT ONE other professional figured out. Then after both projects were done, he went over the top to help us once again, by agreeing to fill our concrete that had been dug out due to one of the projects. He felt the concrete companies were charging us too much and they fixed the sidewalk themselves. I promise that I am a very particular customer who had extreme basement flooding and we will never trust anyone else again! This company should be the first place you call if there are any issues at all or you just need an honest plumber.

I will join the chorus of praise for Chicago Sewer and Drain Professionals. All I can say is that I wish I would have called them first! I have a 115-yr-old house that was having horrible sewer gas issues as well as clogged drum traps in several of the bathrooms. The first company I called out blamed the sewer gas on broken traps in the basement floor and I spent a small fortune having those fixed. Then, when the smell kept coming, I called out a different company and they said there was no way to fix my problem without totally cutting out the old underground plumbing and rebuilding all of it (which would have cost a large fortune). Finally, I found Chicago Sewer and Drain based on their positive Yelp reviews. They responded immediately and came out the next day. They diagnosed the problem using a really high-quality scope which found tree roots and other blockage in the main line to the sewer. They cleaned it out using a hydrojet and then fixed the clogged drum traps quickly without causing any damage to them (which is tough). All of this for a very reasonable price! Unfortunately, the smell in the house came back the next day. I called them and they offered to come back out the same day. They scoped the pipes under the house and found that those were also clogged, so they hydrojetted the entire system under the house. To my surprise, they did this for no additional charge! The smell is gone now! Everyone on the crew was also very professional, worked quickly, explained everything, and was careful while in my home (took of shoes, asked me before they moved things, etc.). I will certainly call Chicago Sewer and Drain Professionals whenever I have any plumbing needs in the future.

I set up an appointment with them and they never showed up or called. When I called them 2 hours later asking if they were still coming, they said that the plumber got caught up in another project and wouldn't be able to come until the next day. I had taken the day off work for this appointment and was very disappointed in their disrespect of my time.

Thomas and crew came out on short notice and gave me a very reasonable quote. I had already received two other quotes and went with Thomas. They took care of a sewage backup that day and were kind enough to come back out a few days later to flush one more time. I would definitely use Chicago Sewer and Drain Professionals again and will be recommending them to friends and family.

Thomas is extremely unprofessional! I was calling this company out every 2 to 3 weeks for emergency plumbing services because the floor drain in my business was constantly overflowing with sewage. The plumbers that came out were always pretty helpful but whenever one of them would mention that the issue was in the mainline, I would call the office to follow up only to have Thomas contradict whatever the plumber said and argue with me that people were flushing paper towels down the toilets. The last straw in dealing with him came when Thomas promised that he would send me the video taken by the last plumber after he came back from the field but I didn't hear back from him. When I called a couple of days later to follow up, he blamed me for not calling him back sooner and stated that the video was no longer available and said that I should've asked for it the day of service...which I did! After paying them nearly $2000/mo in emergency service calls, you'd think the customer service would be much better but after having to argue with Thomas multiple times on the phone, I eventually hung up on him after stating I would take my business elsewhere. I do NOT recommend!

Had an outside drain that was clogged and would spill into the house because of it. They came out and were very upfront about what they would need to do and what the potential problem was. They solved my issue while also discovering another potential problem which they clearly showed with their camera equipment. Highly recommend!

Highly recommend. I had an issue with a drain that needed a creative solution. Thomas was the only plumber / contractor that understood my problem and found a way to fix it. He and his crew rerouted a drain from going inside my house to the storm drain. The project involved demo, new pipe, and new concrete. Chicago Sewer and Drain Professionals were amazing! I contacted them via Yelp late at night about a leaking sink. They responded within hours and arranged to come by the next day. When they came they were able to figure out my leaking sink in just a couple of minutes, had the supplies to fix it on hand, and offered to look at another slow draining sink in my bathroom while they waited to make sure the fixed sink was no longer leaking. They also gave me so many great tips on how to handle clogged sinks in the future. I can't recommend them enough! I will definitely call them the next time I need plumbing help.

Thomas and team were prompt and super responsive.  They Hydrojetted two pipes and cleared out all of the sewage.  They also replaced my toilet and did a great job.  Highly recommend!

I had water coming through a light fixture in my bathroom one morning and expected to need my ceiling opened up to repair a pipe. They were super responsive and came exactly on time. They quickly figured out that our upstairs neighbors needed to caulk their shower and answered all of our questions patiently (I had many!) and gave a referral for someone to help with water stains. So friendly and professional!

5 Stars aren't enough stars to award these guys.  Thomas & David came out to inspect and hydrojet our sewage line from our house to the street in Chicago.  We had a TOTAL backup, and sewer water had overflowed into our garden apartment where we take care of a disabled woman.  We were quoted a very fair & competitive price for hydrojetting the line.  Thomas and David realized that our drain and our property were NOT the problem, instead, Thomas clearly showed us how it was a problem with the city's (Chicago) sewer system alone.  He showed us how the sewer elevation had risen due to blockages in multiple areas along the City's streets and alleys.  Thomas said, that sewer line water level is 6-7 feet above normal and knew right away that this was an emergency and I had better start calling the city and my alderman immediately.  In fact, Thomas got on the horn and told the city that we have a serious problem and that crews would need to be dispatched right away.  Then he looked at me and sayed keep calling, don't stop calling ... And that's what I did, I literally called again within 5 minutes, and kept calling to report the severity of the situation to the city and alderman. Thomas pointed out that our flooding was occurring during a period of NO RAIN, and rain was on the way the following night.  So because of Thomas' knowledge 3 city crews were sent out the next morning and they worked all day to drain the entire line 7 feet down, they popped every manhole for two blocks down the line and also found a caved-in manhole who's bricks had fallen and blocked the line.  They also sucked out hundreds of pounds of grease the likes of which the crews said they had never seen.  So what I'm saying is ... that if Thomas and David didn't have the professional technical smarts to ascertain this entire situation we would have had 1 1/2 feet of fecal sewage water in our garden apartment when the rain came and our disabled tenant would have had to be relocated.  Thomas literally saved our garden apartment and the security of our very wonderful tenant, and saved many other lower level garden apartments along the line by knowing his craft and advising me to take immediate action with the city.  I would recommend Thomas and Chicago Sewer And Drain to anyone ... a hundred times over.  Not just skillful, but exceedingly smart and caring.  Bravo Chicago Sewer and Drain Professionals.

Thomas came out to handle a last-minute issue in a rental of mine. He arrived early, was efficient, did the diagnostic work quickly and began work immediately. His price was competitive and overall it was a really good experience, which is very important when one calls an emergency plumber! I will definitely use Chicago Sewer and Drain Professionals again!

Thomas and his crew cleared out our main line for a third of the cost that other plumbers were quoting. Instead of installing a new clean out like other plumbers suggested, he figured out how to clear roots using the catch basin.

What a complete professional, honest, accurate and very reasonable price conscious company! I was frustrated as I had sewer water coming up trough a drain in an apartment that I rent out so I had tenants that were anxious and it was below zero out. The response I got came in less than 2 minutes, they were there and accurately discovered the pipe issue.  Thomas both explained to me and my tenant Matt where the issue was, I got a video of them traveling through the pipe with a camera and 15 still pictures sent to me so I could be aware of the progress and what was happening. Thomas and his crew, fixed the issue, was honest about what could also be another issue, which it wasn't after they completed the job. Showed to another plumber who was very impressed with the video, agreed with the issue and was also very impressed with the price we were told and exactly where the job landed when all was said and done. I'm so happy I found them, can't express enough how complete on all levels our experience was. When done, cleaned everything up too!
