I finally tired of the hard Phoenix water and decided to get a water softener. So, I came to Yelp for some recommendations. I selected American Home Water and Air as one my alternatives for a quote and installation. The sales process was easy -- education focused, no pressure to earn my business that day or to upgrade to a more expensive unit. Plus they came in with a good price!
A few days after I made my decision was installation day. Fidel and Gerardo called to let me know their arrival time so I could drive home from work within the promised installation window. This courtesy meant I had no waiting at home when I had work to do!
The installation service was excellent! They confirmed the location and went to work. They noticed that I had a hose running to my raised-bed garden and added a spigot just before the water softener (next to my garden) at NO charge to shorten the distance from water source to garden! They also added a new spigot at my main water supply for outside soft water. My desert landscape between the water intake and softener was perfectly restored. After the installation, Fidel and Gerardo explained how it works, answered all my questions, gave me some quick tricks and tips for simplified maintenance.
The process of the purchase and installation was not stressful, it was delightful. I am not just satisfied, I am blown away by the customer-focused approach for providing a solution that works!

My AC was on the fritz on the hottest day in AZ so far! Called Mike and he was able to help me get it back on its legs and it works like it never has before! Previously I was being serviced by a big name company who kept wanting me to buy a new unit....which I need, but just didnt have to dish out. I called Johnny's air conditioning on a Sunday afternoon and he answered promptly. I explained my problem, my act was blowing warm air. He told me he could come out Monday morning. About an hour later he called and said he could come by that day. Johnny fixed my problem in about an hour. His prices were very reasonable. He is the kind of guy you know has worked hard his whole life and he knows what he is doing. He won't try to upsell or you tell you need something you don't need. I highly recommend you call him first before calling one of the big guys.

UPDATE: Received an e-mail from Steve Kenyon last night and a call from Chris Hays this morning. Both apologized and conceded that they made substantial pricing error. To be 100% fair, I want to point out that the $300 repair I had done would be equivalent to what Hays would consider a Rescue motor that they feel would be inadequate, but I want to make sure we are apples to apples with what I had done, and they would have been $700ish for the rescue motor, which is in line with what others quoted for an OEM Motor replacement. They also revised their estimate for the OEM motor install (That they feel is necessary and I don't disagree) to $950ish (Still substantially higher than others).
I do appreciate their followup very much and their handling of this has been very professional polite, and they offered to refund my service charge which I appreciate but wasn't expecting, so I'm updating my review from a 1 Star to a 2 Stars

After 30min or so the tech come in and tells me The fan is dead and your unit will need an OEM fan because the Rescue fans we keep in our vans wont work with your unit. On top of that, the compressor overheated and we wont know if it will reset until it cools, so it could need more than just a fan.
I say okay, what are we looking at? He said Our Rescue fans run $700-$750 but since yours needs an OEM fan your probably over $1,000 shocked I ask for a quote so we can talk to our building owner and make a decision. He says sure, no problem. He goes to his van and come back a few minutes later and e-mails me an invoice for the $79 service call and a $1,250 Estimate to JUST swap the fan... If the compressor was bad then that would be a whole other thing. We happily paid him for the $79 service call and told him we will let him know what we want to do about the fan once we speak to the building owner.
After the Hays tech leaves, I call the building owner and she referred me to the guy that has worked on the unit in the past. I call him and let him know what Hays said and he choked at the $1250 and said I'll be out in a little bit, but I suspect I can replace it for you for $400-$500 Tops. He said if you can go up and get me the the fan motor HP Rating, RPM and Shaft size I can grab the correct motor on my way and get you up and running. He did agree that we are still hoping that the compressor survived but that's just the chance we have to take.
I'm a fabricator and a mechanic and a general smart guy so I climb up and get all the info off the motor including the Model and part number. I call the guy that the building owner referred me to give him the info and after getting off the phone I decide out of curiosity to google the Model & Part number...... and holy crap!

I can buy it all day long for under $88. I own an auto parts business and by no means am I expecting to pay internet price to have some one come and replace a fan, but lets be real here.... I would expect to pay $250'ish for the fan motor and $250 TOPS for 30min in labor it will take to swap that fan. This sort of predatory business practice is shameful. I have a call into them about this and before she told me she would have a manager call me she said We guarantee our work WOW that must be some guarantee.

At 8:30am, I got a phone call from one of the rudest people I can remember speaking to. He asked if I had called other places. I said, 'No, I didn't know that I was supposed to.' At that point he got so argumentative with me, and every question he asked he got angrier at my responses. I cancelled the service. No way would I recommend that repairman. Based on the initial phone call, other repair people might be great, so I'm giving it a middle rating, in an attempt at fairness.

Cool Zone is the BEST! Quick response time both in communication and service when needed. I've never had to wait for a tech. They make me feel like the most important person at the time and aim to please. They explain clearly, up front. They answer questions and address any concerns. I've price shopped and find them to be comparable or less expensive than other places but the customer service and integrity is top notch. They do what's best for me and don't try to sell me products or services I don't need, but let me know when I do need something and take the time to show me why. Highly, highly recommend! Don't waste your time or money going elsewhere!

Last night my nine months pregnant wife came home from work to find the HVAC was not blowing cold air. My first thought was oh no, I am going to get shafted. Money is tight given the fact our son is due any day and expenses will be piling up. It is a well known fact that many valley HVAC companies use a system problem in the summer as an excuse to charge outrageous amounts for off-hours repairs. NOT SO with Dukes of Air! I made the call at 6pm and a tech was there by 7pm. Within minutes he had a diagnosis and a cost to fix. The price was fair and included install. We had cold air within the hour and he even hooked up my common wire (needed for wifi on my thermostat) at no additional charge! This company understands what it means to be professionals. I never expected such a wonderful interaction! We will most certainly do business again.

Sometimes the best AC guy is the one you don't end up using. Our AC died the other day, obviously a huge problem if you live in Arizona. We didn't end up working with him, but I was super impressed with his honesty and advice. He made a real effort to get the AC manufacturer to get us a new unit via warranty. In the end, that wasn't successful, but he shared his insight into how much we should pay for a unit and how to proceed. I wouldn't hesitate to reach out if I needed AC help.

Ideal Energy has excellent customer service. I had my air ducts and insulation replaced and that went great. Everyone I worked with was great. The overall cost was pretty pricey but did fall in line with the other estimates I'd received. The only issue I had was after the air ducts and insulation had been replaced, by whole house smelled like gingerbread. They came out to check it out and said everything was fine. I'm not sure where the smell was coming from but I do know it wasn't there before the ducts had been replaced. It's since disappeared though so that's good. Every so often, when the air kicks on, I'll hear crinkling noises coming from the vents but I think that just the new duct work moving. I don't know how well I'll do on my electric bills as it's not peak time yet but time will tell if this was a good investment.

Great responsiveness, the other company I called who said they do Emergency services didn't even respond to me. Thank goodness there are companies that won't leave you hanging when your AC goes out in 105 degree temps!!!!!

Pam in the office said she thought a technician was currently in Scottsdale and asked if she should contact him, I told her that would be appreciated.
As it turned out the technician could be at my house within the hour (my lucky day) to help me out.
As it turned out he determined that my air conditioner was incompatible with the ecobee3lite themastat, so he reinstalled my original thermostat for a modest service fee.
I'm totally happy with their service and personal and will highly recommend them to family and friends.
The communication with the office and the field technician could not have been better or clearer. I'm very satisfied with the service and will be sure to highly recommend them to family and friends.
