We had 2 of our 3 AC units near end-of-life, so shopped around with 5 local A/C companies. True North seemed the most knowledgeable AND the had the lowest quote. I certainly did not view it as cheap price and cheap quality: I'm no A/C expert myself but I felt like we had decent workmanship done.

I won't dock them down to 4 stars for this, but my biggest gripe was the workers left 5-10 cigarette butts in the backyard that we discovered over the following days and week. Ask them nicely to clear up after themselves when they're done!

I've had my AC unit tuned up by a few companies over the years, but none of them has done a more thorough job than Brent with True North! He was on time, professional and extremely knowledgeable. He even managed to troubleshoot a problem I was having with my furnace. Highly recommend and this will be the only company I use going forward.

I did not end up using true North for my bathroom project but I will say that Mike was very responsive in communicating with me about setting up an appointment and honest about the time frame that he could get out to do any work. He was honest about the price that he would charge. I was impressed with his honesty and efficiency in following up with me and would definitely recommend him and will call him for my future HVAC needs.

I'm so glad we called them!

Our AC went out over the weekend and we weren't sure who to call. Our first call to another business left us quite unhappy due to their poor service. Luckily we found True North on Yelp. Based on everyone's review we decided to give them a try and hoped we'll get better treatment with them. Jamie over the phone was really nice and help explained their process. He informed us that they don't charge an extra weekend fee. They managed to send Johnny over to fix our AC sooner than expected (which we love since it's so HOT lol). Johnny was really nice. We appreciate that he allowed us time to decide on what to do, didn't rush us, checked on our warranty for the part, and fixed our AC quickly. The True North team's service is what really impressed us.

We hope we won't have to call on them about our AC unit anytime soon BUT when we need to, we'll be calling them again.

I've used True North several times now for A/C repairs, HVAC and always receive impeccable service. I will never use anyone else!

Mike is driven by integrity, quality workmanship and doing things the right way the first time and that is a very rare commodity these days.

We had Mike back out a few weeks ago to change around some A/C cold air return lines that were poorly designed and inefficient.
Mike brought another tech with him to help with the heavy workload, they removed the old massive 1960 cold air return ducts from a hallway closet and split them into two returns on opposite ends of the house.
As always his work is clean, effective and efficient!

I could not recommend True North more, I've recommended them to friends, co-workers, customers of mine and anyone else that needs any HVAC work done.
They will always be straight forward with you and never recommend you something that you do not need!

We've also used several other contractors for various needs that Mike has recommended to us and they've all been just like him, honest, upfront and high quality workmanship! I trust Mike completely and without any reservations and you will too!

We decided to go with True North because of several reasons . We had 4-6 outfits quote and finally chose True North because of their ability to go through our options and listen to our questions. When installation day came it went so smoothly even as the weather was not helping. They came and completed our installation in a professional and timely manner. My Trane started blowing cold air, so I jumped on Yelp to request quotes for repair. Out of 6 requests, John Michael S. was quick to respond, and had a Tech scheduled the same day! Micah was very pleasant and efficient, & found that the Defroster Board has failed. John kept in constant contact with me on ordering the part, Cary kept me updated on the service , and Brent was very efficient in completing the install! I called this morning Saturday the 2nd of April at 7:00 am and spoke the owner, I Believe his name was Mike (not sure) but he got me scheduled for today to get a technician out to look at my heat pump, which was not blowing out cold air, he said he would have Johnny out at 10:00 today, which was wonderful.
Johnny called a half hour before his arrival at 9:30 telling us he was on his way. Once he got there he diagnosed the cooling problem, which was a motor that blew on the cooling condenser, it was old and Turning slow, he said he had the motor in his van and the price to replace it seemed reasonable, I was very pleased that I got my AC unit fixed so fast and for the great service, it was a pleasant experience, I have found a good company to survive my HVAC issues, owner was good and Johnny was very knowledgeable

True North installed a new AC unit for us. They first provided a competitive quote with helpful suggestions and a detailed breakdown of the work. After accepting the quote, they scheduled the install for 2 weeks later. They arrived on time and completed the project within the estimated time (8-10 hours). There was some minor scuffs on the attic access trim due to the tight access, but otherwise cleaned up well. I am very happy with the overall results. They even rerouted one of our ducts for us to get better airflow in a bedroom that was previously not getting much.

Micah and Jamie showed up for the install and worked quickly, thoroughly, and very professionally. We have 3 dogs that can be obnoxious at times and they were both very accommodating to my needs around the dogs. We even shared dog photos and personal stories. I tried to stay out of their way and they did a fantastic job reducing interference while I continued to work from home. Both Micah and Jamie answered my questions and made sure I was informed during the entire install. 5 star employees all the way!

I would absolutely recommend True North for any AC needs!

I had multiple companies come out to quote me on cancelling out some duct work for a previous swamp cooler that was removed. The 2 techs that showed up actually got in the attic of my vaulted ceilings and gave me an honest assessment, which is more than what the other companies did. Very happy with their work and equally impressed with the service provided. My capacitor went bad overnight on a Saturday/early Sunday.

After requesting them to come out early Sunday, they showed up an hour sooner than expected, (Did I mention it's Sunday?) which is a great thing when the AC isn't working and you've got 2 small children at home.

I'll be keeping them as a service provider for sure!

I had True North do some Air Conditioning work for me last year and although he could not completely fix the problem (as the system was beyond repair), he was fair with me. Because of that, I trusted him to install a new A/C system. His price to install a brand new system was once again fair and blew away some of the bigger name competition (beware not to pay for a company's TV advertising budget). Short version: Friendly, professional and straight-forward. They quoted us a no-pressure very reasonable price for AC replacement. Highly recommend!

Long version:
Our AC stopped blowing cold air on a Saturday night (because of course it had to give out on a weekend). This was the only company (I had reached out to several claiming to be 24-7 response) not only to actually reply the same day but make time on their Sunday to take a look. That alone is fantastic service!

As we knew from a fix last year the unit was on its last legs, we made the decision to replace the unit entirely (with absolutely no pressure from True North as they could technically fix the Freon leak we had). For a replacement, they quoted us below the price we were quoted by another company the year prior. Additionally they provided us a portable AC to use so my husband could stay home with our pups.

The install process was smooth and quick. The technician and owner both friendly and professional. We had a rain delay and they did their best to adjust accordingly (cranes are tricky to schedule in monsoon season!). We are very happy in our much cooler home thanks to True North

Had an issue with my 20 year old AC at 10pm on a Friday night. Mike immediately responded to my request and had his service tech - Johnny the following morning. The AC had a leak which was temporarily repaired. We decided it was time to replace the entire system. Worked with Johnny on scheduling the installation and he immediately responded to every text! We ended up having the unit installed on a Saturday... unheard of in my past experiences! Mike sent out Mica and and another gentleman (forgot his name) had a dark beard and very professional! These 2 guys worked the entire day with no complaints or excuses. Had a brand new TRANE AC system installed and running by 3:30pm! The job site was clean and organized throughout the day. I thought for sure that I'd find debris or a even wire nut laying around somewhere - but couldn't.

I can not be more pleased with how quick and efficient this company is. My air went out at the worst possible time, Sunday, July 4th at 11:00pm. Not being from AZ, single, and having trust issues with people trying to get over on me with fees, I called my prior supervisor. He gave me the name of this company and told me to ask for Johnny. This guy works quick and he had no problem with me hovering over him and asking questions especially since my home is only 4 years old.

Needless to say, I am currently sitting in a cool house, my bill was surprisingly affordable compared to the horror stories I've heard about and watched on YouTube and I knew that I needed to write this review.

If you are looking for a trustworthy, knowledgeable, quick, efficient, and friendly AC company, please look no further. Try Johnny, you will not regret it.

Word to the wise, let them at least service your AC unit. Take it from me, it's not good when your AC goes out in AZ in the middle of the night and it's 103 outside.

I am so very glad that I called Mike at True North Air Conditioning when we need to replace our 26-year old AC. Out of all the companies that came out to quote, Mike stood out for his knowledge and patience as I plied him with many questions. He offered solutions without pressure or bias, simply as information.

I've waited 5 months to write this review. In that time the AC has been running perfectly and Mike's solution to our hot room problem is working better than expected! The one time we had a small hiccup with the AC somebody was here the same day to fix it.

Quality work, competitive price, decent bloke. Cannot ask for more, like I said, so happy I chose True North. Customer for life.

I called around 8:30pm regarding AC unit fan not turning. A repair technician arrived at 09:30pm and after quick troubleshooting, it was identified as bad capacitor. They have spare available in the truck and the repair was completed within 30 minutes. Kudos to Jamie for coordinating repair technician for after hours repair. Johnny completed the repair in a very timely manner. Great price considering after hours service and the fact they arrived within an hour is extremely awesome. Definitely recommended True North for AC repair. I will use them again for sure.

Very happy with the service we received from Mike at True North. Had an issue with our AC that was diagnosed by another company but sent a few requests for quotes out via Yelp. Mike responded extremely quickly with a quote that was 50% less than the original one I was given and offered to come out same day to take a look. Once he confirmed the original diagnosis, he replaced the part quickly, with the whole visit being under an hour from arrival to departure. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he wore his mask during direct interactions with me and kept appropriate distance which I appreciated.

The next day, I received a voicemail asking if everything was running properly and letting me know he tried to get a warranty replacement claim on the part but that it wasn't eligible. We had discussed this before he left and I mentioned that I had already been told that it was no longer eligible, but he said he would try to get it taken care of anyway. It's a small thing, but he could easily have dusted his hands of it and I wouldn't have known any better. For him to go the extra mile is practically unheard of nowadays and I think it should be commended. My AC is working flawlessly and I'll definitely be using True North in the future and recommending them to anybody who needs some work done.

Our A/C went out while it was still hot, so it wasn't ideal timing. I called a few places to get some quotes and decided to go with True North based on their great reviews and their competitive pricing. Mike (the owner) was a pleasure to work with and was able to get us on the schedule in two days! Our installers, Ronnie, Drake and Micah were polite, knowledgeable and did a great job cleaning up after themselves. Our new system is up and running and we are very satisfied with the results. No more hot spots in the house and it's so much quieter. Mike did all the paperwork for us for the SRP credit and the trane warranty. Will definitely be using them for service as well. Beyond impressed with True North. We were having issues with one of our units. (It wasn't working well and making a lot of noise, think generator loud.) Sure enough, we needed a new split AC unit.

These guys provided seamless communication from the tuneup, quote and scheduled installation. It was a big job and Mike, Johnny and Bill were so awesome.

Now our downstairs is amazingly cool and we have peace and quiet in the back yard with the units running perfectly!

Mike, the owner, is great. Honest quote on replacement TRANE AC syste. Showed up as scheduled, completed removal of old system and installed new TRANE in one day, 8 AM done at 5 PM. No surprises.

I was without air conditioning downstairs, I called first thing Monday morning and the owner answered the phone immediately. After I scheduled the appointment I decided I should have the two units yearly maintenance done at the same time if possible - and sure enough they made time to add that service too!
The owner was friendly and was able to squeeze me in with his Technician Johnny. Johnny was on time, friendly and fixed the problem first try. Did the Maintenance on both units in no time . All told I was thrilled I tried them and they were EXTREMELY affordable. I will definitely be calling them for all of my repairs for my air conditioning and heating unit in the future. I loved their honesty and integrity.

We hired True North mainly because Mike was very prompt to respond to all my questions, very transparent, accommodating and included other additional parts and services that other companies do not include in the purchase and install of a new unit. He did all the work by himself in record time; I was right behind him the entire time and I saw that he is very knowledgeable, meticulous, clean and takes pride in his work; everything he did was done with precision and perfection and he never tried to cut corners.
We ended up purchasing a better unit than the other competitors offered for about the same price and he made it easy for us to make a decision once he explained everything to us.
To anybody out there looking to buy a new ac unit, I already did all my research with other companies; if you have a hard time getting a response back from them, how long is it going to take them to come to your house and help you with your needs; so don't waste your time and call True North and ask to talk to Mike; with other companies you will pay about the same for a lower rated unit and you will have to wait until they let you know when they will be able to do the job, which it was not our case; he sent me a quote on a Friday and he told me he could do it on Monday, I talked to him and we changed our minds, so we decided on another unit instead and he still did the job on the promised date. No way I can get the same service and ac unit for the same price with other companies.

After using multiple large companies and a few small ones, I put a request on Yelp and these guys seemed to be the most honest, giving me a price for service and promising no cheesy upsells. They came out within a couple of days to complete yearly maintenance on my units and showed up within the time frame promised, and we're very courteous. The technician was professional and told me everything was running great, cleaned my units and left everything better than how it was found.

I will be using True North from now on and recommending them to all of my friends and colleagues in the industry. Great company to work with and very fairly priced without all the updelling of service and yearly plans!

My 25 year old Trane split unit finally went out. That's a pretty good run! I received several quotes from different HVAC installers and went with True North for three main reasons 1. Mike was very knowledgeable and helpful on the phone and the guy who came out to perform the quote was the same caliber knowledgeable and helpful. 2. The price didn't automatically assume financing. Every other quote came in a lot more money because they all had built in finance charges. When I asked about it, the competitors were quick to point out the price I was quoted was a financed out the door price and it would be cheaper if I didn't finance, but none were forthcoming about that and none offered up a non-finance quote without expressly asking about it, except for True North. True North uses a third party loan system called Hearth and that was super easy to navigate and get financing that ended up being about third of what the competitors were automatically building into their quotes. 3. True North was the only company to realize I had a brand new Ecobee thermostat and gave me the option to keep that and not tack another $300 on to the quote for a not as cool thermostat.

On the install day, the crew was on-time, super respectful, and Isaac seemed a genuinely good and funny dude! My system works great now and the install job looks clean. I highly recommend these guys to walk you through one of the scarier things you'll go through as a home owner!

Mike and his crew were awesome! Mike was super prompt, coming out for a quote next day and squeezing us in on a Monday holiday the following week to install our mini split. We got four quotes total for this project and Mike's was not only the best price but also provided the best electrical solution without requiring a separate electrician (as we were told we needed by others). True North really saved us. During the awful heat spell this summer our air conditioner, at our rental home, died - and on a Friday no less! Everyone we spoke to said HVAC Contractors were months out before they would be able to help us. Although True North was booked out for months they made an opening to take care of us. We decided to have the total HVAC replaced because of the age of the units. True North was able to procure a new system and had it up and running by Monday afternoon. Mike was very honest, he worked hard, carefully, and quickly. He came into the middle of a project that another company botched and he was able to assess the situation, guide me on the best steps moving forward, and execute the work in a timely manner since I was working on a tight clock due to the damage I had. The work was started and finished much faster than I thought it would be given the size of the project, and my house has been feeling great ever since. He even cleaned up after!! Our air conditioning stopped working on a Sunday night a 5 o'clock, of course. Called True North and our call was answered by a live person who was empathetic and helpful. They said they could have a tech out in the next couple of hours to check things out. The tech showed up early was knowledgeable and efficient. Found out it was only a blown fuse. he fixed it and was on his way within 30 minutes. we have cool air again. Highly recommend.

Highly recommend. I knew I had either a bad capacitor or fan motor. I called other companies to get a ball park price and they wouldn't give me one. I spoke to mike on the phone and he gave me price ranges on different scenarios. They sent a tech (Johnny) to fix the problem. They installed a brand new motor in no time.
The price was way cheaper than i anticipated. Glad I called these guys instead of some large expensive ac company.

Mike is awesome! We were in the process of remodeling a home to put on the market and the AC went out. He got out there quickly, diagnosed and fixed the problem. His rates were very reasonable. Within a couple of days, the AC went out again. He immediately went out to check on it and found the workers at the house had accidentally flipped a switch. He was so kind and understanding about the mistake. We ended up getting an offer on the house and the buyers had some questions about the AC. Mike was so gracious, he was willing to provide additional information to satisfy the buyers. Such a nice guy, awesome company! Would recommend them to anyone!

Labor day and the A/C is out at 4:30 in the morning!!! What do you do? Well, you scroll through Yelp looking for a local repair team that will help you with the heat as it continues to rise since the sun is now up. 5 calls placed and only 1 guy called me back. That was Mike! Mike is a family guy and he said that had several calls already scheduled but would get me in today! Johnny called me 45 min ahead of time as promised, to let me know he was on his way. He showed up with a mask and was respectful and professional. My A/C issue was diagnosed and fixed at a reasonable price and I was back to cooling the house down to a balmy 77 in no time. If you didn't catch it before.... they did this on Labor day and no other company called me back. Nice work gents and a huge thank you from the Rice Family! Customers for life!

True North Air has been wonderful! Got home from work and could smell a plastic burning. Called them and they were there within 2 hours! John was there with a mask on and very polite! Unfortunately it was a motor that was out and still under warranty so we had to wait until the next day to get it approved. He had the part and was willing to do it that night (almost 10:00 PM). The next morning he was at the house early getting info to make calls and get it approved. HIGHLY recommend them!!

I contacted this company by phone after experiencing problems with a brand new unit that was installed by another company. It was a very complicated situation in which I had been told the manufacturer was replacing the unit. That never happened and after about 5 months I found True North Air Conditioning reviews on Yelp and Google and called. Mike (owner of True North) let me fully explain the situation on a weekend day (can't remember if it was Saturday or Sunday). I had actually called several companies that day and the calls just went to voicemail. Mike set an appointment to come see my unit found a leak and repaired it. A situation that I wrestled with for months was handled in just a few hours. I expected to pay 4 times what Mike charged me and he was more than fair. Mike has repeatedly followed up with me every 2 weeks or so to make sure everything is still satisfactory. I absolutely recommend True North Air Conditioning.

Had AC problems and had another company come over to diagnose and the told me the compressor died and it was time to replace my 20 years unit. I decided to ask for a bid through Yelp. John from True North was very prompt with a very competitive quote. 2 of my Air conditioning units on my house stopped working during the hottest time last summer. I had so many other air conditioning companies out. My issue was my thermostat power source was shutoff from condensate safety switch. The primary line backed up and this us due to another HVAC company botched job two weeks ago. We are planning on redoing the ducting in our home in order for a remodel. The owner (Michael) came over to give me an estimate to remove the metal ducting in the ceiling that causes the ceiling to be less than 7 ft high in some areas of the house. Michael was on time, gave me an accurate time that he would be here (called 30 mins before) and was very professional and personable. My project will not take place until October 2020, so we are just planning it now. There is also a challenge in the remodel where the current returns go underground. The shelves above those returns are not used and we want to open up that area as floor space. Michael came up with a great idea to relocate the blower/furnace from the current storage area off the patio to the attic which would allow us to abandon the return and place that ducting in the attic. I have not yet received all the quotes yet, but True Norths estimate came in at a very fair price. I would recommend this company so far.
