I was very pleased with Caliber Roofing Services. I had my roof replaced by them. From the start the process was clear prompt and responsive. Manuel, my first point of contact, was patient and kind. He went through the details of my quote with detail and integrity. The entire project went smoothly, on time and with no surprises. Tanner, the project manager, was also very nice and made sure he kept me updated on the progress of my roof. I'm happy I chose this company for my roof replacement.

Had 21 panels put on our roof a year ago. Out of pocket costs = $15k.
Saved $1600 over the previous year APS bill, and we didn't own electric cars in 2013 (But bought 2 in 2014, as there was so much excess production during the day that we now don't have to pay for fuel for our daily driving). The system will pay for itself in about 9 years (assuming power rates don't go up ((HA!)), and not even counting the fuel savings), and it will continue to produce power for more than 20 years. Plus, because the solar panels are raised off the roof, the attic doesn't get nearly as hot, making the indoor temps much cooler in the summer.
I don't know what a ton of carbon dioxide looks like, but I know EXACTLY what $1600 looks like (and what I can do with the savings every year).

Mr. sunshine was responsive and informative when it comes to Arizona solar. He is friendly and easy to converse with and very knowledgeable. He came to our house to survey the structure and understand our energy goals.
Tim (the engineering guy on the team) provided information about generation and connections to the grid and was very informative about getting solar installed along with flexible scheduling.
I had some scheduling issues that will delay the installation, and this awesome company understood the situation that will delay my project and will be there when I can resume my project.
While doing research on Arizona solar energy, I found there are any number of ways to have solar panels installed on your home, not all are great. I was concerned about solar projects that were pitched which did not seem financially plausible. However you do solar in Arizona, use this company!

Just had General Solar out to redo my pool solar. My old system was at the end of its useful life and was getting to be a headache to maintain.
Kent and Steve were very patient with me explaining the benefits of their product and what I could expect performance wise from a solar heater for my pool.
They showed up on time and worked diligently to get everything hooked up.
Could not be happier! Highly recommend

Have worked with these guys to get solar for my home. Very professional and very knowledgeable. They also gave me a lower price than the other company that came and showed me what they had. They gave me a low 2.99 interest rate on my solar. I will recommend them to any and all my friends and family.

Solar City is the best solar company we used. They were incredible from start to finish. They have a great team of professionals that are knowledgeable and friendly. From the first contact to the final installation, Solar City was there with us every step of the way. They answered all of our questions and walked us through the entire process. We are extremely satisfied with the outcome and highly recommend Solar City to anyone interested in going solar.

We purchased (vs leased) a fairly large 14.28kW system (51 x 280Watt panels) installed by Argent Solar in the summer of 2015. We shopped around a LOT, comparing purchase vs lease, installers, panel manufacturers and configuration options (normal string inverters vs the power optimizers). Argent was up front with us (our rep was Charlie, but he might be retired by now), well-priced and timely in everything they did. No problems getting it approved by APS & turned on. Our power production this last 3.5 years has been exactly as forecasted (clouds are the biggest variable, but that averages out over time).
We've been very happy with Argent.
While I know the up-front cost to own your system is scary or undoable for most, it is really the better option in the long run if you can swing it. If you do lease, make sure to read the fine print. For example, a lease installation by SolarCity would have saved $ up front, but the price we paid for electricity from the solar panels was automatically going to increase by 3.5% per year. That's insane! You go solar to get AWAY from price increases! 3.5%/year over the 20-year lease means you're paying almost DOUBLE by the end. In countries like Germany that have pushed solar & wind power very hard, the cost of electricity has dropped dramatically, and likely that will happen here, too, once we get enough adoption here down the road. You don't want to be paying a ton MORE down the road while everyone else is paying LESS. Neither will people potentially buying your house when you move. Most leases are a 20-year commitment, regardless of the owner. The wrong solar lease is a liability, not an asset.
We ended up getting panels that had black metal edges instead of silver/aluminum, so the panels are black-on-black, which looks very sharp! I did a lot of research on panel manufacturers, to include calling a guy I know in CA that runs a solar install company and settled on SolarWorld panels. There are plenty of other great options (LG, Sunpower, Kyocera) but SolarWorld had the best cost at the time and we wanted to make sure to stay away from cheap Chinese makes for peace of mind.
We also went with SolarEdge power optimizers & inverter rather than the more normal string inverters. It's a little more cost up front, but having a power optimizer at each solar panel means each panel will produce as much as it can. Despite being the exact same panel, the power rating is a minimum, as slight manufacturing differences can enable some panels to produce several % higher. (Looking at my current totals for the week, my best panel has produced 8.42kWh (kiloWatt hours) and my worst panel only 7.80kWh. That's almost an 8% difference between best & worst. The average difference is probably 3-4%.) For a normal string inverter setup, a bunch of panels are all connected to the same inverter and all panels are limited by the worst performer on the string, so you'd never get that extra production. If you have a shadow from a tree or something on your panels part of the day, then the panels in the shade are going to limit your production over all. Is it enough of a difference to make up for the extra cost? I don't know, probably. If you have a shade problem, though, I think it DEFINTELY would.
Several of the SolarEdge power optimizers have gone bad during the last 3.5 years. I'm not sure if I got a bad lot or what. You have a graphic depiction of your system to monitor via a web page, though, so as soon as you see a "black hole" in your system, you just call your installer and they replace it free of charge. Those power optimizers come with a 20-year warranty, so SolarEdge ships a replacement part and pays the install charge. Argent Solar has been great for this, replacing the part within a couple days usually, as they have replacement parts on hand already.
Anyway, I've been thrilled with our setup. When I first ran the numbers, the payback was going to take just short of 8 years (including the state & federal rebates). Then APS put through not one, but two, price increases of nearly 8% each, so that shortened my payback period closer to 7 years (due to the extra cost of electricity that I'm NOT paying). And when you think that the value of my house has surely increased (due to owning the system; not true for a leased system), there's a good chance the system has already completely paid for itself at just 3.5 years. Your numbers will be different, maybe better or worse, but probably an excellent investment if you're going to stay in your house for even just a few years.

The field sales rep Caden is friendly enough, but there are some opportunities that are present they need to work on. First, keep your appointment times. We had 3 different promised times of arrival in one day. And don't blame this on COVID....COVID ain't got anything to do with punctuality. I have yet to be delayed going anywhere myself due to "covid." 'Sorry I'm late to the party bro; this pandemic just got me moving slow,' said no one, ever. Second, clean up your mess when you're finished. I get that blown insulation is a bit messy, but for gods sake don't use a leaf blower to clean up the jobsite. There was literally insulation dust everydamn where in the garage, all over my vehicle, my tools, the freaking mini fridge after their install crew left---because they used a leaf blower. Bottom line, USE A VACUUM.
Other than that, I suppose the new insulation is making a change to the heat rejection, but it IS November-ish now, so there's that.

Everyone at Harmon, from sales to our Project Manager to the installation crew have been professional, accessible and genuinely nice to talk to. They have instilled confidence that all of the details were being kept track of every step of the way. Even the permitting applications (APS and City of Phx) were taken care of, then communicated to us upon their acceptance.
If you are considering Solar for your home, you owe it to yourself to talk to the good people at Harmon Solar.

This is an update review. I have had solar panels from Solar City since 2011.
On August 8, 2013 I noticed that my SolarGuard was going down and not reporting electricity being generated mid-day many times a week. The sun was shining, no clouds were overhead. Also, my graph started to look really odd, so odd that I thought they had changed the software. -Basically, all of my bars were all the same height, and low. I no longer saw a bell curve as the daily report of my output. And, my reported output was lower than usual, about 10kWh less a day.
I sent an email in to customer service and got a canned reply that the reporting wasn't always accurate due to software glitches and data transmission issues. But, they assured me that my output was going to the power company just fine and the graph was in error. They also offered to help me read and understand the graph, as if I were a child.
I sent several more emails regarding the mid-day gaps in output as they were still happening (3-4 times a week) months later. I was also wondering why my output total in December, when APS does an annual bill that clears banked hours, was so much less than the prior year. -Going in to August I had banked more hours than the year before.
Finally, on March 12, 2014 (seven months later) a technician called me and had me read the inverter, reboot the inverter several times and check a few other things. He made an appointment for a visit on the 14th, where it was discovered that my inverter was faulty. It was shutting down and/or rebooting once energy input to it hit certain numbers. This was why there was no production at mid-day, the inverter was turning itself off. This was also why my online chart was so flat, when the input hit a lower than mid-day number it would re-boot itself.
So, it was very clear that I had lost a lot of output over a seven month period. And, while I had notified SC about the problem on several occasions, customer service did not pass my reports on to tech support; they chose to treat me like a child who wasn't understanding that there could be glitches in internet reporting of data.
I emailed support to complain about the way I was treated, and about the loss of over 200kWh a month for seven months. Here is the entire email reply:
"Dear Bob,
Thank you for your email. This is Terri, with SolarCity Customer Account Management. I hope that you are having a wonderful day.
I'm happy to hear that we were able to get this resolved for you. If there's anything else we can assist you with, please don't hesitate to reply to this email for further assistance. Thank you and have a good day!"
No apology, no admission of anything wrong on their end, and no addressing the issue of my lost kWh = dollars.
I sent another email pointing out that there is clearly a serious problem with how customer service people handle tech support issues and how I had been repeatedly ignored when I had a real and serious problem with my system. And that problem had continued for seven months. I also pointed out that it was fairly annoying for them to tell me how happy they were about it all.
Here is the final response:
"Hi Bob, this is Terri again. Thank you for your patience and replying back.
First off, let me apologize for not immediately addressing the inverter issue that had just recently been resolved. I definitely should have, as I can only imagine that it was a very frustrating situation. More than anything, I was genuinely happy that the problem had been resolved for you.
In regards to the lost production during the time your inverter was not producing, that would be covered by our performance guarantee. We guarantee that your system will produce a certain amount annually, and if it falls short, we will compensate you for that. So, if your inverter not producing for that time period causes your system to not produce what we guaranteed, we will send you a refund check for the difference.
If there's anything else we can assist with, please don't hesitate to reply to this email."
So, in the end, I lost a chunk of cash. I got treated like a child for seven months for reporting a real and serious problem. Their customer service won't be trained to respond appropriately (by calling a service tech) to this issue in the future. They won't admit that there is a HUGE gap in communication between customer service and the technicians who work on the equipment. They also won't admit that seven months is a ridiculously long time to wait for a service call to get looked at then fixed.
I was unhappy for seven months while my equipment was faulty and underperforming by 30%. It was nice to have it finally fixed, but, nobody bothered to apologize until after my second complaint, and it's not a very good apology. The company shows no understanding of what went wrong, and has made no effort to fix the system that led to me being brushed off for seven months.
BEWARE: Tech support may take seven months to respond to tickets!

I installed Solar Panel from Sunrun through Costco. Sunrun lied to me to receive my contract, the majorities Solar Panels Sunrun installed did not work since they installed it, Sunrun hide information (the reason the panel they installed did not work properly). I bought large size of Solar Panel over $40,000 plus interest rate and refinance cost which I paid over $50, 000. About 10-11 of Solar Panels did not work since installation. I paid electric bill over 10,000. I tried to communicate with Sunrun customer service and they offered me only 2000 and repair the panels. Unfortunately, Sunrun customer service is trying to ignore and dismissed my request for taking full responsibility for all damages caused to me.
Do not trust Sunrun and Costco. I only hired Sunrun because I trusted Costco. They are unethical companies and they are trying take advance of customers. They took my money and Sunrun caused me financial and emotional damages.
I filed complaint against Sunrun and Costco with Sate Licensing Agency, State Attorney General Office, Better Business Bureau and Complain to the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA).
I am going to provide bad review against Sunrun and Costco in Yelp, Google Review, Solar Reviews and others.
My next steps would be to contact my local government and local media regarding Sunrun and Costco.
