Another positive review. Looks like these guys went out of business. Another contractor was checking our house foundation and while under house showed us all the pipes Avant Rooter replaced. Turns out they delivered flawlessly. We'll miss these guys for sure. We called upon them countless times.

I rarely give negative reviews, and always give people and businesses the benefit of the doubt and second and third chances. However after the 4th scheduled appointment, and a 4th no show, with 3 of the no-shows not even calling or communicating in anyway to let us know they weren't going to make it, I can't recommendation this business to anyone looking for a reliable company.  Surprising and disrespectful of our time to not even call or text us to let us know they won't show up within the 2 hour arrival window. 4 cancellations means having us on the hook for 8 hours of time. No follow up call, apology, offer for re-scheduling, or anything to make things right.

In addition, the garbage disposal that is having issues was installed and the job was completed by them a few years back.

I rarely give reviews but when I do it's either due to good or very poor service. In this case, it's because of the good service I got from Kevin R.

He did a wonderful job fixing my leaky pipe. Kevin was very nice, friendly and patient with answering all of my questions. He handled my complaining neighbors with grace and kindness. He is definitely a great asset to this company and deserves a raise.

I have had one of the worst vendor experiences of my entire life with Avant Rooter, and do not recommend their services for any plumbing project.

First we had a lot of scheduling issues for booking an initial consult to come to our house to replace our water heater.

After booking them to install the tankless water heater, The technician who came to give us our initial estimate ghosted us and we then I had to call the company to backtrack and find out what was going on as we had already paid our deposit and had not heard from them for several weeks. The initial technician had medical issues so we understood and tried again. BIG MISTAKE.

When the new supervisor came on site, he was an hour late and the agreed-upon price was not honored. He was rude, disrespectful and i asked them to leave our home immediately after meeting them.

I then asked for a reimbursement of our initial deposit since the services were never rendered, and it took them several weeks to even cut the check. And i offered to go pick it up but they ended up delivering it in person to our home.

I checked our bank account today and it said that the check bounced as there was insufficient funds from the vendor to pay us the check that they issued.

I have no idea what's going on as they have not contacted me back after several attempts, so I am proceeding with filing a FRAUD CLAIM with my bank with Avant Rooter. They then reached out and sent us money through Chase Zelle payment to reimburse us our deposit.

This vendor is unreliable, not trustworthy and just don't want anyone else to be scammed who is working on improvements to their home.

Avant was the first to reply with not just a quote but a window within 24 hours that a tech could be on-site to see what issue our reverse osmosis system was having. The technician was so professional, friendly and sweet with our dog. He not only fixed our RO tank issue but he explained very plainly what the problem was and how we can avoid it in the future. Solid work, fair price. We'll def be calling them again if we have any plumbing issues.

I didn't know plumbing was such a craft until Avant Rooter entered my life. They approach plumbing with the same savvy, skill, and grit an NFL linebacker approaches football. I live in an old house (100 years old) back in a time where houses didn't have their plumbing. This is a big issue, because you can't fix your problems when the pipes run other people's properties. These guys figured it all out. They got some magic powered wand to find out where the pipes when underground (I had no idea), were able to organize the neighbors and explain what had to happen. And most importantly, they fixed a 50 year problem (replacing shared pipes that run under numerous people's properties isnt a reality) at a great price, and in a 3 day turn around.

Plumbing ain't easy and it ain't pretty, but these guys are the best in town.

I previously wrote a negative review about Avant Rooter. I now wish to revise my review. I was angry that I was given a written estimate for one price and was given another price when the plumber arrived at my home. After I expressed my displeasure with what had transpired, I received a call from the Office Manager, Gene.  Gene asked me what I wanted to have done. I told him I wanted him to honor the written estimate. He said he would.

A plumber by the name of Ivar arrived at my home today. He was courteous, efficient, and  made clear that the original price would be honored. He finished the job in about 15 minutes and willingly accepted my check for the agreed upon price.

This is the best company for plumbing service.  I called them up because I had a problem with my drain line. They responded quickly.
My technician Walter Alas was AWESOME!  He ran the snake like 100ft down the sewer line and got rid of my clogged issue. I later had another issue with the plumbing in the sink. We called Avant Rooter, then Walter came back to the rescue.  I  liked that he was friendly,  professional,  fast, and knowledgeable.
I would definitely recommend him to everyone.

Their technician came to my house and gave an estimate. Two weeks later my wife called them to confirm about installing the water filtration system service, the technician changed the quote from $150 to $800-1,000. He also missed the first schedule appointment with us. Such a terrible business.

We had Avant Rooter come out to our house to Hydro Jet the main and secondary lines. They did a great job from scheduling with us and the actual work.
The technician that came to our house was Evan. He was friendly, explained everything he was doing, and answered all our questions. He went out of his way to show me the camera feed on their screen of our pipes and all the work he did. Would recommend them to anyone who needs to get Hydro Jetting done.

It's the 15th week. Here's a picture of the toilet Avant installed  but doesn't work. They did get one shower working. Now just 2 toilets and 1 shower to go.

I would not hire this plumber again. *They are very disorganized. *Many workers would show up some days with a single set of tools. *They did not put plastic over the furniture or even close doors between rooms, so the entire house is covered with drywall dust. *They left multiple old pipes under the house. *The workers seem unhappy with each other and the company.

I was told the job would be finished in a few days, it's now 14+ weeks after I gave them a deposit and several additional payments.

Juan and Raul were very knowledgeable and explained exactly what the descaling process was for my tankless water heater. They also worked on our gas leak involving our high-end stove. Juan explained exactly where the leak was and how he was going to fix the issue. We are very happy with their professionalism, quality of work, and they both went out of their way to assure we were satisfied with their work. I would recommend both Juan and Raul at Avant to anyone who needs a licensed and professional plumber!

Ivar knows what he's doing, and is honest about the work. Only downside is that they are so busy, that sometimes it's hard to get a hold of them. Ivar and Pedro showed up on time, assessed our multiple situations, and gave us a recommendation. He gave us the option of providing our own valves and shower trim, as he thought we might be able to get it for less than what it would cost through them. He wanted us to send him a link to what we were thinking of ordering, to make sure that it would fit the situation. The first proposal that we sent was not approved, and Ivar explained why. The second proposal was a go. We got a contract and a date. They showed up on time, and worked diligently through the day, trying to minimize the time that the water to our condostack was shut off.  

Main project was replacing two-handled shower and tub/shower valves with single handle pressure-balancing valves. This eliminated the hot and cold shots that we were experiencing in our shower, and assured that our grandkids would not be scalded by the 149 degree water coming from the central water heater. It works, and we are very pleased. They also snaked the shower drain, and inspected a couple of other areas of concern. I thought that what they charged was reasonable for the work that they did and the professionalism.

I approached an Avant van parked today on Gramercy and Wilshire to inquire about service today 12/3 at 2pm. The driver saw me approaching as he just entered the van. I was less than a foot away from his door ready for his window to be rolled down or door opened.
But what happened shocked me.
The driver looked at me and simply drove away fast almost hitting me.
Avant- should really look what people they hire.
Unprofessional. And most of all DANGEROUS behavior.

I called Avant Rooter at the end of the day after finding a leak in our water tank and the hot water not working. They scheduled an appointment first thing the next morning after our home warranty said they couldn't get to us for another week.

Ivar showed up promptly the next morning and was extremely professional and helpful on how we can prevent leaks and make our water heater last. Would highly recommend this company and specifically Ivar. Thank you again!

Evan was a big help. He was friendly, straight forward, and also transparent. He gave me an estimate and then went to look for the parts just to let me know if the estimate would change based on what he found. He also explained what my options were in case we decided not to use him or wanted to use him for a portion of the job.  After he finished the job (fairly fast) he also gave me a tip on what to do just in case something like that happens again, and we need to turn off our water to the home.

I didn't actually employ Avant Rooter or any plumber. But after reading my review, you'll understand why I gave them 5 stars.

Avant Rooter came out with a two-person crew for a free estimate. They were easy to schedule unlike other businesses that tell you to call back another day. Or those that cancel the day of or before.

And it was a free estimate. Think about that for a second. Other businesses will charge you a visit fee that goes toward their estimate. The problem with that is they know you're not going to let them walk away with $100 for an estimate. And so, they can quote a higher price knowing that you already have sunk $100 into the effort.

So back to Avant Rooter. Easy to schedule, free estimate, two-man crew. They spent nearly an hour trying to diagnose my buzzing pipes when the sprinklers came on. They checked the pressure in the line. Ran each sprinkler line. Finally diagnosed as likely one sprinkler valve that needed to be replaced or a leaking pvc pipe from that sprinkler valve. They were right because I've turned off that sprinkler line and the buzzing problem has gone away.

They recommended going to an irrigation specialist or turning it into a DIY project to replace the sprinkler actuator valve. They said that it was a relatively easy job, and that it would be much cheaper than getting a plumber to do it.

How can you beat that honesty? If I ever have a plumbing issue, I will not waste my time. I will go straight to Avant Rooter.

I've used Avant twice now during the covid pandemic and in my opinion they are the best plumbers in LA! They are prompt, efficient, and take the time to hear your issues and explain how they are going to fix them.

All of their technicians are extremely nice and personable, and their office staff is beyond helpful! The best part: they save your contact info and create a profile for you so that you don't have to give your address and email every time you call.

I will recommend them to anyone who asks for a good plumber!!

Their service was prompt and professional.  They emailed me the estimate and I haven't decided yet on having the service. I have confidence they would be able to take care of the most difficult job. We noticed a puddle in our front yard over the water meter vault. We requested quotes and hired Avant Rooter to replace the leaking pipe juncture. Ernesto was great. He found the problem right away and got us on the schedule to fix it quickly. He is a hard worker, made the lawn look nice after digging, and kept to his estimate. Walter came to my townhome and gave me an estimate of $275 to clear 2 side by side bathroom sinks. I called the following day to schedule the job and was given a two hour window for the next day. I received a call during that time saying that the work was not going to happen because an emergency came up. OK, I can understand. I was given a two hour window for the following day. No show, no call. I called the number that called me the previous day to reschedule. She said sorry, I will follow up and get right back to you. No call, no further contact since.

Evan from Avant Rooter came in for a free estimate concerning a water pressure issue that I've been experiencing with my kitchen faucet. Typical with most vendors, I received a couple of hours window where I would expect them to arrive. Evan arrived within the first five minutes of that window. Amazing. He was most professional and honest with his assessment and explained all the work and costs associated with my project. Evan even empowered me with the knowledge to do the work myself. I truly appreciated that he treated me with respect and encouraged me to try the fix on my own and save some money in the process. I never felt like he was pressuring me to pay for his services. Thank you, Evan, for your support and guidance, and I will keep Avant Rooter in mind for the next project.

Avant Rooter just finished repairing our kitchen sink strainer.  The strainer nut was frozen solid and I could not remove it! I called them on Tues late and they were out on Wednesday as promised and on time.  The technician
Evan Pearson, was polite,  knowledgeable and there was NO GIVE UP from him on removing a VERY STUBBORN Strainer Nut....he worked his tail off to remove and remedy the problem until it was completely resolved to both our satisfaction.  Upon completion he cleaned up and left the work area clean and neat.  In the future should plumbing issues arise we will no doubt utilize this local service.  Thanks again Evan!!

Walter and his team did a great job replacing a section of my main sewer line that was completely blocked by a root ball.  They had to remove masonry and dig a 4 1/2 ft. hole to access the pipe. They were very careful with all the excavating and did a professional job splicing my sewer line and adding new piping.  They came everyday, put everything back together, including replacing a section of brick and mortar that had to be removed, and cleaned up everything, including hauling away all the debris.  Prior to this repair, I had to first snake the main line and Avant's pricing was reasonable and competitive, as was the bigger job they did. Kudos to Freddy and Gonzalo who did all the heavy lifting on the sewer line replacement.  They were professional gentlemen and meticulous in their work and cleanup.

Marc came out today to clear our drain line. The price was fair and as advertised. He was on time, courteous, and masked for covid safety.  He recommended a drain line pressure washing if the problem persists. I would recommend them to anyone asking for a good plumber. The time frame i was given was between 2pm and 4pm. Chris showed up at around 115ish and had the job completed by 2pm.  Very friendly and knowledgeable. Estimate was a little higher than I thought but Im glad I went with it. Quick, clean and he did have all his covid19 ducks in a row. Definitely will use again if i ever encounter another plumbing issue.

We had a very slow-draining kitchen sink, which is something that tends to happen every couple years or so. I made a mistake of contacting this company instead of my usual plumber. After all, Avant Rooter has generally great reviews and the quote was $69 with prompt communication. I should have known that the too-low $69 quote was a warning sign.

They did generally arrive on time and the company was prompt in communication. People whom I interacted with were all polite and wore masks. This is where positives end, however.

After the Avant Rooter plumber arrived, he tried to snake the pipe and claimed to have been unsuccessful somehow. He told me he was able to snake it all the way, yet the water was still not draining normally. Even though the same issue has been solved by others before, by simply snaking. He told me we needed a $350 hydro-jetting of the entire house and that is guaranteed to fix the problem. It would blow all the stuff out, into the sewer, he told me.

The next day, they arrived with the equipment of some sort and after running it in a couple of areas (and making the front lawn smell like sewage plus spilling water into some of the under-sink cabinets), they informed me that (despite their prior assurances it would for sure fix the issue) it didn't help and they see some obstruction in the pipe, and it now requires the use of a 8,000-psi root rat device, which will cost me $1,200.

And if that fails, I might need a spot repair for $3.5K or some such. In the meantime, the kitchen sink that was at least draining slowly before their involvement, stopped draining altogether, and the water level in it was slowly rising.

I got so stressed I couldn't eat for couple of days. I couldn't concentrate on work or anything. The uncertainty and fear that we have serious plumbing problems of unknown nature was depressing.

I talked to my uncle, who is a plumber, and he suggested that something fishy has been going on. Likewise, I was getting suspicious about the hydro jetting that they ostensibly performed since, according to a cursory Google search, it is supposed to start all the way in and progress ever closer to the cleanout. Which they obviously couldn't have done since there was, according to them, an obstruction somewhere halfway, and they couldn't reach any further.

Subsequently, the kitchen sink overflowed into the kitchen, at which point we've had enough.

Another plumber thankfully came quickly and snaked the pipe within 30 mins for 1/10th of the cost of what Avant wanted for the root rat. Apparently there is nothing wrong with the pipe in question. Everything is fine now; the water drains and the other plumber told us it was just typical kitchen grease on the walls of the pipe. It is unclear what kind of hydro jetting Avant performed since there still was the buildup on the walls, which another plumber had to remove with his snake.

So you be the judge. I see two possibilities, neither of them good:
1. Incompetence
2. Avant tried to rip me off

When I told Avant that my problem was fixed in 30 mins, and they shouldn't come with their expensive root rat, they informed me that they are proud of our quality of work and our quality of work is guaranteed.

To add insult to injury, I just got a call from them where they asked me to pay them $350 for hydro-jetting. Mind you, they didn't complete the hydro-jetting of the whole house. And whatever part of the house they did do, despite what they told me, didn't fix the problem. Did they just do it partially and incorrectly? In any case, they think I should pay them, apparently, for making my problem worse, wasting my time and causing me stress and anxiety.

I assume this is how they guarantee the quality of their work. By trying to make you pay for not fixing the problem and instead making it worse. I am beyond upset with Avant and suggest you go elsewhere. Nobody deserves this kind of aggravation and stress.

Jim from Avant came to fix a problem with a blocked sewer.  He found a cheaper and faster way to fix my problem.  He also gave me a few pointers about cost saving on other plumbing projects that I had in mind.  

I really appreciated the honesty and customer service.  Definitely plan to use them for my next project.

I had great experience with Avant Rooter. I had a few separate issues that needed to be dealt with. Ivar arrived and diagnosed everything. One of the problems could have required breaking my bathroom tiles, but Ivar went above and beyond and managed to fix everything to my satisfaction, and without incurring additional costs. All in all I highly recommend, and I will call them again next time I have an issue.

Jim showed up with his mask down below his nose.  He took a look at the area where my basement had flooded during the rain.  A quote never came.  In the interim, a leak from my refrigerator was detected.  He came out again and emptied the pan declaring it to be condensation.  When it turned out that he'd misdiagnosed the problem, I called him out again and after the appointment time, I called to see what was going on only to find he was sick.  Ok, we rescheduled for 3 days later and again he didn't come, I called, he was sick again and wanted to come next week.  Quote never came for the basement.  Very bad way to do business!

Hired this company to hydrojet a line and Jeff came out.  Charged me $700.00 to hydrojet a 60' line.  When I asked him to finish by finding the clog in another pipe he said that he doesn't hydrojet any lines that have a 90 degree elbow.   He refused to finish the work he started and I had to hire another company which I paid $300.00 to hydrojet the line that had the 90 degree angle which he said was no problem.  Why is it so hard to find an honest plumber?  He also was talking on the phone with the office during our appointment complaining about other customers being a waste of time when they didn't get the work done with him.  I also let him borrow my step ladder to use to get to the other side of the fence and he didn't even bring it back to the other side!  He left is all muddy and nasty for me to clean up for him..... I guess I ended up working for him instead of the other way around.  
What a waste of time this company is...they are just out to make the most amount of money with the least amount of work possible.  He spent a total of 30 minutes at my house and got away with $700.00 and didn't fix the problem.  He also wanted to charge me for additional work which he quoted me 7K for!  LoL, I hired another company to do the same work for $750.00.

We had an emergency sewage back up in all of the bathrooms and Marc Clancy was the plumber that came over. He was courteous and professional and extremely thorough.  Unfortunately the job ended up requiring them to dig into my yard and replace a length of old pipe that had collapsed and I was amazed at the speed at which they were able to complete such a complicated task.

Overall I was strung along for days, visits were being scheduled then no one was showing without any communication from them, and the final straw was when I called them after no one showed for the THIRD time and they tried to rescheduled for yet another day.
What the hell?

Keep your appointments and if somethings goes wrong communicate. Your client shouldn't be chasing you to give you their business and then waiting days...

I don't know why I gave them so many chances, but I'm done. They're on my blacklist now.

Plumbing Technicians were Ivar and Pedro.

We needed to relocate our washer and dryer to the garage. We had several plumbers come out and provide quotes for us. Avant pricing was in the middle and our decision was easy after speaking with Jesse. His great attitude seal the deal along with his honesty & being up-front about about the pros and cons.

The project took about 1.5 days. Ivar and Pedro were quiet, quick and extremely clean with the work area. I would've never known any work was being done if I was not working from home.

My washer and dryer works great and am super happy with their work.

If there are any future plumbing needs, they will be my go-to! Great job, guys! Appreciate the fantastic service.

Our kitchen sink completely clogged, and Avant Rooter were able to send a technician within a few hours on the same day. The technician's name was Miguel. He was very professional and punctual. He explained all the costs up front so there was no hidden fee. He did a good job removing the clog, explaining what was going on during the work, keeping the site clean, as well as cleaning up afterwards. Over all, we are very satisfied.

I was very pleased with the skill and professionalism of Alfredo and his team. They installed a tankless water heater at my house and walked me through every step of the way. There were some challenges to my unique job, but they found solutions and were transparent, honest, and dependable with me every step of the way. Called Avant, and they were able to get a plumber come out for a free estimate the next day.  After getting 2 other estimates, I called on a Friday and was able to schedule an appointment for the next Monday (they also gave an option to schedule the weekend at no additional cost but I wasn't available). Daniel (plumber) was very professional and gave great explanations and responses to our questions. He replaced some pipes that were leaking under the sink.  Quoted price was much less than the other 2 highly rated plumbers on yelp in our area. Will definitely keep in mind for future plumbing needs.

I called Avant Rooter to help with a recurring kitchen sink issue, where the water from the garbage disposal side would flood into the other side from time to time. I told them that I had to work from home at a specific hour, and to please send someone prior to this time. Evan showed up at my apartment less than an hour later.

He listened to my description of the problem, took one look and immediately diagnosed the issue. He pointed out a leak he had noticed outside of the building prior to coming to my apartment, and had clearly taken the time to get a full picture of what was going on. Upon looking at the pipes, he discovered some extremely questionable piping under the sink, and took the time to explain/show to me the issues. He was upfront about the different options of services he could provide, as well as the various prices for each service. He patiently waited as I called my landlord to obtain approval before beginning his work. Due to the poor state of the plumbing, the job ended up taking much longer than initially anticipated, but he stayed until the job was completed and tested it several times to make sure that my issue was resolved.

I greatly appreciated his professionalism, obvious knowledge and pride in his work, and patience to explain to me what was going on in my apartment.  As a woman, I get irritated when people assume I don't want to know/won't understand something (like when I go to the mechanic and people treat me like they are shocked that I can drive a stick shift), and I super appreciated Evans demeanor in treating me as an equal rather than a 'damsal in distress'.  

The only minor complaint that I had was that the initial quote was $69 over the phone but that it would cost more if there wasn't easy access to the pipes. I asked what this meant, and the answer I received made it sound like that the pipes needed to be easy to get to, rather than the actual answer which is that if any pipe needs to be temporarily removed - this is automatically more expensive. Evan was upfront and told me about this as soon as he looked at the pipes, and made sure I approved anything before he worked. Therefore, I was not made to pay a surprise bill or anything like that, however it would have been nice to get a more realistic expectation prior to his arrival.

I put in a quote request through yelp and Avant Rooter responded quickly. They were able to get a tech out very quick same day. Matthew showed up in the time I was provided for the block and assessed the situation quickly . He provided us a very reasonable quote to get it snaked and have the pipe repaired properly. Under $300 for plumbing is a good deal for me when it's multiple things being taken care of. Matthew is super polite and listened. We had a very expensive valve that needed to be replaced behind our fridge.  Avant Rooters sent over their Kyle to provide a quote and details of what he would have to do to replace the valve.  He was able to get us a discount but we didn't realize how steep of a discount we were getting until we had shopped around and got quotes from other plumbers.  
Kyle was very knowledgeable, punctual, and friendly.  He was very patient with us with all the questions we asked and explained all the steps he would be taking to replace the valve.  He wore a mask and shoe covers while performing the replacement.  He also cleaned the area up after the job was done.  We would definitely call Kyle/Avant Rooter again for any plumbing jobs in the future.

I recently bought a triplex and had multiple plumbing projects. Over the last year, three different plumbers had recommended I replace or line my sewer system. At the same time, I was also adding a bathroom to my front property. I had several bids for all the work. Avant was the most competitive and straight forward (no upselling). They gave me very reasonable prices and were very flexible--fixing some work in progress which had been done incorrectly. Ivar and Pedro were very friendly, knowledgeable, and hard-working. We passed the initial city inspection with no go-backs. Greg also has a construction business, and I will consider his company for future business.

Very unprofessional company. Came out to my property to do some drain cleaning. Told me one price then the guy who came out started demanding payment before doing the work. Luckily I was able to convince him to do the work first seeing how it was my first time using them and didn't know if they would do the job correctly or not. Guy clearly never cleaned drain pipes before. After all that he gives me a bill for several $100's of dollars more than what was originally given to me with out any heads up or speaking to me about it. I found Avant Rooter through Yelp and I am so glad I did.  They made making an appointment fast and easy.  They were communicative throughout the process with when I could expect my technician to arrive.  They provided me with a quote that was clear and ended up being spot on.

I had the luck of working with Raul Reyes today.  He was prompt, communicative, knowledgeable and solved all my issues.  He also took the time to explain why he was doing what he was doing and what it would cost before he did it.  He laid out several options.  I was very impressed with his customer service and knowledge.  He was clean when coming inside and took the time to make sure he left the area even tidier than when he came in.

Will definitely be calling Avant Rooter next time and asking for Raul.

The first time they came to clean my sink drain in the bathroom a couple months ago - they came late but all seemed to have worked (price was $325 for one sink - $69 is just a snake).  That was in March, 2021.  In Oct 2021, I had a clogged line on the toilet in the same bathroom - arranged for them to come. The office called me twice to reschedule - and also an hour before the scheduled time to get more details where they found that i had the deep clean on the line just 6 months ago.  As I waited in my two hour window  (hour into my wait) they called again to try to reschedule to the next day saying the technicians are all too far away to get to my scheduled appointment.  Seems like they decided they cant make the same money.  Technician who came was good but the service?  I would recommend trying someone else first.  Very disappointed.  I will post my next plumber review to see what may come.

Not only are they friendly but very professional. Ivar came to look at our backup problem but he wasn't able to come in so Evan came instead. Evan did the job instantly and cleaned up the mess as he was going along. He even stayed to see if there was water leakage. Great customer service, excellent response and communication, very professional.  We had a series of issues that started while we were cleaning and renovating our guest house for new renters.  The shutoff valves for the main house and the guest house were old and frozen.  The valves for the kitchen sink couldn't be replaced unit the shut off valves were replaced.   Avant contacted me immediately on a Sunday, and sent Miguel out.
Miguel and his supervisor arrived on time diagnosed the problem quickly and scheduled the repairs for the next day.
All repairs were explained and the quote was fair.  
Miguel showed up on time and started work immediately.  A few other issues came up during the job and were handled quickly, easily.

Avant Rooter was very prompt contacting me for an estimate for plumbing work I want done or think I want done to my home. They are not messing around. Once I was contacted on Yelp, an appointment was made, Evan arrived promptly and we went over the list I had in mind. I asked if I should keep my current water heater about 3 years old or switch to a tankless system since my hot water takes a while to get to my shower. Evan took the age of the heater, tank size, occupants (me and my two dogs) into consideration and he thought the water heater was still good and suggested turning up the temperature. We also went over the other items on my list like moving plumbing for future renovations, he was straight forward and comprehensive. He really helped me just with the initial consultation.

I contacted Avant Rooter around 3pm and they immediately gave me a fair quote and scheduled someone for early the next morning. Every other company I contacted had a much longer wait time and wouldn't give an estimate without an in person consult - I had a clogged kitchen drain. Miguel came right on time and efficiently fixed the issue as well as identifying and repairing a previously existing leak.

Beware of Avant. Had a clogged sewer line and called them. Friendly guys, cleared the drain with good 1st time response and pricing, but after that the experience went downhill fast. Had them come out a 2nd time and per their recommendation used hydro jet  service. It was expensive but within 2 weeks the line was clogged again. After agreeing to stand by their work and come out for no charge to clear the line, they changed their mind a day later. Their new after the fact service...no warranty for sewer line cleaning, new price was $259 (5x the original price for a basic clean out). TOTAL RIP-OFF! We called someone else, easily finding a normal deal.

I know 1 bad review does not make or break. However this is  NOT a good experience and this does deserves to be known.

Day 1 - After coming out with hydro-jetting and not clearing the plug completely or having their camera scope as advertised, tech said they would be back the next day.
Day 2 - scheduled between 2:00-4:00 after we called, Avant postponed again.
Day 3 - of stopped sewer main line.  Called the office with no return call, so texted their service text in the morning and to my surprise a reply from Yani. Yani confirmed Avant Head Tech would be out between 2:00-4:00 and have all the equipment necessary to complete the job.  Texted Yani again and Yani replied  that head tech would call soon.  To tech credit, communication was poor within their company. Head tech called at 4:30 is postponing for a 3rd time on Friday afternoon, as he was off for the day and had no access to camera scope. While on phone with head tech and my husband on phone speaker in my frustration I said WTF are we dealing with and from there the professional head tech went off and every other word was *uc* and yelling over the phone. LOL, I would say he was having a bad day. Unacceptable for a professional. We called Pro Rooter Services, Cesar, and Cesar cleared the blockage, on time and well prepared, where Avant could not.

Texted Yani, she texted back she would tell the manager of this experience.  Use Avant at your own risk. They are not prepared, organized with poor communications.

After the initial visit a field supervisor was to inspect the drain, two days later he finally informed us he wouldn't be arriving until the following day and then told us if that wasn't acceptable to call someone else so I'm taking his advise and I suggest everyone stay away.

Hands down, the best plumber experience I've ever had. My kitchen sink backed up on a Sunday night. They answered my call immediately, with excellent communication. Within 15 minutes I had a confirmed appointment. Ivar arrived on time first thing this morning, took great care, and was done within minutes. Very friendly, and left the area 100% spotless. A full 35 ft snaking, yet charged exactly what I was quoted on the phone, only $69 -- no gimmicks, no games. They will definitely get my business again, and referrals.

Plumber Matthew was helpful and did what he could to fix blockage at my mother's house.. But the supervisor who came out and wanted to upsell $ everything was not. Poor time management, weak customer service skills, costly service and a bunch of excuses on why a problem could not be properly diagnosed and corrected after charging me $1600. Wasted two days and still didn't fix problem. As a Veteran I was diapointed in this level of service. I contacted another company that diagnosed, made repairs and kept their word.

So, so thrilled with the work Ivar did for us this morning. We have had a leaky valve under the kitchen sink connected to an old water filter that connected to a fridge we inherited with the house and we don't use the ice maker at all so we just needed to get that leak sorted. Ivar is the only plumber we trust now! On top of doing a good job, he's friendly, respectful (wears a mask) and always explains the work he's doing and what the problem is.

I woke up this morning and black sewer water was overflowing from my toilet. I'm not talking about a slow dribble. Poop-smelling-water was gushing out like Old Faithful leaving me standing in ankle deep black water. I've worked with a few plumbers in the past so I called both of them, but none of them were available to come immediately. Thanks to Yelp I found Avant and Chris came to the rescue and arrived in less than an hour.

Chris came and used a snake to unclog our drain and discovered plant roots were growing inside our pipes causing our water to not drain. He spent sometime pulling out all the roots and gunk from our clogged sewer drains. It was absolutely disgusting and I'm forever grateful for Chris. One thing I greatly appreciate is him wearing shoe covers when he stepped into our house. I unfortunately had several plumbers and electricians come into our house during COVID and none of them wore shoe coverings. Chris was able to clear out all the pipes and even put a camera down the drain to show me what the problem was. He is incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and professional. After working with a few plumbers this year, I have to say Avant Rooter has the best pricing and the most professional workers. I was at Home Depot to get plumbing parts and I was having a difficult time locating the correct parts for my faucet and there were no store associates around in the plumbing department to assist me.  I was getting visibly irritated and suddenly I was asked by a another stores customer if I needed help.  After about 15 minutes of getting this guys help I had all the correct parts I needed to fix my faucet.  I was so grateful that the plumber Jim from Avant Rooter Services was so kind and knowledge freely giving  this complete stranger his time. We had a cracked PVC pipe underground in our front yard. Avant was quick to respond via Yelp and connected me with Pedro, one of their plumbers. The leak wasn't catastrophic, but Pedro still agreed to come out on weekend evening to asses the issue.

Pedro arrived the next morning (a bit later than we agreed to, but we had no urgent plans) to fix the pipe. He got the work done in quick time and also alerted us to some problem spots that could be an issue down the line.

I got some quotes ahead of the work and found Avant's pricing to be fair and within range of the others.

All in, I'd definitely hire them again. But obviously hope to not need their services any time soon.

TLDR; the plumbers at Avant don't seem to know what they're doing and will try to up sell you on services you don't need. Also, don't rely on the reviews here because they called me and offered to refund me 50% for the bad experience and take down my review. (This happened to me and I compromised my journalist integrity and removed my review - they never refunded me. Sorry yelp community)

Backstory:
I called Avant Rooter to come out and do a cctv inspection of my sewer line because I had just finished construction so LADBS required a sewer line inspection. I wanted them to come out and do an inspection before I scheduled the inspector to come out in case there were any issues in my sewer. They were quick to respond and scheduled someone to come out. The first plumber wasn't able to get the camera through to the main sewer line and told me it was due to a blockage and so they had to hydro jet the pipes, so I agreed to this service and paid them for it. The plumber then came out again to run the camera and still couldn't get the camera through and said it was because there might be a crack in the main sewer line which is why the camera is going into the ground instead of through the pipes. This time he tried charging me $397/hr to go digging around my foundation to look for where the issue was which is absolutely insane!

Eventually I called another local plumber to come out. He was able to get the camera through using a string to pull the camera through the area in the pipes where there was a crack. They were able to tell me where I had a crack in my main sewer line instead of digging up everything. I was then able to contact my contractor and get the main line repaired.

I called Avant to come out again to run the CCTV camera along with the inspector because I had already paid Avant for the CCTV inspection that was never completed. The inspector and Avant both arrived to do the inspection and THEY STILL COULDN'T GET THE CCTV camera through! So I had to call and reschedule with the inspector, get my contractor to dig up the sewer line, and then Avant was able to get their camera through and finally we completed the inspection.

All in all, thanks to my local plumber and my contractor I was able to pass inspection. Avant provided the cctv camera.

Look no further for all your drain and plumbing needs!  

We have had an ongoing problem with a sink and drain in the master bathroom.  Our landlord asked us to use his plumber, but the problem kept coming back, and frankly, his plumber was ALWAYS late and hard to get ahold of.

Jeffery and his team at Avant came highly recommended by a friend.  He arrived on time and gave us a few options on how to solve our problems.  He communicated clearly and offered solutions to guarantee the problem would not come back.

Happy to say we have not had to call Jeffery again, the problem is fixed.  It is great to know we have a responsive, timely respectful plumber to call if we ever need it again.

Chris from Avant came to the rescue when my original plumber cancelled his scheduled appointment less than 24  hours  before he was due to arrive. Trying to get on a new plumbers calendar, was next to impossible the day before Thanksgiving when everyone is trying to leave work early to prepare for their stay at home Thanksgiving celebrations due to COVID-19 restrictions. One of the tasks on the plumber's list was an adjustment to the gas line. I had rescheduled a gas range to be installed  the day after Thanksgiving due to an adjustment needed for the gas line. Avant- was able to get me scheduled the same day due to an early cancellation. Chris came out and reviewed the situation and was able to make the gas line adjustment before range was scheduled to be installed. Thank you Chris for your conscientious efforts and doing a good job!

Wow these guys are very professional. They kept me informed as to the progress of arrival by texting me. Our condo building has a central water heater so Saturday morning everyone was taking cold showers. Called Avant Rooter and they had Walter show up  before 1pm. It took Walter a few minutes to address the situation and hot water for everyone. Highly recommed Walter to fix your pumbing.

I hate plumbing!  It's almost like dealing with a used car dealer.  The anticipation of a big job, haggling and just the general inconvenience of it all.  But a non functioning toilet is more of an inconvenience, yes?!  I contacted five plumbing companies (including my apartment mgmt) only to get no answers or voice mails. Ugh!  I gave Avant Rooter a call, got someone that answered and took down my info. She called me back in less than 5 minutes to tell me that someone would be here between 12 and 2.  Kyle was here at 11:59!  Took a look around and gave the assessment and price. And that was that, no add-ons or upsell, no fine Corinthian leather.  He was thorough and did his best not to make too big of a mess (toilet and shower drainage). He was polite and professional.  
I have an account on Yelp but I don't leave many reviews, but the service was outstanding. I've been a renter and homeowner and have used many plumbers in my day, and most only once...Avant is the premier choice and I will call them in the future.

Avant will now be my go to plumber.  I used them on another small job in my house and price compared with other plumbers in the area (who were upcharging).  I called them again for an out of the box job with my hot tub and they delivered again.

Evan came and took care of my drain.  I spent hours the night before doing all that youtube/internet could help me with.   I removed/cleaned p-trap, put boiling water down the drain, used vinegar/baking soda, even tried snaking after I removed the p-trap.  No luck.  So I gave up and read a bunch of Yelp reviews and asked for quotes and decided on Avant.  

Evan showed up on time, was courteous and informative.  He was very clear about what he would do and suggest and the pricing associated.  Seemed very honest and upfront.  

He ended up snaking from the clean out and did it multiple times.  He kept testing it to see that it worked and went above and beyond.  He even gave good advice with regards to the future.  

So paid the drain clean special ($69) and was happy to do so with the service.  

Evan was great.  He knew what he was doing and was able to communicate what was going on and what he was looking for to make sure the problem was over.  My drain had lots of grease/organic material.  

Friendly too and he followed all Covid requirements.

So this is the 2nd time I called Avant Rooter but the first review because I  hardly review anything but this seemed worth my time.  My elderly mother-in-law's bathroom got clogged and because she NEEDS that bathroom I needed someone right away. Avant Rooter came within 20 minutes and took care of the problem.  Kyle, who had been to our house before was professional, knowledgeable, friendly, clean and WORE A MASK which was important to us. He took care of the problem in no time and charged me less for doing it than I've paid before to other plumbers. Kyle was even able run a camera through the pipes to really see where the blockage is coming from without making a separate appointment.  Anyway, Avant was great.

We were looking to get multiple quotes for a large plumbing / piping repair so we called Avant to come out and take a look,  Fortunately for us (unfortunately for Avant) the first person who came out fixed the issue.  

I felt bad that he came all the way out to look at our problem, only to be turned away once we resolved the problem.   He totally understood and took it in stride.  Super professional and nice- especially considering the situation.

I called and the person in dispatch, Johnny, stated that he couldn't quote me a service call charge.  That it would have to be given by the person coming for the job.  I thought that was a little weird as it's not the first time I've used a plumber.  The plumber came promptly, and he was very nice.  Bottom line, the amount was high since it was a Sunday and he needed to still go and get the right pipe.  I said that was fine and asked if we could just wait until the following day since there was a price drop, and it was already late in the day.  He said that was fine and we agreed he'd return the next day at 2pm.  Let's just say it's now after 6pm and no call or return text.  I called Johnny back who said I wasn't on the Board for calls today.  So, there you have it.  I was hoping by the reviews of others that I would also have a good experience, but it wasn't meant to be. The two stars was because at least I had a great in-person experience with the plumber.  It's just too bad that he blew me off.  Calling someone else.

I'm not sure why it works out this way, but holiday weekends are the best time for my kitchen sink to get plugged. Friday night I was cleaning up and getting ready for the weekend when I noticed the clog. I did all the things that I know how to do (baking soda & white vinegar, the plunger, etc.) and alas, the clog remained. I waited until Monday, Labor Day, to start calling plumbers. I knew - just knew - that I'd pay dearly since it was a holiday, but not so with Avant Rooter. Not holiday double charge for them! They're right in my neighborhood, responded quickly, were friendly, cleaned up after themselves and were oh, so professional. Their magnet is on my stove for the next time. I'm so happy to find them. Jim and Mike are a great team and while I hope that I don't need to call them again soon, it's a comfort to know that they can get here fast and charge a fair price. Thank you Avant Rooter!

I just want to say how impressed I am with the responsiveness, thoroughness, and efficiency of Avant Rooter. We suspected a leak, and within a day, over the holidays no less, we were able to get something on the books.

My kitchen sink is clogged and I had Avant Rooter to come to fix it. After an hour of trying, the technician couldn't fix it. He uninstalled the p trap under the sink and didn't tight it up when putting it back! The loose p-trap is causing leak and flooded my floor. This is such a horrible experience.

We had such a great experience with Avant Rooter! Our toilet was leaking so we called in the morning by early afternoon they were here! Matthew and Nate were not only fast but safe as well. Matthew C. from Avant Rooter was amazing. We had a clogged toilet that our plunger and snake weren't doing the job (Matthew ended up bringing a thicker one). I called Avant Rooter and the woman I spoke with was so kind, she put me on hold, and was able to get me an appointment within 2 hours of my call. The last TWO plumbers that I've hired both charged more than double than Avant Rooter and charged me to come back on day 2 when our sink wasn't fully fixed. Matthew C. called me on his way, again when he was outside, and again the day after to make sure everything was still working. He was so kind and professional. I had a non emergency leak, but one that needed to be fixed and I reached out via yelp sending out my request to multiple vendors.
Avant responded quickly and came out this past Monday to give me a formal bid. The evaluation was very thorough and Alex did look for ways to minimize the cost to me.  He checked the pressure on multiple hose bibs and he came to the conclusion that I had where the leak was.
He said he could get started immediately, but I had to send him off to have other bidders come as well
Avant did get the job, and Matthew and Alex completed the work in 2.5 days for completing not only the water leak, but I had asked for additional work to be done and we added that scope - discounted because they were already on site.
While doing their work, they focused on minimizing our water service downtime.  Over 2.5 days, the water was probably down for a few hours in between any real usage period (between lunch and dinner). They gave us ample warning to get some water ready just in case.
Matthew and Alex came to my house clean, left dirty and they spent little time dilly-dallying.  There were a few surprises along the way, but nothing they couldn't handle or fix.

Ridiculously bad service from these guys. Called them about an emergency leak in my kitchen. Explained that I need to fly out in two days and it must be done urgently. Signed up for service for the next day from noon to 2 pm. At 1:30 - called them to inquire about the plumber coming. Was assured that he should be there soon. Called back at 2 pm - they apologized for the delay and said that was an emergency leak somewhere and the plumber was held up. Said they would find a different plumber. After a while called me back and said that they found someone from 4 pm to 6 pm. I said fine, just make sure it's done tonight. At 5 pm started calling them again - was assured yet again that the plumber was on his way. At 6 pm after calling them for the 10th time that day, they finally admitted that they wouldn't be able to send anyone today - but perhaps I would like to wait until tomorrow? Sure, let me cancel my flight just for you! Had to scramble to find a night plumber for twice the price - and I was lucky I could find someone.

I wanted very badly to be able to write a good review.  I submitted a request through Yelp for a plumber to solve:

1. A major link from a bathtub.
2. Rebuild two toilets
3. Install a garbage disposal.

Avant charged almost $1,000 for these service.  They've made 5 trips and one guy missed 3 appointments.

The tub, as far as I can tell, is not leaking thankfully.

On 4 of the trips they had to look at the garbage disposal which still leaks though now from a totally different place...

On all 5 of the trips they've had to look at the toilet.  It currently takes 1 minute and a half to flush which is longer than when they started.  

Their office team has always been responsive and the plumbers they send have been very nice.  And they've always called to say when they could not make the appointment.

As soon as the Covid lockdown ends, I'll go to Home Depot and figure out what I need to repair them again.

Noticed a water stain developing in my livingroom ceiling (directly underneath our 2nd floor bathroom) that required plumber attention. Chris was the Advent technician that came for free inspection. Following a thorough inspection, Chris shared his diagnosis, while advising best to open up ceiling to fully address all potential leak(s). There was no hard-sell. He left me with an estimate to think through in coming days, for both plumbing resolution as well as rough contractor (in-house) cost for opening/ patching up ceiling.

From the first visit to the confirmed appt, Avant was easy to get a hold of, and responsive. Chris showed up on time to our appt, opened up the ceiling, identified the source of the leak, then shared a revised estimate. Upon my acceptance of the new estimate, Chris and Raul showed up on time the following day, and worked diligently to rectify the issues. Their supervisor Jesse was also onsite to oversee the work to completion the same day.  All three remained professional, informative as I asked questions, and mindful of COVID safety precautions (masks, maintained distance). Chris, in particular, was always proactive in ensuring he kept our home and his workspace clean (always put on disposable booties over his shoes when walking around our house). Highly appreciated.

The contractor arrived the following day to complete the ceiling patch job.  Jesse remained in touch in the coming days to ensure we were satisfied with the result, and reminded us of their warranty should problems arise.

All in all, a positive first experience with Avant. No surprise, hidden cost, responsive and approachable staff, and work done well and timely. Hoping we don't need to call them again any time soon.  But I will happily recommend Avant to others with plumbing need.

Just moved into a new home and am still learning about the house. Thought we had a water heater leak and called Avant. Within an hour, they sent Evan who came out and showed us that the pressure relief valve just caused the tank to flush some water onto the floor of the garage. He also helped us find a minor leak coming from inside that if we didn't pay attention to then it might cause us problems in the near future and gave us options for how to approach a solution. I'm writing this review because I'm frankly blown away by this company. Here it is on a random Sunday afternoon, Father's Day no less, when I had read some article online about high water pressure possibly being the reason why I'm having some plumbing issues. I had a water meter and checked it and it read that it is pretty high. Everything online said that I'll need a new pressure regulator. I contacted this company on yelp and literally within 10 minutes they had a wonderful plumber named Patrick show up at our house and a brand new truck. Sunday afternoon. Amazing.

To make it even better, Patrick came, was very professional and honest, checked our pressure and spent about 20 minutes tinkering with our pressure regulator, and eventually said that he could either charge me for a brand new pressure regulator at around $450, or you can be honest and tell me that I don't need a new one and that the existing one is just fine and it'll all be done. I cannot believe that a plumber is this honest that he's willing to give up a major job, it would take him very little time to perform, because he wants to be honest and good. Just for that, I wanted to bring them some business, but obviously I don't have a need right now, so I wanted to write this review because I want other people to recognize how honest they are. A company that is willing to tell you that you don't need to have anything done at a time when you call them offering them work is a good, HONEST company. I urge anyone to consider this company and ask for Patrick. Amazing plumber and great individual!!!

Awesome response from the office staff to the Technician that came out. I reached out yesterday afternoon after realizing we had a clog somewhere in our main sewer line. They were able to coordinate getting a technician out first thing this morning. The technician came out, snaked the main line, but that did not unclog the backed up water. He then proceeded to snake both toilets, and both showers before finally getting the result in the second shower. Needless to say, the technician Raul kept trying and wasn't going to leave until he figured out the issue. He spent more time that I am sure was planned, and the price charged was very reasonable all things considering and the amount of time he spent there. Thank you Miriam, Dulci and the whole team.

Thank you Patrick H. for being so honest about what we did (and didn't) need to have done to fix our problem!

We called Avant Rooter to help with a smell we thought was coming from our master bathroom drain. After checking the p-trap, which was fine, he recommended flushing our pipes. This sounded like a solid plan since we didn't know the last time it'd been done.

Patrick went into our crawl space to check our pipes before starting the work. When he came out, he told us he smelled the odor but believed the cause was a dead animal (yuck!) instead of plumbing and recommended against having the pipes flushed. He was 100% correct and saved us hundreds of dollars we would've paid on plumbing that didn't fix our problem because we didn't know any better.

Thank you for being so honest! We will absolutely use Avant the next time we have a plumbing issue.

Our kitchen sink was overflowing and Robert came in with all tools needed to fix the problem. He was diligent in his work, super professional, very respectful and extremely personable and kind to me and my family members in the apartment. Ivar and Pedro solved our problem with hot and cold shots in the showers!  They installed pressure balance valves and changed out the 2-handle shower levers to single handle levers.  Checked out other possible plumbing problems and assured us they weren't problems.  Felt they were honest, accommodated the date I wanted the work done (2 1/2 weeks after the initial consult).  Had to warn 5 neighbors in our condo complex that their water was going to be turned off, so needed Avant to do the work when we scheduled it.
Ivar suggested we purchase the shower trim and valves ourselves to save money.  He wanted to approve them before we ordered them to make sure they were the right items.  He was so busy (probably helping those with plumbing emergencies), that he wasn't always able to respond in a timely manner.  Thankfully, we have Amazon prime.  However the trim did not have Amazon prime delivery and arrived while they were working on the project.  
Would definitely hire Avant Rooter again!

I highly recommend Avant Rooter. I live in Huntington Beach and have been using Alfredo for a few years. Alfredo is an outstanding plumber who is knowledgeable, responsible, and has great communication.

I recently learned Avant Rooter is capable of much more complex plumbing projects. I had used them for servicing my tankless water heater and snaking my clean out. My recent problem required digging down and replacing my main sewer line installed in the 40s that had failed. This included concrete removal, tunneling, asphalt in the ally, and pushing new pipe under my garage along the path of the failed pipe without excavation.

I had 4 other plumbers look at the problem and received varying scopes and quotes, some of which were just plain wrong and would not have solved the problem. Alfredo from Avant Rooter and Anthony, the Branch Manager both took on the problem, properly assessed, and provided a timely quote that was also the best price. It is a rare day when quality, timeliness, and best price go together. I can happily say with Avant Rooter, that is the case. I have been in the construction industry a while and I highly recommend Avant Rooter.

Yesterday I would have given it a two BUT they truly  guaranteed the quality of their work. Initially a younger less experienced plumber came and misidentified the problem. Upon request, they sent a more experienced plumber, Daniel, who throughly  examined the situation. He was able to identify the problem and was clearly able to explain what was happening and rectify the situation. The supervisor I spoke to was very efficient and understanding and we are getting  a reimbursement because the job that really needed addressed was less involved and less expensive.
If I don't receive my reimbursement I will let you know but all in all I have to say this is a company that stands by their word and work from my experience thus far.

In November 2020 Avant Rooter put in a new sewer line for us. They did a fantastic job and finished sooner than promised. Kyle did the job together with his coworkers. They were all hardworking professionals and nice guys who came when promised.They cleaned up and put the landscaping back together. What we have been dreading for years was smooth and quick. A technician came out to fix a leak. He completely misidentified the source as the toilet upstairs and because I was under a lot of stress, I did not make the connection that there was no possible way the leak could have come from the bathroom upstairs because the bathroom upstairs was not above the leak. He charged $350 to tighten the loose toilet he identified as the source and left without giving me a receipt. When I called a week later to inform them the leak was continuing, the same technician came back, gave me the run around, and then told me I would need to get a leak detector to come out and that he could get one here for $750. Long story short, they did not credit me for the work done on the misidentified source of the leak and then price gauged the additional work (FYI, leak detection should be around $350). I decided to go with another plumber (Good Guy Plumbing) and they have been incredibly fair, trustworthy, and reasonable.

Avant Rooter did a great job with my very clogged and backed up kitchen sink.  John and Kyle came out and used their Hydrojet and Snake to clear the pipes from the bottom and the top.  It was quite a process, but now I can say, my sink drains better than ever before!

I am providing my honest and emotionally detached feedback.   I asked for a quote from this establishment on yelp.  They indicated that they would need to see the problem in person.   I scheduled an appointment.  They could not make the appointment, they let me know.  I said I would reschedule, the plumber showed up the day after without an appointment or confirmation from me.  I was supposed to be getting an estimate.  The water was turned off and the plumber broke the valve on the mixer, prior to this we had no leaks.  After doing so, he called and said that it would be $1600.00 to replace the shower mixer and the hot and cold in the sink.  I indicated that was too much.  He said that he would at least have to cap the line because he broke the valve of which he should not have touched (in my opinion), because it was supposed to be an estimate.  The plumber left; we are now unable to turn on our water as the upstairs shower mixer valve was broken off by the plumber.  That was my experience with this establishment.

We had a smell emitting from our laundry room that we could not isolate. We had already had one plumber, terminix, and two handymen come by without being able to make significant progress. We eventually had Chris come out for a free consultation and he was able to isolate the smell instantaneously. Unfortunately for Avant Rooter, the smell was not plumbing and so there was no further service for Chris to complete which would get him paid. At that point I asked him about a smell coming from my bathroom sink and again, he identified it immediately. He could have offered to clean it and charge me but instead verbally taught my roommate what to do and gave me a call to update me as well. I told him - man, I wish I could get you paid you've been so helpful and he said at the end of the day he is just happy to help people and that the company always appreciates reviews, if I so felt inclined to give one, to continue growing their business. I rarely review people on yelp and would never allow myself to be coerced into a review but the entire AvantRooter team was so helpful from the person who answered the phones to Chris that I had to let every one know. I can't speak for their plumbing work but based on the way they approach customer retention and relationships, I have to imagine it is high quality.

This is my first 1-star review. Daniel performed a sewage inspection as part of the escrow inspection process. It has been over a week and after several calls requesting the inspection report, it was never provided. No service was requested, only an inspection, so the report is the product I purchased. And now inspection period is over so it was a complete waste. I hate to do this but no report makes the inspection a waste. I called them and informed them yesterday that I will be leaving a 1-star review, but still no report. Sorry.

We recently bought a new house and have been having several problems. We've had inspectors and contractors come since we moved in, but they've failed to mention critical repairs and left jobs unfinished, and we keep encountering more issues. However, we had Ivar from Avant Rooter come to work on our laundry closet and he was really nice, extremely thorough and clear about the work that needed to be done, took the time to make sure we understood what was wrong and worked quickly and efficiently. Avant Rooter was also very quick to quote us on further work that needed to be done and gave us a good deal on the price. Highly recommend Avant Rooter. On the phone they quoted me 69$ for clearing sink drain. Guy came in person and immediately said it's 149$ because it was a kitchen sink and needed to take off the pipe. When I pushed back he said it is not 69$ on sundays. Sunday's are busy so it's $149. Ok, so which reason is it??? Sounds like a bunch of excuses. Clearly dishonest - avoid this place.

Avant Rooter was incredibly helpful when they came to our house in Sherman oaks on February 11th. We had just moved in so they showed us how to adjust the water heater, adjust the water pressure, tweak the toilet outflow AND were very honest by saying we didn't need an unnecessary snake in a bathtub drain. Hired Avant Rooters to fix a sewer offset issue and corroded pipes noted in my home inspection report. Anthony talked me through the process and followed up on my questions. I believe the price was on the higher end but still fair (Compared with other quotes I had received.) Kyle came out with a few guys and completed the job with 1.5 day; it was nice of him to send pictures before closing up since I wasn't on site (but honestly I don't know what I was looking at?! But I trust that they did what they said.)  A day later I complained that the sod looked horrible where the repair was done and Raul responded immediately to fix the problem. He sent Pedro out the next day at time of my choice and patched in new sod; now it's looking great and will be back to normal in a few weeks I am sure when the patch grows more seamlessly. Thanks for the great customer service! Would consider Avant Rooter for future jobs!

I found Avant through Yelp and was looking for more extensive work than the typical clogged plumbing. I had water lines and a drain run from one location in my home to the garage, as well as a gas line and dryer vent (relocated washer/dryer to garage). This involved going into walls, etc. Not an easy job.

I was impressed from the beginning with the professionalism and competitive quote from the technician lead. I decided to go with Avant, and I'm so happy I did. Not only did they do everything they said they would, it was even better than expected. I'm pretty particular too, so that's saying a lot. Mike, Alfredo, Orwin and Walter were all top notch.

We had a fantastic experience with Avant, Ivar in particular. He got right down to business and had the plugged kitchen drain cleared quickly. This was actually the second company we contacted since the previous day another company came out. The previous plumber smelled good but was not able to fix the problem. However, he suggested he could come back the next day and hydro jet the plug for $595. Since he didn't disassemble the pipes before he snaked the sink, my husband got suspicious and we contacted Avant, immediately set up an appointment for the next day and Ivar arrived and promptly took care of what the other company couldn't for a fraction of the price. After being rescheduled multiple times and waited 2 days for my apartment's regular plumber, I finally gave up on them and anxiously searched one near my neighborhood. Avant Rooter is the most efficient one among them. Yani scheduled my appointment right away and Kyle arrived within an  hour! Called for a clogged drain. They were prompt in replying and on time. When the plumber came snaked drain. Didnt get clog fixed. Instead told me he could replace my caste iron peetrap. Or he could put a clean out drilling threw my house.  Gave me some outrageous quotes. Well never went to just look at the pipes. Which I knew we put in a new pee trap a few months ago changing it from caste iron to the plastic one. I said no thank you. Instead found a different plumber who went straight to the roof to snake it. Unplugged it right away.

Great service! Fast response. I needed an emergency sewer cleaning, my main sewer line was clogged. Called a few nearby places and most of them couldn't send someone until the next day. Very pleased with the team at Avant. They tackled a backed-up drain in an aging apartment building trying everything before determining that an old cast iron drain pipe from the '50's had just given up. They cut out the old pipe and replaced and added a new clean out. The biggest plus here was their capacity to identify and resolve a major issue within 24 hours. It comes from having a big enough team to get the complete job done quickly. Our technician, Kyle, was great. Although the job was not cheap, from the amount of resources they put toward the issue, the price was fair. I'll use them moving forward.

Unfortunately this is how I have to rate my experience. Requested an appointment on Friday. They offered same day 11-1 window. I said yes, then they retracted that. They said their tech doesn't have the right tools on him. Ok. Offered Saturday 11-1. Nobody shows up. I call and text the number, a nice lady said I don't know what happened but we didn't have your appointment on schedule. Can we come Sunday 11-1? I said yes. She said she will follow up personally to make sure they come. Chris was supposed to be my tech. I follow up the day of my 3rd! appointment, only to find out Chris isn't making it, and Alex is on his way. Mind you it's already 20 min last my appointment. No word on eta. Thanks for taking uptown three days waiting for a never arriving schedule. Can say much about their quality of work, as I we seem to be unable to make it past the keeping the appointment was made issue. I really get annoyed when people don't have any amount of respect to other's time.

I contacted Avant Rooter about my drain clog and they quickly answered with useful information about dealing with condos. My HOA got back to me that they use a different plumber which is experienced with determining whether the clog is in my drains I'm responsible for or if it is in the main drains that are the HOA's responsibility. I didn't use Avant Rooter because my HOA uses another plumber but I did get fast informative feedback from Avant Rooter that helped me.

These guys are great! They did a complex job redoing the sewer line and drainage for 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, and laundry in a very small crawl space and they got it done in half the time that was quoted by another plumber. They were willing to match the price or another plumber and give me a good deal. In the course of their work, they realized some elements of the job they originally quoted weren't necessary. Rather than just do a bunch of unnecessary work on my house and charge me for it, they brought it to my attention that I didn't need some of the work. They knocked money off the price to make things fair. Great plumbers! Highly recommend!

Iver and Raul came out on a Sunday and fixed the bathtub faucet that was leaking into the wall. We were very fortunate that the wall did not have to be cut into.  They were able to rapidly repair the problem. Iver also fixed the leaking hose faucet.  Thank you Iver and Raul!

I am a realtor and needed a mainline sewer inspection for a home my clients were in escrow on and we needed it done in a very short timeframe. Avant was able to come out quickly and arrived during the promised time window. The technician, Jeff, was incredibly thorough and professional. He was able to quickly uncover some pretty major and costly issues with the sewer line that my clients would never have known about since it was under a concrete slab...nightmare waiting to happen! Additionally, Jeff was able to walk us through the discovered issues in a very clear and concise manner and outlined different potential fixes/associated costs. Ultimately, it saved my clients tens of thousands of dollars in potential repairs and they couldn't have been more pleased! I'd highly recommend Avant being anyone's first call for all plumbing related issues.

I had an emergency leak in my condo caused by main drain clogs and the Avant team responded quickly and professionally.  Despite mutual concerns around Coronavirus, the plumbers all had gloves, removed shoes and Avant works with a great clean-up crew to help disinfect affected areas after they finished. I highly recommend them and specifically enjoyed the professionalism of Robert, Raul and Michael in fixing our clogged drain.

I called on their $49 drain cleaning special ($49 through cleanout or $99 if other access) late last night and made an appointment for the next day.  Josh came by during the scheduled window with notice a little before he was here.  He was professional and courteous, he even put booties on before I asked.  Although we didn't qualify for the $49 special since we couldn't use our frozen shut cleanout (reasonable since it's 40 years since it was used and he did try it diligently), we still got a good price $99 to unclog the drain from the bathroom under the sink.  Josh went above and beyond by going under the house which isn't easy to make sure the snake didn't cause a hole in our old pipes and also when I asked for an estimate to unclog a tub we never use as well as fix the faucet handle on that tub.  He was able to fix it reasonably well while diagnosing the problems.  He could have tried to pull a trick and make it seem like a big job, but he didn't, very honest. I like their up front fees, no upsell or extras.  I will definately recommend them and will myself use them again.

On a Sunday morning, we had a backup and called Avant Rooter. They came out the same day within hours. They were professional, knowledged and explained to us exactly what the problem was and what our options were to either fix the problem temporarily or permanently. They have a large team of plumbers with expertise in heating, plumbing, gas and electricity. They fixed our backup and we also had them replace our old, leaking water boiler. They were all extremely courteous, professional and punctual.

Avant Rooter did a great job cleaning out our bathroom drain and changing out the valve in the toilet. The technician was friendly, informative, and cleaned up. I appreciated that he was wearing gloves and a mask, too. And thanks for coming on a Saturday

Had slow draining showers in both bathrooms so I figured there was a clog in a mainline somewhere. Kyle came out the same day and snaked both bathrooms, checked the mainline from the house to the city line.  He appeared to have solved the problem.  He was friendly, professional, attentive to my questions, etc.  Next day, the backup started again.  Jeff came and looked closer, tried to determine the cause. Turned out to be a more major problem and they were able to fix it. Kyle and a couple of other guys worked the day before and after Christmas, showed up when they said they would and worked hard to get it done right. Would hire them again.

We had a great experience with Ahmad! He was kind, friendly, and respectful. He offered to use boot covers through our apartment and took the time to educate us and explain everything. Everyone I spoke with at this company is kind, timely, and helpful. Yani and Miriam went above and beyond on a holiday to help me get an appointment quickly! Definitely recommend!

After non-returns of my calls to other service providers, Avant did many things right and well.  First, they have great telephone hours and a good first contact person.  Second, they were able to move the appointment up by two hours, which was why I chose someone local.  Third, Matthew, their representative, found the right entrance into the complex without any difficulties, a problem oft encountered in our complex.  Fourth, he practiced good protocols of cleanliness and Covidness.  Five, he made a good effort, but admitted that the job could not be finished.  The honesty is praiseworthy.  But sixth, he suggested a further step to keep trying to resolve it.  Finally, he came back with another idea, with new equipment.  This stick-to-it-ness shows that he's not just working for pay, but has his customer and his professionalism at heart.  People who work with hands can be just as excellent as any other.  Thanks to Avant and Matthew and their crew.

I needed help in a hurry with a backed up commode!!  I was sure it was a big problem and require lots of work!!!  The Avant Rooter coordinator I spoke with was Jeff and he told me Avant was in the area helping another customer and it wasn't long until they were at my house!!!  Raul had all the tools he needed and it didn't take but maybe 20 minutes and the problem was solved!!!  I was so lucky unfortunately it wasn't a big problem but I know I'll definitely call them if I have more issues because they were friendly prompt courteous and definitely knew How to solve the problem!!!  And the price was great!! Thank you Avant Rooter!!!
