Norh is such a professional guy, he came for an estimate explained everything to us and then showed up for to the job on time, prepared, knowledge and with a great attitude!
We had a few outlets installed and a ceiling fan moved, he worked very throughly and took his time to do everything correctly and cleaned up after himself! He takes pride in his work which shows and his costumer service is wonderful.
That's how it should be all around 5 Stars!

Frank was prompt and very willing to work around my work schedule.  He and his assistant, John, were professional and friendly.  I will use them again!

These guys are the real deal.  Scott has a great team.  Very professional, clean, competitive etc.. did a rather large job with them on a remodel.  Very knowledgeable and great people to work with.  Already scheduled to bring them back for another project.

Immediate, no-nonsense service. I didn't even leave a message--Ken called me back just because his phone showed that someone had called. An hour later, he was at my house diagnosing my problem. Will definitely use again.

A Reliable Electrician

We had a long-standing problem with some puck lights. Michael Gordon from MPG Electric was the third electrician to look at these lights. He was the first one to look into every aspect of the situation. He found several technical problems with the original installation. Why the previous electricians missed the obvious, we'll never know. Michael fixed what he could with the spare parts we had lying around. Then he left with a list of replacement parts he would need to get the job done properly. A week or so later, he returned and put everything in order. For the first time, we have lights that work. I expect that they will continue to work for years in the future.

I was referred to Michael by Crest Lighting, a very reliable source. He is a properly licensed and insured electrician. He arrived on time, despite the difficult parking situation in Lincoln Park. When he finished, we were satisfied to the point that I gave Michael's business card to our property manager. We live in a 40 story high rise. A lot of us need electricians from time to time. I would recommend Michael Gordon to anyone who needs a reliable electrician

(On a personal note, I have to say that it really was a pleasure meeting this man. From the moment he walked through the door, we had a sense that things were going to go well. We were right.)

These guys are great. I had them install a Nest doorbell and outdoor camera. They were extremely respectful of my home and everything was done professionally and cleanly. Pricing was reasonable too.

Penco came out to replace our outdated fuse box with a new electrical panel.  The estimate was fair, the workers finished the job earlier then originally quoted and we will definitely call them for any future electrical work.

I had a problem with dimming/flickering lights and power surges that damaged several appliances/electronics so I called the electricity supplier company.  They sent someone out and then told me the problem wasn't on their end, it must be in my house and told me that I needed to call an electrician.  So I called Caval.  Their electrician came out to my house the next day and did a thorough inspection.  He determined that the problem was being caused by loose wire at the pole and not a problem in my house after all.  So I called the electric company again while he was still at my house and they tried to give me another run around.  The electrician kindly got on the phone with them and explained the problem so they could come out and fix it.  The electric company came out and fixed the wire the next day.  Thank you, Caval for going out of your way to help!  You're the best! I would totally recommend you.  5 Stars to you!!

I called about problems I having with a garage door opener. On the phone the dispatcher said they could send someone out for $49. A really nice guy showed up but immediately said he didn't know anything about garage doors. (???) he said he could do an inspection but it would cost $99. He took the switch off the wall and said he thought the circuit board was a problem but wasn't sure. I asked if it might be the box on the ceiling. He said he didn't know. He took the cover off and looked at it but really was sure. He now thought it might be the box & the circuit, maybe also the cable. I told him that I didn't feel that maybe this, maybe that was worth $99.

Long story short, we called his supervisor, spoke to Eddie who said I didn't have to pay anything. I told him I was willing to pay the $49 since someone did have to come out, but he said it was okay.

The problem seems to have with the dispatcher not sending the correctly trained technician and not with the technician. I appreciate Eddie not charging me. Hence the 3-start rating. I really can't say if their work is good or bad, but they seem fair.

I have been undergoing renovations in my new condo over the past couple of months.  I have reached out to The Good Guys on several occasions for help.  Chris always responds to me quickly and has been able to send out a crew every time.  The Good Guys are professional, knowledgeable, and always on time.  I look forward to working with them on an ongoing basis.

Very fair pricing and prompt, efficient service.  The owner, Tom Peck, is great to deal with.  He does a great job in a fast and efficient manner.

Carlos did a quick and great job. He texted me in advance to see if he needs to buy fixtures before he came, which not only saved time for we both but reduced the potential cost when I need to wait for him to get new ones.

Greg and Steve of Duplex Electric are great! I found a recommendation for them on next-door.com, and have since had them out to fix a few different issues. Both times I've called they have responded within hours to my voicemail messages and have come out that day or the next day. They first came out to replace a basement ceiling light. Through this they discovered that the switch was improperly wired. They explained clearly what the issue was, and fixed the switch and replaced the fixture quickly. The second time they came out to install two ceiling fixtures and to replace our kitchen outlets with GFCI outlets. Both times they explained to me clearly what the issues were, worked with safety precautions, arrived on time, and charged a reasonable amount. They are super professional, very knowledgeable, and on top of that were friendly with my crazy dogs - I will for sure call them the next time we need anything electrical fixed. We called for an electrical short that kept setting off the circuit breaker. After 4 days of dealing with another company that had a different story everyday. We called Sam and he solved our problem in a couple of hours for a reasonable price.
He knows his electricity very well.
I would recommend him for any electrical work needed.

I was drilling into the wall to install some shelves when the power to our condo went out completely. We called 4 or 5 different electric companies that said they provided emergency services and A to Z was the ONLY one that we were even able to talk to an electrician. The owner actually answered the call, and was able to walk us through finding and resetting the circuit breaker outside our unit, which, as he suspected, had been tripped. Lights came on and everything was fine. Someone was able to come out that week to check and make sure I didn't do serious damage. I would definitely recommend working with this company. They were very friendly, helpful and professional.
