I had purchased a new washer/dryer and was stressed out when I found that my electrical wasn't up to code. I called about 5 different guys, 2 didn't call back, one told me he'd have to make huge cuts in my ceiling to do the job, and one was going to take 3 weeks before they could come back.

Duplex Electric came out quickly, explained the process that they planned to use and scheduled a return appointment in a reasonable time frame. They were so friendly! They have top marks on Angie's List, and are also the electricians for St. John of the Cross Parish.

They did a great job on what I needed. There were two working together, so they worked efficiently, and they explained everything to me in detail so that there was no confusion (much appreciated). I felt confident hiring them, and they made the process stress-free. I also referred them to my parents who also had an excellent experience. I would recommend them to anyone!

With Duplex it's like having a family member helping you. These two brothers are seasoned electricians who work fast, do great work and clean up everything before they leave. Very friendly and outgoing guys who I trust entirely to be in my home. Especially if you have an older home these guys have the experience and skills to solve any electrical problem.

I was recommended to Duplex for my home electrical needs by a long-time friend who is an industrial electrician as the company my friend uses for his home needs. Greg and Steve at Duplex where terrific and fixed my complicated electrical issues in my old home. I was impressed with their practical approach, as they explained what was needed for life safety and what was an optional fix if I wanted to save money. They truly understand their craft and put customers first. They are also extremely reliable with scheduling, which can be rare in the repair and maintenance industry. I highly recommend Duplex.

I found Steve and Greg through a Moms of Western Springs FB group. We had a switch go out and there was an arc of electricity so I was concerned about fixing it as soon as possible. I called Monday night and they got out Tuesday morning and fixed the problem. Their response was remarkably fast and the quality of their work was exceptional. Thanks Steve and Greg!

We had a horrible experience with Duplex. We hired them to install a chandelier in our home in La Grange. They came out ahead of time to see the infrastructure and told me that it would be no problem. When they came for the actual installation, their tune immediately changed. All of a sudden, it was incredibly heavy and the most complicated fixture they had ever installed. They went back to get more equipment and charged me for all that time. When they finally did install it, it looked horrible and they left the electric wires flapping and made no effort to conceal them because they instructions did not say that. We had to throw the fixture in the garbage and buy a new one after they charged us $980!!! They charged us more than cost of the fixture! The new electrician who installed the second fixture only charged us $250 (inclusive of removing the old one) and said that it wasn't that heavy. Be careful with these guys. We got completely taken.

Greg and Steve of Duplex Electric are great! I found a recommendation for them on next-door.com, and have since had them out to fix a few different issues. Both times I've called they have responded within hours to my voicemail messages and have come out that day or the next day. They first came out to replace a basement ceiling light. Through this they discovered that the switch was improperly wired. They explained clearly what the issue was, and fixed the switch and replaced the fixture quickly. The second time they came out to install two ceiling fixtures and to replace our kitchen outlets with GFCI outlets. Both times they explained to me clearly what the issues were, worked with safety precautions, arrived on time, and charged a reasonable amount. They are super professional, very knowledgeable, and on top of that were friendly with my crazy dogs - I will for sure call them the next time we need anything electrical fixed. Thank you, Greg and Steve!
