Chris was AMAZING! He was super reliable and took such great care in my forever home. He has come back twice and each time he has exceeded my expectations and I've already given his info to many friends who could use some electrical work. He hung 3  huge chandeliers with care and even made one work that didn't come with the parts needed from the manufacturer. He then hung an additional 6 other lights and even changed all my lightbulbs so they matched in color!

He also came back and hung two tvs for me the second visit which I can assure you will not be his last!

Jake came by to install our ventilation fan and a new bathroom vanity. He was super friendly, quick, and reasonably priced. Highly recommend!

I had two little jobs that had been hanging around my neck for several months. Finally, with a 30 person event happening at my house that night, I submitted a work request with Fixer at 8:00 on a Monday morning. In a little more than an hour, Edgar arrived. He fixed my light fixture in minutes and the rubber gasket on a toilet in a little bit longer.

He arrived 15 minutes earlier than expected. Worked efficiently and was out of my door in close to an hour. Worth every dollar in my book.

Edward was awesome! He was very helpful and answered all of my questions. Very communicative! He and his team installed five pot lights and a second switch in our hallway. They did a wonderful job and was incredibly efficient. We love our new lights!

We came to Ryan with a maddening intermittent problem: electricity in parts of a house would turn itself off and then turn itself back on, some highly variable amount of time later.  Some times, hours later.  With this happening more than once a day, the house was basically unlivable.

Ryan was able to quickly track down the problem and, even though it was close to the end of a normal business day, he worked well past that to procure the replacement part and install it that same day.

It's been a week with no further incident, so I'm convinced he found the root cause, and I'm as happy as I can be.

Hi. New homeowner here. My husband and I bought a 1955 bungalow that was rocking some 60amp service and had a myriad of do-it-yourself projects done to it that rendered the home a bit of mess when it came to electrical. We had originally selected an electrician, but after receiving his quote decided to shop around a bit. Through a quick search on Yelp and Google (gotta check all the sources), Highlights came very well recommended. I can say that every positive recommendation is absolutely well-deserved. Their pricing was beyond fair and the team of Boz, Raul, Juve, and Ighor were genuinely kind and professional. They walked me through each item to be completed and gave guidance and suggestions when necessary.
The following items were completed and exceeded our expectations:
+Upgrade to 200amp service-including repositioning the entry point of our lines to furtherest corner of the house.
+Run 4 cat6 Ethernet cables to various points in the home
+Troubleshoot the basement light from hell
+Replace several 2 prong outlets to grounded, fix improperly installed, and added GFCI outlets
+2 weeks later when I blew two fuses doing something I shouldn't have been, they came out to rescue me within 24 hours. Special shout out to Raul for not scolding me and my handy work and then giving pointers about my electrical panel.

My final note here, and what has sealed the deal on being a forever customer with Highlights, is Kemal. I can't tell you the number of times I've called a contractor or business to never receive a phone call back or have short clipped answers from a stressed out contractor. That is absolutely NOT the case when you call Highlights. They get your information, limit the game of phone-tag, and communicate so effectively with you and each other. I don't save many business numbers in my phone, but I'm saving this one.

Steer Clear. This is not a legitimate electrical company. Gave me an estimate and did the electrical work for an EV charger in our condo building. Even though building management didn't request City of Chicago license initially, they checked for it later (it can be asked for at any time) and this company is not licensed in the City of Chicago and its illegal to do residential work without it. The job was done completely wrong and he almost blew the sump pump and electrical to entire building by connecting to a panel inexplicably and was told not to. Installed wiring that was bent and broken and taped together which could have caused shocks and burning. New contractor easily installed it - no bends or breaks. The wall outlet installed was open and exposed, and if water dripped to it could electrocute people. Sloppy, cut corners, dangerous, illegal and not up to code. Absolute garbage, rushed work. Refused to get City of Chicago license and come fix job. We will be pursuing our money back. This is an illegitimate electrical company. Avoid at all costs.

Addendum to review:

Right, I'm not an electrician , but here are couple facts that a real electrician should have known and done, that found out about your job.

You were told by the building engineer to use the 480/277 volt panel because 208/120 was already at the capacity.

You just plainly ignored that and proceeded with your version. Maybe you don't know the difference between two.

You ran 208/ 120 wires through 480/277 panel which was a huge code violation and a human life safety issue.

And that's not all:

Then you spliced those wires inside that panel multiple times -- code violation.

You then decided to use lightning contractor conduit to run the wires and overfill that conduit -- code violation.

You installed the breaker at the wrong panel (which was at capacity) so you overloaded that panel.

The wire was badly scraped

You removed pipe straps and made the electrical conduit loose -- code violation.

J boxes that you installed were unsecured and loose with knock outs missing -- code violation

I'm still waiting on the city of Chicago electrical registration paperwork  from you.

A qualified electrician would know right away that he is working with 480/277 volts and would have informed me that i needed a step down transformer in order for the EV charger to work!

On top things you have charged me over $2K for 2 J boxes and a roll of #6 wire, which costs $600 at the most. The piping was already 97% there , so what took you so long.

It took a qualified electrician a total of 8 hours to remove the faulty work and install everything from scratch including installing the transformer.

We'll happily accept a refund to settle this matter

Wow! We are so happy with our experience with Tweaks & Finishes.  Jose and Rodney were excellent communicators from start to finish. They listened to what we were hoping to achieve, gave their suggestions, worked speedily but with great precision, and made our place look fantastic!

We had everything from electrical to painting done in our condo, and it all looks and works spectacular. We will definitely be using their services again and HIGHLY recommend them!

Mike ( the owner ) was out to our new house today. We went over a long checklist of concerns we had because we don't know what is code for our town. He went through the whole list with me & put my mind at ease. Said we were in pretty good shape! We set up an appointment for him to come back out and start the work in a week or so.  We will fix whatever needs to be. Great!

Every business should operate like this.  Peter was friendly and attentive, and was able to schedule guys to come out the very next day.  The electricians he sent went to work immediately, and were done with the job in only 45 minutes.  They were the definition of professional.  I can't recommend them enough.
