I had a service call in to my home warranty group. Regarding an electrical issue regarding my dishwasher after it was determined it was not a regular appliance repair.  They let me know it would be Mr. MIGHTY that would be responding. Mr. Mighty called and gave me an appointment right away. Kept me informed of the technicians arrival time and a very slight delay in his expected time. It was well within the window they gave me so it really wasn't a delay.
The technician Eddie Morales came and was personable, professional and kept me informed of the assessed issues..showed me the problem. Provided my options and his recommendations. He actually taught me about safety issues and measures regarding my current very old circuitry. In layman's terms. Very knowledgeable.
He fixed everything ...and I will be contacting
Mr. MIGHTY for some other remodeling I am planning. Can't wait...really.
This company is credible and has a wonderful work ethic.keep up the excellent service!!

I sent a request through Yelp for a service appointment. I had some general questions and they rep was polite. I had a lot of questions about the service since I am a new homeowner.

The technician only took approximately 45 minutes to make it to my home. He was very polite and took the time to explain all of the details with the service. In total my service was $169 for travel and to clean a flame sensor. It is not bad in comparison to some of the other quotes I was given.

Both Eddie and Luis worked on my newly purchased house which had some electrical problems. I appreciated that safety was #1, all electrical outlets and fixtures and fuse box was checked, and all was explained to me. Everything now works, and system is safer, thanks very much!

Never received a receipt. Sent a text asking for a receipt and never got a response. Do yourself a favor and choose a vendor who will provide a receipt. ***Update *** received the receipt after this review was posted.

Consumers beware. Overcharging senior citizens and ripping them off. Was hired to fix one switch. One. Charged almost $300 just for diagnosing? That didn't even include fixing what he was hired to do

There are definitely reputable electricians in the area. If you're reading this please look for another company

I was having my new office fitted out and at the last minute realized I had not arranged for an electrician to connect the desks cable to the main outlet (a 1 hour job).  After calling around I was struggling to find anyone that could do same day.  After contacting Mr Mighty Electric, they had an electrician on site within 3 hours and he completed the work efficiently and effectively.  The gent was polite, organised and cleaned up spotlessly.  I paid for the time he was here, so considering it was last minute, I was extremely happy.

Good job, but expensive.

I had 3 pendant light fixtures changed, and a couple of wall outlet covers replaced, all of which took about 1 hrs work and was charged $500. He was coaching his son through the installation so he could get experience.

After observing how easily light fixtures are exchanged, I wish I had more DIY saavy and saved money. Definately buyers remorse.

Ricks polite questioning about how much my Gold Coast condo HOA fee and how much the light pendants cost were inappropriate.

Bottom line. Don't hire them for an easy job. It's overpriced. Hire a handyman at a lower rate.

If you need something done in a timely manner, than you should choose a different company.

I called these guys for a quote to correct some electrical violations in my building. They sent someone out who looked everything over, then pulled out this chart of inflated prices for simple jobs. A few violations were going to cost me over $6000 according to this guy and his pricing guide. Needless to say I was in shock after hearing/seeing this, and was told that by the end of the day I would receive by email an actual detailed estimate for all of the work to be done.

Fast forward 3 days and I still had not received an email or any follow up. I proceeded to email them and asked what was going on and when I could expect an actual detailed estimate. Shortly thereafter I received a phone call by a young gentleman that informed me that the worker that was sent out to my house had quit and took all of my info with them, and that another technician was going to come out to reassess the work that was needed.

A day or 2 later a young gentleman came out and did a walk through, taking pictures along the way. He went over the violation list and also informed me of other things that the inspector might not approve of. We eventually agreed that they would send me 2 different estimates, one for just the things one the violation report and one for all of the work that they felt should have been done in order to pass. I informed them that money was tight and that I only wanted to fix what was on the list and nothing more, and that if the inspector said anything about the other stuff I would then get it taken care of, but was not interested in paying to fix anything proactively when the inspector may just pass it anyways. I was told I should be receiving an estimate by email shortly. 3 days later still nothing in my inbox, but I receive a phone call from the young guy who told me that the whole building basically needs to be rewired and that it would cost over $20,000, and that he was still trying to get all the figures right. Getting a little annoyed with the time it takes for this company to get me an actual final price for the project at this point, after 2 guys were already sent out and it had been about 10 days with them doing nothing but trying to prime me for a high total.

I then get Informed that the young gentleman who came out was just an office nerd who really had no experience in the field and that a third technician would be sent out. Since I was only charged one time for a dispatch fee, I figured what could it hurt, so we scheduled for  a day later. When this guy came out he informed me that he was the actual licensed electrician of the company and that he would go over everything again to see if he could save me any money, because there was a lot of work that was needed and the price was really high, so maybe he could spot some things that didn't really need to be done. He went over everything and then informed me that I would definitely recieve a quote by the end of the weekend. He also informed me that getting 2 different estimates was out of the question at this point, and that there would only be one price.

2 days later I receive an estimate with incorrect totals(they didn't do their math right). I informed them that I would just make the corrections myself, but still this amateur mistake could have been avoided simply by a simple 2nd glance of the estimate. 2 Days later I receive an email with the correct totals and an apology. The corrected totals were $14,000 or $18,000 depending on whether or not the inspector said I needed a third breaker box. I told them that I was not happy with the way they conduct business and that my review would reflect my opinion. They apologized and said they would refund my $49 dispatch fee. That was 2 weeks ago and I still have not received a check in the mail, nor a response on when I could expect it.

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a contractor. Their response time is horrible, 3 technicians and 2 weeks to get a written estimate with correct totals is unacceptable, their prices are seriously inflated, their office workers cannot do simple math and they lied about refunding me the dispatch fee.

Absolutely terrible company to deal with. They give prices that only the rich could afford.

I hired a different company who will just focus on what was on the violation list and who is not trying to sell me the rewiring of my entire building as most of the things could just be grandfathered in.

We had a very good experience with Rick from Mr. Mighty. He was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and polite. He thought ahead about what we might need with our fan installation and told us what questions to ask the light shop before we bought the fan/light. He was always on time and wore shoe covers when working in our house, which was thoughtful. On his way out he asked if he could see the make/model of our fuse box to note it for any future calls. We would definitely call him for future jobs.

Update: We did call Mr. Mighty again to have another fan/light installed in a different room. Rick was no longer with the company, but Frank and Ed did an equally fantastic job! Thank you very much!

Prompt, professional, reasonable.
We had our electric completely out due to damage to the supply line on the outside of our building. They came right out. Since I was sort of desperate, I thought the estimator was going to stick it to me, so I was ready  to pay a premium, but I was pleasantly surprised to see the fees were quoted from a laminated schedule - and they were reasonable. The work was completed professionally and promptly, including great coordination with Com-Ed. Also great email notifications.

Truly could not be more pleased. During my initial call the operator gave me instructions on how to find which breaker to turn off (the outlet was hot, smelled like it was burning and was buzzing!!! Yikes) before I even made an appointment for them to come out!

Eddie immediately found water in my socket and went above and beyond by looking for (and finding!) the source of a small leak in the bathroom upstairs. He took off the defective outlet & capped the wires. Suggested we run a fan on it for a few days and replace the GFCI.

I initially called at 10:45 and by 1 pm was completely done! I'm so relieved. He went above and beyond and I will absolutely use them again.

I called about problems I having with a garage door opener. On the phone the dispatcher said they could send someone out for $49. A really nice guy showed up but immediately said he didn't know anything about garage doors. (???) he said he could do an inspection but it would cost $99. He took the switch off the wall and said he thought the circuit board was a problem but wasn't sure. I asked if it might be the box on the ceiling. He said he didn't know. He took the cover off and looked at it but really was sure. He now thought it might be the box & the circuit, maybe also the cable. I told him that I didn't feel that maybe this, maybe that was worth $99.

Long story short, we called his supervisor, spoke to Eddie who said I didn't have to pay anything. I told him I was willing to pay the $49 since someone did have to come out, but he said it was okay.

The problem seems to have with the dispatcher not sending the correctly trained technician and not with the technician. I appreciate Eddie not charging me. Hence the 3-start rating. I really can't say if their work is good or bad, but they seem fair.

The technician was great, BUT they have hidden fees and their price list is highway robbery. They charged $49 just to walk in my Door, then another $225 JUST to diagnose and tell me what's wrong, and finally $403 to replace a $25 breaker. The diagnosing fee doesn't even go toward a repair...it's a compounding fee schedule.  THEY WANTED $677 TO METER TEST AND REPLACE A $25 PART. A 15min JOB! Do yourself a favor and get an electrician that will give you a FREE estimate!!!

Eddie Morales  the Supervising Electrician was very professional. He was polite . Mr Mighty Electric upgraded my brakes box put in some new lines and added a ground line for the whole building. They' did excellent work . They cleaned up and came well equipped.  They ordered a permit and make sure the City of Chicago Inspector came out to inspect their work and sign off for work well done.

On top of all this excellent work their prices were very reasonable.

I will continue to do repeat business with Mr Mighty Electric

Job done, but expensive
We had some flickering lights at all hours of the day, so we called mr. mighty.
They got someone out here quickly, which was nice.  
The first day it cost 369 bucks to come out and inspect our panel and the service disconnects and the meter box - about 45 minutes or so.
We scheduled saturday to replace the disconnects for the two units. He didn't show up and called an hour afterwards apologizing.  Re-scheduled for later the next week.  and he replaced them - 550 dollars.
He noticed the voltage wasn't right, so he called comed because he thought there was a problem with the incoming neutral.  Comed came out and said the busbars in the meter box needed to be replaced.  Our appliances were starting to fail because of the bad neutral, so i called them back and said come take care of it.  842 dollars.

The job was completed, but I wish he had acted on the meter box that first day after seeing such corrosion. Probably could have saved 550 bucks

Not happy at all with the service.  Tech came out and inflated the problems I was asking him to fix. charged over $300 for a short inspection plus $49 service call.  Emailed a ridiculous proposal for work. When I called to ask about it he came back and no solution was agreed upon. I asked if he job could be done a little cheaper and they never called back to discuss. Forget it.

The company was very prompt, gave me an accurate time frame at which they could come out.  The serviceman was very professional, let me know exactly what was wrong, and fixed it quickly.  Even called the next day to ensure that everything was working properly.  Great service, all around great experience.

I have just had two fantastic experiences with Mr. mighty, specifically with Rick. On our first appointment he installed a new light fixture in my daughters room and changed the location of a light switch panel in our master. He did both jobs successfully and efficiently. He was on time, polite, clean, prepared, and communicative. He was also personable, chatting with my curious children and indulging my puppy with a belly rub. I loved the fact that there was a pricing guide for everything he did. No gray area when figuring out the cost of every step of the process.

The second visit was to install a new bathroom fixture and ceiling fan in the master. He discovered that the new fan I had just purchased had a faulty wire that wasn't connecting to the lighting element properly. After a bit of back and forth with the retailer I purchased the fan from, I was able to get the parts he needed to replace. And he came back when it was convenient for ME on the SAME day to install the parts and get my new fan up and running. Have you ever?!  Awesome.

Mr. Mighty and Rick, their rockstar electrician, define customer service and I will  continue to use them going forward with all of my electrical needs. I give them my highest recommendation.

I've used their services twice in the last 5 years.  They are friendly, give you a reasonable quote and time frame.  They do their work quickly and clean up after themselves. You couldn't deal with more professional people who also are just nice people.  I highly recommend them

I contacted Mr. Mighty to do some electrical work in a older 2-flat.  There were 2-outlets, and 3 light fixtures that had slowing been burning out over the course  of 7 years and it was time to get it all fixed.
Calling in and reserving an appt. was really easily.  The staff was friendly and it was easy to set up the appt.  The electrician showed up about 20-min late, but not too bad.    He was extremely nice, tidy and wore booties in our house.  He explained all the work he was doing before starting work.   We had initially reserved a 2-hour time-slot, so unfortunately all the work couldn't be completed in the first visit.  A 2nd appt. was set up with the electrician for the following day.  He showed up on-time for the 2nd appt, and finished the work.
Generally I am pretty happy with the service.  My only ding for not giving 5-stars is that the rates were pretty high.  The work isn't exactly serviced hourly and it's a bit hard to determine why certain tasks are charged the way they are.  But for solid work, a tidy work ethic, and easy of setting appointment, Mr. Might it a solid option.

These guys are great - honest, fast and fairly priced.  I used them three times, once to fix the AC (diagnosed as needing freeon), the second time to replace a used part on the AC and third to fix the furnance.  All three times the technician told me about the diagnostic fee of $89 (not sure why the other reviewers were charged $266) ahead of time and the cost to replace the part.  He was honest and showed me the faulty parts and explained why they were faulty.  I never felt pressured to fix anything additional. I will use these guys again and recommend them to friends.

Here's what you get when you call Mr. Mighty: a live person who answers the phone! Seriously, getting an electrician to return your calls these days is tough. But I called Mr. Mighty and got an appointment scheduled for the next day. My project was not an emergency. Rockstar Rick and his henchman showed up right on time (and called 15 minutes ahead to let me know they were on their way). I had a small job, involving fishing some wires between the basement and first floor. This was done quickly and professionally. They cleaned up after themselves. They were both great. Now the downside? These folks are expensive!!! They charged me $49 for the assessment (which was fine). But the rates for their work are high. But, as they say, you get what you pay for. I would certainly call them again, especially if I had an emergency or a complicated job.

Prompt service, Eddie was even early, and got right down to business, I have had no lights in the main living area for a week now, and it has been a pain.  Eddie checked everything, wall sockets, lights, inside and out and in a short time figured out the issue.  He explained everything and what happened and showed me everything.  Needless to say he did a great job and I would recommend this business to everyone I know.  ps.  I don't mind paying for someone who knows his stuff.  Great Job and thank you very much!!!!!

When a tree fell on our garage, ComEd cut power to our house and two of our neighbors.  We called Mr. Mighty at 6:45am and they were at our doorstep at 8, going to work shortly thereafter.  They even moved our backyard electrical to someplace more aesthetically pleasing.  Great service!

After messing up hanging my ceiling fan, I had to call in the pros. I called a million electricians and Mr. Mighty was the only one that even answered their phone!!  They came that day and fixed everything perfectly. They also did a quick diagnostic of my whole unit, which was good to know of other problems. Not cheap, but what can you do when dealing with electricity?

Oscar came out to my store to fix a bad outlet, after several of my other regular electricians couldn't make it.  He was on time, called to let me know when he was on his way, was extremely polite and helpful, and explained everything to me and why he was doing it.  He also went above and beyond by helping me identify which breakers went with which part of my store, so should I need to switch one I know which is which.  I needed to get up and running as soon as possible in order to do business on a busy Saturday, and Mr. Mighty helped me do it!

I would definitely call them again if anything else goes wrong.

I highly recommend Mr. Mighty. I called and they came out that same day - not because it was an emergency or priced as such - they came out because they could and so they did! And once here, Rick fixed my electricity and light hanging issues to my complete satisfaction...educating me along the way, too. These guys really know their stuff...and are courteous, friendly, accommodating, professional and reasonably priced. I will always call them when the needs arises.

We were having a problem with a breaker tripping and our regular electrician was out of town.  I was told the service call would be $49 plus parts.  Eddie came out and said it would be $266 to diagnose the problem which consisted of him feeling outlets to see if they felt warm.  He was not able to find a problem and I had to pay $266.  My regular electrician came out and was able to locate and correct the problem immediately.  Thanks for nothing Mr. Mighty!

Had them come out to diagnose a problem with a 240v plug.   I told the tech it was the breaker, which he changed and now the plug works fine.  The issue I have is the pricing.   I am ok with the $49 service call. I am not ok with the additional $266 to change the breaker.    Not sure a 10x markup on a $20 part is really fair, but I needed the work done.  The tech did a nice job, he doesn't set the prices so not his fault.  Only use these guys if you are in a bind.

Called these guys because there were some circuit issues with one of my units.  Oscar was one of the most professional and trustworthy electricians I've ever come across.  The problem was pretty complicated but Oscar walked me through the process, came back with his supervisor so they could accurately diagnose the problem and then had it done within an hour.  The prices are very reasonable as well!

Oscar was amazing.  My lights went out on the top floor of my two flat building.  The house is wired very odd with bsmt, first and second connecting in many weird areas.  The house is also over 100 years old so Oscar had a task ahead.  He has been here three times total and the price was very reasonable for the work done.  He was always on time and professional and cleaned up things he didnt even have to like the ceiling fan before putting it back up.  Thoroughly impressed.  His knowledge of older wiring and the ability to troubleshoot it was top notch!  Also Junior who answered all my calls and emails was very professional and even followed up with me over the weekend off hours.  I appreciated the entire service and will be using them again for projects big and small.

Mr. Might charged me $250 to inspect my track lighting. (Which only half of which would light up.) This inspection led to the discovery that the track lighting didn't work. (Thank you Mr. Mighty.) They then informed me that I could go to Lowes and buy the part myself OR they could charge me an additional $80 to install it, no thank you.

Eddie with Mighty came to the rescue on a recent project I installed (I am a designer). My scheduled electrician was a no-show and the install almost didn't happen. I was frantic. I spoke to Jennifer on the phone who was amazing and got me in touch with Eddie within minutes. An hour later, Eddie arrived and got started on the fixtures. Not only was Mighty quick to respond but the work was flawless. Eddie is extremely knowledgable and a quick/resourceful thinker. As a designer, these qualities are priceless. I'm looking forward to working with Eddie & Mighty again soon!

Eddie helped me install some z-wave 3 way switches.  What a lifesaver-- those things don't play well with LED floodlights we found out.  We got it working eventually.  Very professional would use Eddie for any electric job!!
