I had a great experience with Peter and A1 Construction. I needed some last minute home repairs (local floor sanding, customizing a shower curtain rod for a unique shower shape). Peter got everything done perfectly and was great to coordinate and schedule with. His work is high quality. Highly recommend.

Dorjan Ceraj is very responsible and arrived on time. He did a wonderful job and highly recommend him. He made sure to clean up after completing his work.

Third time using Continental Plumbing and Heating and it doesn't get any better. They replaced a steam boiler and their skilled level is unbelievable. The Inspecter from Newark even commented how well they did installing the boiler. They are professional throughout the entire process and always dependable. We needed to have our heat and air replaced, as well as a new water heater. We wanted to go tankless. Jay came out and inspected our basement and sent estimates that day. Unfortunately, it was too expensive for us to go tankless. Before we made that final decision, however, our water heater tank burst and flooded our basement. Jay sent a team out immediately and we had a new water heater within the day. Later that month, they also installed our new heat/cool system. Now we pay about $200 less a month in gas bills, thanks to our new system. I recommend these folks. They know what they are doing. Meanwhile our neighbor, who went with another company, is still trying to get their generator installed after more than a year! Go with All Day.

I requested a window AC installation service and received a prompt response within a few hours. Two professionals arrived at the agreed-upon time and took care of everything without my intervention. They removed my old AC unit, installed the new one, and even cleaned up after themselves. The entire process took approximately 30 minutes, and they also took away the old AC unit, relieving me of the responsibility of disposing of it.

I moved into a condo in Williamsburg, that needed a ton of odd-jobs completed. Michael came quickly to my aid, and completed everything from hanging things on walls, to plumbing and electrical issues. He provided his COI to the building, which was required and couldn't be a nicer guy!  I will be calling again for any task!

Excellent service. Steve really knows his stuff and acts with integrity and honesty. I know people who have been turning to him for over 10 years. He's a good guy and does a thorough job. Best plumber I've encountered.

These guys are awesome I called them last minute and they were able to accommodate me the next day they showed up with everything they needed included with a great price on a 24000 BTU ac. Can't wait for it to get hot out so I can turn my huge apt in to a walk in cooler.

The business claims that furnace was full of water and had not been regularly serviced. False: The furnace was twelve months old - so no service issues - and the cause of the issue (when a qualified technician looked at it) was a defective control board that the manufacturer eventually replaced under warranty. Basically, the Infinite technician - who was a nice enough guy - wasn't able to diagnose the issue and charged me for something unnecessary.

A word of advice to the business: When you don't do a good job, please don't invent facts.

Yes, a real 5-star review. Harry really is as good as people say. I needed a ceiling fan installed, and some tiles repaired in the bathroom. Harry came, quickly assessed the situation, laid out what the work entailed and provided a price. Followed up in a couple of hours with a formal quote, that laid out all the work that would be done (in detail, down to the painting, patching, grouting, everything - that way everyone knows what is getting paid for). He worked with my co-op board to get insurance paperwork taken care of, lead-paint riders, everything. I will be there at 9am on Monday. And 9am on Monday he is there, I go off to work, throughout the job he's in touch with me to let me know what's happening and with any questions.

Now here's the bit that really makes him great: the fan had a defective motor controller. He called the manufacturer and they shipped a new one. I'm thinking, Great, so now I have to pay for the electrician to come back. Nope - the new part came, the electrician came and fitted it. Didn't work. Ordered a new part. The electrician came again, fitted it, now it works. That's an additional 3 hours of work that I'm not charged for - Harry is a guy who takes the view that the job is done when it's done, and not before.

I would recommend him to anyone who needs a contractor - is he the cheapest? Probably not. But in this business you get what you pay for. And honestly, I would rather pay 10-20% more for a guy who I know does good work (I mean, he painted the whole ceiling after he installed the fan, I didn't want the patch to look different from the rest of the ceiling,), comes when he says, cleans up after himself, is polite, organised, and communicates. The lady in his office, Adrianna, is incredible - she is On The Case, she responds to emails quickly, you're never left thinking the guy's got my 50% deposit, is that the last I'm going to see of him?

Put it this way - I'm already thinking of more work that I can have done so I can get his guy's back here. You will not be sorry if you hire him.

Our sink pipe cracked on Christmas Eve and PS&D was very responsive and had a team out very quickly. They replaced the pipe and associated fixtures quickly and thoroughly.

Had them install new boiler They put circulator in wrong called 4 times to correct.Has left my basement without heat for 2months. Basement is finished and is my daughters bedroom .Do not  use

Have called Arch Plumbing twice now.  The first time for a major shower repair,; second time a clogged line and leaking pipes in my kitchen.  They spotted the problem(s) quickly, repaired, cleaned up (spotlessly) with extremely reasonable charge.  No recurring problems.

Got the referral from my local plumbing supply store.  Guess that was a good sign.

Let me start this review by empathizing with John S. and David A.

They are very curt on the phone.  True.
They take a long time to get to you True.  

They were also my only option and it worked out ok for me.  I did have to wait for about 3 hours for them to get to my place.  I called a few times and got a run around.  Understand that I had no choice, my bathtub would not drain at all.  Yuck.

When they got to my place, the plumbers were very nice and apologized for being so late.  They also got right to work.  It turned out to be a big problem and they investigated it fully.  They saw that it was turning into a building-wide issue and they stopped and got the super of my building.  They helped me itemize the bill so that I wouldn't be stuck holding the bag for common charges.  They tried everything they could (it is a much bigger problem).  

For that consideration, I give them 3 Stars.  I probably would have been harsher on them but, so many places around me either (a) no longer in business or (b) not answering their phones.

After coming back to redo a repair on a simple shower valve stem we were told they needed to tear down a wall. Building super intervened and stopped that nonsense.

Rescheduled and fixed problem ... For a few weeks. Oh, we didn't pay?? ... oh, you do have our credit card. Hmmm, put it through like we told you when we gave it to you. Ah, good. Reschedule. And no show. Reschedule. And no show. 3rd time they called (half hour after the 3 hour appointment time slot) and said ... wait for it ... Have to reschedule.

Do they only work with the unemployed who have nothing to do but hang around waiting for them?  Jeeze I couldn't recommend this place if your pipes burst and they were moored in the hallway with an Ark.

I tried to make an appointment they told me 1230pm I said ok great....its almost 5pm and I have called and left messages and never even received a courtesy call they are running late or not showing up.very unprofessional and wouldn't wish service like this to anyone.

Call these people if you want to get completely ripped off.
My tenant has called Roto Rooter because dishwasher didn't drain water, and the water was leaking.  The fix on the invoice was kitchen sink drain stopper clean.  Three trips.  Replaced the 2 Elbow waste pipe for kitchen.  For this, they have charged her $200 for parts and $732 for labor.  First, an elbow pipe cost $20 max, so that should have been $40 at most.  The job lasted an hour and 20 min, counting the time he had gone to park his car and to retrieve tools, which was treated as three trips on the invoice.  My tenant is a young woman with no knowledge of plumbing and has signed off on this without checking with me first.  When I called them, and spoke with the manager on this blatant abuse of pricing, his response was that this is their price and the tenant was willing to pay this.  Yes, I understand that they are free to quote whatever price they want to, and it was my tenant's own fault to get ripped off for not checking with other companies.  However, it is completely dishonest to take advantage of someone just because they didn't know what the going rate is for the type of service performed.  This job should not have cost more than $400 by a licensed plumber, and I'm counting higher because it is NYC.  For a similar job, I have paid $200 elsewhere.
I'm giving them 1 star because at least, the job was done correctly and the problem is solved. But Roto Rooter is never getting my business again.
