VETSBuilt Contracting Deck & Railing Contractor
We needed the wall above our shower tiled because the plaster walls were chipping and molding. We also needed the outside block wall of our house repaired after some plumbing demolition. I got two estimates, and VetsBuilt was a little lower. We had to schedule the work a couple weeks out because they were so busy, but they did the work in one day and it is beautiful. They did exactly what I asked for and it turned out better than I expected it to, honestly. Also, the crew doing the work was really pleasant, friendly and professional.

I didn't like that I had to go buy the tile and grout myself for the job, but it may have been cheaper than having the contractor do the shopping for me. Overall, I'm very happy with the work they did and recommend them!

Andy is the best. I have two homes and he has worked on both of them. There is nothing he can't do,from the simplest to the most difficult renovation.  He treats your home as if it was his, very tidy, always on time, and besides that he is a nice guy who you can trust.  I would highly recommend him!

Kangaroo Pools Deck & Railing Contractor
Hired Kangaroo Pools to install pool automation system. The process was not the greatest experience but it was not the worse either. To start, communication was in question as getting a hold of them is hard and the return time expect 24 to 48 hours even if they just called you or emailed you 1 minute before. After communication issues, I still decided to go with them and have them complete the work. They ask you to send photos of the system and give you a quote. They then give you a recommendation of what you need which is great. After a little back and forth my wife and I settle on what system to go with. At this time I am asking questions and making comments of what I need for my system and making sure the estimate includes everything and is within our budget. I told them we needed 3 actuators and they told me no you need 2. I repeated and told them again I need 3 based on my system and based off what was told to me by the pool builder. They said two will work and you will not encounter any surprises cost. I agreed and sent payment to get scheduled. You would think they would call and let you know a date and time if when is good for the customer? Not in this situation, I got a call from the installer saying he was on his way and will be there in 30 minutes. Luckily we were able to get the dogs locked up and let him work that day. A good thing Vanessa did was call and leave a message apologizing for what happened. I appreciated that taking accountability. So that was great. They installed the system and to my surprise I get hit with $120 charge for electrical whip which I could have ordered online $25 if they needed that and I still have wires going all over the place. But the kicker was the installer telling me we were good to go. Had he tested all the stuff he installed he would have realized it was not working correcting. Needed to get that 3rd actuator that they said we didn't needed. Another $250 and they charged me an install fee at that. But said they normally would charge $120 but charged $40 because of the situation. The situation that could have been avoided. Needless to say I feel nickeled and dime and it left a sour taste in my mouth. One thing I can say is they are very friendly and easy to work with for the most part. They try and fix the issues when they come up but could have all be avoided. I'm not made about paying for the service or equipment. I am upset because I was not told these prices up front which went over our intended budget. I'm also frustrated at the fact they charged be $120 for electrical whip that cost $22 on Amazon or Home Depot and tried to sale me on the face they normally charge $75 per for it. But even with that the $40 charge for the extra labor really pissed me off the most. I spent a lot of money for this system and to have this many issues with communication and service you would have thought it would have been. Hey sir we know it's been a rough go. We are just going to charge you for the parts.

No hard feelings the system is working. My wife and I hide all the cords that they left exposed. So from that stand point we are happy. No trying to bash. This company just giving an honest experience and you mark your choice. I do truly think they are a company that is trying to be great and just fell short for me but over all not a horrible experience.

J & A Framing and More Deck & Railing Contractor
We had a complicated situation.  They came in and easily solved it for an affordable price.  Looks amazing. Our patio pillars were sinking due to wood rot underneath.  They raised the roof above, replaced the wood, reinforced the floor, fixed the tile afterwards.  They made a hard job look easy.  I highly recommend them!

Dynamite Deck & Railing Contractor
We had Vlad check out a wall in our home as a pre-purchase due diligence. He showed up to the appointment on time and was able to provide an estimate by the end of the next business day. His estimate report was less than ideal as he was unable to provide a breakdown of his pricing. His estimate was much more than expected because he wanted to cut into other walls. We did ask him to look at a ceiling, so I understand why he was providing information on that. After a slow process in trying to have him break down the pricing, he was able to give use an estimate on just the wall we needed repaired. We paid a $125 estimate fee in which we were advised that this could be applied to the wall repair when we were ready for it. Come a couple of weeks later and we are ready to fix the wall following purchase, Vlad has been non-responsive and not returned any of our efforts via phone call or text message. This lapse in communication is a serious red flag and I will not let someone that cannot even follow up with communication work on my house.  He was fairly responsive during our initial inquire, however now that we want the work done, we feel totally ghosted. Perhaps the job is too small for him to even bother? That's fine...just SAY SO. I even gave him a chance by reaching out via yelp before I wrote this review. He responded, but it was a very non commital response. If you can reply via yelp, why cant you call us back??

I am not one to write a poor review...so this is more so a cautionary tale for others. We are first time home buyers and wish that we had done a little more research about general contractors before moving forward with this company.

United Paint and Stain Deck & Railing Contractor
On the east shore of Tahoe, it's difficult to find contractors willing to drive so far to even give us quotes for work needed. Rob was prompt, thorough, and FABULOUS!! His bid was prompt, and the work his crew does is exemplary. They know what a job well done is! They handled every detail, performed great work on our deck and house, and cleaned up completely. We have nothing but accolades for United Paint & Stain!!! Rob does business the way it used to be in the old days. What a work ethic and customer service guy!! Thanks Rob!!!!

One Stop Woodworks Deck & Railing Contractor
One Stop Woodworks is one of the best companies I've ever used for home services. They were able to complete a full staircase transformation in 3 days, and I couldn't be happier with my gorgeous new staircase! I cannot overstate the level of professionalism the team displayed throughout the project. They were punctual, courteous, and professional from the initial quote appointment all way through the end of the project. Each day, they informed me of the progress and thoroughly cleaned up before leaving. The pricing was fair, especially for the level of master craftsmanship to build a custom staircase. I really appreciated how they used specific balusters and zip clip shoes that I wanted, even though the parts required a little more work to install. They also provided guidance for the design of the newel posts, handrail, and wood stain. That was so helpful, because I had ideas about what I wanted but wasn't sure what would look good in my space. I only wish I had more projects for One Stop Woodwork - I would absolutely use their services again without hesitation!

Copper Sky Concrete Deck & Railing Contractor
My wife and I decided it was time to have our pool deck resurfaced, (approximately 600 sq ft deck), so we solicited bids from 5 different local companies, including the  pool manufacturer who originally installed the pool in 1979. (See my separate review for that  company). From moment we first contacted Daniel Baeza with Copper Sky Concrete, he was completely attentive and engaged with us as we outlined the project work scope.

Of the 5 bids, three of them were very competitive, as they were literally within dollars of each other, had similar timeframes on the project completion time, and all offered a 2 year warranty on the pool deck resurface. But my wife and I both agreed that we should go with Copper Sky for the job.

Daniel was very attentive to my follow up questions, as I contacted him several times during the selection process, as well as in preparation for the commencement, starting, during, and after completion of the project. I can't say enough about his genuine consideration and professionalism that he displayed to us.

The work was started exactly on time, and was actually completed a day ahead of schedule. (We were told 3-4 days and the work was actually completed in 2 days, with the crew returning on the morning of the 3rd day to remove the protective cover from the pool and clean-up the entire work area).

The quality of the pool deck resurfacing was all that we could have asked for, and we are very pleased with the product. I would highly recommend Daniel Baeza and Copper Sky Concrete for your pool deck resurfacing project, or any other project that this company contracts to do for you. (Be sure and tell them you read my review on Yelp!)

Thank you Daniel Baeza!

Cool Blue Pool Service Deck & Railing Contractor
Shane, the owner, was fabulous to work with. He arrived on time, scheduled us right away and his workers were fabulous. They resurfaced old, painted pool decking and did an amazing job. We are going to use him again to drain the water and acid wash it now because we just moved in and have no idea how old the water is. I would highly recommend him.

Asked for an estimate for a guest bathroom. They were kind and efficient when they came over answered all our questions andsaid they would send us an estimate by the end of the week. Two weeks later I reached out, they said they were behind on their estimates. Never heard from them again. It was a shame we loved their ideas, their dynamic and their suggestions.
