Best General Contractors in Phoenix, AZ

We called George at Contessa Stone to come give us a quote for a new fireplace mantle and overmantle. He came and looked at the fireplace we had and worked with us on a design that both my wife and I loved. He gave us a timeframe for the stone delivery and the installation and Mario who did the installation of the Stone was really great. He truly cared about the work and took his time to make sure it was done right. The whole process was really smooth and any small issues were resolved very quickly. I would definitely recommend George, Mario and Contessa Stone to anyone.

I've known Tim Mullooly for over 10 years. He built the patio I designed in the picture above for a good friend of mine. In 2009, Mullooly Construction remodeled our house inside while we lived here. He phased the work. Performed very well, and coordinated his subcontractors well. I recommended Tim to several other friends and he did a great job for them too. I even recommended him for a remodel of a rental house our church owns. A couple years ago I hired him to oversee the replacement of our old windows. Tim is honest, completely trustworthy and does quality work. My background was in commercial construction so I know quality when I see it.

How often do people have nice things to say about their contractor?  Luke at Vista General is amazing.  

This is the second time I've used his company in a major remodel and I'm just as happy as ever.  What's more, I've referred other people to hire Luke and they too sign his praises and, I'm told, are hiring him for more work.

We had Lollis add some custom doors onto our office/den. They were great to work with. Very friendly and professional and did just what we wanted. I highly recommend them for most any work you need done in your home!

So far, Joel has done both my bathrooms and they are amazing! He and his team are always on time and the jobs were done quickly! Next up is my kitchen and I can't wait to see the end result. Joel even went with me to look at tile, etc, as I had no idea what I was doing. I highly recommend them!

These guys are awesome! They did a great job remodeling my office! I highly recommend them for everything!

Larry and Joe showed up precisely on time to replace 24 fire sprinkler heads that had been recalled over 20 years ago and not replaced by the previous owner. These two moved through deliberately, carefully and professionally.  After they left, you would never know they had been here except for the new sprinkler heads. They answered every question we had, cleaned as they went and kept us updated throughout. Cost was incredibly reasonable. I am not certain five stars is a high enough rating!

Stan did a great job with putting up our Courtyard lights. Had a great sense of what we wanted he was knowledgeable and professional. I'll hire for anything I need done home improvement wise.

Let me just start at the top because that is what they did. First Don the owner of the company came out and spoke to my wife and I. He was very professional and extremely knowledgeable. He also has a great inviting personality. He offered lots of great ideas while listening to all input of what my wife and I wanted.

Next the real boss Lori who is Dons wife came out. She followed up with making sure all the T's were crossed and all the I's were dotted as they say. She is great at communicating and coordinating everything . She also has a great inviting personality.

Heather who was the field manager and direct contact person for us did an excellent job of keeping things on track. If things did not go the way my wife and I wanted she was right there to make sure things were taken care of to the satisfaction of my wife and I. We were always able to reach out to both Lori and Heather and they get right back to us.

We also like that they are open to suggestions and want to know if there are any areas of concern so that they can address the employees to make sure moving forward that the area of concern is not something that will happen again. They truly aim to please.

Now as far as the craftsmanship. All we can say is WOW, WOW, WOW!

We would highly recommend Levelup to anyone who is looking to have any kind of remodeling or contracting work done! And we would definitely not hesitate to use them again on any project we may have in the future!

I really can't say enough about Gaio Contracting. I was lucky to have them install my kitchen. The owner/Rick is very hands on & a perfectionist of installations. Very kind & knowledgeable on how to keep the supply & demand moving. His wife also just as kind & nice. Old school pleasantries & speaking to you not at you. Recommend highly, even over some big box companies.

I hired W. C. Ahl to improve my kitchen lighting. They advised me on my options to get the best result for my project and provided very helpful suggestions. They already had kitchen lights much better than what I had found on my own. They came when they said and cleaned up afterward. They did a beautiful job, which comes with a lifetime guarantee. I am very pleased with the results. Even though this was a small project for a general contractor, they gave it their full attention. They came very highly recommended and now I would very highly recommend them as well.

Total remodel of two story home (which included removing and laying new tile and hardwood stairs on both floors, added additional lighting throughout house, removed and added new doors throughout house, removed old wall paper and repainted every room (including ceilings), extended patio deck and handled all permitting through the city, installed new ceiling fans, prewired electrical for new TV's and bar area.

Most important, this was a very honest and trustworthy family to work with, which was our primary criteria for selecting them in the beginning, they were outstanding!

I used Aldana Renovations to do some repairs to my subfloor that had water damage. Andoni came out and did an awesome job of repairing the flooring as reinstalling the laminate above it. His prices were more than fair, he was on time, and worked quickly. I would definitely recommend him.

The Capriotti brothers recently carried out my kitchen remodel. They proved first-rate; I'm very pleased with the outcome. They are great guys, honest, of absolute integrity, really hard-working, and easy to get along with. They gave useful advice on several issues. The work area was immaculately cleaned at the end of each workday, much appreciated. Their wish is to make sure you're 100% satisfied. Strongly recommended; I shall certainly ask them to come back when future work is needed.

Our dishwasher failed while we were away and the significant water damage (about which we initially were unaware) not only slowly created mold inside our walls; it ruined most of our kitchen cabinetry. Since our house was built in 1984 the kitchen had been updated but never fully remodeled (including the original fluorescent lighting and drop-ceiling!).  We had no intention to undergo such significant a project but the timing would never be better.

Our insurer provided a list of its approved contractors but because the economy is so strong here in AZ, few responded and even fewer provided a bid (of the 18 GC's contacted). During the mold remediation process (a terrible experience we wish upon no one!), we were referred to Copper State Remodeling, a fully licensed and bonded General Contractor.  Are we ever grateful!

Mike Byrnes, its owner, came to our home the same day we contacted him and expediently provided a comprehensive bid:  Seal the rest of the house off (we lived in it throughout...), repair walls post-mold remediation, demo/remove all cabinets, drop ceiling and equally dated lighting, etc. His crew then installed new drywall/texture, redesigned our HVAC (making it more efficient), fully upgraded LED lighting, painted, and even completed minor structural improvements.

Mike as project manager, most capably coordinated and oversaw each subcontractor, the cabinetry company, appliance delivery/install, and the granite fabrication/install. Each and every individual who came into our home was the utmost in professionalism, competence, consideration, and also friendliness--including being most dog-friendly!

Copper State Remodeling was competitive in its bid.  Most of all though, we appreciate the significant added value Mike and his team brought to our home.  We're extremely satisfied and fully enjoying our new kitchen and family room--including its previously 'hidden' vaulted ceilings.

We whole-heartedly recommend Southwest Building Solutions. We had never done any type of a detached building before, and the process was smooth and professional throughout. Before we signed anything, they let us tour a few of their recently-completed buildings, which were very well done. Even our subcontractors have given their buildings compliments. Matt and Jason were great, communicated throughout, and we are very happy with the end result. From plans to foundation to final trim, we feel we did great picking Southwest Building Solutions.

I only let the best and talented people to work in my home. I needed new custom cabinets added to my new home. I contacted keith to do the job. If you want a perfect job then there is only one person to call. He will be my go to guy as long as I live. He is a gentleman snd a fantastic human being. He cares 100% about all his customers. You will never find a better contractor in the state of AZ. His work came out gorgeous and as soon as I can I've been sick, I'll post all the beautiful pictures of his work. After we discovered that annoying neighbors were moving in next door it became a priority to add a level of blocks to our neighboring fence wall. My husband had the idea of us doing it ourselves and after seeing all that went into the job I nixed it real quick! I wanted this job done and finished within the next week. I was referred to David by another Mason and it was a great referral. David gave me the lowest quote and could come in 3 days! They came this morning and laid 80 ft of block, cleaned up and it was done in about 2 hours. They were very nice, professional, fast and got the job done right. I'm happy!

Beware!  Owner Trond Matteson is unreliable and undependable.  I first used him to do artificial turf on my front yard a year ago on reference from friends.  Although the job was completed there were issues that he promised to fix several times but never did.  I recently decided to do my back yard and decided to give him a second chance since we have so many mutual friends, yet this recent experience with him has been horrible.  I asked him to come look at my yard and give me a quote, and he said he would come by the next day.  2 days later without coming to see my yard, he asked me to measure the yard and send him the dimensions.  Once I did that he agreed to do the job and said he would be here Thursday to do it.  After not showing up on Thursday I contacted him that afternoon to ask where he was and he said he had a funeral to go to and couldn't make it.  He promised he would be here on Friday.  He never showed up on Friday and no word from him until Saturday morning when he texted and said he would be at my home in an hour.  He never showed again!  Later that day at 3pm he called and said he couldn't come until Monday.  I told him to forget it and said I couldn't ever trust that he would show up after letting me down 3 days in a row.  He pleaded with me to reconsider and swore he would be here personally Monday morning before the sun came up to do the job and promised I would be happy.  Big surprise....he never showed up again!  4 days in a row he said he would be here to do the job and never showed up.  Do not believe anything he says and don't use this company!  I was hoping to have my yard done for Mother's Day but guess that won't happen!
