Best General Contractors in Phoenix, AZ

I found Five40 on Yelp, and I couldn't be more thrilled with the job they did! I live in a house built in 1964, and I was dying to update my out of date kitchen.
Shannon responded promptly and came out to give me an estimate. I got several estimates but I felt the most comfortable with their vision and having them in my home. The crew showed up on time every day and kept me up to date on changes as they arose. I hear so many horror stories about home renovation projects and i am so happy to that i didn't have to deal with that! The guys did an amazing job! They were professional, courteous and understanding of all my concerns! My new kitchen looks amazing! Thank you FIVE40 and thank you Shannon for understanding my vision and helping me to bring it to life! I love my new kitchen!

I just can't say enough good things about Bobby Campbell and his contracting company, Campbell Contracting. He and his crew really did an outstanding job of resurfacing my pool and putting in a new cool deck. I just moved into an older property that had a large diving pool that was shot. I literally could not dip my toe in the pool until it was resurfaced. I chose a pool contractor who had a cutting edge 3-D program that showed my pool exactly how I wanted it and sold me on it. (All show and no go!). After hiring him on, he subbed the job out to Bobby and told him I needed to get it done before the friends and family Open House I was planning at my new place. Well, my hired on Pool Contractor disappeared (his review to follow!), but Bobby got the job done....at least the part he was hired to do. He had 5 guys here round the clock and the finished product is absolutely gorgeous. I am so pleased and would refer Bobby in a heart beat. I felt bad after the job was done, because the General Contractor I hired gave him a bogus check!!! I absolutely would recommend Bobby and Campbell Contracting to anyone looking for any kind of remodeling job. They are first class and get the job done!!!

Came out later than appointment time and was promised a quote in a few days. I even followed up and never heard back. I couldn't imagine working with them on a project.

Patrick completed a very complex remodeling job for us that required exceptional electrical and carpentry skills.  Our great room now oozes style and class and has left us with an abundance of space.

If I could rate this company no stars I would.  

Our experience has been super disappointing especially when they were recommended.  

They came out Tuesday of last week advised they'd have a quote to us by EOD.  Nothing - called to touch base with them on Friday asking if maybe it was misplaced and was told they get right back to us as their estimator was out ill.  Called again on Monday and LVM with Tracey to see if we could get an idea when to expect details since we are on a tight deadline for hosting a large event in our home.  Again, no response.  

Reviews like this come out when you leave your clients in the dark and when you fail respond after multiple attempts. Companies who are true to their word and respond when they say they will earn out business over and over again regardless of price.  

Gurr Brothers you're officially out... We are no longer interested!

Alex and his crew did 2 bathrooms for us.  Main and Master.  Both turned out just beautiful (IMHO).  Alex communicated with me promptly throughout the entire process.  He showed up when he said he was going to and worked hard to get the job completed as promised.  I would recommend him and his crew to anyone!

I would give 0 if I could. I sincerely wish that we had the positive experiences that other reviewers seem to have had... it is hard to believe they dealt with the same company. I would not recommend Atelier 507 to anyone, for any reason. I am writing this review because I've noticed an increase in Atelier507's advertising, and I think anyone considering this business should be aware of my family's experience.

We signed a six-figure contract with Bobby in December of 2020 for our home remodel. We ultimately paid that entire contract amount, plus about 60% more.

To this day, the work is not complete. Bobby abandoned the project before we were able to pass the City of Phoenix's inspection process. So, we have not been able to close out the permits with the City of Phoenix.

We were initially told that our home would be finished in March of 2021. It still isn't, 18 months latter. Bobby did find another company to complete the work when we informed him of our intent to file a complaint with ROC after he abandoned the project, so I am hopeful that we will be finished with this chapter in our lives soon. It has caused a lot of stress for our family.

The work that was completed required (and still requires) significant repair and touch up work. The work was rushed and not carefully completed. It seemed that Bobby wanted to complete the job as quickly and inexpensively (for him) as possible.

Some examples: The grout and drywall in and around our primary bath shower is severely cracking. The shower tiles themselves have begun to crack. The drywall around the title is cracking. The shluter around the shower niche is sharp and sticks out from the wall. Our child's bathroom tile has similar issues. The shluter around her tub is sharp and sticks out to the point that she recently cut herself while getting into the shower.

He purchased (basic, undoubtedly inexpensive, white) paint for the interior of the home without consulting us about paint color. We were told that was the color our walls would be painted, because the paint had already been purchased. The paint was thinly and sloppily applied.

The kitchen layout was not well planned. We are unable to open one of our refrigerator doors. We purchased our appliances prior to the remodel; still the kitchen design was not compatible with what we'd purchased. The kitchen backsplash was installed quickly and carelessly: the grout is cracking, and the square tiles are noticeably off center above the stove. The under cabinet lighting was screwed into our cabinets so that the sharp end of the screws were poking through the bottom of the cabinets.

Our plans included a pantry/mudroom, which had to be scrapped due to poor planning.

When we finally had no choice but to move in to our home in October 2021 (despite the fact that it was unfinished), we spent my. first few days there cleaning urine, grime, and pubic hair off of our new toilets. We still find cigarette butts in our yard. A custom-built entertainment center was damaged. A box full of our clothing was used as a trashcan (and cigarette receptacle). There is paint splattered on our flagstone patio and pool deck. Our kitchen cabinets were full of trash. The crew left behind their garbage and extra supplies for us to clean up.

We have paid Bobby every cent we owed. And when we were asked to make progress payments early to accommodate Bobby's vacations, we did. Still, when we expressed concerns, we were reminded of the fact that Bobby was trying to run a business, that it wasn't worth it to him to have anyone come to our home to address issues, and that there was a million dollar project that was Bobby's priority. At the beginning, Bobby was professional and accommodating... that did not last.

I hesitated to post a review prior to our home passing a City inspection because I just want the project finished so that our family can move on. It's been a year since we moved into a construction zone, and this process has been a nightmare. I hope that sharing our experience helps others to make an informed choice.

The tile and plumbing job for a remodeled bathroom was completed with precise attention to detail. The prep, and installation of both floor and wall tile were professionally completed. The project remodel looks like the way it should be, Brand New. Wonderful service, and came to work in a timely manner as promised.

This company did a great job on our rebar. They were quick with their estimate and professional. The crew that came to do the work was very friendly and kept my yard clean. I would highly recommend.

Filled in a small area in front of our shower with some extra tile and grout we still had.  Looked great!  Also, the job was smaller than he originally thought, so he knocked off $50.

Joe and his team are wonderful. Joe came out to install French doors in our home and they turned out wonderful. He also installed a bedroom solid wood door that turned out perfect as well. The next project I am looking to have Joe do is remodel our bathroom shower, he had wonderful ideas to make the job go as smooth as possible. We highly recommend Joe for your future construction projects.

They did an absolutely beautiful, top quality job on our backyard. The design is unique, well thought out and functional. The aesthetic of our yard is modern, yet comfortable. They are motivated to keep their designs unique and interesting. Your yard will stand out while remaining warm for entertaining and family and guest friendly. They were responsive, communicative and very professional. They do not cut corners and take pride in their finished product. They have remained available even after the job was complete for any questions. If you want knowledgeable and top quality, these are your guys!

Chad is amazing!! They are truly an amazing team .. always takes my calls or texts responds immediately. Will go above and beyond for something that I can't do.  I'm so happy we found them. I need him all the time to fix things ..

We are very happy with the work that Built by Grace did. We have used Jason for three home  renovation projects and are extremely pleased with all of the work. I was referred by a friend after a bad storm had revealed a leak in our new home. With another monster storm about to hit us, I reached for a consultation and Geremy drove an hour and a half out of his way on his own time to look at what was going on. Gave me a quick and honest assessment, when asked how much, he was beyond reasonable, and offered to handle the job on the spot, so the next storm wouldn't damage my house! You will regret using this company! My roof guarantees it!

We've hired Derek for multiple projects in the last two years - ceiling retexturing and finish from water damage 10/18, resurfacing of ceiling/wall and flooring replacement 7/20, full shower remodel 8/20. All his teams were very professional, polite and mindful of our pets not getting loose. Derek is a pleasure to work with and very competitive with his pricing. We're very happy with the quality of the work and the timeliness of the completion. We'll definitely be hiring him again in the future when we're ready for our next project.

We had the pleasure to work with Peak One Builders and had a fantastic experience. My husband was hit while serving in Afghanistan and sustained a traumatic brain injury and loss of both legs below the knees. Remolding a home could have a nightmare....but with Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors and Peak One Builders this was the easiest experience for us.

Mike Christensen of Peak One was professional, reliable and made sure that the job was done right. The way that Mike had reconfigured our home was outstanding. He was extremely creative, thinking outside the box for my husbands special needs to make sure our home looked normal and not like a handicap section. The house feels open, clean, spacious, and luxurious. Basically, the house looks like it was built for a King!

I love seeing the look of pride in my husband when we are at home, he has full access to everything and there are no obstacles. Now we BBQ and hang out at our fire pit almost every night! After researching a few contractors, I chose Golden Bear contracting to do our 3 bathroom remodels. I could not have been happier with my choice. Mike did an outstanding job. He put in new countertops, sinks, faucets, flooring, mirrors, tile, reconfigured our shower, enclosed our tub, painted, etc. He was so easy to talk to, was always available to answer my many questions, such a hard worker, very responsible, and reliable.
