We started taking bids for solar earlier in 2021.  Some companies only wanted to push an expensive lease option that would have cost us more than $60000 out of pocket by the end of the lease!  Sure, they take  care of all maintenance and repairs, but when you do a little bit more research you can find that reputable companies have 25 year warranties on their products.  Luckily, I started reading about microinverters and decided that I wanted an Enphase microinverter instead of a string inverter.  From there, I searched Enphase's website for an installer in my zip code and Black Platinum showed up as a platinum level installer.  At the time, the next one listed had a gold status.  We got a quote for $38000 for 13.3kW with LG Panels and Enphase microinverters.  The payoff at the time was ten years, but recently Arizona is pushing APS to cut the off peak time from 3pm to 8pm to 4pm to 7pm and they are forcing them to stop charging people with solar for a grid connection fee.  These changes will definitely shorten our payoff time a little.

Black Platinum had us make the payments in four phases which worked out for us to help space out the large checks.  The first phase involves getting city permits, the second phase is installation, and the last phase is APS approving the install and giving you the go ahead to flip the switch and turn on the system.  We opted for no battery in our system since our solar buyback rate is locked for ten years.  After ten years, I'm anticipating battery technology to be much more superior along with the Enphase technology for being able to go off grid while still being connected to the grid in the event of a power outage.

After the install, we had a few hiccups that either we solved or Black Platinum solved:
1. One of the trees that the previous owners planted was shading my roof and blocking sun to three of my panels.  I had my landscaper trim the tree down beneath the roof line on my house.  He still needs to work with my neighbor to trim the same tree on my neighbor's side.  The three panels are probably running at about 60% right now (up from 16% when they were shaded).
2. Three panels did not have power after the system was turned on.  Two of them weren't plugged in correctly and the third needed a new microinverter.  I coordinated with David (Sales Manager) to get the repair team to my home to fix these three panels.

I love the Enphase Enlighten app for my Android phone.  It shows your energy use so you know when you are doing things during peak energy charges.  It helped us realize that if we shower between 3pm and 8pm it uses 5kW just to refill the water heater.  Now we shower outside of that window given that our APS bill is negative at the moment (it could be even more negative).

The way our system is designed we are expecting to get money back during the cooler months and we're expecting to pay some money during the four hot months in the summer.  It should balance itself out.  We are looking forward to getting the rebate next year and hope that the solar tax credit is extended to help more people get solar in the future.

During each phase of getting solar, David was in touch with me constantly via text on my phone.  I was also in touch with John Black (owner), Melia (permits), and David via email.  All of their estimates for the time frame for permits, construction, and APS were pretty spot on.  They had to cut into the wall in my daughter's room and garage to help hide the power conduits and it's very professional.  The drywall people patched it up like it never happened and we just happened to have painted my daughter's room recently as part of a kitchen remodel (using the same painters).  A few coats of left over paint and we can't even tell anything happened.  I highly recommend Black Platinum if you are considering going solar and I have given their information to a few of my neighbors who are thinking about it for themselves.

This is an excellent family business that provides individualized high quality service. The owner Jaime and his son JJ performed two large jobs for us involving many different tasks in a newly purchased home that we were updating in Sun Lakes. They work quickly and efficiently. Jaime had years of experience and knows a lot about electrical contracting but also about many other aspects of home repair. I got many good tips from him. He is great at diagnosing problems and coming up with practical solutions. It's obvious that he wants the work to be high quality, yet he's also mindful of controlling costs. He's a very pleasant and respectful guy who cares a lot about customer service. I feel like I've made a friend.  If you work with a bigger corporate company, it's always possible that you'll get some guy who just started a year ago. Wouldn't you prefer to hire someone with years of expertise?  If you call Rabago, you won't regret it!

Had some problems, but they got ahold of me and fixed my main complaints.

I contacted Jenco after I saw some good reviews on Nextdoor.com. My daughter's bedroom ceiling fan stopped working, and I also wanted a new outlet installed. When I contacted Dave, he promptly sent me an email with a good quote, and we set a time and date for someone to come out. This morning, Nick arrived timely. He was courteous and professional, and he did a great job on both items I needed. The price Dave quoted is exactly what I paid and I think I got a really good deal on work well done. Thanks, Jenco! You're definitely my first call next time we need an electrician.

I used SMK Electric two more times since my last review. I called Simon to install some light fixtures and fix the wiring to fixtures in the kitchen a few months back at a second condo I own and his work was great as usual! The condo is over 25 years old so some of the wiring is a somewhat outdated so I felt more comfortable updating things with a licensed electrician. Just called Simon again January 2012 to do more work at the 25+ year old condo on the old wiring. He replaced electrical outlets, light switches, an outdoor light and installed an electrical outlet outside. It's great bringing an older property more up-to-date knowing the work is done right with a licensed electrician rather than trying to do it yourself. The work is done efficiently, quickly, by a professional at a reasonable rate. After using Simon from SMK Electric three times, I highly recommend using him for all your electrical needs!

We had a couple damaged baseboards that needed to be repaired in a timely manner due to selling our home. Andrew responded immediately and was able to get the job done as soon as the next day. Andrew did a great job, was professional, and cleaned up after the job. I highly recommend Nichols Handyman Bros!

i needed today, as i said today to have 2 ceiling fans installed. wayne and his partner came out and were quick, efficient, and did the most amazing job. if your looking for a great company, call sheilds.

Our new stove lost power and when we had the service guy from the store come out he said it was not the stove but the electrical in the house. He referred us to Apache Dee's. Turned out that our house had many serious electrical issues and they showed us where the box was just about burned through. We were not far from having a fire. They fixed numerous issues and coordinated the permits and plans needed to go to SRP. Everyone was very helpful and courteous and the bill was very reasonable for all the work that had to be completed.

Great service from ECO Electric added 220 line to operate our new SPA, Daniel was very professional, price was good, installation was excellent. This was about a 65 foot line from the box to the backyard and it looks great. Highly recommend ECO Electric

These guys are great. We have used them for a number of very complicated electrica problems yet they seem to make it very simple. Honest with integrity. You will not regret working with these guys. Kent and Michael operate as owners and they are an amazing team.

This morning Tom Zeidas and a helper arrived right on time to do electrical installations in our condo. Tom Zeidas' customer service included assistance in selecting our timer switch and a referral for drywall repair. He asked our preferences for each install, explained how to use the multi-function fan remote and demonstrated while he set the porch light timer.

The amount charged matched his estimate. Before leaving, Tom verified that our new ceiling fan, kitchen track lights, timer switch and four new wall outlets worked perfectly. He also vacuumed the drywall dust from wall cutouts. My wife and I rate Zeidas Electric, LLC at 5 stars.

I recently needed an electrician to swap out 3 or 4 dimmer switches in my home. To my surprise, they provided a quote of $1,000 for the labor alone, while three other licensed electricians estimated the job at a range of $250 to $300.

I'm uncertain if this company is legitimate or if someone is posing as a business. I had noticed that there were no reviews on Yelp until I brought it up to them. Strangely enough, a generic review appeared on the same day.
