JK Painting Roofing Contractor
JK Painting came by and quoted their price to paint the exterior of our house. The price was in our estimation competitive, they knew the colours to use and completed the job in about 7 hours, including crack repairs prior to application.
A few weeks after the job was completed, I noticed an area that needed some attention.
A call to Charles and a few days later he showed up with a crew and completed the repair without hesitation.
This is the kind of service I appreciate.
When you need your house painted, I would recommend these folks.

Complete Roofing & Waterproofing Roofing Contractor
Terry and his team did a marvelous job on our very large roof.  His team was on-time, professional and kept the work area clean.  Not only did they do a great job but they extended services beyond the scope of their work due to our immediate family crisis (a death in the family).  Terry, seeing that I was overwhelmed with decluttering the house and preparing it for sale loaned me a flat bed trailer to haul items away.  His kindness and generosity during an extremely difficult time meant the world to me and will never be forgotten.  In addition, his associate Ben was extremely courteous and helpful during the week-long process of repairing the roof.  Their rates were entirely within reason and they did not try to inflate any aspect of the work that needed to be done to prepare our house for sale.  Thanks Terry and team!!

Five Guys Roofing Roofing Contractor
My warning to you - DO NOT use this company.

I purchased my home Apr 2021 and started minor demolition, flooring, complete interior painting.  Then roofing.  Then landscaping, then exterior painting.  Five Guys first reroofed my 2,200 sqft one-story home in July 2021.  They were a referral from a trusted friend who had used them a few years ago.

Round 1 of my roof, a complete reroof with double underlayment.  My yard was left a complete mess on the DAILY - nails and trash and tools all over, and even a gas can that would have stayed on my roof overnight had I not called the company to come cleanup and remove the gas can.  Yes, gas can - during monsoon season with lightning.  When a job-site (or workspace or kitchen, etc) is left in a poor condition, you can expect that the work done is also poor.  As a result I wanted the job reviewed by the owners, so I refused to pay the 30% that remained.

Justin came to my home.  I told him I wasn't paying until I had an independent inspection.  Justin asked if he could go up on the roof and I said yes.  When he came down he said he'd either refund my money, or, as he preferred, he'd make it right and redo the roof.  He admitted to finding single underlayment in places, bad flashings, a laundry list of errors and poor workmanship.  I agreed to the re-do because he said he would personally supervise the job, and I thought I'd give them a chance to fix things.

Round 2 in Aug 2021, and in between I had my yard landscaped.  Re-roofing started, but I was informed that Justin had Covid and could not supervise the job.  In hindsight, I should have demanded the job be postponed.  The crew did not cover my yard and pool until I called and screamed, and yes, I still picked up nails and trash.  They drove a trailer over my new lawn.  The landscaper repaired the damage.  The crew threw metal pieces off of my roof onto the lawn and driveway near my car, when a dumpster was only 20 feet away.  Again, bad experience.

Round 1 round went two extra days.  Second was finished sooner than expected, but they started earlier on Saturday than I asked, waking an exhausted and grumpy me up early after a long work week.

Forward to Jan/Feb 2022.  My roof is leaking.  My newly painted walls and ceilings have large cracks and bubbles, and the ceiling is drooping in numerous locations.  The items increase in severity and number after every rain.  My new floors are bubbling and buckling.  I put in a warranty claim with Five Guys.  The inspector came out, and had to come out again because of course management needed additional proof.  Either the inspector lied to me - he felt the damage was indeed related to a leaky roof due to plastic battens, nails that were too long, shoddy work around the chimney - or management didn't believe him.  Whatever happened, I needed to host yet another Five Guys visit.  On visit number two, a sprinkler test resulted in me with towels cleaning up a wet mess in my dining room.  Five Guys's official response to that was that they will only redo a 10' x 10' section of my roof.

I've done two additional things since having the warranty inspections:

I've had a second roofer quote repair and they said there's so much wrong - battens spaced too far apart, single underlayment in areas, rotted wood not replaced, tiles not wired in, tiles already slipping - that it'll just be better to reroof.

I've also had a restoration company come to check my interior and my roof and the inspector said yes, there's water damage (measured with a dampness gauge), and signs of leaking throughout the house.  He also said the roof is very poorly done and even has large holes.

And after I mentioned to Five Guys that the second roofer found single underlayment, they asked me to tell them where, and that they'd address that, too.  I did not inform them of the restoration inspection.

It's looking like I'll need to reroof, repair drywall, repaint ceilings and walls, fix flooring and baseboards, and repaint baseboards.  Even more renovation than I needed to do when I originally purchased the house in April 2021.  And I'll likely have to stay somewhere else during the work.

Just be careful - if you choose Five Guys you may be risking your home, your financial investment, your personal time, and your emotional well being.  They may over time fix the parts of the roof that they choose to consider covered by warranty, but in the meantime you'll be left cleaning up the interior pieces, spending your own money to do so, spending precious personal time, having to take time off from work, and spend your own weekends to deal with a huge mess.

PS - the second opinion roofer I called guessed who did the roof, and told me some choice stories about the kids choosing to focus on toys and vacations rather than ensuring good work.  And when I called Five Guys about the warranty and asked to speak to the owners, I was told the owners were in Cabo.  I'm not creative enough to make this stuff up!

Overson Roofing Roofing Contractor
Called for a small stain on my garage roof inside, was told he didn't go up in the attic, he  climbed on the roof moved one tile, did not do anything else. Did not put the tile back properly, had to ask him to go back up and fix it. Wrote an estimate for $1,000. You decide.

Dunne Roofing Services Roofing Contractor
May 2022 Dunne roofing was at our condo complex at the Pointe Tapatio. The address is 10410 N. Cave Creek Rd. On May 23rd, I came home from a 15 hour work day and found our balcony completely littered with tar paper, nails, roofing, and other materials. I walk out barefoot to water plants every evening and stepped on a nail but thankfully not anywhere that could have punctured my foot. Luckily. Upon further inspection, our rain gutters, and the roof tiles had materials in them too. The next storm would have made a huge mess with that. I called Mark to resolve this and they did clean that portion. They parked their trash dump trailer directly in front of our unit and threw the trash off the 3rd story roof and let it fly wherever it could go. I personally picked up nails in the parking lot so no one would lose a tire. Exactly around the same time we started having issues with one of our air conditioner units. This was conveniently after I spoke to Mark from Dunne. Our technician we use for air conditioning has been to our unit twice. Both times after roofers have been on our roof. The first contractor I don't remember who is was but I'll remember Dunne forever. For this occurence our technician notified us that they used our AC unit to plug into for their tools, not that big of a deal but they left that power outlet open to the elements and generators work too. That doesn't let the customer pay for the power usage though. Also, our air conditioning unit was intentionally drained of 1lb 3oz of refrigerant. The access to the roof is high up and we've had a lot of technicians turn us down for the job before we found our guy from Grafi. In his opinion, Dunne's roofers intentionally drained the refrigerant. It's not difficult it's like letting air out of a tire. But this caused our unit additional stress in this heat, and more money out of our pockets for the technician visit, and extra power used to have our AC unit constantly running. Another neighbor complained about Dunne and her AC technician found a boot print kicked into the cooling fins of her AC unit. Additionally, a friend in the community found trash all around their unit when they had AC issues. I currently build and maintain high voltage power lines, but I have done every kind of contract work in construction from roofing to concrete and everything in-between. I've never operated in the way Dunne operates, nor any contractor that I worked for. Their obvious distaste for being clean and courteous, and their spiteful behavior towards the people footing the bill is enough for me to leave this review. The owner, Mark, is a human piece of garbage that saw zero error in the way his guys handled the job. His lead on site reflected Mark's attributes and the poo keeps flowing down hill from there. Can't leave zero stars so they get one. Hopefully yelp still allows pictures to be posted.

D & M Roofing Roofing Contractor
TLDR: RUN AWAYYYYYYY!!!...

I called D&M Roofing and was told to call Alex who would schedule me and come take a look at my roof.
So I called Alex and i asked him: Do you work for D&M Roofing?
and he replied: YES.
So, i asked if Monday at 9am worked for him and he said: YES
Me: Great! see you then!

So Monday rolls around...
9am - no show.  - okay maybe he's a little late, no worries its my day off which is why i scheduled it this day.
10am - no show. - maybe he hit snooze a few times and caught some traffic on the way up. no worries, its my day off, which is why i scheduled it this day.
11am - no show. - maybe a family emergency came up and as he ran out the door to attend to it, he forgot his binder where he writes down all his appointments that he schedules with people, the moment they call him on the phone so he will be on time for the appt or God forbid, maybe even 15 minutes early...?
so I text him: Hey Alex, you still coming out today to do the estimate?
he replies: Refresh my memory plz

...and that's when U know, its just not worth doing business with ppl like that.

thanks for not showing up and keeping your word!

smdh..

Patterson Roofing Roofing Contractor
My roof leaked in the strangest spot, Will came out and gave an very fair est. for the repair, it did end up being slightly more but only because the repair ended up being larger. But it needed to be done because the previous owners roof replacement was done wrong and cut corners and obviously ran off the with claim money.  They inspected the rest of the roof and at this time everything seems good,  Will and his team made it right. They scheduled me in during the busiest week ever and were on time, clean, friendly and got the job done efficiently and quickly. They are a trusted team not only from what I experienced, but lol the neighbor grandma gave them lunch that day. I just found that out. I highly recommend Patterson Roofing, they are in my address book for when I need a new roof. I fully support locally family owned businesses, they are my first go to for everything.

Stapleton Roofing Roofing Contractor
Just finished roof last Friday and I was very impressed. Pat came out and gave me a quote and I believe that for what they did it was fair. It wasn't the lowest quote but it was the most comprehensive. The crew showed up on time and worked for 5 days straight to complete the job. The quality was amazing compared to what the builder had done 24 years ago. I would definitely recommend Jeff and his crew at Stapleton for any tile roofing job. You won't be disappointed.

High Performance Homes Roofing Contractor
Make sure to read the contract fully before signing there is no way for a client to get out of it without having to pay this company 33% of the total I was fully cooperative with all they asked for my side of the bargain so they could have an easy install when the install was ready I removed all my blinds and moved everything out of the way when I received a call saying they have all my products ready for install come to find out my order was never placed after 3 months and the windows they brought were not the correct windows or even the correct sizes for my house it was a different clients I called the next day she said it will take about 2 weeks. the lady that I was speaking to was fired due to messing up other clients orders. It has been over a month since I removed all my blinds and moved everything out of the way (which it's still like that because there's no point in putting them back)  I have not received a call or even heard anything from the company about my windows and doors so I called to cancel my services due to not fulfillment to the contract and Miscommunication on there side and to let them know that I just don't want the windows and doors anymore and immediately the guy said that is impossible due to the contract and they have the high attorneys for this situation and as a company we will not lose
I did not read the contract fully but there is NO EXIT CLAUSE for the client to have the right to cancel after the company has not hold up there bargain so just make sure you read the whole contract because this company only cares about one thing only and that is scamming people into contracts that only benefit them and could care less about a client I knew right away as soon as the guy I spoke to started bringing up attorney and lawsuits right when I said I would like to cancel the order than he also told me that it was my fault that I should of been calling them everyday because in his words and I quote if it was his house he wouldn't put up with that shit (laughing) how is it my fault as company you should of called your client and communicated with them of what's going on
