Reading some of Gary's negative reviews it seems that a lot of people have had similar experiences. Gary might be able to do some quality work, but I wouldn't know because he's just not professional at all.

We reached out to Gary after buying a new house in Arcadia a while back and he told us that whenever we were ready he could help us with installing ceiling fans, blinds, and whatever we may need (score!) but when we called him back to schedule something he was sick and told me he would call me back in a week.

A week goes by with no phone call, so I call him-- but no answer... and his vm is full. so I waited a couple more days and called him again, still no answer; so this time I followed up with a text asking if he was still interested in helping us out with our handyman needs and he replied yes and to let him know when we would like him to come help.

Perfect! I called him when I got back to Phoenix and he didn't answer (of course), so I texted asking when he was available and he asked if he could schedule me in for between 1-2pm on Thursday. Yes I replied, then I texted asking him a couple questions about estimates for hanging large blinds and included photos. He ignored my texts that night about the quote/estimate altogether, so I texted asking if he received my messages requesting an estimate to which he replied "Yes, I'll look at them when I'm at your house." (Not really an answer or estimate- kind of slippery).

So today rolls around and of course I'm at home waiting on this handyman to show up (of course I organized my day around him) 14 minutes before he was due for our appointment, he cancels.

He says: "Can we meet Saturday 9-930? Caught up in work."
(No apology for the inconvenience, or wasting my time, just a crap text).

Me: "You know Gary, let me talk to my boyfriend about it. After reading your Yelp! reviews we expected a little more professionalism to be honest."

He says: "Well I've been sick for the last month and been out of commission. I've been trying to catch up on my jobs. Sorry if you feel that way. I know I can't make everyone happy.

Me: "It's not a feeling. You cancelled 15 minutes before you were scheduled to show up and have been unresponsive and not very communicative with me. Those are facts. While I understand it's impossible to make everybody happy, you could do a much better job by being a little more professional.

Then-- radio silence.

Gary, you can make customers happy; how about apologizing when you're wrong and unprofessional instead of #1: making excuses, then #2: blaming me, or acting like I'm the one with unrealistic expectations when I've accommodated the date and time YOU chose and then flaked on. Would not recommend.

I really enjoyed working with Luis, he was polite, very competent, and communicates very well.  We had a scheduling issue but he kept me informed constantly on the impact.  We did reschedule but having someone communicate so well was excellent.  I will use him again without hesitation.

Excellent service!  George finished my job within one hour and it was super-quality work. Will definitely use them again!

Excellent service.  Replaced the hose on the back of a washing machine.  He was on time, knowledgeable, and reasonably priced.  I will continue to use him.

Chris was very responsive to our inquiry and was able to repair our gate and latch the next morning. We appreciate his professionalism, hard work, and communication. We will be using him for other repairs in our home!

Mark was a pleasure to work with.  Excellent work, great attitude and reasonably priced. Couldn't have asked for more.

I reside in Phoenix and there are several different jobs that I have hired Garcia's Handyman such as changing out my security doors, placing new gutters and am very satisfied with his work.  He recently painted my house and was extremely thorough.   I love the way it turned out and will be hiring him again in the future.

I'm surprised that anyone would have a bad review for Copper State. We've had Mike come and do several projects at hour house, from replacing toilets, to installing ceiling fans, moving around chandeliers and other lights, hanging shelves... I could go on and on. He's always been respectful, responsive and on time.

I've had family member meet him at my house when I couldn't get there to meet him in time and have even left him in our home to finish a job and he locked up for us and is always understanding  and patient about our two very big and curious dogs who follow him around the house while he's working.

We always have an ongoing list of projects for Mike to take care of and have him come by every few months to cross a few off the list. I've recommended him to many people and will continue to.

We called a few guys (handymen) to get estimates for a fix it list we needed completed in order to sell our house. It was the buyers post inspection request list that we needed to fix up some things.

There were multiple things that I liked about THE Handyman! He promptly returned our call and came over to the house to go over the list. He didn't just ask for info over the phone but rather took the time to come and give an honest estimate in price and time. He was friendly and trustworthy. At no point did I feel as though I was getting overcharged.  

When it came time to do the repairs, he showed up on time, did quality work, was pleasent and easy to talk to. There were a few items he needed to get parts for. He took care of all the ordering and came back as planned and completed everything with ease.

I had a light fixture and a fan installed as well as a new door put in. Tony was the man. He did a great job with everything and is very trustworthy. The work was completed exactly as I wanted with little to no input from me after the initial description of what I wanted done. I will 100% use Handyman Connection again and highly recommend to anyone with projects large or small!

Eric was very kind and accommodating. He arrived on time and was able to remove all my unassembled Ikea furniture (so many pieces) pretty quickly. I will definitely recommend him to everyone I know!

Showed up on time, respectful of the current pandemic and did a great job replacing our kitchen faucet. My family will use this company in the future.

John helped me with fixing my bed slats on our king bed. He was very responsive and professional, and did a great job and his price was fair. I would definitely use him again for any jobs that I had.

I've been putting off many jobs in my Glendale home, trying to determine who would be able to tackle each of them.  I called Handymanpros, and Justin was out the next day to look at what I needed.  They were going to be able to undertake almost all of them.  They ordered what was needed, arrived when they said they would and completed all the jobs.  Meanwhile, I came up with even more for them to do, so I have two more visits scheduled!  Their rates are quite reasonable.  I'm so glad that I found them.

Phil was great! I needed blinds hung and he got the job done! Fair priced and overall a very nice guy. Definitely recommend him if you need a handyman!
