Reading some of Gary's negative reviews it seems that a lot of people have had similar experiences. Gary might be able to do some quality work, but I wouldn't know because he's just not professional at all.

We reached out to Gary after buying a new house in Arcadia a while back and he told us that whenever we were ready he could help us with installing ceiling fans, blinds, and whatever we may need (score!) but when we called him back to schedule something he was sick and told me he would call me back in a week.

A week goes by with no phone call, so I call him-- but no answer... and his vm is full. so I waited a couple more days and called him again, still no answer; so this time I followed up with a text asking if he was still interested in helping us out with our handyman needs and he replied yes and to let him know when we would like him to come help.

Perfect! I called him when I got back to Phoenix and he didn't answer (of course), so I texted asking when he was available and he asked if he could schedule me in for between 1-2pm on Thursday. Yes I replied, then I texted asking him a couple questions about estimates for hanging large blinds and included photos. He ignored my texts that night about the quote/estimate altogether, so I texted asking if he received my messages requesting an estimate to which he replied "Yes, I'll look at them when I'm at your house." (Not really an answer or estimate- kind of slippery).

So today rolls around and of course I'm at home waiting on this handyman to show up (of course I organized my day around him) 14 minutes before he was due for our appointment, he cancels.

He says: "Can we meet Saturday 9-930? Caught up in work."
(No apology for the inconvenience, or wasting my time, just a crap text).

Me: "You know Gary, let me talk to my boyfriend about it. After reading your Yelp! reviews we expected a little more professionalism to be honest."

He says: "Well I've been sick for the last month and been out of commission. I've been trying to catch up on my jobs. Sorry if you feel that way. I know I can't make everyone happy.

Me: "It's not a feeling. You cancelled 15 minutes before you were scheduled to show up and have been unresponsive and not very communicative with me. Those are facts. While I understand it's impossible to make everybody happy, you could do a much better job by being a little more professional.

Then-- radio silence.

Gary, you can make customers happy; how about apologizing when you're wrong and unprofessional instead of #1: making excuses, then #2: blaming me, or acting like I'm the one with unrealistic expectations when I've accommodated the date and time YOU chose and then flaked on. Would not recommend.

Luis just put a new face on the space where our new dishwasher will go and he did a fantastic job. See before and after pics. He was very responsive and thoroughly cleaned the space before departing. He's a very skilled and respectful person. In fact, before he left, we showed him some future work that will be coming his way.

Unfortunately we are out of Michele's service area, but she responded quickly to my inquiry with suggestions and advice about where to try next.  Incredibly thoughtful.  Wish she serviced Mesa!

Stan is great! We had a list of annoying items around our home that needed fixing, but that we never had time to get around to doing. We called Stan and gave him a day the following week and a time that was convenient for us, and he was at our front door at exactly that time. The biggest item was an 8 foot high by 6 foot wide, double pane 200 lbs + Arcadia door that is extraordinarily heavy, but over time it had become so difficult to pull open or closed that I found it difficult to do even putting my back into it with two hands! Stan was able to find a way to make adjustments to it and the screen door so that it glides open or closed with one hand now. We had obviously tried the WD-40 route many times with no success, and if these adjustments hadn't worked the entire wall of glass would have had to come out. Avoided a HUGE expense! He also leveled all of the European hinges in the kitchen and bathrooms cabinets, lubed and did a regular maintenance on our garage door, our front door had a separation in the woodwork (you could see daylight through it) and he caulked the gap and matched the stain so you could not see the repair, and also a few other nuisance items such as a leaky faucet and another outside door that would not close. He is very personable, friendly, fair with his prices (we were happy with our bill) and also gave us some tips on a few other things that we could do. We will be using Stan again in the future and recommend him if you need an all-purpose handyman.

Handyman responding promptly, quoted a price, scheduled a date and time, and everything went accordingly! Our front door was repaired. I appreciate that they able to accommodate my schedule to come out on Sunday morning. Definitely recommended!

Best handyman service ever. Nathan cam over gave me a bid, which was more than reasonable.  He completely my list of repairs with expertise.  I was very pleased with the whole experience.

Mark was a pleasure to work with.  Excellent work, great attitude and reasonably priced. Couldn't have asked for more.

Mr. Garcia came to my house ASAP. He  did a quick nice job cutting in pieces an old dishwasher which could not be removed in any other way. He worked carefully and quickly and cleaned up the work area. I will be using him again soon for some drywall repair, painting and plumbing work. I highly recommend you get a quote from him and try him on your next home repair.

Mike showed up exactly when he said he would, got right to work without wasting any time and did a good job. You can't ask for better than that!

Steve was more than I ever could have asked for, and I will 100% be calling him back out as soon as I figure out where I want pictures/artwork, and another set of curtains put up.Not only was he able to work around my limited schedule and make time to come help the following day, but he also was able to help me with so many things in such little time. Originally I had asked Best Buy how much it would cost for them to put up two TVs on the wall and it was going to be around $150 per TV. Steve charges by the hour and since he's extremely experienced in things like that, it took under an hour for each, AND he was able to help fix things I had honestly forgotten about- or didn't know if he would be able to help with- such as fixing my entertainment center that was wiggly and has misaligned drawers thanks to ikeas crappy installation. Not only was Steven fast and friendly, you can just tell he genuinely loves his job, even with the plethora of tasks that it may include. I would absolutely recommend him anytime, without hesitation! Great work and always kept in communication with me. We had some conflicts in timing but because he kept in constant contact we made it work. I had to have my subfloors in my bathroom repaired and he gave me a fair price and even went above and beyond in waterproofing the section. Highly recommended!

We had Dave handle a couple of projects around our house that we weren't willing to tackle. He communicated well before and during the projects, showed up on time and his rates were reasonable. The jobs were well done!

I had an antenna  This involved attaching to screws to the wood on the side of my house and drilling a hole to string the cable through the wall and into an opening that already existed inside. He did this well and was very polite, but the price of $192 was too high for these economic times.  Especially in the post recession economy when those of us who need services are not making this much money.  Oh, and the $192 was after I was given a $25 discount.  He did a great job and even hooked up Hulu, which took quite a bit of time as he had to connect to Samsung.  If you have alot of money, I would recommend them.  If you don't, you need to find another service.

Will definitely use again. He installed 4 ceiling fans and a dining room light perfectly. Definitely had the best pricing out of anyone I got an estimate from. Highly recommend

Tom is a fantastic professional to work with and a gem to find in Anthem. I had a sliding door issue that many other handymen didn't think they could do, but Tom was able to fix the problem easily while charging a very reasonable price. On top of that, his professionalism is unmatched. He responds swiftly and politely as well as gave a specific time and window to when he would show up. I really appreciate working with Tom and will use his service any time in the future.

John helped me with fixing my bed slats on our king bed. He was very responsive and professional, and did a great job and his price was fair. I would definitely use him again for any jobs that I had.

Jeremy was on time, and ready to work. He did a great job and was very fairly priced.  Does great work and can do whatever you ask of him.  I had mainly electrical issues and he knocked it out quickly and efficiently.  For any task around the house i would call Jeremy again!
