Jesus was awesome. I needed four ceiling fans installed, switches and led celling light assemblies changed. Reached out on Saturday evening and he responded quickly. He came to see the work and estimate it on Sunday. And was doing the work by Monday. And on top of that he saved us a couple hundred dollars in comparison to some of the estimates I received.

Sterling & I moved into our new home, and we're so grateful for the amazing, efficient work that Mark's done. He installed a new electric panel and GFCI outlets for us. He's reliable, deeply experienced, communicative, and on-time. Happy to recommend him for new homeowners! (Also, he's from Huntington Beach and has good hair!)

Everyone Deserves a Reliable Electrician

Rory Higgins is that reliable electrician. If I could only hire veterans, then I would! I have the highest respect for the veterans. They are patriots, honest, disciplined & reliable. Rory learned everything he knows in the Air Force where he was working on sensitive projects. Rory has been my electrician for a long time. He has had his business for 4 decades. He knows what the hell he is doing! He is not the type of contractor who puts Shiite on Shingles & does a Tijuana Style of patch job! He is detail oriented, trouble shooter & reasonable in cost.

This time around, I needed him to replace a sensor motion detector outdoor double light in the driveway, install a new double floodlight in the patio, create a new outdoor metal pipeline covered line to the floodlight, create a GFCI outdoor outlet & line to the BBQ island & outdoor refrigerator, create a separate outdoor GFCI outlet, switch & line to the outdoor lights in the patio (separate the lines to distribute the weight), uninstall an old rusted hanging outdoor light in the patio & cap, cup & cover the wires, also replace a couple of old outlets in my office. So, I waited for all of these electrical jobs to pileup & then I called him to schedule me.

Rory is a decent, softspoken good man. Right away he scheduled me as soon as he could which was pretty fast. He showed up in the morning & tackled all of these tasks, one by one until afternoon when he was done.

In the 90 Degree heat, I sat outside & watched him work for hours when I could easily go inside & allow him to be alone. He was already heat exhausted from his past 2 jobs in prior days. It was so hot that he used 2 fans to not overheat!

I observe my contractors for a few reasons:

I. To make sure they do not screw up my house.

II. To learn something from them.

III. To evaluate their work, so I can write accurate, informative reviews.

I hire a lot of contractors & I try to do my research, background check, BBB, licensing, consumer report & read reviews before hiring them, so primarily I do not end up with a lemon or worse, a contractor from hell! In addition, I do my contractor investigations, so you don't have to do it; therefore, when you read my reviews, you can hire the reliable contractors with a peace of mind.

What I notice about Rory is that:

A) He uses top notch material
He uses proper metal pipeline for outdoor & even indoor (read my last review when he done my garage), metal casing & reliable parts.

B) Right away he trouble-shoots the problem
Due to experience, he precisely or approximately pinpoints the problem right away. There was a short in my patio. Sometimes when it rained, the lights & the refrigerator in the island popped out & I had to reset the GFCI outlet in the kitchen where they were connected to, so they would pop back in & work after the rain. Rory took care of that issue by separating the lights & island lines & getting both of them off of the kitchen GFCI; however, as soon as he looked at the situation, he made a logical guess that the old rusted hanging outdoor light is more likely the root cause of the problem, so I told him to eliminate it. He took it off, trashed it & capped the wires & close cupped it.

C) He is detail oriented
Rory works fast but he takes his time to do a thorough job. Every single task which he does is done right. For instance, the way that he bends the pipe covers, connects the joints, silicones the connections, & comes up with ideas to secure the circuits.

D) He is honest
Rory always states that he does the job right, the first time, so he can go home with a clear conscience. He doesn't cut corners, makes sure the job is done right the first time & he primarily gives you an approximate estimate of the cost.

Rory done the job right, done it fast & gave me a special discount.

I usually come up with the best contractors in each field. I know Rory very well. He does super work with ethics & reasonable prices. He is a knowledgeable electrician with work ethics. He surely passed my perfectionist taste & test, many times over. Hiring him will not be regretful. Rory Higgins knows his job well.

After speaking to over 8 electricians (seriously), I decided to go with Frank. His easy communication style and very reasonable costs sealed the deal. We were able to agree on a date and time easily and he met us at our condo with no hiccups. Yes, someone that actually comes on time (he even came early) does exist, though rare, and Frank is his name. He changed out our bathroom fan, installed a chandelier, and changed out the switch in a very timely manner. He had extra materials (switches) which was nice since we didn't have anything. He was incredibly courteous and his attention to detail surpassed mine (rare).

Overall, it was an extremely pleasant experience. I can't recommend him enough. He is our go to electrician from now on.

It's hard to find a good electrician in San Diego, but Julian and Marco were great.

Great job installing a 240V and 50amp outlet in our kitchen to allow us to upgrade our professional gas range to an induction one. He also installed another 240V line to a new heat pump water heater (allowing us to replace our gas water heater), all without needing to upgrade our 100amp panel. Jose was responsive, professional, reliable and the price was unbeatable: highly recommended.

The team at McWay Electric did a great job hanging my lightfixtures on our sloped ceiling. They were affordable, responsive and had a great attitude even when they had to come back due to me ordering the wrong kind of fixture the first time. The electrician who came out could not have been more polite and mindful of us and our needs. Really nice guys! I highly recommend them!

Dean and his staff get 5 stars from me.  We were recommended by a friend who also used Dean's Company to install a kiln in his house.  So he came highly recommended.  He answered all of my partner's questions about different light bulbs, light fixtures options as well as suggested where and what would look good for our house.  His staff were professional, courteous, and they clean up after themselves.  We are very happy with our new lights and our house looks so much more modern now.   I highly recommended Dean and his company.

I had them install an outlet for a hot tub, my EV charger and an 120 volt outlet. Kevin was prompt to respond and was very knowledgeable. The work was completed on time and they did a great job. I'll be using Kev Co again should I need more electrical work done.

I WAS IN SHOCK!!!

I had a relatively small electrical job requiring the installation of two new sconces and the replacement of two existing ones, replacing an existing wall dimmer and mounting a separate wireless dimmer on a wall. Using wiremold, the ENTIRE in-wall wiring would total about 12 and right above existing dimmer switch!  My common sense estimate was that it would probably take two or three hours.  

The good - Point Loma Electric was very responsive and the man who arrived to give me the estimate was professional. Because I didn't use them, I have no way of knowing the quality of their work.

The bad is inexcusable- I was then handed an estimate for the job of slightly over $2500! I questioned the technician about such an outrageous quote and he told me unexpected surprises could occur. I  challenged him to come up with one even slightly reasonable example of that on my job. He could not.  He also stated that they were not the cheapest in town. Quite the understatement!

I then proceeded to request estimates from other electricians. Each one ranged from about $500 to $700. I priced out all the parts on Amazon and purchased them all for slightly under $100.  I then proceeded to hire an electrician. I supplied the parts and he quoted $500 for labor. In slightly less than three hours, the job was completed perfectly and professionally. To me, there is no ethical way to charge $2500 for a job that virtually all competitors quoted 80% less!  Buyer beware and definitely shop around. I've attached the estimate to this review.

Awesome job! A++ I absolutely recommend Luke and his team for any electrical job! Luke answered me on Yelp right away and was very communicative throughout the whole process. Came out the very next morning and completed the light installation in a timely manner. I will definitely contact LTE electrical for any future work!

Repeat customer here! We recently moved and asked James to add recessed lighting in our new home. We needed lighting in every room except our kitchen. Once again, James did an excellent job with the installation. He came over the next day after we asked him for a free estimate, and then came back the following day to complete the work. He installed the lighting in 5 rooms, sliding switches, and completed drywall repair in 6 hours. Only had drywall repair in 2 of the rooms. Don't ask me how he does it - I'm baffled that he can do it so quickly and efficiently!

James is honest and quick to respond. No funny business with him. He doesn't overquote you on cans and recommends only what you need and is an expert at figuring out what you need. If we ever move out of San Diego, we'll need to fly him out to do our lights because there is no one else I trust to get the job done. :)

My wife and I are first time home owners, and as such our construction budget is miniscule. James Moriset was very understanding of our budget concerns and worked with us to provide us with top notch construction and renovation work. His rates are very competitive and workmanship is top notch. His work was quick and efficient - he has built us a great trelis system in our back yard and took down an old drop ceiling in you kitchen, and replaced much of the old ceiling beneath. I can't recommend him enough.

Joe the electrician came out he was great. Fixed some of our broken outlets. It was raining and was a Sunday and they didn't even charge me extra. He was very courteous and highly efficient.

We contacted HG electrics on Saturday morning and they were able to come out on Sunday morning. Greg quoted us on the phone and his price is very reasonable compared to another company we called. On Sunday, Greg only took an hour to fix our breaker and other electrical issues. We would definitely recommend HG electrics for future issues.

Had a job to install a 240 outlet for an EV vehicle and to install a traditional outdoor barrel sauna.  David was very responsive, in time, and had great communication.  He also was very creative was able to finish my job in a short period of time.  I would highly recommend him and his team.

Had an issue with an exterior garage outlet that stopped working suddenly. Sent multiple requests out to Electricians for quotes. Most were overpriced and honestly gouging customers. Ramon responded quickly that he couldn't get out for over a week but offered some advise of potential easy DIY problems. After a few minutes troubleshooting he helped resolve the GFCI issue and probably saved my family $300+ dollars for a none issue. Highly advise anyone who is ethical enough to help people whether or not the get the business.

EV Installs SD is a must for installing your EV charger. I urgently needed a Tesla charger installed ASAP since my car was delivered a month early. They came two days later on a Sunday morning and surpassed my expectations. They went over and above by installing a higher than needed amps. This would accommodate future needs of a longer range car or multiple EV cars. My sister recently used this company for her EV charger install and had a great experience as well. Thanks Edward!
