I try not to write negative reviews. Greg came and did the work, but he was incredibly rude and impatient with me and my family. I have never dealt with this degree of rudeness so I feel I should tell others. He will do the work and charge a reasonable rate, but you may have to deal with a toxic personality.

I highly recommend Greg.
We had an issue with our living room & dining room ceiling lights both not working. I described to him on the phone how it happened, and he seemed to have an idea of what the problem could be. He arrived I and gave him a quick spheel of our place and the lights.
Right away he went to work on our dining room lights and within MINUTES [when I say minutes, I mean maybe 1-2 minutes. Maybe less because I was multi-tasking with work] he figured out the issue and the lights turned on. Turns out our dimmer switches were crap. Similar with our living room lights - again, it took him mere minutes and the living room lights started to flicker on again.
Didn't take long at all for him to replace our switches and ensure our wires were secure sense our living room light had a loose wire as well.
He was done with everything in about 40 minutes.
On top of that, I appreciate him taking the time to answer all the questions I had. You can tell he's a literal expert in this field of work.
Very professional, yet calm & easy demeanor which made the process even more comfortable.
Many thanks to Greg! We no longer feel like we live in a dark cave.

Five stars for honesty and ethics
I called thinking that I had a major electrical issue going on with my home, after talking through the issue with Greg, he told me what he thought it was, which was literally a 10 second fix on my end, that as an untrained individual, I would've never figured out.
Many would have came out, troubleshot it, fixed it, and charged me a few hours of labor, or even worse.

Outstanding customer service, quickly responded to my request and was able to fix a few outlets quickly! Will certainly call again and can't recommend enough!
Greg came by to help with a NEMA 14-50 outlet installation. He was on time, did quick work, and the result looked great. A NEMA 14-50 outlet is commonly used for Level 2 EV charging and he made sure I had the right equipment for the outlet that I'm asking to have installed. Appreciate the thoughtfulness and would definitely consider again for other electrical work.

Greg replaced the old can lighting in the ceiling with the new LED's with a cover. He also put dimmer switches on and a doorbell! More importantly, he called my tenants to let them know he was on his way and they loved the efficient work he did. The fees were very fair, all around honest professional. Thanks for making me look good to the tenants Greg!
Greg was awesome. He promptly answered my first call, and scheduled an appointment for the same afternoon.
He quickly found the electrical issue of my panel, provided the solution, and asked me if I wanted him to do it for me. Since I was able to do that fix by myself I just got his guidance on how to do that. He did not charge me anything.
You know when working through our complex world it feels great to recommend your guy coz he's your guy for that particular task... No need to google just text him? Meaning you trust him and he does great work. I now have my electrical guy. Gregg is a treasure, he's responsive (a rarity nowadays) his pricing is very competitive and he delivered on time and on budget. His work is first class and he even vacuums and cleans as he works. I can't recommend him more than by saying that...I got an electrical guy...Gregg...he's great and he'll look after you.

Greg did an excellent job. He communicated with me leading up to the job, consulted with me about the way the home theater should look, and the job was flawless. I'd highly recommend him.
We needed to change out a circuit breaker in our breaker box for a new oven we had installed.Gregory was very prompt to respond to our request. He was very reasonable and professional. We highly recommend HG Electric. We will use Gregory again, if we have any other electrician needs.
Greg quoted me a fair price and then he did the unimaginable....told me a time he would arrive instead of the bs windows many use and then showed up exactly on time. I needed two ceiling fans installed, a challenging task since my house doesn't have an attic or crawlspace. He installed them and then his price came in under the estimate. Can't get better than that and he didn't totally destroy my walls and ceilings. All went perfectly. VERY highly recommended....continues to be my go to electrician and will for the foreseeable future.

Greg was one of the most reliable and responsive contractors I have used. His work is excellent, he is timely, and charges fair prices. We ended up being out of Greg's service area but that said, Greg responded to my inquiry quick and easy. Such a stand-up and professional guy who pointed me in the right direction for someone closer to my home. I reached out to Greg for an overhead fan install. He visited and gave me a free estimate, which I accepted and he scheduled the job. The day of the appointment I unpackaged everything for him and prepared the area. About an hour or so before his arrival I received a text message from him. It said he was on another job and couldn't make it, offering to do it on some future date. Later he just ignored my text messages and finally texted he was no longer interested in the job. My wife and I liked this guy, so I hope whatever is going on works out for him. Maybe it was just too small a job for him or he just had a really bad day.
Very efficient and responsive. Came out to complete the work within 2 days of contacting him. And he showed up on time with all of the required materials. Very pleased with the work and will be using again for any electrical work we need.
Greg and HG Electric team are the BEST! Greg went above and beyond (x10) in helping us get our new home setup and fixing numerous things we needed to have done. The list was long but to name a few: we had 2 fans put in with wall remotes, every outlet (plate and receptacle) in the house changed, power updated for a fridge, stove and hood we had replaced. He fixed every bathroom fan and light in all 3 bathrooms and hallway lights. Plus lots of outside outlets and GFCIs we needed in the kitchen and backyard. Really, the list goes on and on. He even made sure to note where we needed an additional fire/smoke detector and offered to put that in (but we are having home security system come and they will provide that additional detector) and he made sure that all of our outlets were child proof too!
Greg and team also put up 2 flush-mounted lights for us (in a dining area) that I purchased on the internet and once the lights were up I realized were too small, so he kindly took them down and he will be returning to hang the new larger ones (and a 3rd fan) once those have arrived.
There's no one else I'll ever call for electrical work.
I got a response within minutes and arranged an appointment for the next morning. Gregory showed up early, assessed the problem, fixed my recessed light and replaced my 3 others to match brightness, at a significant reduction in price over the home centers. It was quick, painless and a good bargain.

We hired Greg to install 3 pendent lights and one chandelier. He did an AMAZING job for us. His installation was super clean, he made some great recommendations on where to place the chandelier and his installation actually made the fixture look even more elegant. He was great to work with and charged a more than fair rate. If you need an electrician, Greg is your guy.
Greg came out the day after I called and efficiently installed an electrical receptacle for a new grill in our barbeque island. Took less than an hour and had all the materials etc to complete the job when he showed up. I will call him again the next time I need an electrician.

Requested a quote on Yelp and Greg got back to me in what seemed like 10 minutes. I asked to have a ceiling fan installed and it looks great!
Not much more you can say other than services rendered were exactly what I was expecting. I will be calling him again soon for some other electrical projects I have in mind.
I do most things around the house myself. When it comes to electrical work, I leave it to the professionals. And no one exemplifies professionalism like Greg. Punctual, efficient, and bested all other electricians I talked to to give a fair price.
My project was to get a 240v install to run a big air compressor. Greg even offered to set up the compressor cable when it arrives. Now that's someone you can trust and have a beer with. Thanks, Greg! High recommendations from me.

I found Greg on Thumbtack and scheduled him to come install a ceiling fan for me in an upstairs bedroom. Unfortunately, when scheduling him I didn't even consider that the radiant heating coils in the ceiling might be an issue - didn't even cross my mind as I was communicating about the work I needed done. When he got started, he discovered the heating elements and explained that installing the fan could damage them and that he didn't want to risk that unless I didn't plan on using the heating anymore. Since I do like having heat in my home, I decided no to proceed.
Greg was super nice, very communicative, very professional, and very forthright about his concerns re the heating elements. And he didn't charge me for his time to come out and get started. I will definitely have need for electrician services in the future and will definitely be calling Greg when I need them.

Greg installed light fixtures and a new outlet on our wall to mount our TV above the fireplace in our new house in Rancho Bernardo. He did an amazing job and we will definitely use him again in the future.

My kitchen wall outlets didn't work at my rental house, flipping the breakers didn't remedy. Also overhead kitchen fixture has some tubes dimming. I am absentee owner living in another state from job site. I picked Greg from Thumbtack because he always responded to correspondence immediately.
Greg told me upfront that he charges $100 for first hour, $75 every hour after. I was gonna use Yelp's highest rated 5 star Premo but Premo wanted $150 upfront, non-refundable, before they will even make appt to come to my house. Then still costs $150/hour. Then Premo said they couldn't come for another 1.5 weeks. Others wanted $29 to diagnose and THEN give estimate.
When I gave Greg the job, he was there the next day. Greg was great. Tenant said Greg showed up on time, got to work fast, was helpful. Did everything he could to investigate. He even rewired the ballast near the refrigerator.
Greg just billed me $100 for his 1 hour that he stayed, after he was done, cos I am absentee owner who cannot pay onsite. So simple and reasonable and DONE, now. Thank you, Greg, 10 stars!
Contacted Greg Sunday morning and he was at our house in just a couple hours and knocked out our project - installing and connecting electricity - to three outdoor ring cameras. We've neglected this project for weeks and I was glad to have Greg be able to make this happen so quickly and on short notice. They work perfect, he was on budget and provided us a great quote to start with. Highly recommend HG Electric for any of your needs like this.
If you need an awesome electrician, Greg is the man to call. He helped our family with our old and new house remodel. He rewired the entire house to code, put in pendant lights, cabinet lights, outlets, coach lights, basically redid the entire house electrical, with excellent workmanship.
If you don't want to deal with a large company with large overhead, Greg has all of the experience and expertise to do any electrical job needed, including changing out electrical panels.
Our family is thrilled with the work and results, and very happy to have met Greg and saved money as well!!

H G Electric was great. They came to fix our problem right away. It was raining and he wore booties to cover his shoes before coming in the house, which I thought was very courteous. He also explained what the problem was, and what he was doing to fix it. I will definitely have them back in the future for any electrical work we may have.

Greg did a fantastic job installing our chandelier. I reached out to him after talking to other electricians who either didn't know how to connect the wiring and/or didn't have the equipment to mount a light fixture on a 22 foot ceiling. The fixture had 32 separate wires which needed to be stripped and connected in order for the light to work. Greg was able to complete the job in a day.

To begin, Greg was responsive (unlike many of his peers in the industry). I called several electricians based on their yelp rating and he was one of just a few who actually responded.
He came on time to give me an estimate, gave me a competitive quote on the spot, and stuck to it.
Lastly, he was dedicated to getting the job done. When there was rain, he worked Saturday to accommodate. When he got sick, he toughed it out.

Greg did a great replacing a GFCI for us. Quick to respond, showed up on time and got the job done at a fair price!
Greg does quality work. He installed 3 pendant lights in the kitchen with a new switch leg. Also fished and installed a new Ethernet jack. Would work with Greg again.
Greg was awesome. We contacted about 20 different electricians to install our Tesla wall charger. We got prices that varied from $200 - $1500 depending on a lot of different factors. Greg was very reasonably priced and was by far the most responsive of all the various companies that we contacted. He responded almost immediately and was able to come out to do a quote within a couple of days. He even came on a Sunday morning to do the installation. I highly recommend going with Greg. If I have any electrical problems/needs in the future, I will definitely be using him.
Greg installed a nema 14-50 plug for my tesla. Even though this was not an easy install, he still gave me a great price and did an excellent job. Would absolutely recommend him for any of your electrical needs. Thanks again Greg!
I was highly impressed with Greg's professionalism. I had called several places for an estimate. He got back to me right away and came out quickly for an estimate. His estimate was impressive for a quality job and he took some time to educate on my different options. He returned a few days later to install a chandelier, fix and update an outdoor outlet, several lights switches and hide some outdated stereo wiring. I would not hesitate to contact him again for any of my electrical needs.
Bathroom outlets stopped working even resetting the breaker didn't fix it. Craig was wonderful , fast and did the trouble shooting in less than an hour! Love how he suggested that I get a hair dryer that has lower watts.

Greg was very responsive to my initial request and we quickly scheduled a work date. Greg tackled the installation of three ceiling fans and a dining room fixture. All four rooms required electrical drops in the ceiling as part of this job.
Greg knocked out all four rooms and overcame a few challenges due to the lack of access in the attic for two of the rooms.
I was highly impressed at the workmanship Greg displayed and the overall cost to value of the work is spot on. Greg completed the job as quoted. Any future electrical work I may require, HG Electric is my go to electrician.
Greg installed a 240 outlet in my garage, a ring doorbell, and replaced a broken door chime the same day pretty quickly, would definitely use again.
Greg was an absolute pleasure to work with. I left a voicemail for him and received a call back within an hour with a SAME DAY time frame (30 mins) that he could be out to change our breaker.
Very professional on the phone and he was able to fit us into his schedule with the time frame our tenant gave us. When I checked in with the tenant he told us Greg was a cool guy.

I was having problems installing a ceiling fan and was suspicious of the electrical work that was existing in the room. Greg quickly fixed my fan and found a stray live wire that was dangerous. I would definitely recommend using HG Electric if you need some help from an electrician.

I needed an electrical outlet installed in the garage for an additional freezer and Greg did an amazing job. The outlet and circuit breaker were handled great, but he also (offered to and) helped me move the freezer into place and noticed the electrical plug on the freezer was bent extremely out of place, and straightened it out, plugged it in to see that it worked. Professional, great work ethic, and highly recommended, I will definitely call again for future electrical needs.
Greg was great. We had him do our recessed lighting and shopped around for a contractor for months. Greg was always willing to discuss pricing and was open and honest about how we can save money. Once he did our lights in our common areas we were so pleased with his work and pricing that we had him come back do all our bedrooms. More than 40 lights later, our while house was changed.
The work didn't stop there, we had HG electric come back and comply rebuild our main electrical panel, troubleshoot some odd electric problems and wire our garage for a lighting and refrigerator. Greg was always fair and honest with his prices and did a great job explaining what we could do save costs and future problems.
If you want a fair, honest, electrician who will help you navigate cost issues then HG Electric is the way to go. I have 10 years of construction experience and have completely renovated my current house, and very few people take the time to work openly with there customers the way Greg did. Five stars!

Dryer went on the fritz, wasn't getting enough power (it seemed). Contacted Greg for a quote. He was back to me in less than an hour (on a Saturday). Reasonable price, came out and inspected the breaker box and found 2-3 issues in how that was done. Greg didn't only address the issue with a positive and professional attitude, he did extra things like talk on my level about was was crazy about the way the box was wired, cap some exposed wires, and mark one wire with red tape for easy recognition later. He also walked through the house with me to look at the wiring setup and explain what was good/not so good. These may be expected from an electrician , but not all of them take the time or have the patience. Class act, 5 stars. Will be working with Greg again.
Greg was on time, the work was completed promptly and correctly. Greg is very knowledgeable and made a couple of minor suggestions to improve the job beyond what I had originally asked. He cleaned up his messes and was very kind and professional. His price was very reasonable.

Great pricing and Greg was available to do the job way faster than anyone else I had quote the job. Will certainly use H G again in the future.
We contacted HG electrics on Saturday morning and they were able to come out on Sunday morning. Greg quoted us on the phone and his price is very reasonable compared to another company we called. On Sunday, Greg only took an hour to fix our breaker and other electrical issues. We would definitely recommend HG electrics for future issues.
Greg is a true professional. We had a fairly extensive punch list of electrical items, and he was able to tackle them all. Very knowledgable, great work, and timely. Could not ask for a better electrician. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

I hired Greg to install a couple of outlets and to hook up my security cameras. Greg is a really nice guy and did exceptional work. I will definitely use him again when there is a need.
Greg was amazing! He came to install an EV charger for my car and helped me install my 65 TV. He was quick to respond, gave me an estimate over the phone after a few questions and came 2 days later to complete the job. The work was clean and tidy...exceeding my expectations. I know I'm going to have a few more jobs in our new house and I'm not going to bother calling anyone else. I can do a lot of things around the house, electrical is one I won't mess with so I'm glad I found Greg.

Greg quoted and completed a fairly big job of changing out a 60 amp service to a 200 amp and a swim spa run and hook up.

Greg was great, he was referred to me by a friend. I needed a motion sensor light, two new exterior outlets on a switch and a breaker for my hot tub with it also re-wired for 220. He was able to complete the job on time and for the quoted price. The hard part for me was placement, I did not know where was best and why it would be best. His work on reconfiguring all my outlets, switches, new breakers , and 3 outdoor motion detectors , exceeded my expectations on time. Greg was very professional and efficient in figuring out the problem with a flakey circuit breaker. Parts of those circuit were powering a microwave, a refrigerator, and several outlets. He responded quickly to the Yelp request, took key information, asked for a photo of the breaker box, and was all set when he got here. He confirmed the problems and swapped out the breaker quickly. And that fixed the problem. I would definitely call Greg with any home electrical problem in the future.
Had a faulty exterior GFI and needed an electrician to replace it. After looking at Angie's list, most of the recommended electricians were larger company's and looking at the reviews they all wanted to up sell something else. Found Greg on Yelp, an independent who would fix what you asked for without the any sales pitch. Charged me $150 which was pretty fair, also checked another circuit for me as well. Made an appointment, came early (wow) and repaired what I needed. Would definitely hire again!
Greg was prompt and professional. I had an issue with voltage in a wall plug. He fixed that and then took the time to check the breaker box. I had some rusted breaker and he replace those too! He was very thorough. He was so good I asked him to check some issues at my mom's house. She was happy with him too. She is very hard to please. And he made her happy.
Greg does great work. Completed everything we asked. Responsive, clean, fast, below budget, and flexible scheduling. I couldn't ask for more. We'll definitely call him up for future jobs.

H G Electric was fast to respond with a estimated quote for inspecting a problem, replacing circuit breaker, and inspecting an outlet wiring. Came out on a Saturday and completed the work fast. Cost was much less and reasonable compared to some other quotes I received.
Gregory wired and installed a ring floodlight cam for me for a very reasonable price. I am completely satisfied with his work. Highly recommended.
Had Greg out to do a job running some coaxial up the side of a two story condo, across the attic, and down an interior wall to a new outlet. On the outside the cable needed to be contained in conduit. Reasonable price, results look great, respectful and easy to work with. Initiated contact on a Thursday, he was able to come out and do the job on Saturday. Great! Would hire again, happy to have a go-to electrician.
Received an immediate call back and scheduled me next day. Installed a pendant light and fixed a GFI. Was probably the quickest electrician that's ever worked in my home. Definitely knowledgeable, professional and delivered on what was requested. Would absolutely hire again.

Responded very quickly to our call, was able to come out the next business day, and did a thorough, professional and clean job on the project for a fair price. HIGHLY recommended!
Looked on Yelp at a couple electricians. One quoted 150 for the first hour and 100 each hour after, and the others were closed due to Black Friday. Called Greg from HG electric around noon on Black Friday because we had numerous outlets not working that we needed immediately for our home business. He was here by 2PM THAT DAY and everything was fixed by 3PM. He even found other issues that are potentially very hazardous. We look forward to working with him in the future. The service was very fast and good quality.
Fast reply, prompt scheduling and a great job. Had three ceiling fans installed and they work beautifully. Note that the quoted price is for cash or cheque...additional charge for credit cards. Would definitely hire Greg again should we need anything else!

I contacted Greg as I had six outdoor speakers to install under the eaves of my house, along with a couple of electrical issues I'd been meaning to address. He responded within an hour to my Yelp request for quote. He was easy to schedule, and even arrived early when the installation day came. I found Greg to be an excellent electrician. He quickly problem solved the inevitable issues that arise with any installation. He took the most efficient route in everything he did, while maintaining quality. I was beyond happy with the installed speakers and the professional way they were set-up. And, my faulty light switch is also repaired and working correctly for the first time in years. High recommend Greg--he is knowledgeable, considerate and has a great attitude in terms of doing quality work.

I needed an electrician to figure out why a section of my house was not getting electricity. I emailed atleast 4 electricians using yelp and also called one. Only Greg responded and that too within a few minutes. He was able to schedule an appointment for the very next day and offered very reasonable rates. He messaged before arriving and was very punctual. Even before he got here, he told me what the problem might be and it just took some time to chase it down. Once the problem was resolved he tied up all lose ends and was very professional during the whole time. I would definitely recommend him and am extremely satisfied by the work done.

I've used Greg for a number of projects and couldn't be happier with his work. After getting a few pricey quotes I came across HG and called. Greg returned my call in a timely manner, answered all my questions, and offered a very reasonable rate. On the agreed day, he arrived on time and completed the work efficiently and was really nice about the extra fixes I requested while he was here. He even came by on his own time to check on a project during Mira Mesa rush hour --if you've experienced it, you know that's a big deal. Save yourself some time and give Greg a call first!

Greg was on time and ready to work. He asked about my problem and was very informative on the problem and solution. He was so on point and quick, I kept him around for about an hour with a couple other small jobs I had on my list that left to do. I will gladly bring him back to help out on any electrical issue. 3 outlets replaced in an hour, a couple other ideas on expanding my electrical, and was reasonable with the price. I WONt do electrical on my house since I am not certified, so I'm glad Greg was available and reasonable.

well he sounded ok on the phone, then he said he would be over two different times , each time I took time off from work each time he called with an excuse why he could'nt make it
I hired Greg to install a new electrical line for our hot tub. He showed up on time and took great pride in his work. He thoroughly explained the process and options to me and completed the job on time and with with quality. I highly recommend Greg for any electrical needs you have.
