SolarFix treated me like family....

When an error message and a red light appeared on the inverter screen of my 12 year old solar system indicating the inverter was not working, I called the manufacturer to see what to do. They suggested changing a couple of printed circuit boards in the inverter which was easy but did not solve the problem. After further analysis by them over the phone they told me the inverter's  mother board was "fried" and that I needed a complete new unit..... about $5000, but they were "out of stock" with a six month backlog for a replacement.  That's when I called the original system installer (who happens to be the largest solar installer in AZ)  to see how soon they could replace it with another brand.  They told me they were so slammed with requests for complete solar systems that it would be about 9 months before they could get to a repair like mine! So upset was I that I had an expensive 12,000 watt solar system on my roof that I couldn't use, I called the two other largest installers. Never heard back from one of them and the other one was supposed to send me a quote for an inspection and never even did that!  It seemed to me that the big companies were more interested in selling a complete new system than repairing an existing one.  After a lot of research, I found five smaller companies who are certified for solar work. I called them all and heard back from two. One came out and gave me an extremely high quote. Another had a somewhat lower quote, but still in the $6000 range. I never heard back from the other three.  Fortunately,  one of the managers at my original installer felt badly about the 9 month wait  and directed me to SolarFix LLC in Surprise, AZ. From the moment I spoke with Laura in the service department and Mike Craig, one of the owners of the company, I knew I was in good hands. Mike came out to inspect and test the system at no charge. He and his partner, Cameron, asked why I wasn't re-furbishing my faulty inverter. I told them I had spoken to the manufacturer several times and they never suggested that nor did I think it was possible. It was then that they  called and spoke with the inverter manufacturer from my home and told me after the call   that their electrician, Miguel, would  remove the inverter and that I should  contact the manufacturer and make arrangements  to ship it back and  get it refurbished. The bottom line was that I shipped it back the next day, had it repaired and returned in a little over two weeks. Miguel and Cameron came out to reinstall it and start it up the next week.  The readings I have seen on it tell me it is producing energy like it was new. I recognize that I don't have a 10-year warranty that a new inverter comes with, but when I learned from the manufacturer that when one of their inverters under warranty goes bad, they often ship the homeowner a refurbished one, I felt that I was likely to get many years of good life from the refurbished inverter at one-third the cost with a replacement time that was almost immediate compared with waiting months for someone to generate a quote and install a new one. The work by SolarFix was quick, efficient and they treated me like family by directing me to a much less expensive solution. These days, it's almost impossible to find a company that acts and responds like SolarFix did for me.

Tony came to our house for a consultation, mind you, we just had some questions about an improper installation and were looking for some answers. He didn't have to do this but he did it anyway.
He is extremely  knowledgeable, extremely friendly and you can tell his sincerity is real. He wasn't trying to SELL me. He was trying to EDUCATE me and gave me the information we were looking for.

We did a 3 week interview with 10 solar companies. We were concerned about getting a reliable honest company that stood behind there product. Marc was our sales rep from streamline solar. He was one of the first we talked to. So we had lots of questions and needed educating on solar. Marc had lots of patience took the time to answer everything we had. No pressure sales, just honest answers. After much consideration we decided on streamline . Albert was our account manager, he was absolutely great too. He worked with us until we were satisfied with the layout, he was with us through the process and continued to answer our questions. We had a issue and streamline solar was great! They  took care of the problem quickly and throughly. The quality of people that work for them speaks volumes. We have been throughly impressed with streamline and would highly recommend. I would ask for Marc he is excellent and will help you thru the process.

Great solar company, very responsive friendly staff. We've had our solar for one year and would recommend it to everyone (well if you want to save money).

I made the mistake of only taking price into consideration when choosing this vendor. My sales representative was outstanding. He was patient, prompt and a great partner through the selection process. Once he turned it over to the company to deliver it has been a horrible experience. No communication. Abysmal follow up. I have had panels on my roof for 17 days doing nothing. When I reached out to understand when they will be put into service I was told they had not submitted the request to my power company. The customer support person said that could be an additional 30 days. This company hounded me to pay but once that money hit their account it was see you later. I referred my brother in law prior to my concerns and have since warned him to seek a professional organization.

They seem to be out of business, so perhaps the review is a moot point.  However, the slick presentation of the salesperson (who is no longer with the company) did not result in a good overall experience for me.  I was promised that electricity purchased from APS would be at a flat rate of .09 per kWh, and I would sell electricity back to APS at a flat rate of .12 per kWh.  I knew it was probably BS at the time, and I repeatedly asked if that was accurate.  They assured me it was.  And...no.  I'm on a standard time-of-use plan.

I consider this purchase to have been a major financial blunder on my part.  I bought the whole package, when I should have just bought solar directly with competitive quotes from multiple vendors.  I should have also first addressed the root cause of my high electric bill - inefficient, old air conditioners.  Now I've got to pay this huge loan off, and I am replacing the AC units on top of that.

Getting the ducts sealed was great, but it's kinda dumb that they don't CLEAN the ducts before sealing them.  The Nest thermostats will not be compatible with my new AC units.  Two of the Philips HUE bulbs have failed, and should be under warranty but I don't have a receipt that lists the date I purchased them.  Extra attic insulation is great, but that's an easy project I could have done myself.

Update- with all do respect, everything you've listed below with your response is incorrect but thx for your feed back.
The most important scenario is cust svc especially a NEW cust and existing.
Never the less your rant is incorrect, I've left you a VM as you did me while I was working as you are now closed~ no one is being non responsive, I'll await your contact @ the Oregon/Washington number that is valid. Not everyone moves and changes their contact number.

To think I called you first because you had almost 5 stars google but Yelpers feel otherwise smh~ don't allow me to interrupt your day or whatever you were doing with a new customer inquiry

We installed a solar water system by this company in July 2010. It cost $6000+, roof mounted system. Was sold as a low maintenance system that we shouldn't have to do anything to but check the ph once every 8 years. Well less than 3 years later î it seemed like the system was draining water out the overflow all the time, we finally called them in 2014, and they came out to determine that the thermostat was bad. This was covered under warranty, however the labor was $500+.  Now it is winter 2015 and we are getting very little hot water even tho the pipe is hot. Called a plumber who would not touch it. So back to calling them out, $150 just to come out for 30 min! Now the mixer valve is stuck and he is installing a one way valve to prevent the cold water from entering the hot water line.  So why was this not done in the beginning???  My advise is steer clear of this company. I could have bought a new hot water heater every year for what I have spent!!!

Great company--say what they do and do what they say. Very professional and polite electricians. We did a service panel upgrade along with some circuitry. So far, the work is excellent. We are going to contract with them to a a full ground-based solar upgrade.

Nothing but a nightmare! We had our roof replaced and the solar panels removed and replaced by one of their approved contractors. Then the approved electrician came and hooked everything back up again. BUT NOTHING IS WORKING NOW! Is it Sunrun's fault, the contractor, the electrician? And probably the worst thing about Sunrun is that in customer service, NO ONE SPEAKS ENGLISH. Even that chat is by someone with extremely limited English skills.
