Pur Solar & Electrical has been serving customers throughout Yavapai County, including Prescott, Prescott Valley, the Tri-Cities area also including Sedona, Cottonwood and the Verde Valley since 1974. We are an Electrical & Solar contractor in the residential and commercial field and have electrified thousands of projects over the last 40 years.

HISTORY


Established in 1974.
Our company was started by Mike Purinton in 1974 and is now ran by his son Travis Purinton. With these two you get the best of both worlds young and older ways of doing thing. A lot has changed over the years and that is why we are always changing including our name. We are now call Pur Solar & Electrical. That is all that has changed we still offer the same great service and 100% satisfaction guaranteed. We still service all of Northern Arizona.

ABOUT BUSINESS OWNER


I grew up in the business and started working when i was 8 years old next to my father, it is the best way to learn this business. Since then have been to school and have several certifications in PV Solar and Electrical. At-least twice a year I go to trade shows to get up to date on the latest technology and learn about the new products that are coming out. I have worked on project from hotels to hospitals to your day to day service work. I enjoy this business because everyday is a challenge and something different.

Research well. We love our solar. That being said, we also bought a house fan and two garage fans. When the install of the fan was done somehow the tech had a 2x4 fall through our closet sealing not just one hole two. Pur solar sent a guy out to patch the holes and then today a painter. Did I mention this happened in August. We had to clean up all the installation amounting to 50 lb trash bag full. Had to throw out clothes away that just would not come clean. We asked for a discount and they gave us $100 off of all we paid them. I asked if they could give us $200-$500 discount and was denied.

They put two holes in our ceiling and took them almost 2 months to fix the damage, when asked for some compensation for having to clean all our clothes for two days that were cover in insulation, and all the hassle they put us through they gave us $100 off the $32000 bill and wanted us to pay over their web site that charges 2.9 percent for using the card.
Management could not even call me, they had their billing department do all the calls. Oh they also told my wife that they feel we have been compensated because they fixed their damage they did.

Had two great experiences with one of their electricians "T". We decided to install a small heater in our bathroom and scheduled that same electrician to do it. Unfortunately he was ill on the day of the install, so I agreed to have a different tech, "S", do it. Huge mistake. He damaged my freshly painted wall unnecessarily--first, by pounding on it with his pencil eraser to check out the studs--left black divots in the drywall. I said "I have s stud finder." He replied, "I have one in my truck."  Right.

Then after he was done, he said "you'll need to do some repair."  Sure enough, he had started to cut in one place and decided to move to another, leaving a gash in the wall. Lots of small scratches, and a gap between the edge of the heater frame and the drywall.

When I called the office to explain and try to resolve the issue, the response was "I discussed it with my boss and we will send "S" back to repair the damage he did." Are you kidding me?  Fearing further damage, I decided to repair the wall myself.

Great company--say what they do and do what they say. Very professional and polite electricians. We did a service panel upgrade along with some circuitry. So far, the work is excellent. We are going to contract with them to a a full ground-based solar upgrade.

DONT USE PURSOLAR.  I PAID THE OVER $30,000 when they said they were done. They weren't actually done and when the electric company came out to install the meters the electric company said the job wasn't done and left. That was 10 days after. PurSolar said they were done. Now I have to wait another two weeks for the electric company to come out. This has costed me a lot of extra money to wait for APS. If Pur solar did their job right the first time this wouldn't of happened. APS doesn't even care either!

I would love to give a minus but not able to.  If you are looking to get a solar system don't buy from this company.  They are a joke.  Their website says they have been in business for over 40 years yet they can't afford to do a job unless you put up 80% of the cost before they start.  There is something wrong with that picture.  Their salesman was very professional and represents the company very well but when the contract arrives that is another story.  Thankfully we did enough research to have another company to fall back on.  So by all means shop around and don't let this company rip you off.

Came out for an emergency situation and had it fixed within a couple hours whereas no one else would answer our calls.

What ever system you install, be sure to get on the APS net metering system where your energy is stored on their grid for future use later on.  APS' 2017 proposed new billing system is not conducive to solar power users taking away many $$$ advantages of net metering.  INSTALL NOW before this drastic change is approved.

Waited 2 1/2 hours for a no show appointment, AGAIN!!
I was called by Tommy to see what could be done to make me a satisfied customer. He talked loudly over me as I tried to explain and he just argued instead. First, he said I had agreed to the fan in the back, then said he knew nothing about a problem, then finally said he knew I was unhappy because I told him before he left the install day. If he was unable to do it as originally explained to me, I would not have had the work done in the first place.  Noise was my number one concern, energy efficiency was second to that, and I specified that as we walked the house initially for the quote.
I was called by the young lady in the office last week and told they would come and remove the fan and refund my money, she made an appointment with us for 6 to 6:30 a.m. on Monday, June 27th. She made the appointment so early so it wouldn't be so hot in the attic for the electrician.  
We moved our appointments around to accommodate this time, we got up while it was still dark and waited patiently as 6:00 a.m. came and went, 7:00 a.m. came and went and 8:00 a.m. came and went.  My husband called the office and left a message on the machine, no one answered, and they called back at a little before 8:30 a.m. saying the technician was sick and they would have to reschedule the removal. The last time I waited a week for a response and didn't get a response until, coincidentally, I posted a bad review for no return call on Yelp. I just want the fan removed and my money refunded.  The other electrical work they did do for me works fine, I love my whole house surge protector, I love my can lights in my kitchen and the light in my pantry and coat closet. But I don't like waiting for no one to show up at an appointment they made with me. That's bad business. Hopefully I will get a return call to schedule another appointment and someone will actually show up for that one. We'll see.

They took on a very difficult and complex job of doing all the electrical for a floors-up renovation of a run down car wash in Sedona, Arizona. We installed all new state-of-the-art wash equipment equipment, a new electrical service, an outside touch screen express terminal, as well as doing numerous electrical repairs. Some electrical contractors were scared of it because of the complexity and the amount of analysis as well as sophisticated installation work needed to do it right. They did an excellent job and held to schedule, and later installed additional equipment to help reduce our power consumption.
