Best Flooring Contractors in Arizona

Do not book services through them. At first, this family business seemed like a great option for me, as I needed to use my vinyl for them to repair and redo my stairs. As a first time homebuyer, I was lost and really needed guidance about what to do.

1. The stairs originally had carpeting with a skirt. Where the skirt was, the drywall was damaged from pulling the carpet off. They told me to replace drywall and THEN they would do stairs. I did that for $500 and then when they finished the stairs, they left the drywall completely damaged again (see pic) the risers were also left completely unpainted, saying they don't do drywall or painting. I ended up paying $470 more again after the project was complete to finish paint and drywall. I later learned that a stair skirt would've solved my issues. I was never offered that and now it's too late. Why was the job not finished??? Why wasn't I given my options of a stair skirt?
2. My initial project start date was pushed out over two weeks because the installer had a family thing. When they gave me notice, it was for the next day at 7am. I WFH and had to move a lot of meetings (which is okay! I would rather get this project done). Well at 12pm I had an important meeting that could not be moved, I asked the installers to take a 1/2 hour break. I got a scathing email from Marilyn basically saying "you don't tell our workers to stop working!" -- how do you let your installers work partially outside in AZ without a break....
3. I had to bring my own materials to their office (40 min away) and had to get things measured 2x. I also ordered a doorway reducer which was completely left off the project and never made. When I asked about it, they made me try and measure the doorway and bring them materials--isn't that a contractors job? How am I supposed to measure the height of tile vs vinyl in a doorway (which is millimeters) isn't this part of the service?
4. Installers were not made aware of a specific area to do, so when I said "yes that part is included" I got yet another scathing email from Michael / Marilyn saying that I was telling the installers to do extra work. They clearly have communication issues.
5. When installers came back to redo some vinyl that was lifting, they tried to guilt trip me, saying "we did this area and didn't know we were not supposed to do it so we never got paid" -- sounds like their employers problem.
6. When I tried to get them to come back and fix that spot, Michael called me and absolutely BERATED me on the phone. I'm not kidding-- my whole family witnessed it. He yelled at me saying I was trying to cheat them out of the project. What I was simply trying to say (and could not get out because the owner Michael was literally SCREAMING at me. ) was that I was not going to pay until they came back and made a reducer and fixed the lifting vinyl. They wanted me to again run the materials up and measure myself for their communication lapse (I have emails to prove I included a reducer). He stated he would send his lawyer after me if I didn't pay ASAP --again project was not complete.

To the installers: please create your own business on Thumbtack so you don't have to work for this company. You work hard and seem to not be treated as well as you could.

Overall, if you are a women or someone who does not know a lot about Millworking, please please look to book elsewhere. I am traumatized from Michael screaming at me and the communication between multiple family members and installers for this project was an absolute mess. I ended up letting them know that I could only email from them on. STAY AWAY!!!!! Get everything in writing!!!!!

I love my polished concrete floor! It is life changing to be rid of the nasty carpet and have quick clean up and durable floors with three kids and a dog. Very easy to clean up! These guys were prompt and very professional! I would recommend them to anyone.

I had this company come do laminate flooring, base boards and door mouldings at our house.  They did a great job and they did it quickly and for a really reasonable price. I will definitely recommend them.

These guys are great I've used the to day some minor repairs in the past and just recently used them to replace my floors in my home. They did a great job I couldn't be happier with my new hardwood floors they look great. Thanks Frank!!!

This is a great company! Very professional and thorough. We worked with Brooke who was extremely helpful, professional, and friendly.

We hired Josh and team to install flooring to match our main areas and extend into the bedrooms.  In our view the price was fair, and the work done was on time and executed very well.  It is fairly rare that a contractor shows up on time, stays on budget and finishes on time.  In our case the work was done faster than we anticipated, which is a great bonus.

We are glad we used Bare Renovation.

Our experience with Custom Floor Covering was a disaster and required legal involvement. First the quality of the workmanship on the hardwood floor installation was defective, and although they ultimately admitted their mistakes and remedied some of it, the time, aggravation, mess, and disruption that resulted took a heavy toll on us. It required taking it up and reinstalling it. We have multiple residential and commercial properties, and to have this get to this level is something we are not used to. Additional damage to adjacent ceramic tiles occurred, and the experience to that point was hostile and difficult, and we were uncomfortable and mistrustful by then, so letting them repair the damaged ceramic tiles was not possible.

Despite attempts to pay the majority of what we owed them, they fought us on deducting the cost of the repair for the damaged tiles. A civil lawsuit resulted, and unfortunately this was during COVID, and our reasonable attempts to reach a settlement with mediation were refused by Custom Floor Covering, Inc, and it proceeded to a virtual trial. This was a mandated virtual trial limited to only one hour, handled by a Justice of the Peace who had never passed the bar exam, and was dominated by mistruths stated by the owner and employees of Custom Floor Covering. I had only a few remaining minutes of that hour to even make a stab at getting to the truth. Unfortunately, the truth never could be shown, then another 70 days went by before a "judgement" was rendered, and it was full of factual mistakes, demonstrating a lack of understanding by this "judge". We then filed a motion of reconsideration, basically just asking her to show us her calculations and get the numbers in her math accurate. This request for reconsideration was denied with a one-word response, "DENIED". There were enough mistakes in the handling of the case at the judicial level that we certainly had grounds to appeal it, but again there is a risk and additional expense and time involved, and at a point, we decided to just cut our losses and give up. Normally not my preference, but we were sick of it.

Custom Floor Covering, Inc, their owner, and their employees will deny all this and say we were too particular, and they will say they went out of their way to agree to what were "our unreasonable personal preferences", and they will deny there was any damage and improper installation whatsoever. That is what they stated at the trial and wrongly it was accepted. Sadly, justice is not always done at any trial, and there is always that risk when you go to trial, but we felt badly violated and assumed a reasonable approach, photos demonstrating the damage, would all logically be understood and make sense. It wasn't, so I bring this up so that anyone considering flooring of any kind will not have to suffer the same experience we did. There are so many reputable companies out there who put the customer first and make their best effort to please you. Mistakes can happen, and we don't expect perfection on the first attempt, but we do expect people to be responsible when they make a mistake and take the necessary steps to resolve it. We expect them to be honest, truthful, and not lie. This was everything but that, it can be much better, and I urge anyone to avoid Custom Floor Covering, Inc. and all the misery they caused us.

I have photos, videos, and abundant documentation to fully support everything I have said here, and I will be happy to share them with anyone to prevent experiencing this unpleasantness.

The owner Greg was so awesome to deal with! We've had so many issues with contractors lacking integrity - Greg was the opposite! Returned all our calls, his crews showed up when they were supposed to and work performed was excellent! Jesus and Milton (tilers) were incredible!!! They made suggestions, asked proactively how we wanted to handle the inevitable challenges that arise in a project of this scale and their attention to detail/resultant work was of the highest quality. Greg and team rebuilt our shower, did the floor tiling and our granite for our vanity.

Reliable, professional, and honest. It's such a relief to find a company who works with different trades and things are done professionally - folks are communicative, punctual, clean, friendly. Such a rarity!

Diego Jr. came in on time, did a great job putting in a rubber strip to hold down our carpeting (as the old metal strip had been coming up since we moved in and we have an 8 month old who's ACTIVE). He was very polite (the other company our complex hired were rude and they claimed we pulled up ALL our carpet) and he just generally did fantastic. We are impressed! Thank you Diego Jr and Puckett's!!! You deserve your high rating on Yelp. Now my baby can crawl around with abandon without fear of getting a nail in her tiny knees.

What an amazing experience ... Sam and his entire staff were absolutely great , when doing a major renovation there's lots of stress Sam answered all my questions and even my texts at times I didnt even expect him to respond. Sam/Pelleco made it so easy and painless ... the work is top notch , will definitely recommend Sam / Pelleco , you will not be disappointed.

I had my house tested for Asbestos and contacted Zona Restoration to come and remove it.  They did a great job removing the asbestos.  All thanks to Kayla my project manger.  She was great and very responsive when I called.  Great experience and all the people involved were awesome.  I highly recommend this company.

Showroom is unimpressive and the prices were not as low as one would expect from a discount shop. This place is more for diy'ers then someone looking for a remodel.

my wife bought a laminated from this company and left a deposit of $6200 , after i read some of the review that " i think it was phony  " told the wife may be we should go with another company , she assure me that the bad review is not right , as far i see they are good people and very plied and they will deliver the material on time and that is exact happen, first of all they been in floor covering over 30 years and they have very good installers , and as far as I know (from the same installer ) they install over 20 to 30 homes daily . I highly  recommend this company to every house hold .
