Best Flooring Contractors in Arizona

It took months, nay, years for us to decide on what to do about the flooring in our home. When we bought the house I knew that the carpet was looking worn and would need to be replaced in a couple years. But what to replace it with? There are so many choices today with different styles of carpeting, laminate, wood, and tile. After a few stains (a full glass of pink Crystal Light - that stuff does not come out!) we ruled out carpet. I like the look of wood and so we went back and forth and talked to many people about the merits of hardwood vs laminate. Both don't do well with a lot of moisture and I really wanted the same flooring in the kitchen and main living area, plus the room that leads to/from the pool. So, we settled on tile. A friend of ours has ceramic tile that looks like wood in their entryway so we started exploring those options. Unfortunately, most of the ones we looked at had a wood-ish design to them but really were not going to trick anyone into thinking they were wood. And most were in the short thick rectangular shape (8"x24") pieces.

When we went into Flooring America the first time we kind of browsed around and then left without making any commitments. The sales girl was friendly and answered our questions but didn't put on too much pressure. Once we had narrowed down to the wood look tile we went back in and met with another salesperson who showed us all the options they had. That was when I realized just how many different product choices Flooring America has to offer. The store is just a showroom, they don't have inventory there so that is why it seems so much smaller than going to a tile wholesale place or big box home improvement store. But really they have a huge selection! The type of tile we were looking at ranged in price from $4 a sq ft to $12. We picked a few that we liked and made an appointment for them to home to our home. They want you to see the samples in your own environment with the lighting and your furniture since that is the only way you can tell if you are going to like it or not.

Well, of course I ended up falling in love with the most expensive one they had. It is a porcelain tile made in Italy by Cerdomus (Barrique series, Brun if you are interested). It was the most wood looking because there were a lot of variations in the pattern that looked like natural wood grain and the actual tile pieces had some texture to them instead of being smooth and overly shiny. And it came in a variety of sizes (4X24, 8X24, 4X40, 8X40). Dale gave us a discount as a way of apologizing for missing the first appointment. That was a smart business move since when we were waiting around for him the first time I was already thinking "There's no way we are going to use this company if they don't even show up for the estimate." They were also running a promotion on installation so the overall cost, although very high, was still a good deal since we were getting such a quality product. The main thing I like about this company is that they do it all for you: help with the initial design selections, move furniture and do the demo of old flooring, and install the tile. We ended up using all four sizes to make a really great pattern that looks awesome! The main guy laying the tile was Dale's son and he was very trustworthy and professional.

There were a few glitches with scheduling. But that was mainly our fault since we ended up getting new baseboards (yes, they offer those, too) and then decided we wanted to paint the walls after the tile was done but before the new baseboards went on. So, of course by the time the painters were done the tile crew had moved on to a new job and had to squeeze us in to finish up. Another hiccup was that they ran out of tile (just one size) on the second day and had to order more which delayed things a couple of days. However, the nice thing about that was that Dale ate the cost of the extra tile since he said it was his mistake in measuring/ordering. Another company would have probably tried to pass that cost on to us. In spite of these couple issues the overall process was smooth because of how competent and courteous everyone at Flooring America is. I think we got a very, very high quality tile at a reasonable price and it looks really great! There are a few spots where the tile is not perfectly level (hence minus one star) but so far we have gotten a ton of compliments from friends and family and I am very pleased.

Regina was awesome to work with! She was super patient, knew just what to recommend, gave her honest opinions, didn't try to sell us on pricier product, and answered about 100 of our questions without complaint. We were able to check out a couple of samples to take home and make sure we like the coloring, etc. We were absolutely thrilled with our experience at Floor Depot and look forward to working with them.

This place is absolutely amazing. I had a terrible experience with Lowe's and Home Depot when looking to renovate my kitchen. I did some shopping around at other local countertop places but Veny was simply the best. Veny helped us out the entire way and was there for EVERY STEP of the process, sharing his expertise but never pressuring a sale. He shows up on the job site to make sure things are running smoothly and his employees are top notch people. We even asked if he could install a backsplash and new flooring for our kitchen as well even though we had already bought the materials and he graciously agreed. If you're looking for ANY COUNTERTOP or home remodeling needs, do yourself a favor and come here FIRST, these guys are the Real Deal.

Russ was very easy to communicate with. He responded very fast and remained in contact throughout. I needed lights to be hung up because we were having a religious celebration. I needed something temporary and did not care much for how well they were hung up so long as they withheld the wind and lasted till the next couple of days. Russ not only replied quickly but was able to come within the same day and was so helpful even making suggestions for how to hang the lights in a more permanent and stable way. The price in my opinion was very reasonable. I highly recommend contacting him for anything you need.

Cesar and his dad make the dynamic duo. They were professional, always in constant communication and hard workers. They got it done so quickly and efficiently and stayed within our budget. Will definitely have then do our bathroom when we are ready. Highly recommend.

We have been buying carpet and flooring from Jeff at Floor Depot North for several years.  Jeff recently supplied us with a high end laminate from Shaw for our whole house (except for the bedrooms and bathrooms). It is soooo beautiful,  and it's just gets more beautiful every day.  I swear you can't tell it's not real hardwood.
About Jeff, he is the most honest, knowledgeable, and easy going person we have ever dealt with.  Jeff's prices are very reasonable in fact I believe they are better than the "big box" stores and you get personal service.

Q is literally the best handy man ever. Ever since the first day I hired him, he has tackled all of the crazy random jobs I've thrown at him quickly and professionally. I don't even feel right calling him a handy man as he is way more than that! On top all of that, he's super sweet. I will miss him and all of his amazing work when he leaves California. Damn you Arizona for stealing Q from us!!

Recently work with them to do the flooring, I found Jeffrey and Steve very honest and professionals. There where nice and easy to work with them. I highly recommend them for further projects to family and fiends.

Brian and his crew did a great job! We started with a bathroom remodel and added a kitchen remodel, and they finished the job within a few weeks. Brian was very quick to respond and their bid was highly competitive to others.

Well since everyone has been staying inside for almost a year a lot of people are looking to doing some home improvement! This review is by far the longest overdue review ever! (Since I've been doing updates slowing to my house with this team for 11 years!)

The most recent job Caleb completed I think is now my absolute favorite! A white subway tile backsplash in the kitchen and complete new carpet in the bedrooms.  The "refresh" of the white subway tile in the kitchen is amazing, it makes it appear larger, cleaner and updated with such an easy project. The best part was Caleb and his crew. Every-time I work with this team they make it so easy. Timing, completion of work, quality, efficiency, professionalism of everyone doing the work- they are the best in the business. They have now completed granite through my kitchen and bathrooms, foyer hardwoods, refreshed & updated my fireplace & added a beautiful wood mantle, hardwoods in my kitchen, carpet twice, and now my subway tile back splash over the last 11 years. When Im ready to do some updates I always call them! They have treated my home as if it were their own- thank you gentlemen for all your hard

We hired Tyson from K and B Remodeling to do our master bath and kitchen. I cannot say enough great things about this company. He gave us a schedule and kept to it. He always kept us informed throughout the project. The finished product turned out better than I could ever imagine. I Would highly recommend him and this company!

I needed a new contractor to do some renovations on our new home so we turned to Yelp and and found shepherd contracting. We used Thomas and his team when my new home needed some updating. The communication was above and beyond. We love our new bathrooms and will post updated photos soon!

I had an outdoor patio wall commissioned through them and it came out spectacular! They put up the wall quickly and efficiently, and I was really impressed with the work! Will be returning to finish patio floor and likely much more!

Apache Tile Outlet was recommended to me by one of their previous customers and is THE place to go for professionalism, great customer service, and quality, for the BEST price ANYWHERE!  Ben and his crew, Julio and Jesus, just finished installing my granite kitchen counter top today and it's SPECTACULAR!  It's only been 11 DAYS since I first found the slab of my dreams to today's installation. There was even enough left of the slab to cut a top for my guest bathroom to install later on. Ben goes out of his way to stay in touch and makes sure you get the best deal possible without sacrificing quality workmanship. When searching for flooring options, this is the place to go! My husband and I recently purchased a home that was in need of new flooring (both laminate wood and carpet). We went to several local places (even family friends who have a local company in Scottsdale) as well as a couple of national/well known companies for several weeks before choosing AZ Flooring Direct. The reason for our decision to go with this company was the no pressure sales we received from the minute we walked into the storeroom. Jim is amazing, knowledgable, friendly, and gave us some great advice. He was very patient with us as we had a lot of questions since this was the first home we have purchased and the first time we had flooring done. The man that installed our flooring, John,  was incrediably professional. trustyworthy (we even left him at our house alone, as my husband and I had work conflicts). He performed the installation as if he was doing work on his very own home. VERY impressive!

It has taken a while to post this review on here because we have been so proud of our new floors that we have been showing them off to everyone:)

I came across him on Yelp and was very impressed with all of the excellent reviews.
We just moved into our home and needed to get our bedroom carpet cleaned in addition a sofa and love seat. We had to split up the work because of moving constraints. Rob went above and beyond and was able to accommodate us on two separate visits. He is very professional and courteous and does an outstanding job with a smile . We would highly recommend Rob for going the extra mile and providing 5 star service.

Used Handyman Connection to have a bridge made. It came out perfect. A year later, I noticed some of the wood had rotted. Called owner, Allen Hopkins. He listened, sent someone out, who replaced rails with cedar wood. Looks great!
Great service and clean up was very professional

These people are awful to deal with... even for contractors. We had water damage in the kitchen, and were going through insurance to get the repairs done.Matt N doesn't adhere to scheduling, doesn't communicate, and will tell you whatever you want to hear, and then not back up his statements. Jake W wanted to rip out all cabinets in the kitchen because they wouldn't "be able to match the color"... yeah, that doesn't sound like padding the bill, aka insurance fraud! The one star is because I can't give zero stars. Avoid this company!

Got my carpet done by express and they were reasonable priced and on time. My experience with them was a good 10 and this is the company I will always use in the future.
