Best Flooring Contractors in Arizona
Poor customer service!! I have been a customer of this store & location since the 90s. I've had carpets, tile & wood installed in 3 different homes. This year Flooring America lost us as loyal customers. We ordered carpet &wood for our bedrooms. The wood was backordered. The one problem that upset us was the lack of communication. No updates unless I called. Understandably the updates wouldn't be pleasant since the back order was over a month but the money was paid & had they been proactive it wouldn't have gotten contentious. I was promised an inspection when the work was completed along with cleaning tips for both products. Funny after money paid they failed to fulfill their promises. The products purchased are really nice but as a loyal returning customer I expected & should have received premium customer service instead of just a premium cost. No recommendations from me. The one star is because the floors were installed.

Highly recommend! Russ was amazing! I put in a request on a Sunday. To my surprise I received a response immediately. I had a TV mount that had gone wrong and was causing quite a bit of damage. Russ was quick to come out, fix the wall and mount, and hung a chandelier in my kitchen. He also noticed my front door was incorrectly installed and took the initiative to fix it so it no longer sticks. I cannot thank him enough!

I couldn't be happier with the floor selection and quality of their products. Jeff is very honest and professional . He is always there in case more material is needed. I very highly recommend his business and advice. Jeff also connected me with a very professional floor installation company; they both communicate to give excellence in service.

Hands down, Q is one of the best out there - he's honest, hardworking, knowledgeable and very trustworthy. I referred him to my family members as well. Easy to communicate with and no project is too big or too small from electric, plumbing to installing tvs, I would highly recommend him to everyone.

The technicians arrive A few minutes early and got right to work. They did a great job, going over areas that needed extra attention. We are very happy with the quality of work. They aren't the lowest price, but in this case , you DO get what you pay for. We would definitely use them again in the future. Wish we found them sooner!

The team at Builders Flooring & Design has done a great job of coming up with a design for cabinets in our laundry room and key drop areas. They helped me stay within budget, get high quality cabinets, and installed in a timely and efficient manner. Unlike projects done by other vendors in the past, there were NO mistakes along the way.
I have no suggestions for improvement. Good job, Laurel and Nik!

He always kept us informed throughout the project. The finished product turned out better than I could ever imagine. I Would highly recommend him and this company!

I needed a new contractor to do some renovations on our new home so we turned to Yelp and and found shepherd contracting. We used Thomas and his team when my new home needed some updating. The communication was above and beyond. We love our new bathrooms and will post updated photos soon!

Apache Tile Outlet was recommended to me by one of their previous customers and is THE place to go for professionalism, great customer service, and quality, for the BEST price ANYWHERE! Ben and his crew, Julio and Jesus, just finished installing my granite kitchen counter top today and it's SPECTACULAR! It's only been 11 DAYS since I first found the slab of my dreams to today's installation. There was even enough left of the slab to cut a top for my guest bathroom to install later on. Ben goes out of his way to stay in touch and makes sure you get the best deal possible without sacrificing quality workmanship. I LOVE my new granite countertop! Thanks, Ben and crew, for an OUTSTANDING job!

I am happy for the reviewers that had such great experiences. Mine was not. I will say that the prices on tile were the best we found for the quality. At first, we were going to use our own installer that has worked on several of our flip houses. We changed our mind and received quotes from 3 installers including Flooring Direct. Although their bid was not the lowest, we decided to give them the job. We were told that was a good decision because their installers know how to lay the plank wood-look tile using the thinnest (1/16") grout to make it look like real wood. This was an entire downstairs, 1700 square feet of tile.
When the installers arrived, the first words were, "we were told this house was empty". No, it is a house with inhabitants and furniture. They started the job. I asked them if the grout was 1/16" as we had been told several times it would be. No, it was 3/8". They said 1/16" was not a good idea. We settled on 1/4". When I called the salesperson to discuss this discrepancy, my phone calls were not answered. I called the Thunderbird store. They did not answer the phone for several hours during normal business hours. I finally called Scott, the owner. He said that he would stop by the next day to make sure all was going well. Unfortunately, after a few tiles were installed, we discovered that the tile was the WRONG COLOR! I called Scott to let him know that he shouldn't come by as nothing was done. He reassured me that he would come by at some point as "he always stops by on big jobs to check on them." Well, I never saw his face.
Two days before the job was done, I received a call from Scott stating that he was trying to get an "authorization" from my bank for the remaining balance (half the cost) but that my account did not have enough money in it. First of all, the job was not completed. Second of all, I did not tell him i would be using that same account or card for the balance or give him permission to charge my account. I have several checking and savings accounts and transfer money when I need to. It turns out that it was not just for an authorization, he had taken all the money out of my checking account. As usual, I could not reach him so I left a message that he was not to run any additional charges until the job was done and he had my permission to do so. Of course, he did not follow my instructions. I found out from one of our other vendors (this was a total kitchen remodel as well) that this might be against the law. He said he is only allowed to keep the last 4 digits of a card number. I am investigating to find out if this is true. I called to discuss this with Scott but his mailbox is often full and no messages can be left. I can understand why he doesn't want any messages.
The floor looks o.k. There are several high and low spots. I don't think it was a stellar job compared to others we have done.
Good luck if you decide to use this company.

Olympic Hardwood installed 3000 sq ft of engineered hardwood in our 1950's era home. The work they did was nothing short of amazing. Regina and Rafal spent quite a bit of time assisting us in picking the perfect flooring before we committed. We received a detailed estimate before work began, and when the work was finished there were no surprises in the cost. Work began on the dot the day it was scheduled, and proceeded right on time in spite of an entire week of rain. Their craftsmen were meticulous, not to mention polite and all-around great guys. The flooring has transformed our house! We really did our homework interviewing various flooring companies in the Phoenix area, and could not be happier that we chose Olympic for the job.

Rob did a very good job of cleaning the carpets of my rental property so I won't need to replace any of them. Besides the great job he did, he ran extra trips to pick up/drop off the key and worked long and late hours. The price is very reasonable. It's the low bid of the quotes that we received. I would definitely hire him next time and recommend him to anyone.

Work began 3/2018 remodeling kitchen, master bath, flooring in 4 rooms. No exaggeration something went wrong every step. 1st superintendent quit weeks into the project. He was a big reason we hired this company We hoped it was just sour grapes but came to find near half the company left at the same time to form their own company. He was replaced by Darren who gave lip service to being the best and having no problem picking up the project. Smooth talker, good salesman, horrible project manager. Was almost never there! Only time we'd see him was damage control after we complained enough. Reached out to the owner twice & NEVER a response. He sent our concerns to the same employee we were expressing concerns over, just making things more uncomfortable. CARELESS! So with that I'll list just some of the endless problems: 1.Explicitly asked for and bid clearly stated kitchen & bath cabinets were to be all plywood construction...much of the boxes and all shelves are particle board. When questioned we got doubletalked to make it sound like we got what we asked for. 2. Signed bid said cabinets lacquered for anti-scuff & scratch. They scratch easily and the paint color transfers when wiped in some areas. Refused to do much but say the bid shouldn't say anything about scratch resistance...well it does! 3. ALL the cheap particle board shelving they put in all cabinets is chipped and there's a giant hole in one of the cabinets 4. Plumber (Dion) tightened new oil rubbed bronze tub faucet with rough tool that chewed up the finish and left without saying anything. They did replace it after enough complaints, but their billing and bookkeeping is so bad that I've no way to know they didn't double charge me for this. They couldn't/wouldn't itemize or logically explain any billing, and left things in invoices they never did. 5. Same plumber, sent to install touch activated faucet. Installed as a regular manual faucet and neglected to install electronics.Left again without saying anything. And he took the electronics with him! Then we mention they say woops, but we don't have the parts anymore, don't know where they went?? Eventually they pulled parts from a local supplier. Work but aren't an exact fit for the model.6. All 3 sinks installed leaked within 2 months...asked for a different plumber but they refused to send anyone else. 7. ALL grout used to tile master bed, bath floor, shower had to be re-dyed because the color was splotchy and just OFF. They finally go back to fix, which takes multiple attempts because if we don't point out every spot they aren't going to catch it. Still not great in a few areas 8. They DO NOT clean up after themselves! Brand-new cabinets were so filthy it took days to clean the dust and pencil marks left! They did drywall after cabinets and didn't cover so drywall dust everywhere. They didn't cover much of anything and were ok letting the dust get all over house. Front yard full of grout because they just dumped buckets wherever. Wood glue left all over kitchen floor. Didn't mask cabinets and got paint overspray on walls and left it. Cut wood in yard without covering and left a bunch of sawdust in the gravel. Cigarette butts left all over front yard. Old rusty tools and other trash left. 9.They DO NOT know how to install & grout beveled edge tile backsplash. Took 3 attempts to do acceptably, and only redid because we persisted. First 2 were so poorly done it's insane we had to point out in the first place. 10. Installed the WRONG carpet pad. We ordered high-quality carpet and wanted the quality pad to match. For comfort & the extended warranty through the same manufacturer. They installed cheap Home Depot pad. Tried to doubletalk & say it's equivalent and still have the same warranty (false) and refused to fix. Then said "I didn't know" (say this a lot) but even if he didn't, why wouldn't he ask instead of install whatever he wants? Stood our ground and eventually they changed after a lengthy standoff. We had to walk stairs with no carpet and tack strips exposed for a while... unacceptable! 11. Not only neglected to pull permits, but actively confirmed multiple times they were absolutely not required for the scope of the project...Wrong! Came to find after all was done they ARE required. This is likely to cause a mess of future issues for me. Response was essentially that permits are a money grab for the city and they never get them because it's not necessary and it's what they always do so it's ok. Licensed contractor fine with doing unpermitted work. 12. Took 2 months over projected completion date. And the only reason it's "done" is we won't have anyone from this company stepping foot in our house ever again!

I would strongly urge you to not use Express Flooring. The biggest reason is the deceptive sales practices. Our sales rep spent the whole time explaining how durable the vinyl floors are, they are commercial grade, 50 year material warranty, and even proceed to scratch at the floors with his keys to show their scratch-resistance. However, I later found out that the contract basically says that warranties do not cover any user-inflicted damage. So when I pushed a heavy box across the floor, it scratched the floor and now Express is refusing to replace the damaged pieces (why should they, they're not contractually obligated).
Lesson learned - always read the contract, no matter what the sales rep tells you. Express will make a killer pitch, but just know that even their best floors (which is what we purchased) are not nearly as strong or durable as they tell you.
