I had a very positive experience with SJ Drain & Main recently.  I had a couple of projects that came-up where I needed both a hall bath sink  clog and a shower/tub leak.   Both were done timely and the guys who came out (one was the owner Giovani) were vert professional.   The price was very competitive and I liked the no BS or attempt to up-charge what was really needed to do for the repairs.  I highly recommend them for any plumbing repairs or service.  I know that I will share to all of my friends and family since this is a service that has some companies try to take advantage of people...especially woman and the elderly.   I feel that they sleep well at night because they know that they operate by being honest and consistent with their customers.  Becoming a 5-star company doesn't happen easily or from over-charging or take advantage of people.

I had the typical sewer main line clog. Toilets couldn't flush, and nasty water backing up in the shower. Just nasty! So I did the I can fix it thing and went and bought two gallons (yes two gallons) of drain cleaner. Follow directions to the T, and still nothing.  

So I called EJ Plumbing at 6am, and got there phone service, because they were not open yet.  I expected to leave a message, however they use a live phone service and she was great! She said she would let them know this was an urgent issue. They called me at .......7am, bam! That is service! They then let me know someone would be here between 8-9am. They were here at 8am, if not before. My in-laws were here to let them in. They called me, and explained that since I didn't have a clean out, they would need to get up on the roof to clean it out. They also let me know that it would more than doubled the charge, but that's life. I totally understood. He also let me know they could install a clean out for me, if that was something I was interested in. About an hour later they called, and it was all cleaned out. The guy I talked to ( I am sorry I can't remember his name) was very professional and a really nice guy. My in-laws said the same thing. They even thought he was one of my friends. Overall these are the guys I will call for all my future plumbing needs. This is what service is all about. I highly recommend them.

I had a leaky pipe that was causing water to go through the ceiling.  

I got contacted from Trieu first out of all the plumbers.  He was quick and came to my house hours after posting.  After a little investigating we found the leak.

Because the leak was behind the wall in upstairs bathroom he had to do some cutting to get to the leak.  But all was covered up and you wouldn't even know it was worked on after.

He was very friendly and fair.  I'm happy with the service I got from him and I would recommend him for anyone who has any issues with plumbing.

Excellent work! Michael responded to our inquiry within a few minutes and was prompt to respond with all our  follow up questions. He happened to be available same-day and gave a window of 6-8pm. Michael texted when he was on his way and arrived around 6:30pm. He took COVID precautions and wore shoe covering when he entered our home. After a quick look around, he got to work replacing our faucet and repairing a broken hot water valve. The project was a little more complicated than he planned, but he was still able to wrap up around 8pm. The faucet looks great and is working nicely. The price was fair, the work was professional, and Michael was courteous throughout. We would definitely recommend Affordable Plumbing Services.

Awesome, Khoa solved my issue with hydro jetting. I had another plumber try to snake it out but it couldn't.  Talked to Khoa on yelp about what happened and he noticed that he can fix the clog. It saved me from installing a city clean out. Very honest and highly recommended if you have plumbing issue.

I had the best service from Kim. He did not stop looking for the problem I was having with my kitchen sink until he figured it out. He even replaced some of the pipes. Kim you are the best

Our drains blocked, so we couldn't do washing without a flood. Called Todd, and he came in 30 mins, tried the snake with no success, then used the jet, and after a couple of rounds cleared everything. My wife and I really appreciated his prompt response, and the way he made sure everything was really fixed before he left. Highly recommend his service.

The sewer line from our house to the city main was blocked and overflowing through the cleanout access.  We had someone spend an hour repeatedly snaking it to no avail.  We followed up the next day with Handy Plumbing Man to come by with a Hydro Jet.  After two attempts it was still clogged and I was getting worried.  Branston and his partner (sorry didn't get name, but he did a great job too!) decided to try a 3rd time.  Fortunately this time it showed real progress.  They used the camera to inspect the interior of the pipe and ran the jet through twice more to make absolutely sure that they cleared everything they could.  Ultimately, I'll be needing to replace my line, and there may yet be troubles on the city's end too.  But, they got me up and running when it was looking hopeless, and I could not be happier.

Strongly recommend J&K Plumbing, as it's really as good as it gets in terms of honest service.

Had issue with shower hot/cold water regulation. Previously quoted by another company, gave all kinds of reasons why it's so difficult to fix. I got in touch with Joe on Friday via Yelp. Joe was down to earth, easy to talk to, and explained things in simple terms without exaggerating. Long story short, Joe came to do the repair two days later on Sunday morning. He looked into the problem, gave a price quote and stated right then that he would not charge me if he couldn't fixed the problem. What more could anyone asks for, when you get those kind of assurance. Joe went ahead and fixed the shower problem satisfactorily. Moreover, after he completed the shower repair, I mentioned to him that there were toilet tank leaking issue, which was previously repaired but problems persisted. Joe agreed to look into the toilet leaking problem, and only charged for the parts essentially for the toilet tank leaking repair.  Joe put down a 30 day workmanship guarantee in writing on the invoice he left with me.

We need craftsmen like Joe in all walks of life, who are good at what they do, and earn a honest living providing a much needed service. Please consider Joe next time you have plumbing problems, I know I would.

These guys are the best local plumbers I've dealt with. Responsive, friendly and honest. Had Marlon replaced a leaky and broken bibb and he was super friendly and lightning fast. Thank you Integrity I will be using you guys again in future I'm sure.

5 Star Plumbing knows how to approach a job. We had an issue with our main supply shutoff valve not working. We needed it fix before they can start work. 5 Star called the city on our behalf and got them out within 30 minutes! Then came back and provided top quality service. No more dropping shower! Definitely calling back when plumbing is needed.

We had a very bad experience with this company. They're  not very efficient when it comes to get the job done. They just does what told and not try to help us figure out what the problem is nor did they fix it. So we got charged a lot for something that we ASSUME it was done and still the problem didn't get resolved. Long story a short I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. They're for sure a rip-off . I question their high reviews.

Had a toilet back up. Steve was available same day on a weekend. It wasn't urgent so I asked if he could come first thing Monday morning. Arrived promptly and remembered me from his first visit to our home.

Steve found that our fill valve needed to be replaced. He provided an estimate on the spot, which he already had the parts for. He explained that this would be a quick job no problem, but for the cost, if I were to buy my own toilet, he'd just do this install and charge for labor, coming out to just a little more for a brand new toilet.

He told me it's our choice and either option is fine by him.

We went with the new toilet. I placed an online order for same day pick up at Home Depot. Steve even picked it up for us and came back in the afternoon and finished a quick install.

I said it before and I'll say it again. Steve is the best in the business and has the best prices to boot. If you're not using Local Local, you're already losing.

He's the only plumber getting my business and I'll refer him to everyone I know!

My kitchen sink has been making gurgling sound for like a week, I poured half a bottle of clog remover gel and then the gurgling stopped. When I used my dishwasher, the gurgling restarted and I noticed a minor leak. Steven replied to me in less than a minute after I requested a quote from him, then he sent his crew to my house within 30-45 mins. His crew fixed the noise and leak extremely fast and charged me very reasonable price. Meanwhile, all of the other quote I got is around 200 dollars and they can only arrive the next day.

I had my bathroom remodeled.  The tub, sink and toilet were moved from their original spots.  I had Ed replace the entire plumbing in the house.  In addition, he removed the tank water heater and replaced it with a tankless water heater.  This saved space as well as money.  Great service.  Ed was very professional and I was very pleased with his quote.  Highly recommended!

Addendum to my review of 7/20/21:  I checked the San Jose Permits website and this is the language with regard to the mandating of permits:

1.  It brings accountability with regard to workmanship and ensures the job is done correctly; 2.  It's required by law and illegal work may incur citations and reconstruction costs and 3.  Liability carriers will not cover the damages to or caused by the construction done without a permit.  

Crown Plumbing's estimator told me I don't need a permit and I got 2 substantially different estimates--one in person and one in writing, as detailed below.

I got a reply and a phone call from the owner after I declined the double-the-cost written estimate, who told me the technician should have known better and was basically in error.  After 25 years of installing hot water heaters, the technician, as well as the owner, are likely fully aware that permits are required or there is even a second serious problem.  The permit requirement is the second issue.  The 2,195.00 in-person estimate and the $4,351,00 written estimate an hour later is the first issue.  I will not be doing business with them.  I do not want anymore contact from the owner.

My advice to consumers is get it in writing; check reviews and make sure you have a permit, which YOU, the consumer can get yourself at a FRACTION of the inflated cost.  

7/20/21:  Today I got an estimate in person from Crown Plumbing for $2,195.00 for a new hot water heater...with no permit as permits are not required per their representative and that a permit was approximately $500.00 more.  The estimator indicated everything that he would need to do which included earthquake straps, a line down to the crawlspace, a drip pan, and all the accoutrements needed to complete the job.  The only issue was whether to get a permit or not to get a permit.  The in-person quoted price of $2,195.00 did not include a permit because I allegedly did not need one, the estimator said.  

Then, within an hour, I got a written estimate via email for $4,351.00 which included the earthquake straps, the pan, etc.  Funny how the estimate doubled once the technician walked out of the door.  So an in-person estimate was $2,195.00, then the REAL estimate in writing came in at $4.351.00, more than double what i was told by the company less than an hour earlier.  I will not be doing business with a company who does things like this.  Beware.

My bathroom shower was clogged so I searched someone for help. They solved it within one hour! Very professional and quick service. I appreciate their help

Had a broken kitchen garbage disposal unit that was leaking, and clogged up drains. Both these problems rendered the kitchen unusable. I contacted Kit on Sunday morning. He was very prompt in responding to messages and unlike other plumbers setup the appointment later in the afternoon for the same day. Some of the other plumbers I contacted took a long time to get back and even more time to actually show up.
The job was neatly done within a couple of hours, and repairs are guaranteed for 90 days. Very satisfied with the service and no complaints so far, would definitely recommend this guy over others.

We've been having problems with our kitchen sink backing up off and on for years.  I called Kahn and they came out to take a look at it, and fixed it on the same day. Eddie came out & seemed like a down to earth & honest guy.  I'll definitely give them a call when I have any plumbing problems.

Thank you Drain Masters and thank you Yelp for the service you provide. Called  Drain Masters Saturday evening before Superbowl Sunday because of a clogged kitchen drain. Nice guy answered the phone and said he would have someone out first thing Sunday Morning (Superbowl day), and said the charge would be $125.00. Very nice serviceman showed up as promised  wearing booties over his shoes so as not to dirty my floors. Had my kitchen drain unclogged in short order, gave me a bill for $125.00 and left.  Could not be more pleased with the service I received from Drain Masters.
