I messaged King Kong Public about an urgent leak on my property and Steven messaged me back immediately.

He came out the next morning exactly when he said he would. He identified the issue quickly and in fact, the leak was related to my neighbor's water line vs ours so I didn't even get the chance to work with him further but I am absolutely referring him to my neighbor.

Not only was he responsive and kind but he wouldn't let me pay him for the assessment even though I offered!

I would highly recommend King Kong!

I called Steven one evening asking about my old cast iron sewer line and drain pipes. My sewer lateral had offset and roots, and, my under house pipes were ripe for leaking, with poor supports.

Steven was very kind to explain me all the ins and outs of house plumbing system, and answered all my questions. I was worried about damage to front yard, piping through under the foundation, and long term guarantees. Steven came out very confident and helped make the decision process easier.

Steven was also great at scheduling permits and inspection in such a way that front yard trenches were open only for 2 days. My water supply was uninterrupted and sewer line was inaccessible only for 2-3 hours.

Overall, he did a fantastic job, passed all inspections. I would hire him again for all my plumbing needs and would strongly recommend him.

I talked to pretty much 10 plumbers, and I can confidently say his team is the best. They are very honest and hard working people.

Started with a slow/backed up shower, turned into a full blown sewer line replacement, all works performed professionally, efficiently and at a reasonable cost.

Steven was very quick to respond with my service request, and was able to send out a crew within a couple hours to unclog the pipe. At the same time they were able to root cause the issue using a camera, identifying the exact location where roots have gotten into the pipe.

The sewer pipe replacement was done in less than a day, hardest part of the job was to wait around for city inspector to arrive.

Thanks to Steven and his knowledgeable crew, it turned my stressful situation into something a lot more manageable!

The toilet clogged during the memorial day long weekend. The usual DIY stuff did not work. Our home warranty guys wont treat it as emergency and would take 2-3 days to resolve this. So, I had to reach out to King Kong. They came at our doorstep in 20m. That was incredible and got the job done in another 20 with their specialized tools. Wowwwww.. speechless about Can Lee. He is absolutely amazing. We had about 8 plumbers come, and no one would get their hands dirty like Can did. He figured out our plumbing was all connected in certain areas when no one else was able to do so. He installed a sump pump for us when the crawl space was still wet, when other people wouldn't do that.

He is honestly AMAZING. We could not ask for a better plumber and will be keeping him and Steven's contact info for our next projects.

Also, VERY fairly priced. The best I could find.

I had to switch out my kitchen faucet and Steven was fast to respond. He was able to send someone out within an hour and the installation took about 45 minutes.

I didn't like the placement of the handle so Steven sent someone the next day to fix it.

Had a garbage disposal drain clog on a Sunday evening. I sent out a request for the unclog to several plumbers via Yelp first thing Monday morning. Within just a few minutes of submitting the project proposal for quote, I heard back from Steven at King Kong plumbing. He was available in just a couple of hours, and had a very reasonable price. All other companies had a 1-3 day wait, but King Kong was available same day. I scheduled for 2pm today, but they ended up having an earlier opening and contacted me, offering me an even earlier appt. Since my kitchen drain was clogged and we couldn't use it - the sooner the better for me!

All in all, from initial contact to request a quote to drain opening/unclogging was 3 hours. What awesome service! Friendly, respectful on site, quick, and efficient. My drain is unclogged, hallelujah and THANK YOU King Kong Plumbing!

Plumbing is one of those issues you don't expect to deal with and when you have an issue not only is it stressful to have to deal with the inconvenience, but the stress of finding a reliable plumber one who can be trusted and not try to rip you off is just as big a nuisance.

I was extremely blessed/fortunate to come across steven and King Kong plumbing. I've been going to him and his guys for years, and they are so quick, efficient, RESPECTFUL, but they are very relationally strong meaning they do what they say they will, no hassle, they don't talk your ear off- or make crap up. They do what u ask and clean after themselves, are very polite and hard working.

I know them by there names and Forgot the name of the company because they are so cool and reliable but I had to leave A review after all the help they have done. From small issues - clogged drain, a leak, a backup , a major piping issue they are helping me with- they can do it all. I've compared prices from big name:market companies and will never go to them again. Some guys charge to give u damn estimate - but not King Kong plumbing- King Kong plumbing l has the best price in San Jose and these guys get in- get out- and do a great job.

Can't say enough positive things, and truly hope if anyone is stressed looking for plumbing help- give these guys your business and you won't regret it.

The feeling of relief to use your bathrooms and not worry about overflowing because of a clogged sewer is priceless. Our sewer line started clogging last September. Someone from another company came to clear it out with water jet and that lasted to January this year. Another jet cleared it for a week. A 3rd jet cleared it for 3 days. All this time, root was blamed, and I was told to poor in root killer foam. Nah, didn't work. Although I still have a warranty from that other company, I decided 3 times is enough for this sucker to try.

I reached out to King Kong and Steven answered my Yelp request before I walked away from my computer. After getting some details, he showed up in about an hour to clear the clog, and inspected the line with a camera. A break in the line was found and he set up a repair the next day (today!)

He showed up bright and early with his crew and they spent the whole morning repairing the broken pipes and restore proper flow of waste water. I am glad he wasn't perturbed by having me hovering around watching them and taking photos. There's just so much to learn watching pros work!

I didn't ask around for quotes, but based on what I paid for those 3 cleanings, and the amount and quality of work done today, I do think Steven charged a very fair rate.

I will recommend them to my friends.

Now, anyone wants to buy a couple of bottles of root killers? :)

I was looking for a plumber as my sewage line was broken. King Kong was ready to serve and they sent a crew in less than an hour on a holiday. After various investigations, they identified the problem area. Work started in two days after the holiday. On the day of work, two crews came and worked for over six hours. The job was no small potato as the sewage pipe was a big cobweb of roots from trees! They got the repair done and also had the plants restored in the damaged area. Everybody was happy! Thanks for the hard work and fast service!

We had what appeared to be a leak under the bathroom sink, after doing a lot of cleaning that day. There were new water and moisture spots in the wood that we never saw or paid attention to, before.

I broadcasted for requests/help via Yelp in the late afternoon, and I quickly found myself in conversation with Steven who was prompt to reply and get something scheduled. He came by the following morning exactly when we planned and identified the issue with the faucet. I asked a lot of basic questions, to learn myself, while Steven was here and he gave me clear instructions on what next steps should be and how I can even replace the part myself.

Steven was very easy to work with. We replaced our old pipes to copper from city meter to the inside of the house. Not only were his prices reasonable, Steven was a great communicator and super responsive to any requests or questions I had. The work was done within a day.

We had a contractor install the bathtub after the plumbing was done and realized the rough in valve and the pipes were not aligned with the tub. Steven was very flexible and his team came in ASAP the next day to get it aligned.

Steven was very responsive and professional in fixing our drain pipe leak under the kitchen. Our pipeline's rubber fitting was bit by mouse which caused leakage. Steven was able to tell we can change the rubber fitting from my pictures while plumbers from other companies were all suggesting cutting the pipe onsite which has huge cost. Steven and his crew were able to change our rubber fitting and wrap it with mental cover in less than one hour the next day with very reasonable pricing. Highly recommended and will definitely use King Kong plumbing in the future.

I have used King Kong Plumbing for multiple projects in the last few weeks. The first project was for a toilet replacement and a garbage disposal replacement. They came on time, were very professional and cleaned up after themselves when the work was done. Everything has worked great, and we are very happy with the results.

The next project was to fix a leak on some copper pipes for our water heater. They came out the next day and was able to complete the job within an hour. They were on time and did a great job. I will use them again for any other plumbing project, which comes up.

So refreshing to have a responsive plumber when you need it. I needed a quick outdoor faucet job done because I was having construction on my home, and needed to replace the pipe with a flex pipe. Steven was out the next day and did the job quickly, helping us keep the project going. I needed him to come back the following Monday morning as we only a 4 hour window. He was tied up on an inspection in Fremont (I'm in San Jose), but was able to get a plumber out on time. Job was done right, and affordable. I can't say how they'll do on a major plumbing job but if this job was any indication, I'm sure it'll be done right.

Before the rain came, I was able to have Steven come out to unclog my gutter drain. He did a thorough job first checking the problem and once the clog was removed, he made sure to find the exit point of the drain. For an older home like mine, he used some creative detective skills to find it. Once found, he diagnosed the problem and said it was likely an issue do to an undersized pipe. We did a renovation of our upstairs bathroom and needed a plumber to do the finishing touches such as: reinstalling our toilet, reinstalling our vanity sinks' p-traps, putting the shower faucet trim over our already installed valve, and also installing our rain shower. Ty and Hoang were sensational. They arrived promptly on time. They got right to work very seriously and professionally making sure at all times that we were pleased with their performance. They ran into a couple of equipment glitches that was not their fault (but rather it was ours) in terms of us not having the right materials on hand, but they were able to save the day by going into their truck and getting the materials needed for the correct resolution of the job. When they completed the job that we had originally requested, we asked them if we could pay extra to have our downstairs toilet's fill valve and flapper replaced because it had been running occasionally during both the day and night and obviously needed a fix. When I
inquired how much extra they would charge us for this additional work, they replied that it was FREE!... Who the hell says THAT these days??
In summary, Ty and Hoang were great. The price and quality of their job performance was excellent and therefore I highly recommend King Kong Plumbing and would never hesitate to use them again for any and all of my future plumbing needs. I suggest that all readers of this review do likewise!

City of Sewer did an excellent job with a trenchless sewer main replacement AND repiping under the house. The job was finished extremely fast. Only took 1 day to repipe and do trenchless, and then less than a full day to close the concrete in our driveway once the inspection was done.

Steven was very communicative, responded promptly by phonecall and text, and had the most competitive price of the quotes I got from different companies.

Highly recommended, definitely would work with them again.

We had a clogged toilet for 2 days and the plunger we had did not unclog the toilet at all. We called this place in the morning and he responded very quickly and got in and out within 10 mins and got everything fixed for a fair price. He was very nice and extremely prompt. My pipeline was clogged, and waste coming back to the bathtub and I need this issue to resolved ASAP so I went on Yelp to find a plumber that can help me fix the issue on the same day. I message 7 (Yelp helps by emailing to other plumbers as well). Steven from City Of Sewer was the quickest to respond. Given a decent quote that I felt reasonable, I requested them to come out to fix the clogged.

Thanh from City Of Sewer was able to unclog the pipe, but mention that the pipe from the house to the Main Sewer is offset/broken, which caused the clogged. I asked them for a quote, and ask them when can they start. After receiving the written quote from Steven, I requested them to start the project. Steven was able to submit the permit and have it ready to go on the same day. The team started the project on 5/23 and it finished within 5-6 hours timeframe, today (5/24/2021) we are just waiting for the City Inspector to come and pass the project so that we can close the holes.

Overall, great experience, very fast response time, getting permit and having inspector comes out fairly quickly, good price, and bunch of friendly workers.
Glad I have chosen Steven and his team for the repair!

We had purchased a new clothes washer and found out the drain line was corroded causing the utility drain to back up. After 3 estimates we elected to go with City of Sewer. They would replace the section of sewer pipe for $1000 dollars, but since the house was built in the early 60's, we elected to do the entire cast iron sewer pipe from the house all the way to the curb. They completed the entire job in 2 days with 5 to 6 workers each day. Their estimate was the best of 3 and they used a trenchless system that keeps them from having to dig up your front yard. Steven was there for the estimate and managed the repair which also allowed us to continue to use our house after the first day of work. Hard workers and fair prices with quality work. I crawl under the house on occasion and I was able to cut a second cawl space opening near the sewer line to give them better access with less crawling. My mom has a very older hole in downtown San Jose that had a backup that even Roto rooter could not clear. We called COS for a consultation because they had state of the art equipment which had a camera system to see inside the cast iron plumbing. Yes, back 200 years ago they used cast iron! We were able to look from the inside of the house all the way to the block which was where the house met the street. Unfortunately, we didn't have a clean out because 200 years ago they didn't think to design the plumbing that way. COS was able to clear our plumbing, get a new city permit immediately for a new clean out, and worked with my mom on the pricing to make it affordable since my mom had just gotten open heart surgery and is currently on disability! I am so thankful to this company for restoring the plumbing quickly so the waterlines could be used and expediting everything so affordably!

City of Sewer arrived during the 2-hour window they provided me. Once they arrived, they inspected my kitchen faucet for a leak and immediately identified the problem. Unfortunately, they didn't have a replacement washer that fit, but they told me exactly what to buy/do myself. So I went to Home Depot, got the part, and fixed it myself. Best of all? City of Sewer didn't charge me at all! Most plumbers will charge simply for showing up.

I had a minor toilet leak, as well, and he also showed me the problem & told me how to fix it myself. Again, not a single charge since they didn't technically fix anything!

I highly recommend City of Sewer over any other plumbers in the area!

My kitchen sink has been making gurgling sound for like a week, I poured half a bottle of clog remover gel and then the gurgling stopped. When I used my dishwasher, the gurgling restarted and I noticed a minor leak. Steven replied to me in less than a minute after I requested a quote from him, then he sent his crew to my house within 30-45 mins. His crew fixed the noise and leak extremely fast and charged me very reasonable price. Meanwhile, all of the other quote I got is around 200 dollars and they can only arrive the next day.

So our ceiling started leaking one day and we decided to look for a plumber thru Yelp. Messaged Steven and received a response within minutes . He came in the next day for a quote and fixed the problem the day after! I felt really bad actually cos It was a really hot day! But they were very professional found the issue and fixed it! We had to replace our old cast iron sewer line under the house as clogs became more frequent.

We started looking for a contractor and It was extremely hard to deal with most of the plumbers we contacted. Multiple no shows, no follow ups, quote takes days, inadequate pricing, etc.

We eventually contacted the City of Sewer and it's been a very good experience from the very beginning. Super fast responses from the owner (Steven); they arrived on time, gave as a quote during the appointment and were able to schedule the work for the same week.

The actual replacement took less than 5 hours and we were able to use water in the afternoon.

So far everything works well. Going to work with this company for other plumbing needs in the future.

I had two bathroom faucets that were leaking and needed repair. I requested a quote and Steven got back to me within a few minutes. He came the next day and provided a free estimate. Very responsive and easy to communicate with. The guy who did the repairs was respectful and took his shoes off when coming inside the house. The faucets were fixed and price was very reasonable!

Steven and his team were great! They change our home pipes to copper piping all the way to the main water line at a very reasonable/affordable price and finished earlier than scheduled (all within a day). They did exactly everything we asked them to do. They also raised our water heater up from the floor so that it's up to code; installed a water softener; added a waterline for the refrigerator; and added an outside waterline in the backyard. Given the quote he gave us, we didn't mind buying a few, small items like the cover for waterline for the refrigerator and the pedestal for the water heater.

Steven was so easy to work with. He came on time and finished earlier than expected. He also updated us with pictures as they work. He communicated and clarified with us when needed (which we really like to avoid any miscommunication which is not uncommon in contractors we've worked with in the past).

They really care about their work. They even put the grass back in its original place after replacing the outside line in front of the house! :)

We highly recommend Steven and his team! I'm so glad to find a trusted plumber!

The Sewage drain was backed up and clogged with all the grease build up that we must have put down the pipes. City Sewer came out promply to unclog it. They were very punctial and gave me updates on when they will arrive. Giving me two options Snake or the power washing to clean the pipes. We went with the power washing because I was told it would provide the best results. They were done in a matter of minutes and once done, they checked to make sure that the kitchen sink was no longer backed-up. City Sewer saved the day and I would definetely recommend them for any problems in the future

Steven was our savior this evening!! Our sink was backed up and flooding the garage. I put in a request on Yelp, and he contacted me right away. Showed up within 15 minutes and got right to work. City of Sewer just completed a job at my mothers home in West San Jose. Their estimate came in at just over 5k, another company wanted 17k for the same work. I watched them work, 5 guys came and replaced the sewer line from the house out under the driveway and lawn, to the sidewalk/street. They kept the yard clean and were professional. Nothing sketchy about the company, a rarity these days.

We were really struggling with sewer problems and completely clogged sewage lines. Multiple plumbers couldn't easily detect what was going on. I got referral for Steven from a friend and he said he'll come clean it. No work no pay.

He came within 2 hours, ran snake and hydrolic cleaning and cleaned up once. He then ran a camera through the line and figured that a tree root had displaced the pipes beneath the tree. He asked me to get permission for property line clean out, and gave a very competitive quote.

He then came and did the entire thing (cutting the tree, digging 10ft hole, replacing pipes, and fixing the stuff) in a day. He followed up punctually with the inspectors and got inspection done in a few days and then covered the hole.

He also did a 2 way clean out next to our house for minimal charge.

Steven was a savior in this dreadful situation. So thankful we found him. 5 stars to city of sewer.

My laundromat had a drainage problem on a Sunday morning and as you may know, Sunday is the busiest day of any laundromat. I am submitting this review to assist others who may need this company's services. City of Sewer is excellent!
Steven Ho is both knowledgeable and professional. I didn't have a little problem I had in my estimation a big one! My sewer line was broken in a two places that required having our residential street dug up by the City. The City of Santa Clara employees did everything they were responsible for and more and were extremely helpful. But my job, without finding a private contractor could not be finished. A portion of my sewer line lay broken underneath a 60+foot 75 year old beautiful Magnolia tree bordering our street. City of Sewer came out shortly after my call. I just started with a list from YELP. They assessed the specialized problem, worked with the City and the next day it was repaired. The City workers also found them to be both professional and knowledgeable. And rather Importantly their cost was significantly lower than other estimates and their work exceptional. City of Sewer is now my 'go to' plumbing Company!

City Of Sewer was one of the best decision I made when it comes to plumbing...I called around asking for a quote about my bath tub being clog...The responses I got was they don't have time or it's a small job they don't have time to come right away...When I called COS, Steven was nice n on point of what needs to be done...He was here within the hr and unclogged my tub with ease...Price was reasonable, expectation was met n service with a smile...What else can u ask for...Thx COS for the awesome job...Highly recommended...
