I didn't use their service but based on their reviews I called them to give me a possible solution and estimate for an urgent plumbing need. Basically, the main sewage line was clogged and the water was backing up at the lowest point in the house which was the bathtub. So called simple green for this purpose so that they could unclog the drain.
Contractor who came home did not even hear us and when he looked at the bathtub he immediately started off saying that we need to change our old galvanized pipes. His next statement was that they are available this afternoon or the following day to start the job.
We recently had an inspection and the report came clean as most of the pipes were new and the ones that were old were in a good condition.
When I asked him for an immediate solution, he went to look at the cleanout. Even though every detail in the house said the clog was between the bathroom and the cleanout, he argued saying the clog was from the cleanout to the city's sewage line. This was because he saw a tree right underneath the main sewage line connecting to the city's line. But when toilet was flushed there was no water seen in the cleanout nor the cleanout was overflowing as it lies lower than the bathtub. But you could immediately see water gushing into the bathtub when the toilet was flushed.
Even after questioning him he was gonna put the rooter in the cleanout leading to the city's sewage line versus trying to clear the clog in the house which was even before it reached the cleanout.
Mainly he wanted to sell the video camera rooter option or otherwise changing the pipes. His estimate for putting the rooter was $325 (remember this was in the total opposite direction of the clog) + $200 for video camera option.
We gave up on him and called another plumber after several experiments with flushing and seeing the way how the water was getting backed up in the bathtub. This other company put the rooter from the roof vent as ours was one way cleanout. Guess what!! This did remove the clog..
So stop selling wrong things to customer instead hear what the customer needs to say and understand the problem. If somebody had just blindly agreed to change the pipes it would have easily costed $6K-$8k versus removing the clog costed us $225.
I would give them 0 stars if yelp allowed me to. It was such a waste of time!

Kevin is amazing! I had some plumbing issues, because the house is old and needs a lot of attention. He took the time to carefully explain everything to me, took pictures of the rusted pipes, and helped fix the plumbing in the kitchen and bathroom area. I found him to be very reliable and knowledgeable about his craft. I highly recommend reaching out to him! He also worked on several houses in our area that are being remodeled and was referred to me by my neighbor across the street.

I recently needed to repair my garbage disposal and called Citywide plumbing because of the reviews. I will tell you I was not disappointed. The plumber arrived on time and knew exactly what to do. He gave me a great deal and I will definitely be using them again.

I've used Reed Plumbing on two occasions. Both times they have provided excellent service. They are honest and reliable. What more could you ask for? Customer loyalty!
The firs time I used them to clear some drain issues. Marco noticed that I did not have a proper clean out installed because of the age of my house. I went ahead and had him install the clean-out, which he did right away, and at a good price.
The second time I needed them was on short-notice for a gas line run to my fireplace. I told Marco that unfortunately I was having the gas log set and fireplace screen installed in a couple of days. I had ordered the log and screen a couple weeks earlier but forgot to get the gas line ran to the fireplace. Although I could delay the installation, because the fireplace wasn't ready and it was short-notice for the line install. Marco said he could move a few things around and get it done for me the next day. True to his word, he was at my place by 10:30 am the next day, and had the line installed within a few hours. The log-set and screen were able to get installed the following day. This was possible because of Marco's customer loyalty. Everything works great.
Thanks Marco. Reed Plumbing is awesome! I highly recommend them.

Robert did a great job of getting a beyblade out of the toilet. He was super responsive, professional, and fast. Highly recommend!

Abdu and his partner were fantastic. Most of the other handymen didn't know how to fix my fan speed control, but Abdu knew how to do this and he quoted a great price. Would definitely work with him again.

We have used Art twice and he has been great both times. He is very responsive, very competent and willing to talk you through the likely reasons for the problems. I highly recommend Art.

Very professional, I was really impressed. Very polite and they let me know what was going on every step of the way. They were fast. They were also clean in their appearance and their work, cleaned up after themselves and always wore shoe covers when entering the house, no foul language either. They worked beautifully as a team! They take cards and I got an email receipt with the description on the work they did and the amount I paid. I was really pleased with the service.

Don't trust them! I called because of the good reviews online and their proximity to Los Altos. They also promised me one of their most experienced plumber for the job which was a backed up bathtub-toilet. Instead, a barely prepubescent boy/man showed up. He spent 1.5 hour (1 to take off the toilet and failed miserably at snaking it and another half hour to slowly clear out of the house) then billed 2 hours for the job--oh, a new 30-minute commute for traffic was added because the business has recently moved to East Palo Alto. WTF!! Bait and switch, incompetent, and lies. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS BUSINESS. (Btw called a different plumber who did the job in one quick go.)

J Fisher was referred to me by another plumber. I ways very impressed with their response and their knowledge. Jim was sent to my house to replace some Kohler faucet parts. Jim was knowledgeable, and easy to deal with. I was quoted one hour and he was finished in exactly one hour. I highly recommend these guys - they are now go-plumbers!

I had a water heater installed. I called Henry's Plumbing to get a quote. It was the best quote. So I went to Yelp nothing but great reviews. So they were the best price and great reviews. Of course I had to go with Henry's Plumbing. They came the very next morning and within 2 hours I had a new water heater installed. Ben and Leo were super friendly. knowledgeable and thorough . They explained everything they did and how it works and what to do if I need to change or take care of something with my new water heater, if need be. Bottom line I am sooooooo happy I had gone with Henry's Plumbing if I ever need there services again I won't hesitate to call them and if anyone needs any type of plumbing service these are the people to call , You won't regret it! That's why I'm writing this review. I always love to share great experiences!!!

Called PCE yesterday (on Monday) to schedule an appointment and a technician, Anthony Alvarez, came the next day (on Tuesday) on time within the given time range. Anthony did a thorough check on the circuit breakers and panel. He found the location of why several of the electrical outlets were not working. There was one bad electrical outlet making a sizzling sound, and Anthony replaced it with a new one. He provided me with recommendations and estimates for other work needing to be done in the near future. Anthony was very professional (efficient, courteous, informative and answered all my questions).
Thank you,

I highly recommend Eldridge & Sons Plumbing. Wade Eldridge, the owner, is an excellent plumber, both in technical competence and customer service. I've called on him twice and have been more than pleased on each occasion. In the first, which involved a home drainage issue, Wade & his employee Alan conducted a detailed and exhaustive evaluation of the problem (which turned out to be much more complex than expected) and cleared the drain line. In the second, he replaced my stubborn, nearly stuck shower control knob in no time flat.
As a small locally owned business, Eldridge is far more responsive than my previous plumber, which has a considerably larger customer base and can't always provide same-day service (at least that's been my experience). Another bonus -- Eldridge's hourly rate is much more affordable than my previous plumber's.

We called Vince about a clogged toilet and Vince responded immediately saying that he would drop by later in the day. We called other plumbers and they were either not interested or could only come the following week.
Vince kept us informed of his ETA by texting us and then showed up within the time window that he said he would. He did a thorough check and found that we had a larger issue with e main sewage line clogged. He then had to get a snake to unclog the main line and also then installed a new WC. Then he checked everything to make sure everything was good.
Several days later our main sewage line clogged again and we called Vince again. Again he responded immediately and although he had a full day, he arrived late in the evening with a larger snake to unclog the main sewage line. Since then everything seems to be working well.
Vince was very reasonable and went out of his way to ensure that everything was taken care of. He even texted the next day to ask if everything was ok. What an amazing experience. His fees were very reasonable as well. I would definitely call Vince for all future plumbing needs.

Not good for Palo Alto area. Canceled an appointment and cost us greater than one day setback in fixing the only shower in our condo.
We asked Guy plumbing to investigate a leaky shower in our condo. They agreed to come out within ~24 hrs. So far, so good.
On the morning before the appointment, we asked about the allotted one hour time frame. The receptionist explained that even if more time were needed, this was a standard first step and that there was still value in just having the initial investigation. We were fine with that -- until about five minutes later, the owner called us to cancel the appointment.
If you are reading this, you probably work as many hours as my wife and I do -- you probably live in, or near to, Palo Alto and you are a professional broadly categorized as in the technology industry. Needless to say, we contacted Guy because of good yelp and because we see value in getting the best service. Our time is very valuable -- not being able to shower at home is a big problem.
From my perspective, I am trying to get the most value out of each appointment and get this solved quickly. From Guy's perspective, I am a problem customer.
My takeaway: if you want to do business with Guy, don't ask questions. Don't try to investigate yourself.

I'm an apartment owner and have used 24/7 for the 3rd time now. I found 24/7 through yelp. Basically, I've called at odd hours because of the tenant's demand to get their toilet unplugged. Today's situation was I got a call from the Tenant on Saturday 11:30am, I call 24/7, they said they can be there in an hour.
They are more expensive ($145-$168) than probably many of the people off of craigslist but I need timely, responsible, professionals who can get the job done.
Believe me there are a lot of plumber flakes on craigslist for $45-$125/hr (no shows, don't show on time, don't do the job right, etc). I don't want to spend any of my time nursing them through access to an apartment, not having the right part, etc.

I cannot say enough about the service that I received from Thomas Plumbing! After my last plumber flaked out on me for a larger job, I called Thomas Plumbing and I had a technician knock on my door an hour later. I had a water main leak which we thought was in one spot, but he pinpointed the actual source. He didn't have the part that he needed and he couldn't get it at Home Depot so he returned the next day as promised and stayed until it was done. He returned the next day (again at the promised time) to turn on the water and ensure that the leak was corrected. I'm so happy at the excellent service that I received that I can say Thomas Plumbing is now my go-to company for all of my needs!

Benjamin Franklin plumbing sold us an on-demand water heater 7 years ago which recently started leaking. We contacted that manufacturer of the unit who provided us with the new heat exchanger which was covered under warranty. Unfortunately, labor was not included in the warranty coverage so we contacted BF plumbing to have a service person come to our house and replace the part. Here is a summary of our experience:
I asked the person on the telephone if BF has experience servicing this make/model water heater and she responded, Oh yes absolutely!. I then made an appointment to have a service person come out two working days later, between the hours of 8 AM - noon.
On the day of the appointment, having taken a day off work, nobody had arrived by noon so I called them and the person I spoke to told me that they had a scheduling error. So much for the company that advertises itself as The Punctual Plumber. To their credit, they apologized and told me they would have a technician out by 2:00 PM and the technician arrived shortly before 2:00. I thought that everything would be back on track, but this was when things got ugly....
The technician told me that the unit was installed incorrectly and offered to fix everything for me. When I told him that the unit had been installed by Benjamin Franklin Plumbing, he told me that the company was under different ownership previously and that they were not responsible for what the company had done when it was under prior ownership. Even if that was a true statement, I would think that a company with an ounce of integrity would stand behind an installation that has their name attached to it. When I told him that I only wanted the leaking part fixed, he hum-hawed around, telling me how difficult it would be to repair, and then stated that he thinks someone back at the shop knows something about these units but that it is too difficult to fix while is it hanging on the wall and would need to be completely disconnected and taken back to the shop (not true according to the manufacturer of the unit).
He then told me he could get me hot water the same day be installing a new unit at a discounted price of FOUR-THOUSAND-FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS!!!! We paid 3,500 for the original unit which had included all of the conversion costs to switch to a tankless water heater.
I sent him away (thankfully he did not charge for the service visit...he was clearly embarrassed) and referring to the instructions that came with the replacement heat exchanger, successfully changed out the part myself, having had no prior experience, and without removing it from the wall, in about four hours simply by carefully following the instructions provided by the manufacturer of the unit.
Pretty sad when a company misrepresents its experience, arrives late, does not stand behind its prior installation and tries to take advantage of the situation by selling us an even more expensive unit. Also pretty sad that they are unable to service a unit that they sold us. On the positive side though, if the dang thing ever leaks again, I will know how to fix it myself (it really wasn't that difficult).
I gave them one star only because zero stars is not an option.....
