Best Plumbing Services in San Jose, CA
I contracted with Water Quality Plumbing to perform a copper repipe in my house. I chose them after:
- checking Yelp and Angie's List reviews and Better Business Bureau stats to gage their reputation.
- getting quotes from various companies.
- asking questions about Code compliance and payment terms.
Bottom line: They are professionals, not laborers. They do a quality job worthy of your home you live in. They have no gimmicks. Hire them.
The details:
- The WQP quote was competitive. It was the same or similar to other highly regarded plumbing companies that I found on Yelp, and was actually less expensive than specialist companies that cut corners (more on that later).
- The specialists actually cost more, but they do not employ people with the same level of skill and professionalism. Their techniques for doing the repipe are suspect. For example, they did not propose to ground and bond the plumbing, they indicated that I might get away with the inspector not noticing. And they want an upfront payment.
- Water Quality Plumbing do everything to Code. They ground and bond all the plumbing. They have real plumbers, not laborers. They use high quality materials and techniques. You pay only after the inspector signs off.
- I asked the inspector if the quality of the work was good, and he said with a raised eyebrow it was REALLY good.
- The repipe took about 3 days, compared to the specialist companies that bring an army of laborers and go nuts in one day. The water was still available for days 1 and 2. They put in the piping next to my existing piping, and only on Day 3 did they shutoff the water to tie in the plumbing. Don't worry about 1 days versus 3. The extra time is no big deal and worth the wait in the grand scheme of your life.
My advice when getting quotes from companeis to perform your repipe:
- Ask if they will take care of all the city permits.
- Ask if they they will ground and bond all the piping, and perform everything 100% to Code.
- Ask if they will accept payment terms of paying only when the inspector signs off.
- Go the Better Business Bureau and Angie's List websites and research the complaint history and reviews of the company. Do not hire any that don't give you a warm fuzzy feeling.
Hire WQP. They'll do it right. You won't have buyer's remorse.

We had a line break to our toilet and had to turn all of our water off (since we didn't know what was going on) until Kevin could come the next morning. He arrived on time, figured out the problem quickly and ran to the store and everything was done very fast! It turned out to be a simple problem, but he seems to genuinely want to save you money, and I would definitely call him again.

Anthony is a very knowledgeable, respectful and honest person. He was right on time and is very considerate when it comes to setting up an appointment. He answered all my questions and even explained to me what he was doing and how he was going to install my new kitchen faucet. He made sure everything was functioning correctly and that there were no leaks. I believe I got a good deal and some new knowledge about kitchen sinks. I would definitely be calling Northstar Plumbing and Drain again if I ever needed plumbing services.

I had already had a plumber come out and access my job who I was very disappointed with, so I called Mission City Plumbing. They were clear, reasonably priced, quick to respond to messages, and finished the work in a timely manner. The work also was completed very cleanly and my sink was left looking better than ever. Thanks for the great service!

done has been excellent, I would highly recommend him to anyone, he is very reliable, honest and he knows what he doing!

My garbage disposal broke and the kitchen sink clogged up. Not a good thing! I called several plumbers and Agilis Plumbing gave me the most reasonable quote. They were also available the very next day. I went to Home Depot and bought a new Insinkerator garbage disposal unit. John and William came out on time as scheduled. They promptly disassembled the old unit and installed the new one. They also identified a small leak in the pipe and fixed it at no extra charge. The garbage disposal works great now. And I can use the kitchen sink again. What a relief! I really appreciated the promptness, attention to detail, friendly service, and professionalism of Agilis Plumbing. I would definitely use them again.

We had to re-pipe our entire house ; almost all the pipes were rusted. We took quotes from several companies but at the end we settled with Allpipes. George has several decades of experience in plumbing and the moment you speak to him, you'll notice this. He's direct, honest and passionate about his work.
Not only did he repipe our house, we asked him to help us out in replacing the damaged wood flooring, gas line and several other things and he did an inch perfect job in everything.
He charged us a very reasonable price and didn't charge us penny for tiny little surprises that came along during re-piping. I really love his professionalism and work ethics !
Right now all our plumbing problems are solved, gas works great, the wood flooring he replaced is wonderful and I can't complain about anything.
We are also very good friends with him. We now take his opinion for any doubts we may have regarding home improvement.
Highly recommended !

We found our kitchen sink was disconnected from the drain pipe one night. I contacted Ivan by leaving a message on Yelp late in the evening. He replied next morning at 5am and came to our home at 9am without charging a diagnostic fee. He then quickly replaced the broken sink and pipes. Very nice and professional. We will keep his business card and use his service again. Highly recommended!

We had scheduled Alex to unclog a main septic drain pipe with a day and time agreed by him. Day and time arrived but no Alex. Waited 30 minutes (I realize that other jobs can take unexpected time). No return call! Then texted him after 1 1/2 hours still no contact from Alex.
My recommendation to you is to call ANY OTHEr drain cleaning company you can but DO NOT use Super Plumber Rooter Service. We ended up using another company that answered their phone, scheduled the service and then performed the work.

If you have a condo and like me, desperately looked for a power vent type US made Hot Water Heater, SPS guys are the ones you want to contact immediately. I rarely write good reviews for business, but I have to do this one.
I am still traumatized by HomeDepot's cheap Rheem hot water heater which were all made in Mexico. So much trouble and so much drama with Rheem! DO NOT TOUCH those water heaters made in Mexico, especially Rheem!! You will regret it if you don't believe me simply because you will have very hard time returning it. You need to get a US made water heater and get SPS install it for you and install it right. Steve knows what his crew is doing and Shawna will set you up in time. Enough said

My family has used Hai for a series of plumbing needs in our home for the last 2 years. He is both reliable and knowledgeable. He is determined to find the source of the problem and provide us with a permanent solution. He is respectful of our home every time, and it is a very easy decision to call him whenever there is a problem.

Our kitchen sink has been backed up for months. I began making my way through yelp in search of a specialized plumber and was put in contact with Bunnies plumbing. Adhemar, responded to all of my questions was very patient with me. When he came out to inspect the plumbing issue he was straight forward and explained everything so I could understand. Unfortunately, the plumbing issue wasn't fixed because it requires a second visit. I definitely recommend Bunnies plumbing.

We had Shawn out to the house today for the second time in a month. The first time he replaced the thermocouple on our water heater after diagnosing over the phone. He was on time, worked fast, and took the time to explain how our water heater worked compared to newer models, gave us some pointers on how to maintain our utility room to prolong the life of the heater, and showed us some piping issues that should eventually be re-plumbed (but said he would wait until we replace the water heater). My husband asked him a lot of questions about re-piping the whole house, repairing pin-hole leaks, etc., and Shawn took the time to answer all the questions and gave some great recommendations for next time we run into a problem. We were impressed that he didn't try to upsell us into doing more work.
When we noticed a leak coming out the front wall of our house on to the porch this Sunday, we immediately called. Shawn said it sounded like a 2 man job so he called Johnny from Arrow Plumbing and they came over this morning. Unfortunately for them the leak was in the cramped crawlspace, so they suited up and got right in there to plan the repair. They were somehow able to figure out a way to repair the cracked drain pipe by opening up a small hole in the back of our kitchen cabinet instead of having to go through the exterior wall, which saved us a ton of money. My husband had wondered about having them re-pipe the drain pipe from the sink while they were at it, but Shawn said he didn't see a need to do that and explained why it was fine the way it was. He answered all my questions, and did a great job containing the mess and cleaning up afterwards.
Shawn was very professional, friendly, informative, with very reasonable pricing. Both times, he gave us an estimate up front and stuck to it. We won't hesitate to call again next time we need a plumber. Thanks Shawn!!
