We used Yavapai Landscaping to do some firewise clearing in our yard in 2020. They were expensive but did an average job. We wanted to expand our irrigation system, so we asked them to come out in mid-2021 to give us an estimate. They came up with a proposal which we decided to accept. Unfortunately, they were not able to get back with us in time before we left for the summer. I let them know that we accepted their proposal yet with us soon to be gone, we would have to postpone implementing it.
Fast forward to September of 2021. We are now back in Prescott, so I called Yavapai Landscaping and asked them to send someone out to look at our current system and propose updates. The lady that I was talking with said that they could do so, but it would cost us $200 to have someone come out to give us an estimate. I was floored. $200 for an estimate? I asked if we could we use that as a credit if we accepted the proposal? Nope. The $200 was just to pay for someone to come out and give us, rather sell us, an estimate. I said that we would pass.
I then called one of the people who had come out before and asked him about their new $200 policy. He said that he was unfamiliar with it, but would call the office and have someone contact me. That was Thursday. I called him again on Monday to see if he had any word. I did not receive a return call. At this point, it appears to me that Yavapai Landscaping is not the same company that I did business with last year. Last year they appeared to have customer service. II see no evidence of customer service at this point.
I did receive a call from someone in the office on Tuesday. She had received word from the other employee last Thursday but had not gotten back in touch with me until today, 6 days later. I let her know that we would no longer be doing business with them, mainly due to their $200 for an estimate charge. Why would they enact a $200 charge for an estimate? I have no idea but I will not be supporting their business going forward.

These guys did a great job on my backyard. All my bushes, mini palms and big palm trees look amazing ! They removed a dead lemon tree and now I have room for a new one. I will definitely be calling them back for a 6 month tune-up. Thanks to Daniel and the crew for a job well done !

Howard is great! He has helped me on many projects from maintaining my entire yard to many other things.

Green Earth Trees did a great job on my Tree removal project. I reached out to multiple businesses but they had very good communication and were able to provide me with a quick quote by using pictures instead of an on site visit. We set a date and they showed up when they said they would. My project ended up taking a little longer than planned but they returned the next day and completed the project. I value good communication and everyone from the scheduler to the guys on site did a great job from start to finish.

Don't waste your time and money like I have - keep looking around for a lawn company that respects its customers and doesn't lie and threaten them.
If you need details, let me know. I will be more than happy to lay it out.
Update (reply): looks like you don't understand what it means to bear false witness against someone and then submit false documents on their behalf. You will be held accountable for that evil should you act on it! Careful.

So have you ever had the experience of finding a business that offers exceptional service at a good price point, only to have it all go to hell when new owners come in? Well that's exactly what happened with Chip Off the Old Block.
I found COtOB years ago from Yelp, and it was so nice to have them come out and do a full trim and clean of our sizeable yard. They always sent a large crew (4-5 people) that could get all the work done in less than 3 hours, and that included pruning six of our palms as well. We were always satisfied with the condition of our property, as they were fairly thorough with cleanup too. Though they cost a bit more than your average joe landscaper, it was worth it as they do everything. One time, we did hire an average joe who did a full landscape job, but told us he wouldn't haul away the debris. We were left with a 7 foot tall, 40 foot long pile of crap in our front yard, and had no idea how to get rid of it. Thankfully, I ended up calling COtOB and they had it removed in less than an hour. In the end, we didn't really save any money going with another company, so we started using Chip Off exclusively.
That is, until about 3 months ago. We had them send out an estimator to take a look at our palms again, as the seed pods were getting ready to bloom. They wanted $450 to trim six palms, and we remembered it being cheaper in the past. We contacted them to see if there was anything they could do seeing as we had been loyal customers for a few years, but I was told that under the new ownership, prices were set and non-negotiable. I informed them that we had contacted a local landscaper by our house that would do them for $50 each, to which they responded that we should go with that because they won't even take a job unless it's over $400. Really? They didn't even try to keep our business; they simply let a customer spending almost $3k annually go elsewhere. We did end up going with the other landscaper, and they did such a wonderful job for a lot less money, so we hired them on a monthly basis. Thanks Chip Off!
I hate losing that one company that you can depend on to take care of a certain service. I wanted Chip Off the Old Block to always handle my landscaping but it seems the new management doesn't want my business. I wish them luck in the future but they've probably heard the last from me.
