We had a great experience with Yavapai Landscaping.  They were educated, responsive and the crew was great.  Hard working and aiming to please.  It was also great working with Jan in the front office.  Always got things done!

I recently had cause to call upon the folks at Liberty Tree to do a little restorative work on a couple of older trees in my backyard.  To make a long story short, I was thoroughly satisfied with everyone from Daniel  (the estimator) who actually came out to look things over, to the very professional (and efficient) four-man crew who actually did the job. I would not hesitate to use these folks again and, not surprisingly, would have no qualms about recommending them to friends or family.

The experience I had with Howard and his crew was stellar. Quote was spot on from start to finish, no add on. I had a Palm tree removed and all shrubs removed in backyard. In my front yard they trimmened my tree and palm. I had quotes from 3 other arborists and nobody came close to Heartwoods. Just from my first experience with them I'm a loyal customer for life. Best in the valley!

When reading reviews, it's important to read beyond the stars, read the details.  If the landscaper is 5 stars for cleaning out and you are looking at a 5-figure restoration, this landscaper may not be for you.  Look for flags and run when you see them.  An experienced landscaper will offer a free, line item estimate and offer choices so you can choose where to spend your money.  Unless your project is unique and finely detailed, you should not pay for an architectural drawing, an experienced landscaper will offer guidance and know what will work free of charge. The landscaper should offer references and take you to see his work, so you have an idea of the type of work and level of skill they can offer.  If you have tree and shrub removal needed prior to excavation, contract only for the removal so you can assess the work.  Never give more than a very small percentage to be placed in their timeline and find out how long before offering payment.  Be careful to take notice if words and actions do not match.  The Yavapai crew was very friendly, but there were too many red flags for our large renovation project, so I can only give 1 star.

Don't waste your time and money like I have - keep looking around for a lawn company that respects its customers and doesn't lie and threaten them.

Update (reply):  looks like you don't understand what it means to bear false witness against someone and then submit false documents on their behalf.  You will be held accountable for that evil should you act on it!  Careful.

I have used Chip Off The Old Block for many years and was previously very happy with their work. I am not happy at all with the job they just did, but there is one thing in particular that  really has me upset. I asked them for the estimate to include the removal of a dead tree (not very big) which it appeared on the paperwork that they did. However the day of the work the tree was just chopped down and the stump and roots left. I called them about this as the estimate had said to pick out which sound like stump and roots to me. They sent their stump grinders out another day to do the work. They picked out the stump leaving all the roots. When I asked them about the roots the guy said they are just going back to mother earth. Then I began looking into getting a new tree for the area the other tree had been removed from and found out that the nursery I have used in the past will not put in a new tree for you if there are still roots from an old tree and they do not remove them. When I received the estimate from Chip Off the Old Block there was no explanation that pick out as it sounds did not include the roots. I went back and forth calling them and I spoke with them last on September 2, 2020 and they promised to get back to me about resolving the issue. I was extremely patient, but today, 12 days later I called them back. They had done nothing on my issue. They called the employee who originally gave me the estimate then and called me back saying the only way to get the roots removed is if I pay an extra charge. I paid what I think already was an over inflated price of $800 for 5 trees to be trimmed and one dead tree to be removed. I am not paying more and I will never use this company again and I think other potential customers need to be aware of their business practices. I have talked above about my main complaint, but other things they did were also not professional including being late, smoking in my yard and my presence, dumping their discarded cigarette in my yard, cutting off one of my drip lines, leaving the property in the back yard, front yard and street not properly cleaned up and on their second visit breaking one of my garden lights. Do not use this company!

I have 18 Palo Verde trees, he did a wonderful job of pruning them for monsoon season.
