Seldom do I award a five star for anything on Yelp but Yavapai Landscaping would rate a seven star rating were I able to do so. They are simply the best at what they do. The landscape advisor, Ted Ferris, came promptly at our first meeting. Since we are new to the area, we needed advice about which plants were the best for this part of Arizona. He also recommended to us an esthetic design we would have never thought of on our own. He accommodated our every wish. He gave us a reasonable estimate in a few days. We had to wait our turn to have our yard landscaped because this is a popular company but, when our turn came, their landscaper workers began work at 7 AM or earlier and worked at least 12 hours a day, six days a week. They worked under adverse circumstances of blazing hot sun and monsoons that drenched them almost everyday. They cheerfully and promptly made every change we ask of them. They attended to the smallest of detail. They obviously knew what they are doing. The ultimate result is our front yard and backyard exceeds our every expectation with landscaping and water features which are both functional and esthetically pleasing. We highly recommend them to anyone who wants a custom and comprehensive landscape solution.
I respect those who gave Yavapai Landscaping less than a good rating, however, our experience was quite the opposite from theirs. I am sure if they contacted Ted Ferris that he would be able to resolve their concerns.
From my first meeting with Ted I knew we made the right call. Ted has overseen all 3 jobs to make sure we where 100% satisfies. I have had Yavapai Landscaping do 3 jobs for me now. All 3 experiences have been 5 Star worthy.
For our most recent job I shopped all over the area for the cheapest price on Synthetic grass. I actually found Yavapai to be right in the average price with other competitors. They were not the cheapest nor where they the most expensive but definitely the best quality and exceptional customer service/installation. When Ted's team arrived mid Monday to start preparing the area I was so impressed by how his team worked. Ceaser, Hugo and Alex worked promptly and efficiently. The team was extremely professional and worked with high precision and took exceptional pride in there workmanship. They had the job completed in literally a day and a 1/2 . Unbelievable how fast the job was completed with the highest level of quality in workmanship and efficiency. I would like to say a sincere thank you to Ted, Ceaser, Hugo and Alex for a exceptional job well done.
Have a Blessed Day !!!

Just moved in to my new home in Prescott, have had 4 landscaping Consultations before Anthony from Yavapai Landscaping came out to look at the property and listen to my nauseating vision of the property. He was the first landscaper who Got my crazy vision. Anthony knew the names of all the plants and trees that I pointed out, he was extremely knowledgeable and gave great insight into my many needs which he was very comfortable in completing, other contractors were only able to meet some requests. Looking forward to working with Yavapai Landscaping.

We are very pleased with the results of the hardscape landscaping Yavapai provided and their attention to detail. Ted was full of great ideas and has a professional crew. We highly recommend Yavapai!

The project was finally completed, although way behind schedule. Antonio's crew was professional and courteous and did an excellent job. Overall, I think most of the problems were wirth the owner and the front office scheduling, and not with the crew. They dropped the ball in the beginning but were able to get on track in the end. The quality is outstanding, and communication is improving.

I met with 3 landscaping companies. I met with Ted Ferris from Yavapai Landscaping. We selected them to do a large landscaping project including removing old railroad ties and replacing them with Versablock and and underground tree and plant watering system. A team of skilled workers and equipment arrived and the blocks were cut precisely and fitted perfectly to form uniform steps to a side yard. The drip system was set up with 3 stations to water trees once a week and plants more frequently. The job was done professionally on time and on budget. We are thrilled with the results.

I gave them one star because they did create a beautiful patio. After many false starts they finally scheduled our landscaping. Our agreement called for four 6' Arbor Vitae but they said there were none available. If they had ordered them when they received my down payment they probably would have been available. I was given the choice of 4' trees or nothing. Not much of a choice. They had no apology or remorse that they weren't even close to fulfilling their part of our agreement. They didn't give me any instructions on how to care for the vegetation they installed and they have not answered my emails requesting help. I paid them per our agreement and now I am history. Poor customer service and a take it or leave it attitude. Hire a firm that will treat you fairly and be honest.

We used Yavapai Landscaping to do some firewise clearing in our yard in 2020. They were expensive but did an average job. We wanted to expand our irrigation system, so we asked them to come out in mid-2021 to give us an estimate. They came up with a proposal which we decided to accept. Unfortunately, they were not able to get back with us in time before we left for the summer. I let them know that we accepted their proposal yet with us soon to be gone, we would have to postpone implementing it.
Fast forward to September of 2021. We are now back in Prescott, so I called Yavapai Landscaping and asked them to send someone out to look at our current system and propose updates. The lady that I was talking with said that they could do so, but it would cost us $200 to have someone come out to give us an estimate. I was floored. $200 for an estimate? I asked if we could we use that as a credit if we accepted the proposal? Nope. The $200 was just to pay for someone to come out and give us, rather sell us, an estimate. I said that we would pass.
I then called one of the people who had come out before and asked him about their new $200 policy. He said that he was unfamiliar with it, but would call the office and have someone contact me. That was Thursday. I called him again on Monday to see if he had any word. I did not receive a return call. At this point, it appears to me that Yavapai Landscaping is not the same company that I did business with last year. Last year they appeared to have customer service. II see no evidence of customer service at this point.
I did receive a call from someone in the office on Tuesday. She had received word from the other employee last Thursday but had not gotten back in touch with me until today, 6 days later. I let her know that we would no longer be doing business with them, mainly due to their $200 for an estimate charge. Why would they enact a $200 charge for an estimate? I have no idea but I will not be supporting their business going forward.
Disappointed. We contacted Yavapai for a quote for some rock work for your home. We became frustrated because WE had to keep following up with them. My husband contacted the office credit card in hand to pay and schedule to have the office rep need to contact the bidder to clarify. We didn't have any follow up unless we called them. Often multiple times due to no return calls.
This went on a few times over the course of roughly 2 months.
We finally contacted another company, got a quote and had the work done. Spent a little more but it's completed and we still haven't been called back from Yavapai.
Our job wasn't a huge project- $1000 so maybe we weren't a priority. But long term we will need more work done.

There was some issues at the beginning of trimming.. but when all said and done, they did a good job of trimming all the bushes and trees. And good job cleaning up.
We've used Yavapai Landscaping on a few projects over the past 2 years and at first they were reliable and the work was good depending on who they sent out (Ryan and LT are great). The guy we worked with to design the back yard (Anthony Doumont) was great but, he left shortly after our project started. The lady in the office at the time, who was very nice, seemed like she was in over her head - no return calls, very poor communication and could not remember us or our project every time we spoke. As a retired fire department employee I liked the idea of supporting this business because the owner is retired fire but, they have really gone downhill over the last year. We gave them one last chance on another project and the guy that came to give the bid said he would have a estimate by end of day. That was last Friday and today is Tuesday. We had to track him down thru the office only to find out they don't even do the work we need done (re-slab our mailbox)! He referred us to someone who couldn't even set up a firm appointment to bid the project. All I can say is either they've gotten too big or the management is not paying attention, either way we won't be wasting our time with them.

This was a total team effort, did a great job! Everything from the design to the installation went smooth. They finished in record time!
From Jan in the office, Ted and Anthony for the design to Luis and his installation crew. Very professional!! Exactly the taste of Arizona we were looking for. Thank you Yavapai Landscaping team!!!
Cannot get these people to respond. They came and measured for a retaining wall in our yard. We were supposed to hear back in a couple days. Nothing. Between my husband and I we contacted them 4 times. Still no quote. Who knows why a company would act like this, job too small? Maybe they're too busy. Either way, we went with another company.
Yavapai Landscaping did a great job on our yard, did lots of unique features and fulfilled everything they promised in a timely manner. I highly recommend them for your project being a new build or a renew. I dealt with Ted who was eager to please and was great to work with. In fact we have a friendship that supersedes the project.
These guys are the worst. I had a sick tree that I asked them to look at. Not only did they not know what was wrong with it, they didn't even know what kind of tree it was! The guy said he would call me back which he never did. I finally got ahold of them again and was told the tree had spider mites and they would cut it down and remove it for $600. I called a different company and they knew what kind of tree it was and it was root bound because of plastic covering the root system. They fixed the problem at half the cost and I have a happy, beautiful, living tree now. Yavapai would have killed a perfectly healthy tree that my father planted 30 years ago. Thank you JOHNNY'S LANDSCAPING for saving my beloved tree.

5 stars. Why? Because Yavapai Landscaping was 5 stars from the beginning to the end...
I received in the mail a postcard with a coupon for $200 OFF for a two-day FireWise service and after all the fires my wife and I didn't want to take any chances. Go on their website? It's clean, polished, and easy to navigate. I have used other Landscape companies in Prescott and when they come out to our Country Club home the prices seemed higher then it should. After receiving my free quote, the price actually went lower then my wife and I budgeted for, not up!
We had tons of questions and needed help in designing our new outdoor kitchen, BBQ, and Pizza oven area, and Yavapai Landscaping responded so fast it was a plus in my books for sure. Hands down my new company for all my Landscaping & Tree Service 100%.

If your considering using this company we would highly recommend you don't. In our opinion they are most unprofessional company we have ever dealt with. This company did our entire landscaping including putting in a built in bbq with a concrete countertop which they said we would love. The countertop was supposed to be polished concrete which we've been told it isn't by several people. We also found out they had never done polished concrete before. The used pavers to build it (which appear to be used pavers because they are all chipped) the concrete countertop looks horrible and they did not have the gas line inspected. We had to call the City and have the landscaper dig up the gas line for the City to inspect. Yavapai was not happy with us and basically said it was our fault. The sod they put in half of it never took which they won't stand behind. Anything that is wrong they tell you it's your fault. Our experience was a nightmare with them. In our opinion the owner is a horrible business person with no customer service skills and his sales manager is no better than a used car salesman that tells you what you want to hear but doesn't do what was promised. I would run as fast as I could away from this company. As far as the response below from the Owner and/or the Sales Manager- you are the one that suggested concrete countertops, and as far as colored concrete it's grey and I think that is the normal color. You tried to get use to do red. As far as the grass you installed it and we maintained including fertilizing through the winter. The entire yard was nothing but weeds. The southwest quarter of the lawn has never grown. It has nothing to do with our dogs and we do not have three dogs nor do they go in one spot. You never tried to correct the bbq, or several other items. There are so many lies and inconsistencies in your response it is ridiculous such as us being banned from the club house. We've never been banned from there or any place. Anyone can see from your response not to do business with you. You are not worth going on about all of the issues with your company. It's a waste of my time.
Excellent service from beginning to end with Yavapai Landscaping. From the initial call and follow ups with a quote through to the last day Yavapai Landscaping's communication was clear and thorough. Their work crew showed up on time every single day and worked, even through the heat, and they did not stop until the end of the day. They were here for three weeks total repaving, laying artificial turf, rock ground cover and raised rock beds with drought tolerant plants. They did some grading for good water drainage, hooked up a drip system that runs to all of our plants, and installed the most magnificent fountain made from a huge chunk of onyx rock. Great company with a good crew that will do everything they can to make your backyard a paradise.

Yavapai Landscaping was very prompt in returning my call. The estimator Anthony came out and gave me an estimate, which was unaffordable so I did not use them for my job.
The reason for the 3 stars is that I didn't hire them for the job, so I can't really do a full evaluation.
Ted Ferris worked with us to come up with a landscape plan for our home in Prescott Valley and his team did a great job of implementing it. He also worked with us to establish phases of implementing the plan, and in selecting plants that provide a variety of looks, textures, and color. We think our yard stands out in the neighborhood and was well worth the time, effort, and costs.

I called first thing in the morning after a long weekend and Nathan (owner) answered the phone. If you live in Prescott, you know this is a rarity. I needed help with an automatic sprinkler system that was not operating well. He was able to schedule me a time the same day, which I really appreciated.
Some hours later Anthony arrived at my home after a courtesy call to say that he was close. After explaining the problem, he set about testing and checking the system. He was able to deductively determine the problem and then reset the system. I then asked him to walk my property to look at a few plants/trees so I could ask some questions. He suggested that I consider a maintenance program but did so with no pressure and offered to discuss it at another time if I choose to go in that direction.
I will definitely use Yavapai Landscaping again.
I enjoyed working with Yavapai's Business Developer, Ted Ferris. He was easy to work with and Yavapai used their erosion expertise to complete a huge erosion project on our property. Many Prescott landscaping companies were too small & inexperienced to do the required work. Thank you Ted!
I've used Yavapai Landscaping 3 times now, and have been very pleased with the result each time. The latest job was the biggest, they transformed the middle dirt pile in our circle drive into an oasis. The crew was fast too, they beat the timeline!
The Yavapai Landscaping team did a great job transforming my backyard. I wanted a planter for the plants I brought with me to my new house. They built it out of stone and it is perfect.

The Yavapai Landsaping team came back and extended the patio, installed fencing and did a beautiful water feature. The guys are so great and we highly recommend.
We had a great experience with Yavapai Landscaping. They were educated, responsive and the crew was great. Hard working and aiming to please. It was also great working with Jan in the front office. Always got things done!

The work done was beautiful, however I was rescheduled 3 times without being given the option. Also when I ask to meet with the super for my project to discuss the work and possibly more he never returned my call this resulted in a conflict with my project and I was once again rescheduled. I also feel that the cost was above what it should have been for my project as well.
This company answered their phone on a Sunday morning and provided emergency snow removal service for us within hours! Who does that? It had snowed over six inches overnight, and we were snowed in exactly when we had important business, which could not wait, elsewhere. We live off of a private road in Prescott, which is not maintained by the county or city, in the woods. There is a nine degree grade on the road coming down to our driveway, with steep drop offs, and another one in the driveway itself. Yavapai Landscaping understood the urgency we had to get on the road that morning. They risked their safety to be sure that we could get out!
Way too expensive! Got estimates from 2 other companies for artifical turf and Yavapai was literally a couple thousand more than the others.

We hired Yavapai Landscaping to build a 4 retaining wall and lay pavers to expand our patio to about 3x it's existing size. Anthony was a pleasure to work with from discussing the materials, options and quotes. The real surprise was the work crew: Luis and Alanso. They were very meticulous and paid attention to the little details. Consistent from morning to evening and they always cleaned up the site before they left. Their work ethic was second to none and so was the finished product. When my wife wanted a certain detail or two, the answer was always: Sure, we can do that. We love our new patio and would hire that crew again in an instant - great team!

We bought a new home in Prescott and needed complete landscaping for both the front and back yards. After getting quotes from three companies, we contracted with Yavapai Landscaping for three main reasons. First, and foremost, was their responsiveness. Ted Ferris, the sales representative, was extremely responsive and prompt with providing us an estimate and a professional landscaping drawing showing the design concept. He was always very polite and professional. Second, the quote they provided was very competitive and in line with the others we received. Lastly, in comparing the end results of other homes they landscaped in our neighborhood, as compared with others, they have a distinctly different aesthetic in their design and final results. They just simply look nicer. I would like to particularly point out that their installation crew is utterly amazing! They worked hard each and every day from sun up to sun down and rarely even took a break. They are the hardest workers I have ever seen. They completed our installation in three and a half days! I highly recommend this company. They are great!
A month ago we gave Yavapai a $2100 deposit for work on the rocks in the drainage ditch in front of our house. We were told a crew would be here on Nov. 4th to start the work, which would take two days. At 10:00 on the 4th I called to find out why no one showed up. I was given some song and dance about the scheduled crew being unable to do the work but the crew who could do the work would be here on the 9th. Expect them between 8.and 9 we were told. You guessed it - no one showed up and no one called. Our next step is to request our deposit back.
Update - I did request a return of our deposit, and the very next day a guy showed up with a load of rock. However, it was another two days before anyone showed up to do the work. We had been told we would have a full crew so that the work could be finished quickly. Their full crew consisted of two guys, who did work hard, but the second day one of the guys called in sick, so we were down to one guy. He was unable to complete the job that day but promised he would be back the next day (Saturday) to finish. Again we had a no show with no phone call. The work was finally done on Monday. So, a job that we booked on October 8th with work dates of November 4th and 5th was finally completed on November 18th. Bottom line - was the work completed satisfactorily? Absolutely. Would we hire this company again? Absolutely not!
We made the best decision by having Yavapai Landscape create the pavers, patios, walkways, fire pit area. I will only have these fine men help with my yard.
For the mess that was left.
My grass was ruined, leftover landscape block are still being stored on our property.
Yavapai landscaping did a fabulous job installing our artificial turf. They shoes up on time and completed the job on also. They did a great job of cleaning up after the job was complete. Would recommend them-very professional

I was on a tight budget and needed about $3000 worth of major cleanup in my yard. Just bought 2 acres and a house in Chino Valley in June 2017. The yard had been neglected for over 15 years. Cottonwood trees overgrown with suckers as high as the main trunk. Ugly black plastic erupting from the layer of rocks and looking really bad. I hate black plastic and wanted the weeds and grass to grow freely. A weed is only a weed if it grows where you do not want it to. I do not like anything linear and defining so the lava rock rings around the 4 willow trees had to go and the whole yard needed some love. I had 4 landscape companies come out for an estimate and all 4 gave the the mantra of your project is not doable because of your small budget. What? Just because I am a small potato does not mean I do not qualify for your workers. They wanted a budget of over $10,000 AND THAT WAS NOT GONNA HAPPEN.
Grrr. I knew what I wanted done but was open to ideas but not more money. So looking thru the weekly shopper I found Yavapai Landscaping and called them. I told them I was small potatoes and would they give me an estimate for my desired aesthetics. Nathan was so comforting and assured me they will work with me and take my direction as to what I wanted. It is often hard for men to listen to a woman and get the same picture in their head that I had in my mind. But Nathan and Devon were very professional and understood that I wanted a free flowing rock scape and plastic removed and no other weed control used. A natural vibe - serene and undefined. I hired them and am so happy with the work they did. I could hear my overgrown yard breathe a huge sigh of relief as they methodically trimmed trees, pulled plastic, hauled trash to their dumpster. The bobcat work was so expertly done by Louis that I asked if they could level my back yard and how much would that cost. The gopher farm in the back was a tripping hazard for me and too uneven to risk a fall. So I now have no more gopher holes and a smoother yard. BTW: That bobcat work was a free-bee.
The work crews were very polite, respectful of this retired USAF woman who knew the vision she wanted (me), and best of all no Spanish was spoken - that is professional in my ethics book. All-in-all when they finished the initial cleanup job and I charged it to my credit card I am a very happy camper.
rd art About 2 weeks later I called Nathan back and negotiated the price of putting in a 6ftx20ft paver sidewalk from the drivewayto the front porch. The estimate was within my credit limits and I not only got the beautiful paver sidewalk but also splurged and got a slice of heaven in the front ard. I now have a 10 x 15 foot green scape of high quality astro turf right out my front door. It is lined with the same pavers and is very sturdy with the wind and rain storms. I planted a plastic pink flamingo on my lawn (it is not a putting green) and sun bleached flamingos and other yard art (turtles, gnomes, lizards, etc) that no one wants. My Flying Flamingo Refuge accepts donations of your unwanted and outdated yard art.
I have a small commercial building in Prescott. We used Yavapai Landscaping for the first time and their work was subpar. They charged me about $200.00 more than our last landscaper who developed a back problem and is no longer in the business. Despite the higher cost the work was not as good. We called Yavapai Landscaping and sent them photos to show them the poor workmanship. The sent a crew out to fix it and charge us an additional $195.00 without ever telling us they were going to charge us more money. I never received an invoice which they promised to email me. Then when we called them to inquire about the additional $195.00 fee the women said, Fine! We will refund you the money. and hung up on us. We tried to call back several times and she won't answer the phone. Needless to say my credit was never refunded the $195.00. I would not suggest using Yavapai landscaping.
