I've been using Eddy for the last few years and I highly recommend him.  He's worked on multiple projects big and small for me, with rental properties, selling a home and buying a new home that needed a lot of work, and I even flew him out to the east coast to work on a bathroom renovation at a vacation home.  He's very meticulous with his work and always makes sure you're happy with the results.  Very trustworthy and reasonable with his rates, much better than other handymen I have used before.

10:30 am We ordered two ceiling fans and a remote on Amazon thinking we would take advantage of their new Amazon Home Services Group. Our experience was horrible outside of Amazon's normal amazing delivery speed. The day of the installation we received a window of between 11am and 2pm. Kyle from I'm Gonna Fix It called and said they were wrapping up with another client and would be there around 3pm. A gentleman named Chris showed up at 4:30pm and started to work on installing our fans. He pulls me aside before he is done and says "We can bill your second fan through Amazon, or if you can pay cash we will do it for 80.00 instead. Amazon charges us a 20% service fee so we can offer a cash discount."
We are so far behind schedule my wife has time to stop and grab the money on the way home from work. Right before he leaves he comes back and says "Hey I don't have a screwdriver to put the batteries in the remote." He then leaves without testing it, so we had no idea if it would work. Needless to say, the remote won't sync with the system he installed so I call them up and ask them to fix it or remove the unit so we can send it back.
Chris comes out again, this time, he doesn't have a ladder, even though he needed one the first time, so we let him use ours. (What kind of a service comes without a screwdriver or a ladder?), tests the unit, then tells me "Because the unit is defective we have to bill you 65.00 for the hour I was here, but not to worry Amazon will most likely cover the error because the unit was defective." So now they want Amazon to pay us back for their mistake.
His office calls to bill us and I ask them "Why are we paying you to remove something that you didn't test on installation. If the tech actually tested the unit and didn't just leave, then we wouldn't be having a second service call." She says, "Ok I'll call the owner and ask what we can do."
Less than five minutes later Chris shows back up at my house asking me, "What's the problem, and that it was ok to bill us because we let him leave without testing it." It's not only extremely unprofessional to send a service tech back to your front door (not to mention the same one that didn't test the unit) to try and argue on behalf of the company, it borders on intimidation. I wouldn't agree that it was our fault that he didn't test the product he installed and I asked him to leave. The then promptly charged us the 65.00 for the hour.  I will never be using Amazon's Home Services again; I'll stick with hiring my Rosie on the House certified contractors.

2:00pm I added this in response to the owners comment.

I can tell you for us the service was nothing like 100% satisfied. It doesn't do me any good to yell at a technician coming to my house for being 2.5 hours late, it does let me know that maybe the company I am working with isn't 100% reliable. It doesn't do me any good when I tell the tech that I have a screwdriver available to put that batteries in, and he says it's fine and goes home. It wouldn't have done me any good this morning to send the man away because he showed up without a ladder when I had one he could use. It definitely didn't do any good to ask your company to make the service call right, because then I had a tech show back up at my house to blame me for his inability to put in batteries, and properly test something he installed.

The good news is there are companies out there that go above and beyond to make things right. Amazon refunded us your service fee of 65.00 and for the remote within the hour when we emailed them. Personally, I was shocked that they would cover a fee, that should have never been charged. It wasn't Amazon's fault we picked the wrong company off of the list to have come to our home. None of that mattered to Amazon, they made it right, and did it quickly, securing our continued business with them for a very long time.

As for offering to put in the new remote for free well I think you can see how we might not think of that as a plus. The last one cost us part of the initial 80.00 (fan installation), and an additional 65.00 (due to reasons listed above).

I appreciate the quick response to my review but fixing the issue when I called and spoke to your company would have been better. Instead, I talked to someone on the phone that said she would talk with the owner, had a technician show back up at my house to argue the point (which is not great service or professional), and then got a call three minutes later to pay because you felt it was due regardless.

Again I can't say enough good things about Amazon for erasing most of what turned out to be a horrible experience.

2:37pm Finally made it back in my bedroom tried to turn on the fan to take a nap and it doesn't even turn on manually now.

2:55 After a little investigation it seems the tech wired the fan to a different wall switch for the light and the fan, which he didn't do before. We are hiring another company to check the work.

I had a backsplash nightmare- install done terribly. I reached out to see if this company could help me fix itA although they are too booked out to help, the owner was very kind in walking me through what went wrong and advice on what to do. Very appreciative of his time to have a discussion with me! Will definitely use them for future projects!

Clayton promptly responded the same day to our request for consultation and quote on the replacement of a pergola shade structure. He was very personable and pleasantly discussed multiple options for layout and materials. His quote was detailed and thorough. He leveraged a 5 man crew for the job in the interest of getting the job done professionally and in a timely manner. All the guys on his crew were great. We felt as if this group was taking care of us as they would their own families. They even cleaned the worksite cleaner than they found it. We will definitely call on Gusto Construction again and highly recommend them!

Ellen, Cheryl and her team were a pleasure to work with and left us with a bathroom we are now proud to show off. The open line of communication was excellent and I felt as if my voice was heard throughout the design and build process.

We needed our job complete by a certain date, and the White Builder team had no issues accommodating the quick turnaround. I've had some companies take several months to get a project off the ground but from the first point of contact on Yelp to the finish of the project, it only took a couple weeks here. We were pleased enough that we've already started our second project.

Had them install a Sollid Cabinetry pantry. Throughout the process, communication was great, cost was very competitive (based on several estimates) and the installer was very professional. Was very happy with the service provided and would highly recommend them based on our experience.

I've had a lot of problems hiring shady contractors from Angie's List who do terrible work and randomly take off for meth adventures....

RR sent nice, knowledgeable and trustworthy people to quote and to do a great job removing a 30 y/o wooden patio that was attached to my roof. Would definitely hire them again!

Q is literally the best handy man ever. Ever since the first day I hired him, he has tackled all of the crazy random jobs I've thrown at him quickly and professionally. I don't even feel right calling him a handy man as he is way more than that! On top all of that, he's super sweet. I will miss him and all of his amazing work when he leaves California. Damn you Arizona for stealing Q from us!!

I needed a new contractor to do some renovations on our new home so we turned to Yelp and and found shepherd contracting. We used Thomas and his team when my new home needed some updating. The communication was above and beyond. We love our new bathrooms and will post updated photos soon!

Eric is a very knowledgeable handyman. I told him what I wanted with a vision of my own and he put it to life. He is very honest about the hours that he works and his rates are very reasonable. With the fimal result that I received I am very happy with what he finished in my bathroom.

We went with RH Design & Build for an interior remodel including a complete kitchen renovation.  Despite some challenges along the way, we could not be happier with the end result.  We recommend RH Design & Build for their professionalism and craftsmanship.

Doug is very responsive and also patient. He picked up my phone, explained how much everything would cost. Also he arrives on time as he promised. The work is done quickly and with high quality. I would hire him again to do some handyman jobs in the future.

Working with Bobby and his team on our guest house conversion was a pleasure. Bobby is a very talented architect/designer. His overall design from the initial rendering to the final build out was outstanding! The fact that Atelier507 provides full project integration -- from design to full contractor services and project management -- made the process efficient and convenient. Bobby listened to what we wanted, was receptive to feedback, and the project was on time and done within our agreed upon budget. His team was professional,  reliable, extremely hardworking, and kept the workspace tidy throughout the duration of the project, which we very much appreciated. Phenomenal, Dion did a full remodel on my home. Hardwood floors, marble tile, granite counters, kitchen appliances, toilets, mirrors, sinks, bathtub, shower, paint, carpet, he did it all. My house looks brand new and Dion's prices were 1/3 lower than the competition.i had 12 estimates fine before I chose D&D construction and I'm very happy with my decision. I recommend D&D construction to 3 of my friends and he did excellent on all of the homes. Dion is very kind, my kids enjoyed playing with him, even my dog's liked him and my dog's usually hate everyone. I highly recommend D&D construction. I was absolutely greatful to find David Nguyen from Desert mountain countertop. We had trouble with other fabricators . No one like to go out far to Florence. David gave us a great service with his quick respond, reliable , reasonable prices. His team came out very quick to finish the job in the next 2 business days. They did an excellent job. I was very happy and please to work with David . I would recommended to anyone wants a good service and reliable company .

I needed my fences done and I called 4 other companies, that wanted to over charge and under deliver. When I met Lev he said you won't find anyone to do your fences like I will. He was Right. Lev installed my fences the same day. He was kind, professional, and very Hardworking. I will definitely reach out to him if I need any other work done. I would recommend him to installed your fences. He also has fair prices compared to other companies. Thank you Lev!!!

SpiceGirls gave me a 1 hour arrival window -- SOOOO much better than those long 2 hour or more time frames that others expect, and Rosa arrived during the 1-hour window she said she would!  I appreciate they way they treat customers.

We are so happy with the work that Mike and his team did in our kitchen.  They matched the wood stain and built extra cabinets and also designed a few from scratch matching beautifully.   We get compliments all the time, they were timely and very professional.  After all was done we actually Had them return to resurface areas we hadn't thought about.  Would gladly recommend and use them again
