My experience with Pat at Drain EZZ was nothing short of an exceptional one.  After business hours we noticed a leak in our kitchen faucet and made a phone call to Pat.  He walked us through turning off our water and assuring that everything would be ok until the next day when he could come for an appointment.  He would've came that night, but felt confident we had the situation under control.
Katrina made scheduling convenient and was extremely quick to follow up.  When Pat arrived he was able to identify the problem within minutes!  We needed a new faucet, which we didn't have at the time.  He offered to go pick one up for us, but we opted to save him the trip.  He advised us on the right faucet to get and came back two days later and had the problem fixed right away!
Not only did Pat help us with our faucet, but he also went out of his way to answer a few other questions about the hot water heater and toilets.  We had a clog in our toilet and instead of making us schedule another appointment, he fixed it on the spot.
Pat and all of his staff at Drain EZZ are a pure delight to work with and I would recommend them to ANYONE in need of ANY plumbing issue.

We had the most wonderful experience with Jim and I can now see why he has so many stellar reviews. Last week our 20-year old boiler started making noise. We got it inspected from our company. They told that the boiler is leaking and should be replaced but were reluctant to do so due to the tight space along with furnace. Another highly-rated plumber was also reluctant, wanted us to get electricians do some work before they come. Jim, on the other hand, asked us to text pictures, understood the situation immediately, and gave a written quote in minutes. He accommodated my travel schedule. Jim made the task look easy when other plumbers were reluctant to handle. And he did it at a fraction of what others were asking for. One company asked more than three times the amount. I wouldn't think twice about calling Jim for a water heater issue.

I used them once before and I liked them.  However, this company has become a little pricey.  

I just replaced a bathroom faucet at work for $450.  The labor cost is $260 for 1 hour of work.

Two days later, I need to replace a faucet at home.  I used an Evanston company. The cost is only $253.

I voiced my concern and the company's owner called me to resolve the issue.  Price was adjusted down.  So, I think this company does care a lot about what it does.

David was great. They came right at the time they said and they were really professional and efficient. I had bad plumbing companies before but with them was a total different experience I will definitely use them again.

11/8/2016 Pathetic. My washing machine lint filter fell off into the drainage pipe.  My mud sink drain then was very slow to drain.  They told me when arrived (2 men) that there was no way the lint filter would've gone into the extrusion pump pit, would be in pipes.  But they used their motorized snake and could not find anything clogging the pipes to ejector. Then they said if the filter did make its way to the ejector, it would have been chopped up into tiny bits and spit out into outside pipe, despite that was opposite of what they said initially. They could not explain the slow drainage then, and actually claimed the drainage was normal though it definitely was not and I told them it was very different from prior to the lint filter falling off. Jose (owner) told me when I called that the service call would be $115 for one hour, if not a lot of time required, could be less. The guys were fairly casual and took less than 45 minutes but still charged $115. They did not give me an invoice or receipt showing what they did. When I did a load of laundry a couple of days later, the washing machine drainage completely overflowed all over the floor, as when they put the p trap back together, there was a big leak created. I sent three emails to Jose telling him that it was worse and that I wanted the written work order sent to me. I got no response at all any of the three times. Had to have someone else fix the leak so I could do laundry, though they caused that leak and I still don't have any paperwork from them as a receipt or work order, though that is required by law from any service provider. I selected them because of their excellent website ratings and I was shocked how bad they were. $115 for no repair, and they actually made it worse.

12/2016 update:  Jose did call me after realizing that I had been emailing him at a site he does not monitor.  He offered to come out and fix the problem himself and also refund me the full price I paid.   I took him up on the fix and he came out and made it right.   He also followed up a day or two later to make sure everything was still working fine after they left.  He also offered me the refund despite having fixed the problem,  which I appreciated as a gesture that he was sincere about standing behind his work.  After his efforts to do right when I was unhappy, I feel differently about his service.  Jose was able to fix it.

Just finished my appointment with First Chicago Plumbing, and after the disasters I have been dealing with from other contractors I've used, I felt compelled to leave this review on a business that does things right. Eugene was quick to respond and very professional over email. Scheduling an appointment was easy and they were able to make it out the same week.

Jorge and Sergio (I believe that was his name) were the ones on site. They were nice and explained everything to me. There was some work that was up in the air on whether it needed to be done, and ultimately they were able to get the job done without the additional work.

The biggest part of my work was correcting a disposal hook up my contractor horribly botched during my kitchen renovation. They were able to correct everything and hook it up correctly. It looks SO much better (see before and after pictures attached).

Everything was cleaned up and then tested in front of me to make sure it worked.

I thought the price was fair and very close to the quote I received. It's the city, so if you want good work you can't cheap out (as I've learned the hard way). Ultimately I was just happy to have actual licensed professionals who knew what they were doing.

I'll definitely use these guys again and keep them on my speed-dial for any future plumbing needs!

After getting an outrageous quote for a leak repair in my master bathroom I found Kevin of Sound plumbing on yelp and called him immediately.  He came out and assessed the situation, talked me through how to remove old caulking (so I would save money on labor) and gave me a fair quote to fix the leak.  I definitely will be calling him again if any more issues arise in my condo.

Highly recommend Jesus!  Had an ongoing water issue in our basement and I finally called to get an estimate.   I was impressed with his quick response as he was able to come out within a couple hours.  Once he got here, he was friendly and courteous and thorough.  He identified the problem and had the tools to fix it on the spot.   He did his thing and that was it.  No hassling or trying to recommend other services.  Definitely will be a repeat customer for our future plumbing needs.

Contacted Midwest Hydro Jetting for advice, after hiring another company whose hydro jetting machine was underpowered, and unable to clear a blockage in my sewer line.This company recommended that I spend several thousand dollars to install a clean out, which I realised may or may not solve the problem, given that the location of the blockage was towards the back of the building. Midwest recommended trying to rod out the line first, before resorting to having them hydro jet, or install a clean out I appreciated all the advice, and how they were trying to save me unnecessary additional expense.

My boyfriend and I required toilet repairs. Adam and Hector were excellent service technicians. They arrived on time and were great with communication. Adam helped fix the leak without any tools since it was a quick-second repair. They didn't charge any fee which really stood out to us. We highly recommend! If we weren't moving out of state, we would happily hire them again!

Encountered an electrical issue while doing some simple DIY projects. Call Sims and Sons without much research given their strong reviews on Yelp. Was extremely happy to find that their service lived up to all the 5 star reviews.

From a service perspective, Derrell was quick to respond and schedule a visit, he showed up on time and completed the work quickly but thoroughly.  He was happy to explain all the issues and how to fix so I can handle the problem in the future. I also brought up an additional issue without an outdoor outlet unrelated to why I had him come out. He was kind enough to carve out an extra hour to get the part he needed and fix the issue so I did not have to pay an extra service fee.

Normally I would not leave a 5 star review for such an easy fix. However, I could tell just how much he cares about the quality of his (and his team's) work. This might sound corny but Derrell lives in the area, he is proud to be local and that attitude is reflected in the quality of his work. He also is not an old-school electrician. He does work in commercial buildings including new restaurants that demand an electrician that knows how to craft lighting in a stylish manner to improve ambiance. This is purely from conversation but he is a one-stop call for both electrical issues and lighting design projects.

If you live on the North side and need an electrician you would be foolish not to start with Sims and Sons, I know I will be using them for any electrical issues or projects in the future!

Excellent plumbing company. We will use them again for all our plumbing needs. They diagnosed the problem quickly and cleared a clogged sewer line. Very professional and honest.

Excellent experience overall.  Great communication with CJ from the beginning, provided an estimate before starting job and provided helpful recommendations.  Flexible with scheduling.  Lenny was prompt, efficient, and completed the job expediently.  Installed new faucet and addressed code violation, and was courteous, knowledgable, and answered all our questions thoroughly.  Highly recommended.

About as honest and straightforward as it gets.  Great guy and even better plumber!  He explained everything that was going to be done, was flexible around our schedule and most importantly fixed the issue we were having.  I'm glad to find a go to plumber we can depend on with fair and transparent pricing.

Five stars all the way! I had a clogged shower drain. Called Juan yesterday.  He answered right away. Offered to come same day, but next day was better for me. Stated he would be out between 8-9am and was there ready to work. Fixed our problem quickly,  and gave a good price for the work done. Also gave me tips to prevent problem from reoccurring,  so he was also honest. I am not wishing for any more plumbing issues, but if I will choose his company again.

Noel did an amazing job replacing our jammed garbage disposal, and even identified a better way to reroute the plumbing under the kitchen sink to reduce stress on the new garbage disposal. Heck, he even offered to help me carry a large item UPS had just delivered up three flights of stairs.
