Best Plumbing Services in Illinois

They did a good job installing, but did a poor job recommending a toliet. There recommended toilet is very tall and now I can't touch the ground when I go to the bathroom. We'll end getting a new toilet so my back doesn't hurt everyone I go. It's my fault I didn't realize the recommended toilet was too tall but wish they didn't recommend a non standard toilet. They also wouldn't offer a discount when we called and asked if they would reinstall a new one.

On Monday we had just replaced a 20-year-old furnace for our two-flat. On Wednesday morning we woke up to its sibling, the water heater, also dead. Since we're all home all day (pandemic), hot water is kind of important in our lives. What to do? Fastplumbing247 came up with some pretty great reviews here on Yelp and they seemed legit (I try to read between the lines with online reviews).

I gave them a call (after looking up prices on water heaters) and was pleasantly surprised that my experience matched the reviews I had read. I sent a couple photos of the old unit, and within 5 minutes I had an estimate, a lot of questions answered, and a plan to get a new water heater installed that day. They showed up on time (by noon, after I called around 9 am), got the job done (in a tight space), fixed a few additional items along the way, and got the old rusty monster (75 gal) out by 4 pm. The price was totally reasonable and better than I expected. The guy who installed it was friendly, professional, and respected our social-distancing and masking needs (again, the pandemic ...). We didn't go more than 8 hours without hot water. Could have been MUCH worse.

I asked if they do other plumbing work, and the answer was occasionally, but they pretty much just install water heaters all day around Chicago. I imagine that could indeed keep a company busy. Anyway, they've gotten really good at it - efficient, cost-effective, well-prepared, and competent. All the things you want for an appliance that could potentially explode or flood your house. I hope they're available 15-20 years from now when I need to do this again (knock wood).  All the 5-star reviews make sense to me, so I'm adding my own!

Wow. Put these guys on speed dial. Super professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. Logan and his partner came out the same day to inspect a leak, and walked us through all the possible causes and solutions. It gave us huge peace of mind to hear their expertise, and they even comped the visit given our solve wasn't related to plumbing. Amazing! I'll be calling them for all our plumbing needs from here out.

Scotty did an outstanding job. He was very easy to communicate with when it came time to schedule the visit. He was prepared and he was on time (in fact he was even early for the follow up visit). He did a good job and explained things very clearly. The prices were very fair and more clearly communicated than other local plumbers we spoke with for our sink issue.

All and all, no complaints, would highly recommend him.

I had a clogged sewer line which caused sewage to backup into my basement. Rocket came out and attempted to clear the clog by rodding the line, but it was unsuccessful. The rodding cost me $400. Then they suggested the hydro jet method, which was successful in clearing the line. It cost me another $450. So basically I was charged $850 to clear the sewer line. Now they knew that the hydro jet was the better method, but they couldn't make as much money off me that way.  If you ever call this place to clear a clogged sewer line insist that they use the hydro jet method. It costs $50 more than rodding the line, but it's more likely to work.  They know this.  I was never advised to the different options involved. This was an emergency and I didn't have time to do research on the best method to ask for.  Also I was told that that they would get back to me about whether it was a just a clog or a collapsed line. They never did.

Yelp is the best. They responded asap and came out a day later. Understood the issue right away and that I wanted Toto parts for the repair. Bought them from the nest place and texted/ called when done. Probably more expensive that the others who responded but I felt confident and it was DONE!

Windy City Plumbing are an amazing group of people. We have an ongoing issue with some back-flow from on of our drain pipes and Chris has come out a number of times to help us relieve the issue. They have gone out of their way to help us keep our building honest and stress that it's a building issue and not a local issue. They are courtesy and always go out of their way to make sure we are being taken care of. We will definitely be calling them for any future needs. We appreciate them greatly!

We've used First Chicago a couple times.  Back in May, our sump pump died during some heavy rain.  First Chicago was able to get out that day, and put in a new/solid sump pump at a good price.  They were very consultative, and walked me through what they were seeing with our new house.  They also tested out our backup and showed me that it had died.  We liked them so much that we had them come back recently to install a new backup sump pump system.  Again, they were great to work with this time as well (shout out to Martin for the great work, and taking the time to walk me through everything.) Will definitely use these guys for all our plumbing needs moving forward.

Sound Plumbing did a great job fixing my leaking and broken toilet. True professionals through and through, they explained every portion of the repair as they went through it and then told me how I can maintain quality of my pipes after they left. Excellent A+ service.

Our refrigerator stopped working a few days before Christmas, including our waterline and valve to the new fridge. I requested a quote and they came out the same day. Fast, reliable, and friendly!

We had several plumbing problems and called Green Tech Plumbing. They responded quickly with an estimate and  a timely appointment. Dan came over and was very professional. He examined the pipes and explained in detail what was needed. He also reviewed with me how my system works. Great service with a very fair price.

I needed service today because I had a pipe burst from the cold and I had to shut down all water to my house. They gave a quote thru yelp and were able to come out within 90 minutes of me calling them. Their service was excellent, fast and they took care to keep things clean. The plumbers were very friendly and we talked about future work they wil be doing for me. And oh ya, the price was VERY reasonable! I recommend them and will be using them again in the future. Too bad all businesses weren't run as well.

Worst company I've worked with to date. They're customer service sucks. Don't call these guys unless you're totally desperate.

Recently bought a condo and needed electrical work done in multiple rooms. Reached out to Sims and Sons and immediately heard back from Darrell. He gave us a call right away and arranged for Enis to drop in to bid out the work. Just a few days later Enis was back and got everything done in a day! We needed switches relocated, additional outlets added, sconces removed and he got it all done with minimal cuts in the drywall.  He explained everything well and was extremely knowledgeable and friendly!

The project was not a simple plumbing repair; a cold water line beneath a small area of our garage floor had burst before we purchased our home and washing the car and watering a portion of our lawn was challenging.  Only two of the four contractors came-out to even look at the project.  
After a little emailing back and forth I had a cost estimate (reasonable) and scheduled date.  The two plumbers showed up on time and completed the project in half a day; their work was excellent.  They cleaned-up fairly well, but their shoe covers were a little dirty and have to hire someone else to repair the concrete floor.  That's why I rated them a four instead of a five.  While they didn't have as many reviews as others, I won't let that be the deciding factor.  I'd recommend them...

Great experience with this company. Our garbage disposal (we thought) created a clog somewhere, which we thought we had resolved until water started dripping through the basement ceiling. I wanted to get this fixed fast so we could use our kitchen sink and dishwasher again (also I was terrified of the leaking!). I called the first well reviewed company on Yelp.

I am so happy with that decision. Alex at C & J came out within an hour, investigated the issue and called back within an hour with pricing for fixes. He pointed out a problem with the piping between our dishwasher and disposal (previously  raised in our home inspection) and we agreed it should be fixed while working on the original issue. I expected we might see someone in a few days, but they had a guy out within another hour! He went to work methodically until he ran into an issue trying to unclog the pipes. The clog was trapped deep and they couldn't reach it. He talked me through what he was going to try - when that didn't work, he called Alex up (for a more experienced perspective, as I understood it) and Alex came back out to take a look. They talked me through the new plan, which involved cutting out some pieces of pipe. After it was done, they showed me the pipe - it was totally (disgustingly) clogged! They created a new access point for the pipe, so if it gets clogged again, it will be easier to clean.

In summary, C & J was super fast, polite, clear in their explanations and successful. I can't comment on prices bc I didn't call any others to compare, but I was comfortable with what I paid. And Alex even called up the next day to make sure everything was working. Knock on wood, everything looking great so far.

Spoke with Mike over the phone and he gave me some DIY advice on some of the trouble I had with my old faucet. Though, I didn't feel comfortable changing the faucet myself as the pipes I had were old, I decided to have him come over and do it. During the process, I was able to watch and he answered all the questions I had about what he was doing and he answered all the general plumbing questions I had. I would highly recommend him as he's very knowledgable and patient.

Had a slow drain issue and Juan was the only person that got back to me in a timely manner. Showed me where my issue is and made recommendations to avoid this issue again. Definetly recommend and I will be contacting Juan again for any future plumbing issues. Very professional with his work and takes time to figure out the real issue. I can't thank him and his apprentice enough. They were very respectful of property and wore mask due to covid. Again I highly recommend, you will not be disappointed and you will learn a thing or two. Highly satisfied customer.
