Best Plumbing Services in Illinois

Didn't end up using them (wound up fixing the issue myself to save money) but when I talked to them they were the only company that I talked to that was straightforward about what the costs were going to be instead of refusing to quote me over the phone and trying to bamboozle me in person as so many plumbing companies did.

We had a leak on-and-off all week in utility closet. Checking with neighbors, having our air con unit checked and neighbors turns theirs off, the leak got worse Friday night and finally got my husband to cave on Saturday morning to call a plumber in--

We called a half a dozen companies with top reviews, half didn't call us back, and the other said wed-Thursday for next availability. Running 0-6, we were pleasantly surprised to reach a person when calling Fastplumbing247. Mac was very accommodating and advised us to secure access to neighboring unit above us prior to booking to avoid a unproductive consultation. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely responsive.

After reaching our neighbors and confirming accessibility, Mac was able to come out within 2 hours, extremely fast visit and fix the issue. We were very appreciative of the service and accommodation, especially on a Saturday. We would definitely use him in the future and recommend him to our friends and family.

I cannot recommend Jay and Sam more highly.

tl;dr 
Jay and Sam had the opportunity to convince us to complete an expensive fix to a plumbing issue, but instead took their time to find a cheap, 100% effective solution to the root issue.

These are two truly trustworthy plumbers. As I'm sure is true of anyone calling a plumber, I have zero understanding of plumbing. So if a plumber were to recommend a big, expensive fix to a scary problem, I'd have no way of knowing whether that was necessary, or whether they were just suggesting a lot of work for the sake of getting a big payday. 

After working with Jay and Sam, I know that I have found plumbers that I can trust to give me an honest and effective recommendation.

My wife and I called Jay and Sam after we discovered that the tub in our new home was causing a leak in the light fixture on the floor directly below it. This was a very scary problem. After talking with a few plumbers over the phone, all suggested that given that our tub's plumbing was hidden beneath tile, we'd likely have to tear open the ceiling on the floor below to even understand what was going on. Obviously, that would suck.

By the time Jay and Sam came over, we were 100% resigned to the idea that this would be an expensive, and messy process that would leave us with a hole in our ceiling. 

When they arrived, they were very methodical in reproducing the issue, so they could better understand how to fix it. They also continually explained that the last thing we want to do is open up your ceiling if we don't have to, which was a breath of fresh air. 

Eventually, they figured out that the light fixture leak was coming through the overflow drain in the tub. They looked closer at the problem and suggested that we try re-sealing the overflow drain, and giving it 2 days to dry and cure, to make sure that we only opened up the ceiling after exhausting all of our other options. Lo and behold, this simple, easy and cheap solution worked.

Had they told us that we needed to rip open the ceiling, we absolutely would have listened, but the fact that they did everything they could to avoid the cost and inconvenience means that we'll trust them moving forward, no matter what. They were also just plain nice and kind people. I'd recommend them to anyone for any plumbing issue.

Highly recommend. I had an issue with a drain that needed a creative solution. Thomas was the only plumber / contractor that understood my problem and found a way to fix it. He and his crew rerouted a drain from going inside my house to the storm drain. The project involved demo, new pipe, and new concrete. All the work was of high quality and Thomas communicated effectively throughout the process.

Jose is very accomodating, reasonable, and competent.  Everything one wants in a plumber.

I had to replace the trap under my bathroom sink, a cramped space with ancient plumbing.  I attempted the repairs myself, even bought the replacement parts at my local hardware store, but gave up about halfway through the job.  I called Jose because of a review I read on yelp.  We tried to make an appointment for that day, but Jose could not make it.  He came the next day, given a one hour window when my wife would be home, and completed the repairs, using the parts I had purchased.  Another plumber would have charged me 10 times for parts alone.  Jose even gave me a discount because he had cancelled our first appointment!  Incredible.

I would recommend this guy to anyone who asked.  He's getting all my plumbing work from now on. I almost hope something else breaks because he's just so damn pleasant.

We've used First Chicago a couple times.  Back in May, our sump pump died during some heavy rain.  First Chicago was able to get out that day, and put in a new/solid sump pump at a good price.  They were very consultative, and walked me through what they were seeing with our new house.  They also tested out our backup and showed me that it had died.  We liked them so much that we had them come back recently to install a new backup sump pump system.  Again, they were great to work with this time as well (shout out to Martin for the great work, and taking the time to walk me through everything.) Will definitely use these guys for all our plumbing needs moving forward.

I feel that continued excellence always deserves an updated review. It is hard to go though Yelp reviews and decide who you want to choose. If you are looking for a place that will never let you down, this is it. Kevin and his crew, including the person that works with scheduling are amazing to work with.  Polar vortex, frozen busted pipes at 6:00 am in the morning. The entire condo buildings water supply shut off until the repair could be made.  That all happened. Sound plumbing came to save the day.  I could not recommend a business anymore than this one.  Always a super end to a stressful experience. Amazing.

Highly recommend Jesus!  Had an ongoing water issue in our basement and I finally called to get an estimate.   I was impressed with his quick response as he was able to come out within a couple hours.  Once he got here, he was friendly and courteous and thorough.  He identified the problem and had the tools to fix it on the spot.   He did his thing and that was it.  No hassling or trying to recommend other services.  Definitely will be a repeat customer for our future plumbing needs.

We are very pleased with their work. They were prompt and knowledgeable and made sure to leave a clean worksite.  They were also reasonably priced.

Over the weekend, we experienced some grey water backing up in our utility room. We determined that the culprit was likely a backup originating from the kitchen sink/drain. We called Midwest Hydro Jetting yesterday (Sunday) and was able to quickly get an appointment for this morning. They even called us shortly afterward to let us know that we could move up the appointment time if we wanted to, which we appreciated.

Mike and Danny showed up promptly at 9am and they quickly got to work determining the source of the issue. They confirmed that line from the kitchen sink need to be rodded (as well as a pipe down in the utility room). Throughout the process, they were very communicative and explained every step. They answered every question we had and were done within 45 minutes.

Overall, I was very pleased with the quality of their work and would gladly hire them again if the need arises.

Adam A came same day even though I said it wasn't an emergency. Very helpful and told me exactly what was needed.  He even tighten a screw in my tub faucet that needed tightening at no extra cost.  I highly recommend.  The fast response on a Saturday was awesome. Thanks guys!

Hristo was great! He responded so quickly. He gave a competitive price. He even had to go to his store and come back for a specific part to fix our weird sink problem. He also wore a mask and booties the whole time. Will definitely use ABV plumbing in the future!

We were having ongoing sump pump issues and our neighbor recommended CJ Plumbing. Dmitry responded within minutes of my initial call and he came out the next day (on a Saturday) to check it out. He diagnosed the problem and explained it clearly so that I could understand. Within a day or two he quoted a few potential solutions with corresponding prices, we agreed to a plan, then his plumber arrived a few days after that. His plumber was friendly and considerate (shoes, mask etc.) and got right to work. The job was completed quickly and the work is much more solid and professional than other plumbers I have used in the past. Absolutely would use CJ Plumbing again in the future.

We began calling multiple companies as we had limited time in Chicago with my 95 year old aunt before heading back to Florida. Juan was quick to respond and come to give us an estimate. We showed him 3 areas on her 90 year old pipes that had leaks and he gave us a price. During the repair he found the leak was way inside the wall. He said he'd try to reach it through an access hole already in the wall but may need to go by the actual tile/tub side. Oh no we thought. He did repair using the access side. Every step of the way he explained what he needed to do. We also threw in a possible kitchen sink and cabinet replacement which he was ready to tackle with his teenage son and my husband but we decided not to do it in the end. He had already cut a hole in the counter top which was perfect and we are holding onto it for future use. His son Eddie, was a great laborer and very polite. We will never use anyone else for our plumbing needs in Chicago. No one could beat his prices for the amount of time he spent with us. Thank you so much Juan and Eddie.

I have used Noel from Five Plumbing  twice in the last couple of months, both times to diagnose and fix leaking toilets. On both occasions Noel was prompt, professional and communicative, showing me what the problem was and what needed to be done to fix it. He worked methodically, quickly and left the bathrooms clean and tidy when he left.  I have had no recurrence of the leaks in either case.   I was completely satisfied with his work and he will be my first call for any plumbing needs I have in the future.  Thanks Noel!
