We had all the faucets set to fast drip...except for the kitchen sink, which is right against the outside wall. So, no running water in the kitch this morning. Hey, we got these space heaters! One under the sink, one in the basement, what could possibly go wrong?

(fast forward a few hours)

Hey, the faucet is starting to drip just a bit! Hooray! But, what's that strange sound coming from the basement?

(cut to basement shot)

Why, it's the Bellagio fountains! Beautiful! Hot steamy water just pouring down the wall. Picturesque in its own horribly messy way. Quick! move all the laundry stuff, drag the junky rug out of the way. How to stop the water? Who were the plumbers we used before?
Yelp to the rescue! I just started speed dialing thru the list, leaving messages, texts, asking for a plumber TODAY. My wife comes home after braving the weather to perform her canine mobility and support work in the sub-zero arctic conditions. Oh great!
We BOTH start calling every plumbing number we can find.

About an hour into the telethon, I get a call back!

Vinny and his buddy Henry made it here and fixed not 1, not 2, but THREE burst pipes. It's a temp fix, and they're coming back on Saturday to make it all nice and spiffy again.

Rosso did a great job with the shower faucet, replaced a light switch and 4 ceiling lamps for me.

Needed a new sewer pump and they replaced it in less than 30 minutes. Highly recommend. They are very efficient. They answer right away. Good customer service.

Had a gas line issue and needed to get a section of pipe replaced quickly. Luckily I found Moody Plumbing as they did an incredible job. Not only were they very fairly priced, they came out quickly and were very professional. The work they did looks great and they even came out same day.

Can't give these guys enough praise and it was great to find honest and reasonable plumbers who clearly know their stuff. I would strongly encourage you to at least give them a call if you need plumbing work done.

Scott came out to fix a leaky kitchen faucet. He was very pleasant, got right to work and gave me some great tips on Moen's lifetime guarantee on parts, which it turned out I didn't need. We've used Preferred Plumbing before and always have found them quick to respond with great service. However, after today's encounter with them, I wanted to take time to leave a review. I failed to get the plumber's name, but initials on the invoice are MJ.

Late last night I was cleaning out cabinets and tossing various items into my garbage disposal. Without too much thought, I poured in a half bag of dry black beans. After awhile, the sink stopped draining and I knew I'd made a huge error in judgement. I scooped out a lot of the now chopped black beans in hopes that would do the trick. Also suctioned out all of the extra water in the sink, and tried a plunger ... all fails! Fessed up to my husband who called Preferred Plumbing.

I was NOT looking forward to facing the plumber with my confession. One other time, I'd stopped up the disposal with flower stems (thinking they were like vegetables) and had gotten a friendly lecture from the plumber (not from PP). However M. J. could not have been nicer or more professional. Never once did he reprimand my error in judgement. He was pleasant while he took apart the drain (which was totally clogged with now hardened black bean pieces). When I apologized again he jokingly said that he'd heard that garbage disposals are a plumber's best friend and that I was not alone in all of this. He was friendly, efficient, cleaned up everything and when I offered him a tip for his positive attitude, he tried to refuse it. It was truly a pleasure working with him. He made a very positive impression on me (and I'll try not to dispose of other items just to see him in the future!).

Dominick is the best. He was able to see me same day, fixed the issue quickly, and was incredibly nice. I will absolutely call him again if I have any plumbing issues.

Called Patrick for a problem with our water tank. He came out the next day to fix the problem, very fair prices and efficient.

My kitchen sink was leaking badly right before Xmas. Quick response & instructions. He was able to fit me in before the winter storm so I had a new garbage disposal in time for all the Holiday cooking I planned. Very satisfied and would highly recommend!

We had a bit of an emergency at the house because we didn't know where the shutoff was and I was in the hospital so I couldn't help. I called and they took care of everything from calling the city to have them come turn it off, to getting someone there same day, and telling us what to buy for replacement. Have came and did a great job installing and then the next day, we still didn't have hot water so I called and Jason walked us through restarting our hot water heater over the phone. I have hired Jorge from Right Away twice for separate issues.  He arrived on time, was efficient, and provided a good explanation of the issue and his recommendations.  I would recommend the company and will use them again in the future.

i have used Szabo a couple times in the past. i think they are a first class outfit. having said that,        around the first of December i called to have a humidifier replaced on my furnace this was a direct replacement. same as what was on there. i sent tech pix of unit as requested. i was quoted $800.00 to do job i declined. i decided to do it myself how hard could it be? direct replacement. well it took me about one hour .i got a new in the box on EBAY for $175 with shipping $225.00.i think this is  way out of line. close to $400.00 an hour. any way you look at it.i post this not out of meanes but to warn cust.

The sink and garbage disposal in our kitchen have been clogging up for the past week or so. I turned to yelp for plumbing suggestions and saw that this company was highly recommended.

When Peter arrived, he diagnosed the problem and accurately determined that the issue was not within our condo but was with lines in the building. He advised me to check in with the condo association for them to fix it.

This is noteworthy because he was not just trying to get paid, but to actually help fix the problem.  When you call plumbers and similar companies, it's usually because you do not know how to resolve the issue on your own and need someone to give good advice.  

Some people take advantage of the fact that you don't know how to fix whatever issue and they try to convince you to do work that you don't actually need.  Not Peter -- he was very honest and like I said, gave accurate advice even though that would have meant not getting paid.  I appreciate people with integrity and would definitely work with Peter again.
