After my previous plumber broke my toilet and didn't want to replace it...I had to venture out once again into the scary land of finding a new plumber.  We all know how tricky and harrowing this can be.  Will I be overcharged?  Will the job be done right?

After some pretty deep Google research, I came across Drain-Eez and today Lou came in to reset my toilet and put in a new wax ring.  There were some complications, and a nasty mess I won't detail, but Lou handled it all in stride with a smile and polite conversation.  He not only did a fabulous job resetting the toilet, but taught me several things about: my sink, my toilet, my slate tile, and even Chicago drinking water.  To top it all off, I paid a very reasonable flat rate that was lower than the 5 other plumbers I contacted.

We had the most wonderful experience with Jim and I can now see why he has so many stellar reviews. Last week our 20-year old boiler started making noise. We got it inspected from our company. They told that the boiler is leaking and should be replaced but were reluctant to do so due to the tight space along with furnace. Another highly-rated plumber was also reluctant, wanted us to get electricians do some work before they come. Jim, on the other hand, asked us to text pictures, understood the situation immediately, and gave a written quote in minutes. He accommodated my travel schedule. Jim made the task look easy when other plumbers were reluctant to handle. And he did it at a fraction of what others were asking for. One company asked more than three times the amount. I wouldn't think twice about calling Jim for a water heater issue.

Had originally booked my usual service to clear a clogged /backed up drain. Though when the time window came along I got a prompt call asking if they could reschedule to the following day. That too after waiting most of the day. (Unfortunate events occurred and they were stuck on other calls.) I needed this drain cleared pronto and could not wait any longer. So, I leaned on a referral a friend passed along and called Rescue.

From the time I placed the call to the time they were on my property, the rescue operation went quick and they were in and out in no time. I was surprised at how quickly my service window was offered and the time they made it on site. Note, the repair happened a couple weeks back during lockdown. I was assured that their staff would have ppe on when dealing with the public.

The work: A clogged kitchen sink on the first floor of an apartment building. In apartment buildings the line is shared (with those above it) and in the event of a clog or backup, that unit will suffer the backup of all (however many) units.

The cost: Affordable.

The next time I've got a plumbing emergency, glad to know another trusted service provider I can call to the Rescue.

Went to  get additional connection hoses that would work for my kitchen faucet replacement, and fixed a pipe with a large hole, all for less than his initial estimate. Highly recommend. I discovered this business through Yelp in an emergency situation. Our basement was flooding due to blockage of the sewer/drain pipe. I received a response to my inquiry early in the morning and had an appointment not long after. David and the team determined the probable issue quickly and were able  return to fix it by mid day.  He told me from the start what the cost range would be, depending on whether they needed to unclog from two places or one, so when they need to go to the second option, I already knew the cost and could agree quickly.

Completely satisfied with Green Tech Plumbing.

I needed some advice or inspection on my sump battery.  Instead of a service call, the owner of the company texted me a few things to check, and I was able to resolve it.  Super helpful!  Then, my mother needed plumbing assistance with a basement that occasionally gets water from the sewer line to the street backflowing during very heavy rains.  Green Tech came out, suggested a very cost effective way of dealing with it (retrofitting the basement drains with check-drains that seal shut when a backflow condition exists), and a fair estimate for the work.  We also agreed that doing  video inspection of the clay sewer line would be a good idea, and set an appointment for the next week.  The plumber that came out was friendly and professional, and declared the sewer line 100% open upon inspection.  Then he got to work on the check-drains, got it done faster than estimated, and so the bill was about 40% less than the estimate.  So each job is unique and this one was probably a bit easier than expected, but just charging what it took said a lot.

In summary:  Excellent communication, flexible on the time to come out for an estimate (6:30am, no other plumbers I called would be that accommodating), fair pricing (I don't think $150 an hour is out of line, given that that covers estimating time, expert labor, truck and tools, overhead and profit), and quick and tidy workmanship.  My mom's water problem got solved for a bill of approx. $450- not bad, considering!

I'm going to just call Green Tech when I need a good local plumber.  These guys are tops.

I had a clogged sump pump that needed attention. I called one highly rated company who told me that it could not be repaired but that I would instead need a new $2700 Zolar pump job. I'm glad that I called Captain for a second opinion. Andrew came out and quickly assessed the situation, fixed the problem and only charged me $250!!! He was honest and never up sold me. Many companies take advantage of single women but Andrew did not. I will forever be a loyal customer as a result. Thanks Andrew, you're awesome!!

Messaged Sims and Sons about an issue with our toilet and not only did we hear back within the hour but they came out that evening to give a free estimate. Great customer service and very honest pricing. We would use Sims and Sons again with any future issues.

ABV plumbing did a great job. I needed a plumber they quoted a good price and Ivo came at the time that they said they would. He was very efficient and did a great job and was done in a timely manner. I will definitely use them again.

On a Sunday, our ejector pump died. We started a help claim from yelp and CJ Plumbing was one of the first to reply. The owner, Dmitry, was available on a Sunday to troubleshoot our situation over the phone. He figured out a way to temporarily bypass our issue. This saved us money by being able to wait until normal hours to get service. It was amazing and provided us with a huge relief!

I have a tenant in Rogers Park and needed someone who would be able to go to the tenant and take care of a clogged sink. (I do not live near enough to be able to head over on short notice myself.) Mike responded to my request almost immediately, we talked on the phone and I provided him with all the information I thought would be helpful. He gave me a very reasonable quote and was able to schedule an appointment with my tenant and handle everything that needed to be done. The job was not too small for him! So grateful that he was able to come out and handle this for me and quickly! My tenant said that Mike was an awesome dude and everything is now running smoothly. I found Noel of Five Plumbing solely from the rave reviews he has received on YELP, and my experience with him is entirely consistent with those reviews.  Noel is outstanding ... everything you want in a contractor.  I hired him to repair leaking kitchen sink pipe, and to remove a non-working garbage disposal and install a new one.  He provided me with a reasonable estimate over the phone, he showed up on time, and he is as professional as any contractor I have ever employed.  Based upon our interaction on the phone and throughout the couple of hours he devoted to this work, Noel struck me as being very knowledgeable, eminently honest and exceptionally conscientious.  The leak is repaired, the new disposal installed and working just fine, and I could not have been more pleased with the service.
