Miguel, from T & D,  came to our condo to repair a water heater's 230 volt circuit switch in our utilities closet. He was on time, courteous, and took appropriate Covid safety measures. As I was without hot water, they made a special effort to get the work done in less than 24 hours after I initially called.  Miguel worked quickly to successfully replaced the switch. As with the first time I used T & D, the work was done professionally and in a courteous manner. The cost was very reasonable. I feel fortunate to have found a great electrical service and will definitely use them again as needs arise.

Unfortunately my house is out of his service area, but his responsiveness was excellent.  Super quick reply time.

Quality at affordable prices. Had him do several things including installation and fixing some other electrical issues. Other places quoted weeks to come out, he completed the job in under 7 days. Will definitely call for all future electrical work.

I reached out via Yelp on a Friday, and Chris came out on Saturday to take a look and provide an estimate (work across two units in our multi-family building). His prices were reasonable and we were able to get scheduled within a few days. He and his team did high quality work very efficiently. We'll definitely call him next time we need electrical help!

Amazing service and easy to book! Great workers and very knowledgable! They were able to put together an entire chandelier and hang it within a few hours. Steer Clear. This is not a legitimate electrical company. Gave me an estimate and did the electrical work for an EV charger in our condo building. Even though building management didn't request City of Chicago license initially, they checked for it later (it can be asked for at any time) and this company is not licensed in the City of Chicago and its illegal to do residential work without it. The job was done completely wrong and he almost blew the sump pump and electrical to entire building by connecting to a panel inexplicably and was told not to. Installed wiring that was bent and broken and taped together which could have caused shocks and burning. New contractor easily installed it - no bends or breaks. The wall outlet installed was open and exposed, and if water dripped to it could electrocute people. Sloppy, cut corners, dangerous, illegal and not up to code. Absolute garbage, rushed work. Refused to get City of Chicago license and come fix job. We will be pursuing our money back. This is an illegitimate electrical company. Avoid at all costs.

Addendum to review:

Right, I'm not an electrician , but here are couple facts that a real electrician should have known and done, that found out about your job.

You were told by the building engineer to use the 480/277 volt panel because 208/120 was already at the capacity.

You just plainly ignored that and proceeded with your version. Maybe you don't know the difference between two.

You ran 208/ 120 wires through 480/277 panel which was a huge code violation and a human life safety issue.

And that's not all:

Then you spliced those wires inside that panel multiple times -- code violation.

You then decided to use lightning contractor conduit to run the wires and overfill that conduit -- code violation.

You installed the breaker at the wrong panel (which was at capacity) so you overloaded that panel.

The wire was badly scraped

You removed pipe straps and made the electrical conduit loose -- code violation.

J boxes that you installed were unsecured and loose with knock outs missing -- code violation

I'm still waiting on the city of Chicago electrical registration paperwork  from you.

A qualified electrician would know right away that he is working with 480/277 volts and would have informed me that i needed a step down transformer in order for the EV charger to work!

On top things you have charged me over $2K for 2 J boxes and a roll of #6 wire, which costs $600 at the most. The piping was already 97% there , so what took you so long.

It took a qualified electrician a total of 8 hours to remove the faulty work and install everything from scratch including installing the transformer.

We'll happily accept a refund to settle this matter

Jose from Tweaks & Finishes was very quick to reply to communications and then to submit his bid.

He priced the job very competitively, scheduled it for later that day, arrived a few minutes early.

He unpacked and installed the fixture correctly, carefully, and even requested my confirmation of approval (placement, pendant light height, etc.) at each step.

He worked cleanly, fast, was 100% competent, and very friendly the whole time.

No surprises or disappointments.

Needed a Tesla wall charger installed in our garage.  Jake showed up on time and offered a few different options with full explanation of each.

Once we agreed on scope and price he went to work.  You could tell he has installed a ton of these.   Job was completed in a timely manner and he left the area cleaner than when he started.  

Charger has been used daily for a few months now without issue.  Would recommend.

These guys know what they're doing, and they do it right.

I was in the incredibly stressful process of moving apartments and had scheduled an appointment with another electrician (Bright Sparks; avoid at all costs) to change out a light fixture from my old place and reinstall it in my new one, but when the time came for my scheduled appointment, the other guys were a total no-show, leaving me scrambling to find another electrician while already coordinating movers, cleaners, etc. I called Blacklite and left a voicemail, to which Neville promptly responded with his signature text message explaining the timing and charges. I know some reviews have complained about this method, but as a fully-functioning millennial I use texting as frequently and effectively as any other form of modern communication, so I find his practice to be pleasantly concise. Within 90 minutes, Neville had sent out his adept (and remarkably friendly) assistant Johnny, who handled the light fixture removal and reinstallation at both locations quickly and efficiently.

It turns out I had actually employed Neville a few years ago for another installation and had forgotten it was the same company, but they gave me the first-time customer discount again anyway. They thoroughly and clearly explained the charges, and even threw in a free light switch to replace one which had been sticking. Not only did these guys save the day and finish the job just in the nick of time before my big move, but they also did it with gusto. I highly recommend Blacklite for any electrical needs you might have, especially after dealing with other less professional servicemen.

We've used Kinetic Energy twice in the past year -- one job was a small job (running a new light switch), and the second was much bigger (upgrading our service to 200 amps). Both experiences were great -- everyone was super nice and professional, the work was clean and detailed, and the cost was fair. I've felt burned in the past with residential electrical contractors -- but Kinetic are by far the best I've hired, and wouldn't hesitate to use them again. THANKS!

I had 3 people come out for discussions on our project and Tom came up with great recommendations for outdoor installation of lights and fixed some landscaping spotlights. He was reliable, helped pick out products and did a great job.  I'd definitely recommend him and will use him for future projects.

Alex did a great job replacing a broken switch. He responded quickly to my initial request and was fast in communicating throughout the scheduling process. We are very happy with the quality of work.
We'll likely have to have most of our old wiring replaced and are looking forward to have Alex and his team back. Seems to be a newer company, and I'm glad we took a chance on them.

I was VERY pleased with the 3 tasks my Fixer completed! He installed a motion doctor light and camera over my garage, installed a lazy Susan in my cupboard and replaced a rubber ring (that lines the door or my clothes washer. I had all the parts on hand, but had no clue how to install them. His work was professional and he worked quickly!! Highly recommend this company!!
