AC/DC provided quick response and quality work. He was honest when unable to finish the job but returned soon thereafter and finished a good job.

Absolutely fantastic company.  I called Darrell yesterday evening about issue with my electric outlets in my garage.  He sent Enis the next morning and the issue was resolved in 20 minutes.  Enis was thorough, polite and got the job done!! They were professional, on time, followed all Covid requirements and made my life easier.  I would highly recommend Sims and Sons for any future needs or issues.

They were great! I asked for an early appointment and they scheduled me for 7 am....guess what? They were actually there at 7 - none of these 5 hour windows I hate so much. The technicians were very polite, very professional.  And, they were done quickly - I actually made it to work on time! The price was more than fair, and I'm thrilled to have my power back. I reached out via Yelp on a Friday, and Chris came out on Saturday to take a look and provide an estimate (work across two units in our multi-family building). His prices were reasonable and we were able to get scheduled within a few days. He and his team did high quality work very efficiently. We'll definitely call him next time we need electrical help!

So I reached out to this company through Yelp about a month ago.
At first they seemed quick to respond and willing to help but I still do not have a response for the work I wanted done.

A gentleman contacted me and asked a few questions and then gave me a time and date to come look at the house for estimates. He was late to the appoint by nearly an hour due to a car appointment running over longer than expected.

He gave me some solid advice saying to look into my internet provide to get the work installed (I did, but tried again with no luck). I did appreciate the recommendation. I thought it was sweet.

After researching my internet provider again. I texted that same gentleman about getting work done.
No response. I texted him again about 2 days later only to be given a number of someone else because he was out of town.

I called the number and left a voicemail only to be never contacted. You win some you lose some.

Ryan is very professional, thorough, and provided excellent service.  He replaced a very old chandelier and three way switches.  He explained everything fully, quick and cleaned up afterward.  I'll be going to Ryan for all my future electrical needs.

Jimmy moved a junction box and installed a new vanity fixture.  He was knowledgeable, professional, and did a terrific job.  Would definitely hire this company again.

Steer Clear. This is not a legitimate electrical company. Gave me an estimate and did the electrical work for an EV charger in our condo building. Even though building management didn't request City of Chicago license initially, they checked for it later (it can be asked for at any time) and this company is not licensed in the City of Chicago and its illegal to do residential work without it. The job was done completely wrong and he almost blew the sump pump and electrical to entire building by connecting to a panel inexplicably and was told not to. Installed wiring that was bent and broken and taped together which could have caused shocks and burning. New contractor easily installed it - no bends or breaks. The wall outlet installed was open and exposed, and if water dripped to it could electrocute people. Sloppy, cut corners, dangerous, illegal and not up to code. Absolute garbage, rushed work. Refused to get City of Chicago license and come fix job. We will be pursuing our money back. This is an illegitimate electrical company. Avoid at all costs.

Addendum to review:

Right, I'm not an electrician , but here are couple facts that a real electrician should have known and done, that found out about your job.

You were told by the building engineer to use the 480/277 volt panel because 208/120 was already at the capacity.

You just plainly ignored that and proceeded with your version. Maybe you don't know the difference between two.

You ran 208/ 120 wires through 480/277 panel which was a huge code violation and a human life safety issue.

And that's not all:

Then you spliced those wires inside that panel multiple times -- code violation.

You then decided to use lightning contractor conduit to run the wires and overfill that conduit -- code violation.

You installed the breaker at the wrong panel (which was at capacity) so you overloaded that panel.

The wire was badly scraped

You removed pipe straps and made the electrical conduit loose -- code violation.

J boxes that you installed were unsecured and loose with knock outs missing -- code violation

I'm still waiting on the city of Chicago electrical registration paperwork  from you.

A qualified electrician would know right away that he is working with 480/277 volts and would have informed me that i needed a step down transformer in order for the EV charger to work!

On top things you have charged me over $2K for 2 J boxes and a roll of #6 wire, which costs $600 at the most. The piping was already 97% there , so what took you so long.

It took a qualified electrician a total of 8 hours to remove the faulty work and install everything from scratch including installing the transformer.

We'll happily accept a refund to settle this matter

Jose and Rodney are great! We needed more electrical work than we thought, but Jose did not charge more than the original quoted price except for more equipment that was needed for some unforeseen problems that came up. Rodney did a great job painting and even did some minor covering of a small spot of ugly color on my walls. I will soon ask them to install some recessed lighting as they already explained the procedure. What a great team!

Highly recommend Jake and his team for electrical projects large and small. Early on during COVID he installed a new outlet so we could relocate a desk and while there provided some options for adding light to our dimly lit basement. We finally contacted him for the basement work and he responded right away and was able to come within a few days. The basement looks fantastic and Jake went out of his way making multiple trips to stores looking for hard to find parts. Fair prices and high quality work!

Trademen drive me crazy! They get paid as much as a doctor or lawyer yet they: leave you waiting for days, cancel at the last minute, jack up the cost over the estimate, and leave a mess behind for you to clean up.

BUT NOT BLACKLITE! I called Neville (notice we all call him by his first name - I also am on a first name basis with the two excellent electricians who helped, Alex and Johnny) and he promptly got back to me, scheduled a time, provided an estimate, showed up on time, provided excellent advice, did excellent work, and charged me exactly what he quoted even though it took more time than expected.

His quote was $400 less than the other electrician that cancelled on me after I had taken the day off work to meet them.

Great work, and great guys. Stop looking around for an electrician. There is none better than Blacklite.

Due to the high number of burglaries, I decided to have exterior motion lights installed.  Boy was I was happy I hired Kinetic Energy!  Employees James and Fernando were extremely knowledgeable, professional, friendly and their work was neat.  I Will definitely use this company again.

Tom and his crew do such great work! Highly recommend them. They installed 4 outdoor outlets in our yard and also trenched wires underground so they were no longer exposed to the elements. They were on time, flexible, and just care about doing the job right. Tom is a really nice guy who walks you through all the work ahead of time. Don't hesitate to reach out to him!

Frank is very professional.  Showed up when he said he would, explained what he was doing, and even provided a lower price than what he first quoted.  I will definitely call him again for any electrical job.  Highly recommend!

Alex did a great job replacing a broken switch. He responded quickly to my initial request and was fast in communicating throughout the scheduling process. We are very happy with the quality of work.
We'll likely have to have most of our old wiring replaced and are looking forward to have Alex and his team back. Seems to be a newer company, and I'm glad we took a chance on them.

I will be using Fixer from this point forward. I absolutely love their online booking system. I just finished having electrical work and a ceiling fan installed done by Ricordo. He was very knowledgeable, fast and provided great customer service. I'm super happy I found this company. Can't say enough good things about Fixer. Thank you!
