I recommend this company.  They came in a finished a job efficiently and effectively.  They are smart, hardworking and honest.

I needed help fast with an electrical shortage that had half the outlets in my house not working. Darrell was able to come the next day and it took him all of five minutes to fix the problem. Real nice and honest electrician. I had a light switch in my kitchen go out the next day and I sent Darrell a message and he responded within 5 minutes to see what the problem was exactly, but I was able to fix it myself. His service is fantastic.I will for sure give him a call for future electrical and plumbing problems, highly recommend to anyone.

Our building meter gang unit failed.  We needed to quickly replace the 4 meter gang unit that serves our entire building, combine the common area meter into the system, and replace the panel for the common area. In addition a ground rod and wire had to be installed.  Not only was T&D Electrical responsive in giving us a bid, which was very fair, but in doing the work professionally.  All of work was expertly done outside, with the needed permit, while it snowed and iced and wind blustered.  The electricians were experts in what they installed and we passed ComEd inspection.

Ted is great! Fixed what I had screwed up and walked me through were I went wrong. Very fair priced and great communication.

Joe was great!  He was on time and extremely responsive throughout my communication with him.  I needed a simple light installed in an awkward place and he was able to quickly install it and did so at a very reasonable price.  Other electricians stated that I needed to re-wire everything, but he was able to come in and do the job efficiently and at a great price.  I highly recommend!

Chris was AMAZING! He was super reliable and took such great care in my forever home. He has come back twice and each time he has exceeded my expectations and I've already given his info to many friends who could use some electrical work. He hung 3  huge chandeliers with care and even made one work that didn't come with the parts needed from the manufacturer. He then hung an additional 6 other lights and even changed all my lightbulbs so they matched in color!

He also came back and hung two tvs for me the second visit which I can assure you will not be his last!

Over the weekend a pretty rough storm came through and worked a number on my front porch light causing a short to occur and loss of electric through the entire upstairs of my home. After ruling out a blown fuse, immediately, I was concerned about the safety of my home and what costs might be associated with this type of repair.  But unfortunately, it was a Saturday and I knew it might be difficult to have someone come out right away without it costing me an arm and a leg.  After doing a search, I was lucky enough to have found Greenline Electric, Edward answered the phone, put my concerns at ease and within an hour was at my home, with an assistant, and ready to evaluate and take care of the issue. My husband Tony contacted Ryan yesterday regarding a partial power outage at my mother's home the night before. Tony met him there and he checked the electrical service box. He determined there was a problem with the existing wiring and promptly traced, found and repaired the source of  intermittent interruptions.

I highly recommend Highlights. Needed a second opinion on some electrical repairs, and Baz was able to make it out for an estimate the next day (he would've come the same day if I'd been available!). Not only was he able to match the competitor's price, but he included a few small additional services on top, and was able to book me only 3 days later (again, would've been 2 if not for myself).

Raul and Jose showed up on time, in masks, and made an effort to keep as much of the snow outside as possible. Then they spent 2 hours outside installing a ground rod when it was only 5 degrees F. They cleaned up my electrical panel and installed a new circuit to replace a hazardous power strip in the basement left behind by the previous owner.

When they were finished, Jose took the time to mop up any slush from outside, which was very much appreciated. I'm very happy with the work they did.

These folks are great, I'd definitely return to Highlights in the future.

Steer Clear. This is not a legitimate electrical company. Gave me an estimate and did the electrical work for an EV charger in our condo building. Even though building management didn't request City of Chicago license initially, they checked for it later (it can be asked for at any time) and this company is not licensed in the City of Chicago and its illegal to do residential work without it. The job was done completely wrong and he almost blew the sump pump and electrical to entire building by connecting to a panel inexplicably and was told not to. Installed wiring that was bent and broken and taped together which could have caused shocks and burning. New contractor easily installed it - no bends or breaks. The wall outlet installed was open and exposed, and if water dripped to it could electrocute people. Sloppy, cut corners, dangerous, illegal and not up to code. Absolute garbage, rushed work. Refused to get City of Chicago license and come fix job. We will be pursuing our money back. This is an illegitimate electrical company. Avoid at all costs.

Addendum to review:

Right, I'm not an electrician , but here are couple facts that a real electrician should have known and done, that found out about your job.

You were told by the building engineer to use the 480/277 volt panel because 208/120 was already at the capacity.

You just plainly ignored that and proceeded with your version. Maybe you don't know the difference between two.

You ran 208/ 120 wires through 480/277 panel which was a huge code violation and a human life safety issue.

And that's not all:

Then you spliced those wires inside that panel multiple times -- code violation.

You then decided to use lightning contractor conduit to run the wires and overfill that conduit -- code violation.

You installed the breaker at the wrong panel (which was at capacity) so you overloaded that panel.

The wire was badly scraped

You removed pipe straps and made the electrical conduit loose -- code violation.

J boxes that you installed were unsecured and loose with knock outs missing -- code violation

I'm still waiting on the city of Chicago electrical registration paperwork  from you.

A qualified electrician would know right away that he is working with 480/277 volts and would have informed me that i needed a step down transformer in order for the EV charger to work!

On top things you have charged me over $2K for 2 J boxes and a roll of #6 wire, which costs $600 at the most. The piping was already 97% there , so what took you so long.

It took a qualified electrician a total of 8 hours to remove the faulty work and install everything from scratch including installing the transformer.

We'll happily accept a refund to settle this matter

Overall great experience with Jose the owner.  I am an active duty Solider currently not in the Chicagoland area and Jose was able to assist with a dry wall repair in my ceiling.  He updated me through the process was ok with communication via text and phone.  This process was super easy especially considering I was not present on site.  I highly recommend them.

Highly recommend Jake and his team for electrical projects large and small. Early on during COVID he installed a new outlet so we could relocate a desk and while there provided some options for adding light to our dimly lit basement. We finally contacted him for the basement work and he responded right away and was able to come within a few days. The basement looks fantastic and Jake went out of his way making multiple trips to stores looking for hard to find parts. Fair prices and high quality work!

Neville, owner of Blacklite, does a tremendous job of communicating (via text, which is fine by me) with regard to gathering project information, setting timelines, expectations, etc. I had him and his team install overhead recessed lighting in three rooms, a fan in one, and lighting under my kitchen counter. They did excellent work! Even after the overhead lighting they installed were defective out of the box (from the lighting manufacturer), they replaced them free of charge several days later...amazing customer service! Lastly, I really got the feeling that Neville was an honest guy and always tried to do what was best for me. I would highly recommend Blacklite for an electrical job and will use them in future should I have a need!

I had a problem that two other local electric companies couldn't fix - pulling wire up to a second floor laundry to turn a 20 amp outlet into a 30 amp outlet.  Well, one of them wanted to charge a small fortune to attempt it, and another said he didn't think it could be done.  Carlos came out with a helper, looked things over, and had me fixed up the same day.  He stopped by later with two cover plates to choose from, which he didn't even have to do, in my opinion.  Was super professional and friendly the whole time.  And the price I paid was reasonable.  

So it's not like I hope I have future electrical problems or anything, but if I do I'm never calling anyone else as long as I live in River Forest.

Honest, transparent about costs, and delivered excellent work on time for installing an electric car charger. He looked up specs on the car company website, going the extra mile to ensure he did the best work.

Ted changed out fixtures throughout our house, including a difficult chandelier in our dining room. He also fixed a hot outlet and looked at our garage electrical. He was on time, fairly priced, and did great work. We'll be using him again.

Very responsive and responsible. Alex tried to help us trouble shoot over the phone to save us money. When that didn't work he showed up promptly, diagnosed the issue, and fixed the bad breaker.

Best pricing around and great young guy working hard for his business. Highly recommended.
