Asked for a quote to replace 3 faucets in my home. After the usual back and forth about the details I sent pictures of the faucets and was waiting for a quote. Get a call back and am asked to sit down. Was told it would cost $300+ dollars PER faucet to do a replacement. Seriously?? From pictures??  Not very professional. Good news is I ended up doing the work on my own spending about $100 at home depot. Thanks!

We got a hold of Jim after our water heater was making a clicking noise all night. He asked for some photos and ultimately said it could be a repair, but putting money into a 10 year old unit was probably not a good investment. He gave us a quote over the phone and didn't pressure us to proceed. We looked around just to get a general idea on pricing and he was very fair considering we live on the 4th floor with no elevator. Jim removed the unit and installed the new one quickly and (for covid times) wore a mask. He explained the details of the new unit afterwards and reminded me to register for the warranty. No one really wants to replace their water heater, but he made it as painless as possible. No more clicking, and tons of hot water.

We detected a leak in the basement and called them first thing in the morning. Rescue Plumbing had someone available right away! However, we weren't available until 4pm and they were able to accommodate.

Thomas and his crew cleared out our main line for a third of the cost that other plumbers were quoting. Instead of installing a new clean out like other plumbers suggested, he figured out how to clear roots using the catch basin.

They responded quickly, explained the problem and their pricing, and addressed the issue in an efficient and professional manner.

This review is based on numerous plumbing services costing well over a thousand dollars provided on a single day. Two events occurred that never should have happened. The details:

About a week before the work date, the lead plumber (?owner) Eugene, advised me that  the main water supply in the house will have to be turned off for some of the various jobs, and he warned that when the water is turned on again it is likely to be discolored and have some sediment. A fair and thoughtful warning.  Early in the work day I reminded him of his warning and I suggested that installation of two new replacement kitchen faucets be done last, after the water main had been turned on again and after the system was flushed.  Eugene assured me that there would be no problem.  A few hours later, Eugene told me that he had installed the first kitchen faucet but it was useless because it was clogged by sediment. Yes, just incredible.  

Eugene also installed a new single handle shower faucet.  About a day later, I contacted him and complained that there is just a little warm water coming from the shower while before his repair there was an excellent flow of hot water.  He answered that it sounds like the faucet got clogged due to rust and sediments from the old plumbing.  He recommended to flush the water heater or replace it if it's over 10-12 y.o. but that he'd have to charge me his minimum fee of $150 as he's not responsible for any existing plumbing conditions. I explained that this is not an issue of diminished flow, but rather, the shower handle only turns 90 degrees, from 3 o'clock back to 12 o'clock, and it is supposed to turn 120 degrees. He answered that the shower handle is supposed to be turning from 12-3 according to the shower faucet model you got... I then sent him the installation pdf documenting that the handle was supposed to turn 120 degrees, that the amount of rotation of the handle is governed by a rotational limit stop that is adjustable, and a link to a YouTube video showing how this is done.  (The rotational limit stop (also known as rotational stop limit) is a safety feature in all modern shower faucets to prevent scalding.  It is required according to Chicago plumbing code - § 18-29-417.4.4.)  Eugene's response to this?  The problem is most likely coming from the existing plumbing.

I adjusted the rotational limit stop and fixed the problem myself.

Just sad.  Some other work (even more complicated work) was done very well.  Eugene sounds pleasant and he responds quickly.  Had just one of the above events occurred, I might have been tempted to shrug it off.  But both in one day?  The red flags don't get any bigger or brighter.

I was recommended Sound Plumbing and I couldn't be happier. Kevin was incredibly helpful and gave me a good, better, best scenarios for the job we asked of him. Unbelievably professional, and they did the work thoroughly, explained every step of the way, and were cordial the entire time they were here. Very competitive pricing, and I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looking to get some pipe work done.

Wanted them to come out to fix my hose spigot. Took 3 tries and multiple rescheduled appointments. Quoted me $700 over what I ended up actually paying. Would neve use this company.

While I have never done a yelp review before, I was so unbelievably impressed with the level of service I received from Green Tech that I felt this was necessary. From the moment I called Kevin I knew I was in good hands. He was able to schedule me in for the next day, which was great. Dan arrived on time the following morning. He quickly fixed all of our issues for a reasonable price. When something else came up later in the day he came back to ensure everything was working properly. He explained what was wrong with our current plumbing situation and kept us informed of what he was doing to fix it. I could not have been more pleased with the level of service I received from Dan and Kevin. I would definitely recommend these guys!

Responsive, knowledgeable, honest and just generally good guys.  Now if only I could find an HVAC company that was anywhere near as good as my new plumbers!

We had an emergency gas line leak in our basement a day before we were supposed to go out of town on a Saturday. After confirming the leak with People's Gas, I quickly searched through YELP reviews and liked what I saw with Captain Rooter. They called back right away and within a little more than an hour, Patrick K. showed up at our door, quickly confirming the diagnosis and working skillfully to get it repaired.  He answered our questions, did great work, and reassured us that it was all fixed.  Problem solved -- very, very rapidly.  It doesn't get much better than that.

When trying to hire them for a job, I received a text stating they would schedule an appointment for an estimate, not to do the work. Days later, I received a text giving me a time slot, not asking me if it would work for me. Still, I accepted. Ultimately, no show, no text, call or email. Nothing. Good thing I didn't hire them, they probably wouldn't show up. Totally unreliable!

I used ABV plumbing three different times and will continue to use them in the future for all plumbing needs. They are honest with pricing, flexible with scheduling, and very professional in helping me understand options instead of just selling one thing. This level of transparency is usually not encountered with services such as these and for that reason ABV plumbing will always be my go to when needs arise.

Dimitri diagnosed a complex plumbing issue that was causing a rancid sewer gas problem in our 106-year-old house and recommended a temporary and inexpensive fix while we wait to start a more complete renovation. Soon after, Lenny made it to our home and quickly took care of the toilets that were causing the problem. So far so good! Dimitri and Lenny were very professional, courteous, and straightforward about everything. They clearly are very expert and don't recommend needless repairs, unlike other companies I had out to try (unsuccessfully) to diagnose and fix our problem.

Juan and his team were great.    They wore masks the entire time.  Did not feel pressured into any type of purchase.  We are very happy with his service.  changed out hot water tank.  He was very efficient, kept us updated if running late, respectful.  We will be keeping Juan's number for a very long time and referring him to many of our friends and family

Our plumber was right on time. He had parts with him to avoid having to make a trip to the hardware store and, most importantly, he fixed my problem!
