New Look Kool Deck and More

Had my pool deck and patio refinished by NLKD 8 months ago - so the review is a little late. Surfaces still look fantastic!
Over the years, I've hired a lot of contractors for repair & remodeling projects with mixed results... This time, I can't say enough good things about my experience with New Look Kool Deck and More.
After 15 years - my pool deck and acrylic decorative finished patio were in need of repair and refinishing. I had gotten two quotes (one company tried to upsell me and convince me that I should lay travertine over the whole thing for $15K) and the other company sent a sales guy who was just brokering projects - he gave me an unreasonably high quote and zero confidence in a successful refinish project.
I saw a referral on Nextdoor for NLKD, checked their reviews on Yelp (all 5 stars!) and then sent a message through Yelp detailing my project. David (the owner) responded right away with his next available spot to come out to review/quote the project. We set a time and he was there on Mon. at 11:30 on the dot. He reviewed my deck & patio, made some suggestions, offered what he felt would be best plan to remedy some large cracks, loose pool tile, settling concrete and uneven surfaces left by original contractor. He took measurements, discussed which crew would be best to work on the job, earliest possible dates they could fit the project in and left a color chart for me to review. David committed to get the quote within 24 hours - I had it later that evening and was extremely happy with the project scope and quoted price. I paid the 40% deposit for the project on line and got a call within minutes to set up time for them to start the work. Dave & his crew showed up at 7 AM as promised each day and Angel & Manny worked 9 hours on Thurs., Fri. & Sat. making sure I was happy with the progress and color as they went. The results are fantastic and I could not be happier - they also did a good job cleaning up the yard afterwards. I called a couple days afterwards to point out a couple of details that needed attention and they followed up and resolved the next day. Highly recommend - professional, polite, fair, timely and great attention to detail!

I recently contracted with Dave Sheehan and NLKD to repair and resurface my deteriorated, 14 year old pool Kool deck. This was a decision that I made after receiving 4 other estimates  and looking at the available reviews on the internet. Dave also had the lowest estimate of the other companies that I had contacted. After checking their calendar, the office contacted me and said they could start the job on Sept. 14 th and it would take 2-3 days to complete. Kelly, at the office advised that Brandon and Angel would do my wrk and would arrive between 8 and 9 on the 14th. Kelly called me on the 13th to let me know that they were running a little behind on the previous job and that Brandon and Angel would be at my home on the 14th but won't be there until around 11 AM. At approximately 11 AM Brandon and Angel arrived and immediately got to work. These two guys are the best workers that I have ever encountered. In a short time, they had my pool bubble wrapped and everything around the pool masked off to prevent any damage from overspray. Unlike many workers, these two guys showed up when the said and worked efficiently while they were here. On Friday they competed the job and my decking has never looked so good. The guys uncover my pool and removed the masking they had done and cleaned up the area around the pool. One note that I would like to add is that when Dave estimated the cost to repair, he included a $300 cost for some areas where he felt that the cement needed some special attention and a sealer coating. As it turned out, after those areas were sanded, Brandon decided that the cement was ok and did not need any special attention. This information was relayed to Dave, the owner, and he let me know that I had a $300.00 refund coming to me. Several days later Dave stopped by and refunded the $300.00. This company and their employees are undoubtedly the best that I have ever dealt with. I highly recommend them and their services to everyone and will definitely use them in the future should the occasion arise. Thank you guys for your integrity and craftsmanship. We decided to repair and update our deck. It was getting pretty faded and in need of repair. We used New Look Kool deck a few years back to do some repairs and really were impressed with their work. We went with them again for the complete job this time. Glad we did they did great work and the patio looks better then ever. Thank you Dave and your team. You guys rock. Great job!

Had these guys come and touch up my pool decking. Really happy with the outcome. My backyard now looks so much better The process is very thorough and took several days. They really know what they are doing. Looks like a brand new pool again. Big thumbs up.

Excellent work from this company. We had our concrete patio covered with new look kool deck. It was a really professional job and looks exceptional.

Dave came and measured our pool cool decking area and we thought he was very professional and he told us that we would receive a written quote by email within the next 2 days.  However, we did not get it.  I texted to find out if they had the right email and was told they decided that they did not want to service the East Valley. Very disappointing because we gave up the time for his visit and did not even get a written quote with this explanation.

I could not even imagine how good my old concrete deck would look. The new deck is so beautiful, I keep going out to look at it. Everyone was so nice, and helpful. Not to mention skilled. These guys went above and beyond to make it gorgeous. The photos speak for themselves. Thank you to everyone at NLKD!!

Dave and his guys (and Kellie in the office too) did a fantastic job on our personal pool deck resurfacing project.  Dave came out in-person to discuss the job, make suggestions, and hear our expectations.  The price estimate was very fair. AMAZING!!! We resurfaced our pool deck and concrete patio and New Look Kool Deck did an awesome job! The crew, Manny and Angel, were amazing with great attention to detail and cleanliness. Dave, the owner, was very professional and friendly as well. He checked the job site several times a day and kept us informed with details. He genuinely cares and guarantees the outcome and durability for years to come. This was a great experience for us because we are very particular regarding perfection...and good help is hard to find nowadays! Price was very reasonable as well, which was a great help since we are senior citizens. He really treats his employees well too and helps them clean up at the end of the day! His employees have been with him for many years, which also says alot! Don't hesitate to contact Dave if you need concrete coatings. Definitely an A+ business!

The team at NLKD did an AMAZING job resurfacing our old pool deck that had the original chipped expansion joints and worn surface. The team was professional, quick and we couldn't have asked for a better final product. They even worked with our tile guys to make the drain install between the two seamless! Thanks!!

Dave, the owner of the company, showed up to do the estimate in a mask, which is always appreciated and frankly required for us for an estimate. He was very professional, covering all aspects of the work and the verbal amount matched the formal estimate emailed to me. NLKD is definitely at the top of our list to do the work. I need to get some other work done before they can start, which Dave and I talked about that while he was here. We want the work on the pool deck to be the last thing done.

Called to get a quote, waited on hold for too long, but waited, then spoke to rep and gave them all the information, and this was annoyingly long, but then NEVER received a call back.  I suppose when they don't even call you back BEFORE they have your money, they certainly won't after.

After 8 years, our pool decking looked old and worn, and was in need of some concrete repair. Dave came out and explained what was needed and the process his team would use. They showed up on time and completed the job when they said they would, and cleaned up after they were done. The pool decking looks new again! I highly recommend NLKD!

I give enough negative reviews when justified.  But when a company/contractor is good I MUST report it.  Dave came out for an estimate.  We had received 1 other estimate and it was almost 2x as much.  I was in shock!  I had another company quote me based on square footage.  Dave's price was still a few hundred less than the person that quoted without looking based on square footage alone.  We had kool decking applied on our large back covered patio (which had a large crack and just needed some love) & a small front entry way patio.  They were only a week or so out from when we called to schedule.  The two guys that laid down came early and finished it all in one day.  We were told it would be a 2 day project but the weather conditions were just right to get it done in 1.  We could not have been happier with the finished product.  Don't bother shopping around.  Trust me, I always try to get 3 or 4 estimates but I can assure you this is the only one you need.

Great outcome on our new pool deck thanks to the team at New Look Kool Deck. The owners, Dave and Kelly Sheehan, agreed to take a risk on a new thermo-plastic material called  Flecks Systems.  My wife and I were in awe of this coating when at a resort in Las Vegas.  It was 115 degree day and we could walk barefoot on this stuff. We had to install it around our pool in Surprise, AZ.  Dave got his team certified by Flecks Systems and we were on our way.  The trowel team led by Angel and Tim were great. Very skilled guys.  Kelley was fantastic and served as Air Traffic Control having to coordinate working with a new company, freight companies and to meet scheduling timelines.  She provided great service.  The team did a great job.  My wife and I feel we got a great result.  I strongly recommend you call Dave and pick this family owned business for your project.

Dave the owner was very straight with me about the costs, his crew came and did a great job, they worked hard and were very professional, I would highly recommend this company.  My deck around my pool and my patio look great, they also did my front porch walkway in flagstone painting, it looks great also.  If you want someone to do this type of work and pay a fair price I would contact Dave.

All the positive reviews on this company are true, I talked to several companies then decided on New Look to replace our old Kool Deck and add an Epoxy floor covering to our garage.  Dave was very honest and up-front from day one. We went over costs, he set a date and Manny and Angel came out at the exact time that was set. They worked for 4 days (110 degree weather) and did a great job on both the deck and the garage. They were at the house on time every day and did a great clean-up when done. Having work done at your home is usually stressful, they made it easy! Best team I have ever worked with!

Had our Kool Deck resurfaced and it looks wonderful.  It took 2 days to complete and the experience from start to finish was very positive. Communication was prompt and Dave, the owner, was on site both days to ensure the work was done properly. I will definitely use them again in the future.

Dave and him team did an excellent job on our view deck.  We had old worn out pebble tech and they power washed, sealed and overlayed a beautiful new pebble tech color that now makes our deck look awesome.  Highly recommend Dave and his company.  They are courteous, neat and go the extra mile to make sure you are happy with their work.

I saw the New Look Kool Deck truck in my neighborhood and thought this must me an omen as I needed edge repair on my Kool Deck by my pool steps. I called the number and the truck and had a delightful  conversation with Mary. She thought Dave may be able to stop by and give me a quote before he left. That didn't work so Dave showed up on time the next day to give me a quote. Dave provided a very competitive quote, not the least expensive, and stated that he would emil the quote to me. The conversation focused on repairing the edge and at least one square and painting the entire surface. After several days i called and asked when I would get the quote. I got the quote 7 days later from the visit. The quote was missing the major component; fixing the edges by the steps. I called and asked if i could add the extra work, sign and return. Mary stated that she would have to defer to Dave. I received a revised quote the next day that nearly double to verbal quote that Dave provided in person but now include all the work we discussed. I did not use New Look as it appeared that they did not want to do the job based on the absurd quote and lack of attention to detail. I did not chose Dave or his firm to do the work. Make sure your quote is accurate!

Great work! Just had my pool deck recoated yesterday. Still drying but looks great so far. Thank you Dave!
