I needed a VERY large cactus removed from my backyard very close to my house.  It was leaning and I worried it would fall and do tremendous damage.  I found them on google search, contacted them and sent photos. They came to inspect the area and how they could remove this heavy cactus.  The team showed up on schedule - set all up and got it out so easily.  And cleaned up all debris so the yard looked perfect when they left.  Manny was amazing climbing on ladder to cut cactus and prepping it to be lifted out by the crane.  And Phil was a master at setting up the crane and handling the crane to lift the cut pieces out.  These people are pros!! I am so grateful to find them and strongly recommend!

I called Surprise Tree Service because my large Mesquite tree needed a make-over.  There was a lot of work to be done and Juan and the crew did a fabulous job.  I called to set an appointment for a bid and Juan came within an hour or so.  We agreed to a price and scheduled the job for 2 days later.  The whole team is very professional and thoroughly cleaned all branches and pieces to leave a clean yard.  I appreciated that there was no  one goofing off (or checking their phone for the latest text). They were serious about doing a good job.  That's not easy to find.  I would definitely hire them again and would highly recommend them.  Thank you to Juan and the entire team at Surprise Tree Service.  I'm glad you are in the Surprise, AZ area.  I will gladly send business your way.

Lifelong professional landscapers and family-own/operated business that does amazing work.  I used Lucas Lawn to come out an fix a HORRIBLE install done by a different company 4 years ago. This was no small job as I am on an acre of land with 10,000 sq ft of grass.

I was going to rip the entire lawn, sprinklers and everything out.  But Ryan, the owner, came up with a much better solution that was less invasive and destructive and SAVED me a TON of money.  He not only fixed and updated the irrigation system, HE SAVED THE ENTIRE LAWN AS WELL!

They all wore company shirts, used professional equipment (including trucks and trailers) and kept the job site clean at all times.  They have many crews and at times multiple trucks showed up to knock out the work quickly.  

I 100% recommend Lucas Lawn for regular maintenance, installs, repairs or just to help out with head scratching issues.

After using their services for my office move, I hired Bryan and Alisha to move me across the country. Their team handled packing, cleaning, and moving for my large two-bedroom apartment at a rate much lower than the big corporate movers. They were professional and very pleasant to work with, and showed that they can handle any surprises that come along the way. Highly recommend these guys.

I received an unsolicited text message from Tree Pros advertising their services and requesting I contact them for more information and to set up a a time to get an estimate for any requested work.  I have never contacted Tree Pros in the past or have they ever performed services for me previously.  I texted Tree Pros back after checking recent reviews on Yelp that were less than positive regarding their customer service and their professionalism, to inform them that due to Yelp reviews, I would encourage them to address those areas of complaint before I would consider hiring them for work.  They responded that they had a 3.5 star rating with Yelp and appeared to be quite happy with mediocrity.

Friendly staff, fast response, fair pricing. Scheduling was convenient and easy, crew showed up right on time, and the quality of work was just right. Will definitely use Tree Pros in the future -- and recommend them to anyone who needs a palm tree cleaned up.

Ryan was extremely responsive to my ask for 12 tons of rock to be spread in my back yard. He suggested also digging out and resetting the rivers (the drainage channels of large river rock) which was a great suggestion as they now look great.

We agreed price and a target timescale a few weeks out and he stuck to it. Ryan arranged the rock drop location with the rock company so I had nothing to do there and his guys showed up on schedule to take care of the spreading.

We had a large tree removed from your front yard by Tree Pros.  They were very professional, fast and clean.  Our yard looked wonderful and clean when they were done.  Also, Brian Schackleford, was very helpful and courteous when I scheduled a future service to have a large tree trimmed in our backyard.   I would definitely recommend Tree Pros.

You don't want to work with this company and the owner's bad attitude.  I agreed to have Lucas Lawn & Yard Care service my yard back in December.  I met with Ryan at my house, he looked at the property, and provided a quote based on his experience running his business since 1994.  He insisted that I sign a Service Agreement with him.  Today, he emailed me to tell me that my rate is increasing by 67% because it is taking more time than he thought.  He has decided that the terms of the Service Agreement do not apply to him.  He also insisted when I signed up that he do a one-time cleanup and spray pre-emergent (which didn't work very well) for $405.  All of this was factored into my budget for landscaping.  I tried to explain to him that what he is doing is called bait and switch, but he doesn't get it.  He's going to respond to this review the exact same way that he has responded to all of the others.  I'm right and you're wrong.

I've posted his original email to me and my response.  I wish that I could post his full, long-winded, nonsensical, response which blames me for his inability to quote a job and run an efficient business, but Yelp says that I'm out of space so I gave you a partial.  You decide.

Here's the meat of his original email to me: Thank you for choosing Lucas Lawn Care to offer you regular service the last 4 months.  When I give a service price for a new customer the price is basically a guess as to how long on average, I think the crew is going to need to be on site each visit.  Now that we have some history of visits, I can figure out an average.  That average shows the men are just needing to take a little longer than expected to service your yard.  So, I need to raise your price by $74 per visit starting in May.  I have talked to Javier and he has confirmed that the yard is going to need this amount of time on average to keep it looking the way you have been asking him to keep it.

My response: This is an outrageous bait and switch tactic.  Shame on you.  You, the expert, who has been in business since 1994 came to my house, looked at my yard, and told me the cost to take care of it on a monthly basis.  I agreed to pay you to $405 to do a one-time cleanup even though you were taking over immediately from my previous company.  I agreed to pay more for your service than I had been paying previously and I even agreed to pay $130 for a pre-emergent service that was intended to keep the cost of service down for a year, but doesn't work very well (there are currently lots of weeds on my property (the day after service) - see attached example photo taken this morning).  I even signed a Service Agreement with you.  Now, after 4 months including the months with the most growth that will take the longest to service, you send an email telling me that you plan to disregard your service agreement and raise my rate 67% because it is taking more time than you expected?

Javier and his crew do a nice job and I hate to lose that service, but I have not asked him to keep the yard the way I like it beyond pointing out items that should be taken care of in the normal course of service.  Yesterday when he was here, the only things I asked were to trim the overgrowth on the 2 trees near the front door that he could reach from ground level and to make sure that the hedge was taken care of since it was not addressed on his last visit.

I see two options here.  The first is that you continue to honor your service agreement and commitments at the price we have agreed.  I am not looking for perfection.  I am willing to have a little bit less service if that helps.  The second option is that we part ways and I post reviews detailing your bait and switch tactics so that your future customers will be warned.  Under the second option, you will also immediately refund the $130 that I paid for the pre-emergent service since my new landscaper will include the cost of dealing with the weeds in their price and will not recognize that I already paid for this ineffective service.

His response: Since the bait and switch item will not be on any other reviews potential new customers will not see a pattern.  Also there are so many 5 star reviews they will question yours more at being a one star.

Our service agreement has a 30 day notice of cancelation that either party can cancel not an annual 12 month contract.  so we can part ways now if you want since I contacted you the next day after a visit or you can get one more visit from us and that will be our last visit making it an official 30 calendar days.  My guys will know to only spend the time that your price is buying so that last visit would be less work than what has been happening.  I'm not trying to make things hard for you or emotional, again I just want to make sure my company is making something on each visit vs nothing.  What would be the point in a company servicing a yard and loose money?  I'm sure you get paid to do your job, correct.

Highly recommend this company! Everyone was polite and professional. Eric, the owner, is very honest and straightforward. Had 2 palm trees that needed to be cut down but were in a precarious position, close to the walls in the yard. He laid out for me the risks associated with bringing both trees down. He was able to get both trees cut down quickly and efficiently with no damage to the walls or concrete walkway. Yard was totally cleaned up with no left over mess. Will definitely be calling him again for more tree work in the future.

I reached out for a quote through Yelp and he was quick to respond, came out to my house the same day to give an estimate. Fair price and was on time for the job. He also did a great job trimming our citrus and palm trees. Highly recommend.

Where to start I commission astonishing landscape and design to come out and provide me a quote to landscape my front yard tear out all the existing gravel and put more up-to-date gravel remove a couple mesquite trees with a few bushes. I was on a limited budget George the owner explain to me as far as we could stretch it as far as material and labor and delivered a phenomenal end result project. From start to finish my experience with them was top notch started the project on time and finished on budget. I strongly recommend astonishing landscape and design for any Landscaping needs. George the owner it was a pleasure working with him. Thank you astonishing landscape and design.

I was referred to Lucas Lawn and I have to say it was the best referral I could have received.  They not only are SUPER honest but extremely professional.  Jourdan was prompt and did a very neat and detailed job taking care of my palm trees.  He even went out to his way to make sure my property was secured and safe before he left.  I look forward to utilizing their services throughout the year.  You get what you pay for!  If you want quality work from some guys that truly understand the needs of each tree, then you want to give Lucas Lawn and Yard Care a shot.  You will not be disappointed.

These guys are great if you just need a basic trimming or removal. If you need anything else they're largely useless as they seem incapable of following simple directions.

The first time we had them out they were trimming some trees and were supposed to remove a dead one. The trees looked nice but they forgot to remove the dead one. The next time we asked them to come give us an opinion on whether one of our trees was killed by bugs or by sunburn from overtrimming (by a different company). They gave is a quote to remove the tree and nothing else. The wind a couple days ago partially knocked over one of our trees so we had them out to give us a quote on how much it would cost to save the tree. This was communicated to the office as well as in person and yet we only received a quote for removal. We'll be finding a different company with people that actually listen.
