Trees For Needs

This was the first year we used Trees for Needs to work on our 16+ trees including palms, European fan palms pines, bottle trees, willow acacias, eucalyptus and my favorite cascalote.  I LOVED the way they trimmed, pruned, lightened, and balanced our trees.  Andy listened so carefully to what I wanted (don't disturb the bird nest in the european fan palm! keep my cascalote trunk system in tact to preserve it's amazing structure! etc.).  The whole team really made everything look great while insuring the trees would handle the wind and weather appropriately.  Thank you to the entire team!

Excellent communication from the first step (sales) through to the end (payment). Reasonable pricing, and did an excellent job. Arrived on time on the specified date - walked around the property both before and after to ensure we were staisfied.

Be careful of this company! i pay for a service I really didn't receive.  Hidden details that they told you after u agree to the service.  Poor customer service because they don't even try to work with you but do everything to collect the paymen.

This is the second time I have had Trees for Needs out to the house. The first time they took out two damaged trees. They were actually at the house before I was and had the trees down, cleaned up and were gone. Excellent! A few weeks later the stump grinder guy came out and got rid of the stump. This time they trimmed up an African Sumac. These guys are fast and on time. The foreman checked with me to see what I wanted and bam, his guys attacked the tree and cleaned up all at the same time.  Literally had my tree trimmed in less than 15 minutes. Good job guys!

A friend referred Trees for needs, and we could not be happier.  We have two very mature trees that needed some TLC, and now they looks great.   They will be healthy for a long time.  The team that came to our house was friendly, professional, and even reviewed the work they did with us.  We absolutely will call them again!!

We needed our two Palo Verde trees trimmed in the front yard and they did an awesome job. Showed up during the given time window and knocked out the job rather quickly. Their prices are beyond fair and their guest service is top-notch.

Trees For Needs was a pleasure to work with. Used their services for some maintenance work on my 20+ ft tall Palo Verde. As soon as Carl arrived for the initial quote, I knew I was making the right decision. I was explained the work to be done, how it was to be done, and why. Employees are prompt, polite and professional. As a contractor, I was glad to see the measures taken to ensure the safety of workers. I have a young backyard tree that nearly toppled last summer due to a monsoon storm - it was leaning at a 45-degree angle for several days, before my gardener pushed it upright and cabled it to the ground. Unfortunately the cable rusted, and broke a couple of weeks before the first big storm of Monsoon 2017, which happened last Sunday night. By sunrise on Monday, the tree was leaning again, and another bad storm was in the forecast. I feared one more storm would be the end of this tree.

On Monday morning, trees were down all over the Valley. I used Yelp to contact several tree service companies, but they were all extremely busy. Just as I was about to give up, I received a message from Jessica at Trees for Needs.

Although the company was fully booked, Jessica was determined to assist me. She sent an inspection crew to provide an estimate for thinning and staking the tree. At first it appeared there would not be enough time in the day to perform these tasks - but that afternoon two different crew members arrived and staked the tree, for a reasonable price. Amazing customer service!

I have called Trees for Needs on several occasions to help trim my very very tall palm trees to remove two huge 25 year old bottle trees and to help thin out a huge tree I have.

I've been using Carl at Trees for Needs for 2 years now, and he is always honest and professional. He never suggests trimming trees that don't need it and his pricing is very competitive compared to some other arborists I've worked with in the past.

I bought a new home and needed some guidance regarding how to care for the trees on my property.  Carl was on time, wonderfully friendly and super knowledgeable.  He explained everything to me and provided a very fair price.  In addition his office staff was very helpful and completely on the ball.  I have since referred Trees For Needs to clients and friends and everyone agrees they are great!

I have waited for over a year to post this because of what Carl told me and that was In a year the tree will be fine
Well the tree is NOT fine and has been in shock since his company did a number on my Tangelo tree April 8, 2016. My meeting with Carl was that they were to structure the crown, which they did not, leave interior and lower growth, which they did not. All this was written in the contract. Instead they sawed branches off, cut interior growth, raised the pruning level so high you could not reach any fruit bearing branches, of which there has been none for 2 years because of the butcher job on our tree. When Carl came out to look at the job that he had promised me there would be a Certified Arborist on site, which was not the case, we got instead 3 non-english speaking men that would not or could not communicate with me.
I contacted Carl, and he came to see what I was concerned about. Carl said he would not charge us for the job (405.00) until the following year when I could see that they did not injure the tree and it would be much healthier by then. AND that he would return and check the tree to see that it was doing fine. That has never happened.
We were charged, of course, and we paid, of course and have never heard or seen him again, OF COURSE.
I see many glowing reviews, perhaps he has changed his business tactics and either took some much needed refresher classes, and now hires responsible help.

I asked the company to call me back to get service done around the first of the year, and they did. No need to get another estimate, they honored the original price! Got confirmation call on service date & time. The estimated time window for service was knocked out by an early arrival. Crew member knocked before starting work & again when work was completed to be sure I was satisfied. I suggested one fix to part of a tree & they hopped right on it. This company is amazing & I will definitely use them again. How I wish they also did shrubs & regular yard maintenance!!

To say they did an excellent job would be an understatement, they did an UNBELIEVABLE job!!!  We had expectations that were pretty high considering the last arborist did an OK job at best.  Trees for Needs came in and absolutely went above and beyond our expectations!  They are our go to for any tree work moving forward.  HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

We hired Trees for Need to do our Community trees. Wow what a difference!  They look like art work! Carl is so honest, informative, and his staff is great as well.

Our newly purchased home had several overgrown trees in need of trimming.  We called multiple services for quotes and all quotes were within the same price range.  The deciding factor was because we really appreciated the time Andy spent with us explaining how to best care for our trees, what service the trees actually needed (not what they could profit from), and the time he spent with us answering all our questions and concerns.  The office staff and crew members were all professional, punctual, courtesy, and helpful.  They did an excellent job with our trees and clean up.  Highly recommend Trees For Needs!!

They arrived at the time we set up and they did a great job trimming & cleaning up the middle of our large ficus tree. I recommended Trees For Needs to my parents & they are also pleased with their service and quality of work.

I just hired this company to do some work for me in Fountain Hills. I could not be happier with their responsiveness, professionalism, courtesy and quality of work. They make sure you know when their crew will arrive as well as following us to get feedback on the work completed. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for arborist experts who get the job done right for a fair price.

I've been waiting a few weeks before posting a review because I wanted to be as fair as possible. On the good side, this company was prompt to return my calls & were sort of on time to appear (they came at the very tail end of their time window.)

On the bad side, they sent someone who didn't speak very much English & he couldn't understand what I wanted to have done on the trees. I was really hoping for a real arborist who could help me understand the different options, but I ended up just pointing and hoping for the best. When I came back after running some quick errands, I found most of my tree on the ground & somehow it still looked as scraggly as it started! I called the owner to complain and he said a) that I didn't know what I was talking about, b) that I was looking for a free trim job, and c) that he could come by to look at it and to tell me that he thought it looked good (his opinion from the few cell phone photos that the trimming guy sent to him.)

They've been calling every few days to see when they could come and tell me that the tree looks fine, but honestly, I don't think that will help me feel better at all. I don't really want to talk to them again after being so insulted when I was really upset over the bad trim my tree had gotten from them...

Maybe if you speak Spanish and already know everything you need to know about trees, this would be an okay company to try, but I think that the owner should really consider whether or not he should personally meet new clients to better understand their needs and also really, really consider what he says to them.

We have used Trees for Needs for years and could not be happier.  The knowledge and care that Carl puts into his work is amazing.  Carl is a Botanist, not a landscaper, and can address problems you can't begin to imagine.  Every single encounter has been professional and on target.  His crew has saved our trees time and time again by proper trimming, correct watering amounts and speed and certain specialized fertilizers.  You get what you pay for, and we were tired of having to replace trees.  His prices are very competitive.  If you are clear about your concerns during evaluation by Carl, he then sends his crew on the appointed day and they do a wonderful, top notch job.  Too bad you don't have more stars!

I would highly recommend Trees For Needs for all your tree services. Carl really knows his business and taught me a few things about my trees. The office staff was very professional and called me just like I was told they would. They confirmed the time and their men were at my house promptly. It was cold and still dark outside when they arrived but it didn't slow them down in the least. They asked for my approval a couple of times during the job and when they were finished. I'm sure if I wasn't completely satisfied, they would've kept working until I was. All of Carl's team were professional, courteous and hard working. I am confident that I will continue to use Trees For Needs for my future service needs.

Have had these guys out to trim my trees twice now. I couldn't ask for better service. The arborists are timely and do a great job with the trees. They even entertained my 3 year old, who really thought they had a cool job because they got to climb trees! The work they did on the trees is fantastic and lasts much longer than a trimming you might get from a general landscaper. They thin the trees out nicely leaving just enough branches intact so that it grows back looking natural. Even my giant Mesquite  went two years without the need for a major trim! Would highly recommend!

We had some serious tree trimming that need to be addressed in our front and backyard, including a couple tall Mexican Palms. Chris and his team were professional, prompt, and did an excellent job in caring for the trees. We will use Trees for Needs again and highly recommend their service to others.

I took a gamble on a direct marketing advertisement to have my overgrown mesquite tree trimmed. I am ecstatic at the beauty that was hiding under all the growth. Thanks to Trees For Needs, I have a revived beauty in my front yard!  The front scape of my home is so lovely that I drive up at different approaches just to marvel at the changed look!  All because of a well crowned and pruned tree.

I was completely impressed and pleased with everyone at Trees For Needs.   I had two sick trees, and needed advice from an expert.  Carl (the arborist) was out to check on them very promptly and provided great information and advice. A couple days later, his guys trimmed off a large branch that had split off. They were very polite, cleaned up, and checked to be sure I was happy before they left. The next day I got a call to followup and see if I had any further questions.  Carl even stopped by to check on things a couple weeks later.  I'm planning on having Trees For Needs do my tree trimming in 2016.  Hard to find great companies like this anymore.

Had a tree that needed trimming and some debris hauled off. I trim most my trees but I have one Palo Verde with some major thorn action. Every time I have trimmed it in the past I look like I tried to break up a cat fight. Got a couple of estimates and went with Trees for Needs. Work started in the time frame they said. Hit a snag in that they couldn't finish everything the same day, but they kept me in contact and finished up the next day. That surprised me since it was Saturday. Figured they wouldn't come back until Monday. Very happy with the result and will use again.

The absolute best tree trimming and customer service!! Kim is awesome and helped me get my trees serviced quickly. And my newly trimmed palm is beautiful!! Very highly recommend them!!

Maybe the best experience I've ever had with palm tree trimmers. Got here on time, got the job done quickly, cleaned up everything and did a nice job on the trees. I'll definitely use them again next year!

TL;DR - If you want your trees trimmed well AND your property to be respected, maybe look elsewhere.

Had Hummingbird come out to trim all the trees on our property (2 mesquites, 2 eucalyptus, multiple small palms, and 1 desert something). While the pricing was competitive with other bids we received, the process of actually getting them out and the end result left a lot to be desired.

I had originally booked service for July 19th, but had to be rescheduled to the 23rd due to a broken chipper. The day before the 23rd I reached out again to confirm and received no response. Day of I got a message that the chipper was still broken and could we do Tuesday. Sure. Tuesday rolls around and they need to reschedule again. They ended up not making it out until the 27th.

All that nonsense aside, they busted their asses trimming the trees - they were here almost all day. Overall, I am mostly happy with the trimming itself and how my trees look. The arborist seemed very knowledgable and talked to us about things to consider and how to manage tree care moving forward (we've only been here a couple years and this is our first time having the trees done).

What I am not happy with is how they treated my property in general.
There were a ton of half empty/empty water bottles that were left all over my backyard. They cleaned up most of the tree debris in my yard itself, but left the debris that fell into the wash behind us which we will prob hear about from our HOA. Our next door neighbor contacted us to say that they had left a bunch of debris in their yard as well. As they were dragging branches out of my yard, they damaged a young Pineapple Guava (broke the top right off of it - luckily the tree itself will live). They moved some large grow bags, as they must have been in the way, but didn't bother to move them back (some of which are VERY heavy). They broke some small pavers (not a big deal but it happened). And they unplugged our sprinkler box/irrigation timer and didn't plug them back in - it took us a few days to realize this and our plants and grass suffered for it.

After getting few quotes for my tree trimming , I decided to go with hummingbird tree care.
Johnny gave me a good price and set me with an appointment . Out of 6 companies I contacted , only 4 responded .
3 persons shows up for the job but didn't finished the job the same day but came back the next day to finished up the work.
I didn't give a 5 star rating due to job didn't finished on time, a less skillful trimmer and didn't  clean up as good.  I don't mean they are not good but find the job may be too much for lack of workers to completed and detail clean up . I still tip them because the workers are friendly and nice .

They contacted me to let me know there had been an accident and that's why they weren't able to make it. I'm really glad everyone is alright albeit sore. They came by today, earlier than expected, to trim our palm tree. It was pretty fast and they did a great job. We'll most likely use them again in the future. The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the phone number listed. When I called I was going up on. I've been talking to them from another number though so maybe it's just a wrong number listed.

We had Hummingbird Tree Care out to remove 9 palm trees in our yard. Many of them were quite large. They did a fantastic job! Showed up on time, communicated well, took great care to angle and fell the trees between the backyard walls and the pool, gazebo and BBQ ramada, wow.  Then cleaned it all up. Such a great crew.  Thank you all !!

Talked to these guys on the phone, and within an hour had an estimate!   Told us they could do the job tomorrow and they showed up on time, hard to find that in the valley.  He has a nice crew the showed up and cut down 3 trees and trimmed our palm tree, as well as grinding the stumps, had no issues cleaned up the yard very nice and did it within there estimate.    I would highly recommend this company they did exactly what they said they would do with no issues what so ever.

They did a great job for a good price. Big mesquite tree is gone, stump removed and yard cleaned up afterward. Highly recommend. These three men worked as a team and the job and mess were over quickly.

These guys are great! They are All very professional and safe.  I thought the tree removal was going to be an all-day  process but they were  done in 4 hours!  I would definitely recommend them!

Had these guys cut down a couple palm trees in my front yard. They were pretty close to the house (one was touching the foundation) so I was a bit nervous about how it would work out, but they did an awesome job and were way less expensive than the other bids we got. Also they were super polite and easy to work with. I definitely recommend these guys.
