We added a new room to our house, and also a couple of cinder block walls to separate the front yard from the back. Proctor Custom Builders did both projects, and we couldn't be happier. Everything was done exactly as we wanted and in the time frame promised, the crews were professional and thorough, communication was excellent, and cleanup was thorough. We highly recommend them.

I got lucky finding this guy!!!!
I needed walls and floors replaced from an old roof leak. He was also skilled to handle a hidden water leak in the laundry room.
Come to find out, George is more than just a handy man. He's a professional contractor with lots of experience building houses.
Extremely impressive with how quick George responded to my request. George is assertive, responsive, friendly, and knows what he is doing. He is accommodating and helpful. He also helped me move some items in my house. Just an overall great and trustworthy guy.

Best roofer we've ever found here in Phoenix. When others could not (or would not spend the time to) find a leak in our roof, Nick was diligent and located the leak and fixed it right away. He's been out to repair our roof several times after big storms and every time came out right away, found the leak and fixed it at a reasonable cost. We highly recommend Nick and C&H Roofing! -Peggy and Steve Kvam, N. Phoenix, Az.

Provided very reasonable estimate for my small 10x16 shed. Finished the job the following week. Excellent workmanship and fully satisfied with results.

We recently purchased a foreclosure property where the water heater had burst, causing damage to the stand and drywall surrounding the water heater. The bank replaced the water heater, but refused to repair the damaged drywall and it quickly became laden with mold.
On a referral from our Realtor, we hired Wayne Glashagel (Owner of AMA Contstruction) to repair the water heater stand and surrounding drywall. Wayne drained the water heater, disconnect the copper pipes, remove the water heater, tore out the water heater stand, sprayed Killz on the moldy areas and rebuilt the stand from the ground up. Afterward, Wayne reconnected the water heater to the plumbing.
Wayne was very courteous and professional, arrived early for the appointment and did a fantastic job on the repair of the water heater stand. It looked brand new and the drywall texture matched the existing texture perfectly.
I would highly recommend Wayne for any general contract work.

They refinished one of our tub's this week and it looks brand new. The house is over 20 years old. I'm so happy with the results. They were professional and I would use them again if I had another job like this.

Unfortunately this company is not reputable. They do ok work, however they could not match our existing ceiling in an addition. We had traditional tongue and groove pine ceiling that is still used in building all the time. They installed the new ceiling intermixed with our old ceiling and proceeded to stain the new boards with an airless sprayer after they were in our house. Not only did this leave a layer of stain everywhere that I had to scrub off and can't remove from all surfaces, it did not match the beautiful pre existing ceiling. When we complained we were told that was the best they could do. It was so far off from our original ceiling that it was unacceptable. They offered to install the new ceiling in place of the old material but expected us to pay for all of the material and labor involved. After going back and forth and the company owner trying to make us sound like we were the bad homeowners trying to stiff him he agreed that he would replace the old ceiling and we could just pay what we thought was fair. We honestly didn't think we should pay anything to replace the ceiling that we absolutely loved, but we did agree to pay for the materials. When it was all said and done he charged us the full amount. We were left with a ceiling that looked nothing like our original, beautiful ceiling and a hefty bill that would remain as a lien on our home if we did not pay. The fact that they were unable to match the ceiling should have been brought to our attention before the additional new ceiling was installed. It is just better for you to go elsewhere if you want a morally sound company that stands behind their work.

We are having a shed built. We were going to use tuff shed, because that's who home depot recommended. We had nothing but problems with tuff shed. This company did not complain or use any of the excuses tuff shed did. Talking with him they have been in business for over 30 years. I found this company on the internet and was a little leary due to there website but oh my goodness I am beyond happy! We placed the order Saturday (of a holiday weekend) and they are here installing it on Tuesday! I'm pretty sure that he is just old school and having a website presence is just hard to maintain. They are professional. They are friendly. They are putting the shed right where we want it! Even though they have to do some careful maneuvering around our pool. They were finished within hours. I would recommend this company any day!

This is a general contracting firm. I had not used them before, but I have known Jeff Rassmusson for 15 years and he has done various elements of remodel for me in 4 previous homes in Scottsdale. Jeff now works at Modern Group.
The particular job that he oversaw involved installation of hardwood floors, drywall, removal and installation of master bath cabinets, tile work, repair and painting. He is a hands on overseer. I am impressed with not just the quality but the pricing on what I received. I would certainly recommend Jeff and his firm along with all the trades that they use to execute a plan.

BEWARE: I hired David with Mohave Leveling to level an addition on my mobile home and add additional supports underneath. He requested a deposit of 20% for materials which is always a risk but I proceeded and sent the deposit. Once he received the deposit He immediately disappeared, would not respond to countless calls and texts. At the time of this review he has still not responded or made it right, if he does I will edit this review

They don't even honor a written down promise!
There are tons of articles warning against trusting a builder's oral promise. Hardly would anyone expect a builder to break a written promise. But this is exactly my experience with Meritage Homes. Meritage Homes promised to build two HVAC units. After they mistakenly installed a single-unit system, they refused to replace it with the right system.
I ordered to build a new house with Meritage Homes at Oviedo Gardens in January 2017. Before signing the contract, I asked the sales associate how many HVAC units there will be for the two-floor house. She checked the plan and confirmed through email that there will be two. Satisfied with the answer, I chose the model and paid the deposit.
However, Meritage Homes mistakenly installed a single-unit damper HVAC instead of the promised two units. I researched and found that damper systems are far worse than two-unit systems except that the damper systems are cheaper to build and install. I brought up the issue to the construction manager and the sales associates. They told me that their company forgot to synchronize the plans the construction team and the sales team use, and the two teams end up using different plans. They admitted it was Meritage Home's fault and believed their company would replace the wrong system with the right one.
However the Orlando division rejected the switch. Joe, VP of operations, first offered to switch with a two-unit system, on the condition that we must accept a reduced total tonnage. Two weeks later, he changed his mind and declined to make any switch. To justify the breaking of promise, he came up with all kinds of funny excuses that contradict with his own words. Because of word limit, I have no space to write down all the funny reasons he provided. Throughout the process, I was over and over again shocked by Meritage Homes' arrogance and unprofessionalism.
I've been looking for ways to sue Meritage Homes but under the current legal system, there is really nothing a house buyer can do to protect himself, not even with a written promise or contract. All I can do is to warn future buyers about Meritage Homes. I think the problem lies in their corporate culture, which definitely doesn't put customers' interest first. I doubt those people even care about the company's reputation or long-term profit. Whenever issues emerged, their first response is to play hawkish on customers. They seemed to believe that all customers would concede sooner or later. Sometimes they wouldn't hesitate to lie to customers to avoid trouble.
Speaking of lies, here's another example. The side width of the countertop of my kitchen island is 7 inches shorter than that of the countertop in the inventory house. To make sure the inventory house should be right, I checked Meritage Homes' promotion house of the same model on YouTube, which has the same size of countertop as the inventory house. The overhang of my countertop is so small that the person who sits on the chair by the kitchen island would have no room for legs. I reported the issue to the construction manager. He replied the inventory house was wrong and mine was correct. I asked for the plan. He sent it to me and the plan almost perfectly matches the inventory house. He threatened that if I continued to complain, he'd lift my countertop and cut the width even shorter than before. Up till now, Meritage Homes still insisted that my countertop is the only one that's correct. It seems that they would regard the plan wrong because it doesn't match my countertop.
The building process has been a nightmare. For example, the sod company has come five times but a big part of lawn is still bare. Each time, the sod company failed to bring enough sods. I asked sod workers why. They said they brought what the builder estimated to need. No need to say how much waste is involved. If Meritage Homes really wants to save money, they should improve building management rather than skip a HVAC, cut corners on countertops or lie to customers.
Update 6/11: Just found out that they've canceled the contract without even notifying me, and they are reselling the house while still holding my deposit. Isn't it fraud?

I hired Wendler Construction to renovate my home, he in turn hired D and J Construction to frame parts of the original house, an 800 sqft addition and garage. They did a horrible job... they used 2x4's when the plans called for 2x6's, used wrong footings on the front wall of the house, used wrong calculations on the truss fabrication thus not allowing enough room for the hvac duct work, and had to reframe interior walls and a new skylight, which they did wrong resulting in having to purchase a custom skylight. Wendler Construction's lack of experience, skill, and ability to manage my renovation, caused over 5 months of delays and tens of thousands of dollars in additional costs. And then halfway thru the project, right after Christmas break, Wendler Construction quit on me. After almost a year in construction, I am still finding mistakes made under Wendler Construction's management. I would not recommend them.
